Hi Pulled latest git repo and build mainline image (Ubuntu/Debian both) 4.9.2-sun8i kernel. Eth0 now stuck at 100mb/s and half duplex. I have tried using ethertool to make it full duplex. Not working. The previous image which I used and suggested was Armbian_5.24.170109_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_4.9.0 This image works with full duplex. Is this a bug or there is more configs needed when I building my own images? From ethtool output, looks like problem with auto negotiation. pi@orangepizero:~$ sudo ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Ha…

Hello all, I wrote up this documentation mostly as notes to myself about how I successfully built a kernel and ubuntu core rootfs. If you could let me know how to improve it, please let me know. I don't generally write documentation. I focused on the roc-rk3328-cc but it should work okay for a variety of the Firefly chips. Thanks, ~Ben barebone_to_ubunutu.md

Hi Igor, I encountered an issue on Bananapi with kernel 4.2 using your latest SDK: A reboot or powercycle will fail with getting eth0 up and running (no IP address). Maybe my grep-fu is not powerful or following endless includes, but I ended up changing build/cache/sources/linux-mainline/orange-pi-5.9/arch/arm/boot/dts/sunxi-h3-h5.dtsi which seems like it would change other boards. Is there a surefire way to make the changes in the proper place for the Duo? I tested the image I built and indeed this changes the dtb correctly, but will it effect orange pi, etc boards too (h3-h5 boards)? @Igor I have the changes ready to commit, but I didn't want to do something that effects multiple boards.

Ever since I read through THIS POST a while back, I started digging through the cpufrequtils init script, and was a more or less disappointed with what I found. It's largely a product of the CPUs that were available around that time (eg - Pentium 3). Namely that all cores in the system are the same, and there's should be only one master policy that controls everything. Of course ARM big.LITTLE totally breaks these assumptions, and leaves the script with no viable way to specify different schedulers or frequency ranges for each CPU cluster. It still runs, but not really correctly. For example, you can't set the RK3399 little cores above 1.4 GHz, but that's basi…

Dear Armbian community, I'm trying to make a minimal size Armbian image ( Ubuntu 16.04 with default kernel). Build system works great, but when I'm building the system without GUI (Image wit console interface "server") a bluetooth system doesn't work. I tried to build same system with same configs, but set "Image with desktop environment". In this case bluetooth system works great. I tried to solve this problem by myself, but..... It seems like I can not fix it. So, why I'm thinking that bluetooth system doesn't work. When I'm using bluetoothctl list it is void output. hciconfig -a void output I tried to start systemctl st…

What do we have? Serial connection: Hardware schematics: orangepi-plus-h3-v1_1.pdf Wireless: Realtek RTL 8189 ETV Allwinner introduced new way of storing board definitions (also on A23 and A80) so it's a bit different than on A20 boards. H3_Manual_build_howto Kernel building with Allwinner SDK is terrible and was not able to build it. I must admit I haven't invest much time and energy yet.

My objective is to boot Armbian on my NanoPi Neo2 from a network server. I've got Armbian running on the NanoPi Neo2 and u-boot recognizes the ethernet interface. Also, I have a DHCP server and TFTP server running. If I press space during start-up, I get in the U-boot environment. When I give the dhcp command in the U-boot environment, the NanoPi Neo2 get's an IP address and loads /boot/boot.scr from the network. So, the pre-requisites seem to work fine. But then.... I just can't figure out how to start Armbian (preferrably in read only mode) from the network. Maybe someone can tell me what needs to be done. I've got the following qu…

