CNX software gave me the heads up on it, https://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=244 More or less looks like a Duo with the following adjustments: 256 --> 512 MB RAM base H2+ --> H3 (uncertain why this matters on a DIP package) Garbage Wifi --> AP6212 Other than WiFi I'm not sure I see a huge reason to go for one over the other. If you're building around a dual-inline package, multimedia is probably low on priorities. On the bright side, supporting this should be trivial if there's a demand, it should more or less only require a device tree for the wifi.

Try the demo here: https://rpguy.weebly.com/uploads/2/0/8/5/20854550/3d_intersecting_rotation.swf This is the first version and only lets you do 1 intersection, but in future versions you will be able to do many movieclip intersections.

  12. Hey folks, Wondering if anyone has come across a dual core or better single board computer that has dual native gigabit ethernet? I'm also trying to find something around $50.. so far the best I've found is the: NXP FRDM-LS1012A-PA - $50 which has good BSP and hardware packet accelerator but only single core @ 800 MHz As a last resort, I'm considering the NanoPi Neo4 with a USB to Gigabit ethernet adapter, thats about $75 with heatsink and USB 3.0 to Gigabit adapter.

I've got max 10-20 fps. On the PC I get about 30 fps with 1920x1080. ( AUSDOM 620pro ) 3) The less number of picture per seconds looks also not very good on tv screen ( very slow ). 15. Just In case anyone is interested I have pushed HTOP 2.2.1 to github, so it is possible to monitor big.LITTLE cores in real-time. You can view the big.LITTLE in action, Vcore, Cpu thermal throttling and Cpu frequency for each big or LITTLE core. HTOP is a nice console graphical tool for system-monitor, process-viewer and process-manager. DEB package and source code in case you want to extend or fix things. It has been tested on NanoPi M4 (thanks to FriendlyElec for the samples) but should work on any SBC just adjust the Vcore path for differ…

Hey, we made a tool that allows us to configure the wireless connection of a headless systems using just a smartphone. The reason was that we often ended up in situations where we prepared a headless system with our full stack (see https://nymea.io) and handed it over to someone else to just it in their WLAN. The target group are end users which are not able to use a console. In an attempt to return something to the community we've created a standalone tool for this to share it with others, BerryLan. At the moment it requires to add the nymeas debian repository and install nymea-networkmanager. You can find all the details about it on https://berrylan.app. I…

Playback is fine (hardware acceleration is supported), the menus are responsive but most addons are sluggish (to say the least). I saw various threads about kodi on armbian (e.g. this and this) and all say that the problem is lack of support of hw acceleration. I assume the more powerful cpu would help with the addons but, unless something has changed, without hw acceleration it makes no sense to even try. Is the situation the same now or has it improved? SoCs around support OpenGL ES, which is almost a stripped down version of OpenGL. OpenGL ES is mainly used by smartphone apps, but on Linux and generally on desktop computer OpenGL clients are the most common. This tutorial is very simple and will teach you on how to download and compile GL4ES (github: https://github.com/ptitSeb/gl4es), a nice piece of software that converts most OpenGL calls into OpenGL ES counterparts to achieve some degree of compatibility and let your apps run on our SoCs. HI. I have a system on emmc protected by overlayroot. Sensitive data are written to sd card. Everything works as expected. The question is: Is there a way to temporarily access the root filesystem from python script ? Of course, I can temporarily deactivate protection by ‘overlayroot-chroot’ command from terminal and make changes, but that's not what I mean. I have a web server application written in a flask framework. On one of its pages, users can set network parameters, e.g. IP, mask, dns . Is it possible at all, eg when the user accepts changes to disable protection, save changes to root filesystem and immediately enable protection ?

