cheers, new to this, so far have created xenial core, installed virtualbox, built xenial with 4 cpu, 8gb ram, 120Gb vdk, and successfully installed armbian kernel and OS build tools. Was able to build several OPi kernels, then noticed there was only option for OPi + not OPi+ 2 and it appears to only support 1GB of the 2GB available. Its this a viable option? will it automatically do 2GB on boot or is it specifically limited? Not sure which parameters to change. Also looking for an accurate schematic of the Orange Pi Plue 2 would appreciate it if someone can send me a link. My application is to setup SPI and i2C and from weeks of reading this …

Hi, I am having a strange problem with my Orangepi One, I previously had a python script which was run on login using .bashrc. The python script controlled VLC using the python bindings and hence I could not use crontab -e or rc.local as they are run in the backgound. Previously .bashrc worked without any issues however either I updated VLC or armbian and now it does not run after I login (even using an autologin). Strangely enough however if I login via SSH the script runs. To access it I use : sudo nano /home/user/.bashrc To run the script I append to the end of the file without making any adjustments: echo Runnin…

Creating a wireless access point through armbian-config fails in the new 22.02 release for the popular TP-Link TL-WN725N USB Wifi Dongle. I am raising it here because it worked previously on 21.08. I have tracked it down to be related to a driver change. Release version 22.02 uses the r8188eu and in fact this is one of the drivers the Hotspot configuration actually warns you about. Could this commit be related? In order to overcome this I have downloaded the official TP Link driver sources. but failed to compile them because headers are missing (even after using armbian-config to install headers). I have also followed the official documentation to learn about…

When using armbian-config to select an overlay ("DTO001")e.g. for uart2, one is offered the full names w/ overlay prefix, e.g. sun7i-a20-uart2. The system adds this to armbianEnv.txt: overlays=sun7i-a20-uart2 But it has also the line overlay_prefix=sun7i-a20 In the end, uart2 is not activated (no output from /dev/ttyS1) - after changing the overlay line to overlays=uart2, I can read from /dev/ttyS1. System is Armbian 25.2.2 stable (bookeworm), Armbian Linux 6.12.20-current-sunxi.

Hello Armbian-community. I'll make this short: I've got a NanoPi M1 running with the latest available "Armbian_5.25_Nanopim1_Debian_jessie_default_3.4.113.img"-image on a 16GB Class 10 microSD. When trying to run "modprobe g_multi" as root, the following error occurs: modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'g_multi': No such device I want to have a multifunctional gadget via the OTG-port. It should mount ISO files as CD-ROM (in which I succeeded so far with: "modprobe g_mass_storage file=/home/user/iso.iso stall=0 cdrom=1 && echo 2 > /sys/bus/platform/devices/sunxi_usb_udc/otg_role") and forward keyboard strokes made at th…

Hello, I'm sort of an "educated noob" on Linux, meaning I understand about 1/2 of the postings in forums like this one. And I seem to have a problem. I am using Armbian Buster on an Orange Pi One Plus. After the most recent (to me) batch of updates, the machine will no longer boot. The error is: "Gave up waiting for root file system device." This occurs after numerous instances of "Running /scripts/local-block", (which does not seem to exist), and is followed by "ALERT! UUID=[valid UUID] does not exist. Dropping to a shell!" The "shell" it pro-ports to drop into is mythical, I assume because no keyboard driver has eve…

So when I ssh into Armbian on the OPI PC, I see the cpu temperature at 50 degrees Celsius, and the number is red (in the "header"). Should I be worried about that? 1 core is constantly at 70% (this Mycroft is a bit resource hungry), while other cores are at 1% in htop. Thanks for the help in advance! Awesome distro btw!

Hi, I am having a problem getting the graphical login to work... What I run is an ubuntu jammy image with gnome, however when I boot with my tv connected via hdmi it seems to work at first but finally I end up with a screen just displaying the above error. armbianEnv.txt contains the line "disp_mode=1920x1080p60" (a mode my TV supports), yet when the device starts it uses the 4k mode - could this be part of the problem? So how could I get this working and how would I ensure that my device only uses fhd resolution, even though my tv can also do 4k? Many thanks!