It seems the Linux kernel 5.8+ on aarch64 is incompatible with the U-Boot from 2017, at least on the RK3328 boards. This apparently affects the Rock64 as well as my own Renegade. Essentially U-Boot gets stuck on "Starting kernel..." In this post https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=14657&start=10 they fix it by recompiling u-boot, newer version from upstream In addition to the existing rock64 defconfig, it seems that the defconfig for the Renegade was finally upstreamed on May! https://github.com/u-boot/u-boot/commit/bab972948e152e468fa5ab34764769fc4cddcaab No more 2017 U-Boot from rockchip for me, perharps... Certainly not a new item but havn't found an Armbian how-to. Hardware: Rockchip rk3588 based hardware with both SDcard slot and eMMC memory. Wish: make a SD card image that, when inserted in the SDcard slot, causes a bootable Armbian OS image to be written to eMMC from that SDcard, followed by boot from eMMC. The bootable image should remain in its most compact form, to limit copy time, and only upon first boot from eMMC be made to use the entire eMMC. Has this been explored already? Ideas on how-to?

Why does Armbian include both include ifupdown AND NetworkManager by default? I'm not aware of anything that ifupdown can do that NM cannot and ifupdown doesn't have a TUI/GUI like NM so as far as I'm concerned ifupdown is just clutter that causes config clashes and boot delays. Isn't it time to strip ifupdown from Armbian? On a related note, I've never got any of the (ifupdown) network config options in armbian-config to work.

I believe this question goes to @rpardini as maintainer of patches for Rockchip series in the `build` repo: I'm trying connect camera to Orange Pi 3B (yes, it boots from community support on edge kernels), but spent 2h digging to find no drivers for CSI2 from Rockchip's fork are ported to patches for recent kernels (for example: https://github.com/armbian/linux-rockchip/blob/rk-5.10-rkr6/drivers/phy/rockchip/phy-rockchip-csi2-dphy.c and corresponding device trees to instantiate these drivers). This is a little chicken egg problem as I need recent kernels to have access to open source GPU drivers - they're not present on 5.10 based original system i…

This isn't specific to armbian, I guess. I am not sure if the mainline linux kernel supports USB peripheral/OTG on Banana Pi M2. Armbian doesn't list anything in /sys/class/udc , so I assume it isn't. In the v3.3 kernel released by Sinovoip, there is a dedicated option in the menuconfig for sunxi_usb. I am not sure where to look in the mainline kernel. Anybody has a better idea about this? Thank you.

I would like to build a hard realtime Linux kernel for Orange Pi SoC. Using Xenomai technologies (Installing Xenomai 3.x , Xenomai Documentation). This would be a great extension of the SoC application area. I did this for the x86 architecture. And I've already assembled the core using your Arabian technology. But building the realtime Xenomai kernel requires pre-patching from a third-party project Adeos (Adaptive Domain Environment for Operating Systems). Patch files for different architectures can be found here: Index of /downloads/ipipe/v4.x Is it possible to build a realtime kernel using Arabian? P.S. I apologize for my poor …

Hi Igor, Hi Everyone, I am very new here. I have Orange Pi R1 and using Armbian everything is working, however I have proprietary software and want to secure it ( as much as possible ) Read a lot of articles and read about Armbian supporting CRYPTROOT_ENABLE , so decided to try to build my own image. I have succeeded in building 5 images but unfortunatelly none of them boots correctly. I decided to first build image without CRYPTROOT_ENABLE but still cannot succeed. It gives me KERNEL PANIC after truing to load/uncompress Linux. I Basicly want default Armbian image for Orange Pi R1 + CRYPTROOT_ENABLE. My second question will follow …

Igor, I noticed that your build script automatically parses a URL to determine what the current stable release is for "Next". Since 4.3 is now officially released and has a number of features worth checking out, it would be nice if the build script offered an option to pick from stable vs. mainline. For now I am just manually setting the KernelTag to "4.3", but it would be nice not to have to modify any of the scripts manually and have this be an option you can pick from. Just a suggestion... Thanks.

Hello, I've got an Orange Pi Zero (Allwinner H2+) and an .img 4GB with OS for it and some custom software in the image. I have source code of this custom software and need to compile its modified version and build/change the .img with my changes, and load it all into the Zero. 7zip opens the .img, I can see that it has Armbian Jessie with legacy kernel. QEmu on Ubuntu coudn't mount the .img, is it possible to emulate the image, or should I modify my software on the device itself? How it could be done? I need some help with development for Zero and an existing .img. Thanks in advance.