  39. Use case: simple NAS Boards to consider: anything with at least UASP, better yet, USB 3.0 or SATA. But stability (under heavy disk I/O and load average) matters over speed! Also, Gigabit Ethernet is a must. For all the SBC's which are listed as Supported, to what degree can I trust that I won't get kernel freezes, or filesystem errors, when disk I/O gets thick and furious? I completely understand if the disk I/O slows down to a crawl, as the load average gets high, but I'm wanting to feel assured that a board marked as Supported won't "flake out" on me, potentially destroying all my files, should I decide to use it for a simple NAS. Over and over people post things like "I have a Waveshare <XX.YY.ZZ> and Armbian can't do what the vendor kernel that uses a crap kernel full of security holes and crusty drivers can". I have now an armbian with kodi and retroarch that i'm using for test, but I'm planning to move to a more TV friendly OS as retrorangepi or h3droid. the main problem is Netflix, I should go for h3droid only for netflix app, but I want to be sure that retrorangepi and kodi works the same as on armbian/retrorangepi. and that the temps are the same. Can you help me if you had some experience? PS I know that I could run netflix on kodi but I didn't tested it. thank you in advance

Hi, I have currently a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running as WiFi access point, hooked up to the router via Ethernet. This allows me to play around and redirect traffic via TOR or whatever I can think of on the Pi. It works quite well, but I actually think the PI is possibly a bit overpowered and too expensive. Can anyone suggest an SBC that can handle the task equally well (stable + good WiFi performance for a handful of clients with connection to 50MBit/s uplink) but is less expensive? I already had a look at the Orange Pi Zero Plus 2, which seems suitable in terms of specs. Thanks, 1llusion

The company behind the Geekbox (my only SBC I still never booted ) in the meantime more known for their Amlogic Vim/Vim2 boards also joins the RK3399 bandwagon with a concept similar to Geekbox. A core module to be combined with a carrier board: Since it's just another RK3399 design Armbian support later is likely. I've been considering some options for experiments with electronic wind instruments and synthesizers, such as ZynAddSubFx, Fluidsynth. I've seen project Zynthian and they are running it on a Raspberry Pi 3, so that should be a safe choice, right? Although I'm not sure if they are using some mainstream Debian or something heavily adjusted. Also, for a wind instrument I hoped to find something smaller so I can even build it into the instrument itself; although I don't have my hopes high on that - I'm not sure if I'll find an SBC with enough power. I think that I have only two options: go with SBC with EMMC or just buy cheap 32/64 GB SSD with USB adapter. What do you think, which option gives me better durability? Can I assume that EMMC is really durable comparing to SD card? Is USB 2.0 adapter as fast as EMMC?

I just pay attention. XFCE4 and third software eg chromium in debian 9 has more errors than in ubuntu 18.04. These are errors unrelated to the armbian. Quite simply, the debian developers probably do not test their packages as accurately as ubuntu. These are the dissapearing clocks XFCE panel, the lack of the chromium minimization button, the synaptic correction not working in the search option, and so on. They do not matter to you, but they are important when used by ordinary users in production. I see that you have a lot of images doing Debian 9. If you can already consider doing images ubuntu 18.04. Ubuntu is also faster than debian 9, really feel the difference.

  68. Is there a good resource for what's currently being developed by the major SBC manufacturers? I am curious about what is being developed and when it is coming out. I'm thinking about expanding my cluster by another 10 or 20 nodes but I don't want to invest now if something great is going to be released soon. I am most interested in FriendlyARM and OrangePi boards as they seem to have a good performance/value ratio around the $35 price point but I am interested in what all major manufacturers are doing. Is there anywhere to read about development? Or is anyone here privy to what's next for low cost ARM based SBCs?

  72. Hi, as I have trouble with aging SDCards, I was thinking of getting a new SBC with eMMC (I already have Odroid XU4, but it's not cheap). I'm pretty happy with OrangePi Zero, but would love to find a SBC with a 64bits SoC, Gigabit Ethernet, 1GB of RAM (as 512MB implies swapping for my use case) and eMMC. (about 0.83ms for 60Hz AC). On the digital side they will interface to any logic level between 1.8V and 5V. The thing is I only need 2, and I have spares because I had to get 10 PCB's minimum.