After a clean install of 22.11.1, I edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt to add: overlay_prefix=sun8i overlays=uart3 i2c0 spi-spidev param_spidev_spi_bus=0 and reboot. After the reboot I list the /dev files of interest and there is/are no "spi*" entries: pi@orangepipc:~$ ls /dev/i2c* /dev/spi* ls: cannot access '/dev/spi*': No such file or directory /dev/i2c-0 /dev/i2c-1 pi@orangepipc:~$ Not sure if it makes any difference but I only have power, HDMI, and RJ45 connected to the board at this time, and nothing connected to the GPIO pins. Hi guys, I'm a bit lost with this one. I want to setup a way of basically reinstalling a NanoPi Neo over the network. My thought process is: 1. Boot from NFS. 2. In the boot process have a script that runs the nand-sata-install.sh (or modified version of). 3. Reboot with new OS from USB. Now, I'm sure I can get this working, the bit that I am having trouble working out is how the bootloader will know if we should be loading from NFS or USB. Can UBoot grab this from the network? Ideally this will also be done without SSH access. I know this is a complicated problem but any guidance in the right direction will be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hey. I got an orange pi zero + 2 that I'm trying to run armbian on. I've downloaded the both the ubuntu and debian server, and installed to the sd card using Etcher. It boots, but when the boot process reaches "starting kernel", it reboots, and keeps in that loop. Here's a link to a screenshot of what's shown on screen just before it reboots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xt6ebsdzi0nkf19/Fil 19-02-2018 18.12.04.jpeg?dl=0 I've also tried the images listed on orange pi's own website. They boot up fine to a working desktop. Any help?

I have an Orange Pi PC that I bought from eBay a while ago and it works absolutely fine, has done for a month or so now. I have just bought 5 more from Xunlong's Aliexpress store, they arrived very quickly, however they don't appear to boot... Power rails are fine, 24MHz clock is fine, reset line is fine, fel mode registers with my PC fine, however no UART output, no apparent attempt to boot from the SD card. If boot it with the SD card in, I get absolutely nothing, if I boot it without the SD card, it gets into FEL mode and I can talk to it with sunxi-fel nick@nick-desktop:~/sunxi-tools$ sudo ./sunxi-fel ver AWUSBFEX soc=00001680(H3) 00000001 ver=0001 44 0…

Is there a way to enable it? I am missing this feature, yet I do not want to go back to legacy kernel. I tried various usb peripherals and hubs, but OTG port is not powered. Thank you.

Hi guys, I'm running Armbian on my BananaPi for almost a year now and it has always run seamlessly, since the latest upgrade to Arabian 5.20 (Kernel 4.7.3) I've started to experience problems with the stability of the daemons. Monit is doing an hard job lately restarting many times a day almost all the processes I'm running as damons, the most affected by the Killing are Python 2.7 (running Sickrage) and Deluge daemon. In particular Deluge being killed so many times a day is quite annoying since I have to recheck the integrity of many files almost every time I get the service up again. I didn't install any additional software that could have created this inst…

I know the A20 isn't really build for OC, but I would still like to do some tests with it running at 1008Mhz. As far as I understand Kernel 4.X doesn't use the fex files anymore, but rely on the dts (dtsi) files. I edited sun7i-a20-bananapi.dts &cpu0 { cpu-supply = <®_dcdc2>; operating-points = < /* kHz uV */ 1008000 1425000 960000 1400000 912000 1400000 864000 1350000 720000 1250000 528000 1150000 312000 1100000 144000 1050000 >; }; I made sure the build script doesn't overwrite the edited dts file. But BananaPi still says the max freq is 960 instead of 1008. root@bananapi:/tmp# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0…

Greetings, all! I've got a LeMaker A20 BananaPro, on which I'm using the Armbian mainline distribution (for a more complete description of my setup, please see below). Armbian seems to be the best distro to use, and I think I'm running the latest armbian version which includes many fixes. I've also updated and upgraded the os once installed to include anything fixed upstream. This is the aliexpress cam I got for the orange pi one: http://bit.ly…

In the FriendlyARM thread http://www.friendlyarm.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1427&p=5685#p5685 we did try to use A64 images from the Pine64 or the BananaPi M64 with the NanoPi A64. So I flasded the Pine64-image to a MicroSDCard and did boot. Additiionally I did see with "aplay -l" the HDMI and the analog Sound-device. But ethernet…

Hello everyone. My OP-PC is dead, with NO HDMI signal, NO console output, NO network output (LEDs off), only 1 LED is on which indicates SD card inserted (if SD card removes, it off). when use newly created SD card with Armbian, SDcard OS partition not resized. when connect to power supply, I can hear current noise. before it dies, it runs armbian server image with mainline kernel (4.14), it doesn't look like thermal fail, due to it runs very well during summer. I guess it is shorted some place, but I can't find where! so which hardware test point could I use to detects hardware failurtes.

Hello dear members, I have built complete mainkernel on orange pi zero. I compiled u-boot, busybox, mainline kernel, and obtained dtb file. So, my pure system is running now. But, I do not how should I continue? For example, how can use wi-fi, how can use gpio drivers and how can import some libs like wiring pi to my pure system. What is next for development? Best Regards.