Hello community, I have just been successful building my own image of Ubuntu focal + preempt_rt (kernel 5.15.76-rt53) for my Rock64 board for the first time (a bit of additional background at the end of my post). Exciting! I had a few hiccups along the way, and I need to figure out a few more things. So far I'm happy and impressed with the project. However, given I want to share my work (and the resulting image(s)) I would like to ask for some pointers on what is the best way to go in regards of forking armbian/build and the changes I found myself doing. I have added my kernel compilation flags to config/kernel/linux-rockchip64-curre…

If someone is interested I found the way to have BT working on orange pi Prime. Hi all! I need to back to an older kernel version that I had used past year. In my PC, I conserve without any kind of changes, the working directory used to run compile.sh. If I did not missunderstood my Armbian documentation reading, there is an option to tell compilation process that don't try to upgrade sources files before compile (touch .ignore_changes). Am I right? And, if it's fine, Could somebody please explain me where and how must I apply these parameter? Thanks in advances! Edit: You could ask. Just started with creating custom images for an Orange Pi R1+ LTS board. In my build I'd like to compile some custom C++ applications using CMake, then install them onto the root file system to run on the board. Couldn't find much on this on the docs, though maybe I haven't looked hard enough! A couple of questions: I noticed the customize-image.sh script in the build repository - would amending this script be the intended method for this kind of functionality or is there another, better way? How would I provide CMake the relevant info to compile correctly for the board. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, since we're currently collecting tasks to be done by community to get a nice board (OPi Plus 2E) in return I thought I sum up where we currently are regarding working H3 OS images with mainline kernel: Our main showstoppers for releasing H3 images with mainline kernel are still: missing/non-working THS stuff (see explanation here), native Ethernet driver not finished and a few minor bits. My last attempt to check situation has been a few days ago. Since megi rebased his THS stuff (also containing the various USB and Ethernet patches) I chose his 4.6 branch to give it a try (see commit 224550b). Hi, On the main site: https://www.armbian.com/ it says only 60 days to go for the next release :-) Well, to have a good user experience and squash bugs I think we should do a feature-freeze from about day 50 onwards - what is your take on that ? To do so, I was thinking about how you could handle this period on Github. Will “pull request’s” after feature-freeze be tagged for later integration? Everybody is welcome in squashing bugs (only the ones in code) eg. updating or adding configuration file for armbianmonitor ? eg. updating or adding information to the documentation ? I am building kernel using armbian build system for a long time, but in past two releases of current kernel (5.15.23 and 5.15.53) I am getting errors while installing: modinfo: ERROR: Module /lib/modules/5.15.24-sunxi/kernel/drivers/cdrom/cdrom.ko.xz not found. modinfo: ERROR: Module /lib/modules/5.15.24-sunxi/kernel/fs/isofs/isofs.ko.xz not found. modinfo: ERROR: Module /lib/modules/5.15.24-sunxi/kernel/fs/jfs/jfs.ko.xz not found. modinfo: ERROR: Module /lib/modules/5.15.24-sunxi/kernel/fs/reiserfs/reiserfs.ko.xz not found. modinfo: ERROR: Module /lib/modules/5.15.24-sunxi/kernel/fs/udf/udf.ko.xz not found. modinfo: ERROR: Mod…

hi, i'm pretty new to armbian, i'd like to setup a arm-gcc cross compilation toolchain in my current (old) suse-linux distribution i've read this thread which suggest to use the Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 x64 image in a virtual machine i've also read some other sites on the gcc / g++ tool chain http://linux-sunxi.org/Toolchain https://www.linaro.org/latest/downloads/ https://releases.linaro.org/components/toolchain/binaries/ https://releases.linaro.org/components/toolchain/binaries/latest-7/arm-linux-gnueabihf/ for the linaro toolchains, there are many releases the latest being 7.3.1. as of this post my qu…

Hi folks, I've done a Armbian build for my OrangePi-Plus2e this morning, and discovered that U-Boot "fdtfile" is now set to sun8i-h3-orangepi-plus2e.dtb instead of sun8i-h3-orangepi-pc.dtb as previously. Unfortunately, the sun8i-h3-orangepi-plus2e.dtb doesn't exist, I had to copy the sun8i-h3-orangepi-pc.dtb under the sun8i-h3-orangepi-plus2e.dtb name to make it boot. Where in the build process we manage to set "fdtfile" during u-boot build ? Is that done using mix of manipulations of configs found in config/boards/orangepiplus2e.conf (Zador recently changed it) Also, on separate issue, I've discovered that /usr/lib/linux-u-boot-dev-orangepiplus2e_5.20_armhf…

Hi everyone, I need to ask about GPIO pins. I have Cubieboard2 with Armbian (Jessie, Legacy) and I cannot export any GPIO pin as described here http://linux-sunxi.org/GPIO#Accessing_the_GPIO_pins_through_sysfs_with_mainline_kernel, chapter " Accessing the GPIO pins through sysfs with mainline kernel". I was able to play with GPIO this way on Cubian nicely but since Cubian is more or less dead without much support I moved to Armbian. I am able to export only pins with adress 1 or 2 as these are in the script.bin. I quite suspect that I need to change script.fex from GIT, convert to script.bin and replace original one on my Cubieboard. Am I correct? And next thing is that …

We would like to thanks all of those who participated in our small contest. Great submission! It was really hard to make a cherry pick, while the winner will be chosen by the vote. Since we only need one default wallpaper and that one must be as generic and clean as possible, this choice is as follows. Few others, which might come into action, had either too small text size, strange colors or were simply too busy. We might will add more than those five wallpapers to our desktop or use them as a boot splash. Vote will be online until 16.12. 1. Hi guys, Given the not so great durability of SD cards (and limited storage...I try to keep everything on NFS mounts, but there's always some log that decides to randomly fill the SD card full of crap), and the incapability of run properly docker (it runs, but it NEEDS to use damn local storage, and won't take an NFS mount for some reason...it gets full real quick), I was considering to boot to a iSCSI target. This would let me expand storage anytime I need, plus it would make backup and snapshots a piece of cake. Is there a way to do this?

What is the most proper way to calculate battery discharge ratio? I am trying to add this here: Load: 0.10, 0.50, 0.38 - Memory: 974Mb - Battery discharging: 30% AXP209 gives me: http://linux-sunxi.org/AXP209 - voltage - charge / discharge current Battery capacity should be the only parameter I want to set. Is there any advanced calculation script or simply, but not so accurate, direct connection between voltage and percentage?

Hi all, there is an issue with SPI on a Banana Pro (A20). I am on mainline kernel 4.5.5 now, but the problem already occurred on 3.4.109. SPI transfers are way to slow for my application, independently from the SPI clock. Investigating the SPI signals it turned out that there is an enormous delay between CS going active (low) and the transmission starting. The delay is in the magnitude of 10...20 usec which is a large multiple of the pure transmission time, so increasing the SPI clock does not solve the problem. The connected device is an SPI TFT display, so I have to send a large number of SPI words of 2 bytes each, where CS must toggle after each word (required by th…

I'm struggling with XU4/HC1 and the try to have the rootfs on a connected USB disk. All attempts end up with: Gave up waiting for root file system device. Common problems: - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline) - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?) - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev) ALERT! /dev/sda1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell! Rebooting automatically due to panic= boot argument I tried USB disks on USB3 and USB2 ports, according to leds and spin-up sound the SSDs/HDDs get power but device doesn't show up. I remember vaguely that we had such issues on other platforms where it was just a small missing bit in kernel config. But I …