Because today I did get my Black-Friday NanoPi Neo2 LTS 1GB I swapped my old Neo2 against this new 1Gb LTS-version. After assembling the new LTS to the fresh heatsink I did a testdrive and all went fine (network etc). So I did try to put the faceplate back on the case but it doenst fit. At the time when I did buy the case there was also a faceplate for the normal H3 Neo delivered. So for the new LTS Neo2 I had to use the faceplate for the H3-Neo, because the new LTS Neo2 has the USB-Port aligned like the H3-Neo . The old Neo2 has his USB-Port (on the main Neo2-PCB) a bit shifted against the Network-port. Also the new LTS …

Normally when you have installed a XFCE-Desktop image for the Pinebook A64 you could set the display brigthness with the following pkexec command to a readable higher level - like I did in the past (possible brightness values are 1-10 - on startup this is only set to 2): pkexec /usr/sbin/xfpm-power-backlight-helper --set-brightness 8 read-out command for the current value: pkexec /usr/sbin/xfpm-power-backlight-helper --get-brightness but on standard CLI-install pkexec and xfpm-power-backlight-helper are missing, so to use this command-line (in /etc/rc.local) you have to install these 2 packages: sudo apt install xfce4-powe…

Hallo, I hope the topic hasn't existed before .. I have an Bananpi M2+ as H5 (64bit). Good Images are OrangePi-PC2 or NanoPi K1 Plus. My problem is, no support of emmc. Are there any known compatible images for the Banana Pi M2 + H5 that work? The NanoPi K1 Plus has problems rebooting and recognizing a keyboard. The OranngeP PC2 works fine, but no emmc support. Hi, trying to start my Banana Pi Pro Board with the latest Armbian buster image (Armbian_21.02.1_Bananapipro_buster_current_5.10.12.img.xz) without success. Hi Armbians In the last years I had the pleasure to have more then 30 Cubietruck boards in my hands to work with. Condition of the boards ranged from "new and still sealed" to "working but has been running for some months 24/7 alraedy". In this time, I learned a lot about this hardware and I learned that none of them seems to be 100% like any other of them. While one board crushes immediately when the power input goes under 5V for some secounds, another board in the same condition, same CT version and production date seems not to care about this and keeps working. One of the most important points for stability is the network plug used. So what netwo…

I downloaded the armbian focal image for NanoPi NEO/Core board, and it works great. (Specifically, Armbian_20.11.10_Nanopineo_focal_current_5.10.4.img, so it's a few months old.) I'd like to start creating my own image, and I'm all setup to do that, but what I'd love to do is start from the .config file(s) used to create the image I'm using. That way I have a known base configuration from which to start modding. Are those available anywhere to download? Thanks!

I usually attach a GPS module to OrangePi One to act as a GPS ntp server . GPS serial data can use any UART port. but PPS pulse can use PA7 or UART_RTS, I most connect to PA7, works very well. Recently I bought a GPS modules for Rasberry Pi, it connect the PPS to pin 12, in One it's PD14 But when I set param_pps_pin=PD14 in armbianEnv.txt , it can't work at all . see /sys/kernel/debug/gpio , there is no GPIO 110 (PD14) at all. So don't use PD14 as a PPS pulse input.

Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to test a bunch of PCDuino3 images. Hopefully this will be helpful for someone. Feel free to double-check my work. 3.X kernels work perfect. 4.11-4.14 no HDMI Audio 4.19-5.8 there's a bug where the console won't show up if you connect a high resolution screen. It complains about not enough memory reserved for the frame buffer. So if you have a blank screen, it's possibly working, but you just can't see anything. Also, still no HDMI audio even though it's built into the kernel. 5.9-current hangs at "Starting Kernel" showing in the serial port.

I just got a Nanopi NEO2 512MB, installed Armbian Ubuntu Bionic. It works fine, except for the DVB-T/C stick. It is affected by Kernel 4.10+ problems. I wonder if I can downgrade to an older kernel, like 4.4.0 for example, where everything works perfectly? If yes, how? There is a patch that perhaps would resolve the problem, how could I apply this patch to an of the available releases of Armbian? This patch Please, help me with this. Many thanks!

Hi, I've tried to finally move on from 5.04, but the new image doesn't boot. At least, HDMI doesn't show anything and my router doesn't see the board when connected via ethernet. On the first power-on the green led glows a few minutes, then red one blinks a few times alone, then both leds blink and then only green one glows. On successive boots only green led glows uninterruptedly. Do you need any information to make it work? BTW, legacy kernel worked fine for me, except my HDD connected with hdd-usb adapter (Agestar 3FBCP1) spits errors every few seconds and performance is unbearable. Connected to my router with TomatoUSB the same hdd works fine. I hoped n…

Hello, Is possible to connect my printer to the USB OTG with an adapter ? The printer (HP PSC1215) is pretty old and doesn't have an ethernet port, so I would like to share it over network with my OPI One. The native usb port is used already. I was thinking to buy an adapter USB OTG to USB and to connect the printer here. I'm asking here because I'm not very sure how does OTG works. I'm running ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.113-sun8i. Thanks !