I want to have a "dual boot" system with Openelec for video and Armbian for the rest :-) The boot files are named different except 'boot.scr'. So the idea is to rename it, so the right one is used and then do a reboot. Not the PC dual boot with a menu, but good enough for me :-D So I copied the files from the /boot folder to an existing FAT partition and copied the rest to a newly created ext4 partition (mmcblk0p3). I modified 'boot.scr' to this: gpio set PL10 gpio set PG11 setenv machid 1029 setenv bootm_boot_mode nonsec if fatload mmc 0 0x00000000 /boot/.verbose then setenv verbosity 7 else setenv verbosity 1 fi setenv bootargs "console=tty1 r…

Hi, not sure if this problem is related to Armbian, but in my case it occurs only on an Armian system. I have mainline kernel (4.7.x) running on a Banana Pro. wlan is configured as access point and works without any problems. eth0 is configured as client with static IP. The Banana is running 24/7, but the ethernet port is used only sporadically. The switch where eth0 is connected to is powered down most time. The problem is that eth0 forgets its IP configuration after a while, ifconfig then reports no IP address for eth0. I have to login via wlan and then ifdown/ifup eth0, then it works again. After a couple of hours (I dont know exactly how long), the IP is lost again. …

Hi! I have been using Armbian for long, but I am new to the Development/build system. I have however set the environment and I can build images. Now, I want to create a custom Armbian image with the following customization: - Separate ext2 partition for boot - second partition for LVM - Root Filesystem in Logical Volume and fixed size. - Cloud Init, with an extra partition for NoCloud Datasource. I see in the documentation how to install new packages, but not how to partition the SD card. How can I change the partitioning? On the other hand. Can I just build an image without compiling the Kernel? …

Since linux v5.4 armbian_build enables the CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED config option. Some armbian users use the soft real-time features for either real-time audio (jackd), or control (eg. klipper_host_mcu), However, real-time group scheduling, enabled by this options complicates the user space configuration required to acquire real-time scheduling in applications and daemons. Setting ulimit -r or LimitRTPRIO= is no longer enough, it is also required to allocate CPU time for RT task. In a brutal way this can be done as echo 950000 > /sys/fs/cgroup/cpu,cpuacct/{system,user}.slice/cpu.rt_runtime_us JACK documentation recommends using c…

This is second afternoon I spend trying configure wifi on headless orange pi because we started using nmtui-connect (editing /etc/network/interfaces was much more easier especially when I need make universal image for about 15 same boards). It found wifi but when I try enter password it instead shows message "Could not activate connection: No plugin │ │ │ │ supported adding this connection" I can select which wifi I want but It everytime ends with same message. I tried it on image Armbian_5.25_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_default_3.4.113.img I made no changes on this image except changing root password. User creation I canceled.

I have Armbian Jessie running on a Orange Pi Lite board and the login script is showing the local loopback ip (127.0.0.1). It appears to be doing this because /etc/update-motd.d/30-sysinfo calls ifconfig -a and pulls the first ip, which in this particular case, is the local loopback. For the orangepi-lite, i wrote the following command in customize_image.sh and it fixes the problem in this case. sudo sed -i "s/ifconfig -a/ifconfig wlan0/g" /etc/update-motd.d/30-sysinfo It basically changes the script to pull the ip address from wlan0 instead of whatever one it finds first This could also be called from the command line for the same effect instead of during compilation.…

I tried to used AppArmor under the Linux cubietruck 4.4.1-sunxi #10 SMP Wed Feb 17 17:57:20 CET 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux. But I get a kernel panic after i rebooted the system. Some questions: 1. Did you integrate AppArmor into the kernel? 2. Did you use an alternative mandatory access control? 3. Need I an additional kernel argument in the /boot/boot.cmd other than these "apparmor=1 security=apparmor"? 4. Is there a major diffenrece between your kernel and that from danad.de? Unluckily I was not capable of getting a dump from the kernel panic. If you need it, I would take a photo.

I find quite strange that CONFIG_DM_MIRROR is not set in the kernel. It makes impossible under lvm to have logical volume mirror, and I just experienced an impossibility to make a pvmove to change one drive for another one. All my filesystems are built upon lvm, the only possibility would be to rebuild a kernel. But I find it quite heavy, since I have to platforms bananapi and espressobin; and it needs to be done for each release. But why no have built dm-mirror as module with the usual CONFIG_DM_MIRROR=m ?

I've build an dev image for my OrangePi 2 (kernel 4.10) to try mainline kernel and got into troubles with onboard wifi. Let's sum up major concerns/problems and unify/create a plan of actions. We already decided to wait with mainline H3-H5-A64 ... which means old stable/legacy kernels/a10-20-xu4 (what else?) mainline should be rebuilt and what remains goes under nightly? Images can be made one board at the time, they can be made in exactly 4 days or not. Perhaps I should emphasize "approximately" more? Or remove this date since it only creates an extra pressure? Or is it ok? This should be fun. For me, most of the time is even sometimes days are wasted and frustration or stress builds up to insane levels. We know which kernels are not done and there is nothing we…

Hello. I am finished Armbian Jammy 22.05 Bulseye edge 5.16.20 gnome desktop on a Rockpi4 (rk3399). When I try to overclock from Armbian-config, it doesn't work. That is, I can enter the application, apply rockchip-rk3399-opp-2ghz.dtbo. Then reboot, go to armbian-config and set a new unlocked CPU clock speed of 2.2Ghz. But instead it is only available up to a maximum of 1.8hz. How can this be fixed? Do I have to create an image from scratch, or maybe there is some trick?

In the following window the cursor keys (arrow up, down, left, right) aren't working: the raw terminal control chars appear instead. I'm curious as to why we explicitly specify CPUMIN and CPUMAX values in the Armbian board configs, for most/all boards... These values of course propagate their way into the MIN_SPEED and MAX_SPEED settings in the target /etc/default/cpufrequtils configuration file (e.g., see lib/makeboarddeb.sh). If these values aren't specified, then the cpufreq driver will base its speed ranges on what the underlying H/W supports (e.g., specified via the board DT(s)). So...if the underlying driver configuration provides the supported speed range, then we actually need to specify these values? I ask because I'm running my H5 boards with my overlays t…

Hi guys I'm working to port the bpi-m2m to armbian. Right now i'm having a strange behaviour. I'm new to armbian development. I only use it for a npi-neo back in time. Anyway, my problem is quite simple. I have a working uboot and a working kernel (I think). the decive tree is in mainline. Looking the schematic, the DTS looks it is ok. I crated the armbian configuration, buit an image and it started "working" (you will se why is inside teh quote mark later) . Somehow i got a shell via UART. I configured the wireless AP and I got a working image. (Only BT was not working, no idea why). Due to the BT problem I decided to reboot the SBC and the problem I got b…

Hi all, I'm doing experiments with WiFi monitor mode on AP6212(bcm43430)-based boards with nexmon (driver/fw patching framework for wifi monitor mode). I tried it on OPi Zero Plus 2 (Kernel 4.14) and it works pretty much "out of the box", but sometime crashes. I'm still investigating about it, since the same fw+driver work flawlessy on RPi Is there anyone else who played around with it?

I've downloaded the latest stable Release of the source code: https://github.com/armbian/build/releases/tag/v25.8.1 When doing a Build, when it allows you to select the kernel branch: [vendor, mainline, edge], the only edge available for selection is the bleeding edge (i.e. latest trunk version). I've downloaded the 25.8.1 source code, and that's the edge version I want to compile. How do you build an image with the latest (relatively) stable edge kernel, as available in Armbian-Config? (i.e. currently v6.16.1-edge at Armbian 25.8.1)? Update #1 When compiling the image with the edge kernel, it downloaded it from the internet and i…

Hello all. Trying to get PCIe/NVMe working (even to show on microSD boot, let alone boot NVMe) on a custom compile on my Orange Pi 5 SBC version 1.3.2, because the official images aren't working either for me. No idea where to go from here and need some assistance as NVMe is required for my purpose. Here is what I did during compile.sh > Show kernel config > Board: orangepi5 > Kernel: current > Target: jammy > Image with desktop > Gnome desktop > Base configuration > Tick: Browsers > Device Drivers > PCI support > (default values) > Device Drivers > NVME Support > (default values) I used "SHARE_LO…

Hi, thanks for the efforts making armbian very well and very stable for all the distributions, I'm running with a Cubieboard 1 and other arm devices.. I don't want to disturb, but I'll be a headache to support or add in repository this old A10 device Mele A1000/A2000? I know that is old chip, but I'm feel nostalgia, because was one of firsts devices supported in linux-sunxi, and Tom Cubie worked at mele, and sell this litlle joys overseas in 2012, and there are a lot of people now that have this devices too. a lot now sure in the dust and is in mainline kernel also. Tom left Mele, and maked Cubieboard 1, this Mele A1000 I think that have the same configurat…

I found various information from various places about running minimal egl programs on the OrangePi. Suggesting I need to do things such as modify various .fex's, etc. http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=53 However, I can't seem to find anything that's up-to-date, and much less one that doesn't rely on X to run. And, I'd really like to avoid a dependency on X. 1) Is the most up-to-date userspace driver still https://github.com/linux-sunxi/sunxi-mali I find it hard to believe that that is right considering its age. It is also referenced here: http://linux-sunxi.org/Mali_binary_driver. In addition, no mali modu…

Hi all, I'am looking at creating a single unified H3 DietPi image (currently using ARMbian build tools), rather than one for each board. Would allow us to support all H3 devices, reduce work load and simplify DietPi source code. Basically I need to know if its possible, and which unique files/configurations would need changing to achieve it. The end goal: The user would download the H3 image, modify it for their board (eg: copy and paste job on /boot), prior to powering on. Some questions: Is script.bin the only unique configuration across all H3 boards? Aside from any additional linux stuff, like hardware items (eg: + onboard BT/WiFi) Does /usr/lib/linux-u…

Hi all, I tried to build the kernel on my Ubuntu 15.10 machines which uses gcc 5.2 as default compiler. As mentioned in other threads this did not work. I found out two possible solutions. Apply the following kernel patch Compile the kernel with option -std=gnu98. I therefore changed the kernel makefile. --- a/arch/arm/kernel/return_address.c +++ b/arch/arm/kernel/return_address.c @@ -63,11 +63,6 @@ void *return_address(unsigned int level) #warning "TODO: return_address should use unwind tables" #endif -void *return_address(unsigned int level) -{ - return NULL; -} - #endif /* if defined(CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER) && !defined(CONFIG_ARM_UNWIND) / else…

rpi4b8gb device. I am trying to disable wifi, bluetooth and ipv6 like I do on raspberry pi OS, but it won't play nice with me. Bluetooth & wifi I read https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Armbian_overlays/ (it says it's WIP so that might be why?) and looked for the dtolverlays I use on rpiOS: $ ls -1 /boot/dtb/overlays/disable* | cut -d / -f 5 disable-bt.dtbo disable-bt-pi5.dtbo disable-emmc2.dtbo disable-wifi.dtbo disable-wifi-pi5.dtbo $ ls -1 /boot/dtb-6.12.31-current-bcm2711/overlays/disable* | cut -d / -f 5 disable-bt.dtbo disable-bt-pi5.dtbo disable-emmc2.dtbo disable-wifi.dtbo disable-wifi-pi5.dtbo They are there, ie disable-bt…

Hello everyone, I'm in the process of building a file/download server with a Banana Pi Pro using the JMB 321 SATA port multiplier. Right now I'm just trying to build an image that will allow me to boot from an SSD, then I will deal with adding the JMB. I compiled a fresh image following the menu options after executing ./compile.sh selecting bananapi/jessie/next and it boots up correctly except it does not detect the SSD I have connected directly to the SATA port.(does not show in blkid or fdisk -l) Image name provide: Armbian_4.83_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.3.4 Going thru the kernel logs, I found this: Jan 26 20:22:03 localhost kernel: [ 3.49848…
