Hi. I have Cubieboard 1 with Armbian Jessie installed on NAND. I've tried to disable output during boot as described here: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Fine-Tuning/#how-to-toggle-boot-output, but there are no existing boot.cmd and boot.scr in boot partition. I've found out that uEnv.txt have same purpose but it seems that editing this file doesn't affects arguments, /proc/cmdline remains the same.

I'm currently running ARMBIAN 5.25 Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.10.12-sunxi on my Cubietruck, which otherwise works fine as a headless data and media server. However, as I don't need any Bluetooth service whatsoever in the given environment, I have been trying to get rid of it - in vain. Is there a safe and lasting method of preventing the Bluetooth module from loading on reboot? Can it be stripped from the system at all completely? Many thanx in advance

Hello dear members, I have built complete mainkernel on orange pi zero. I compiled u-boot, busybox, mainline kernel, and obtained dtb file. So, my pure system is running now. But, I do not how should I continue? For example, how can use wi-fi, how can use gpio drivers and how can import some libs like wiring pi to my pure system. What is next for development? Best Regards.

I have a rev 1.4 Orange Pi Zero that overheats. I've confirmed this by touch and know it's a known problem. On the legacy kernel, setting CPU to 800 Mhz and RAM to 300 Mhz used to keep things cool. (e.g. "sudo h3consumption -m 800"). h3consumption doesn't exist on 4.14 kernels, so how do I underclock?

I am trying to get USB 2.0 port to reach maximum bandwidth with OTG port (Hi-Speed - 480 MegaBits/second) on PineCube device. Currently it is performing as Full-Speed (12.5 MegaBytes/second) usb port. I've updated all Armbian packages on my Ubuntu 24.04 system running on the Cubietruck a few days ago, updating the release to Armbian 25.2.3 with kernel linux-image-current-sunxi (i.e. I'm using the current flavor of the system). This got me the current kernel version 6.6.75. Unfortunately, since that I couldn't get the system to boot anymore, because it immediately throws a kernel panic on boot. The HDMI output doesn't show anything, so I had to attach a serial console to see what's going on. I've already followed the Recovery guide, extracting again all .deb packages and reinstalling u-boot on the SD card, and even compared the contents of /boot with t…

I downloaded and wrote the image to the SD card. I can see the U-Boot messages at the very beginning, but after a few moments, nothing is displayed anymore. I believe the OS is still booting because the activity LED on the board keeps blinking. Any idea what might be happening ? Thanks in advance for any help !

I'm running Armbian off NVMe, and flashed the U-Boot SPI firmware (u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin → /dev/mtdblock0) so I no longer need an SD card inserted just to get it booting. That part works great. But now I'd like to be able to pop in an SD card occasionally to try other distros/images without disturbing my NVMe install — and it seems that's not currently possible: with an SD card inserted, the board still boots straight from NVMe and ignores the card entirely. Dug into it a bit over serial console: The default boot_targets is fel nvme0 mmc_auto usb0 pxe dhcp — NVMe is checked before the SD/eMMC. Radxa hit the same issue on the RK3588 boards and fixed it upstre…

I've prepared a SD card for CubieTruck. I chosen Ubuntu trusty 21.5.2015,4.0.4 from the download. I followed the instruction by using "dd bs=1M if=filename.raw of=/dev/sdx" command as presented on the website. However, my Cubietruck didn't boot up. Currently, I am using Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3 and Kernel version is 3.4.79. I have already changed rootfs from NAND to hd. Do I miss some steps for preparing this SD card? Thank you very much

I had working Banana Pi -> I compiled latest kernel (all config were default) and installed it -> Banana Pi did not boot, it was stucked on "Raising network interfaces" -> I downloaded latest image (Debian Jessie) and flashed it on SD card -> Banana Pi still stucked on "Raising network interfaces". Banana Pi is connected via normal cable directly to the router with DHCP. I have also tested cable and router and tried to use different cable. I have not changed anything else.

Hi (and happy new year everyone!), I recently put a SSD in my Cubietruck and installed the Cubietruck Vanilla Image (with Kernel 4.x) on it. This is working fine, but what bugs me is the fact that I still need to have a microSD-card installed. As far as I understood, the bootloader cannot directly boot to SATA (missing drivers). How does the bare Image on the microSD-card achieve this? And even more important: How can I move the 'important' part (which does the bootloading and SATA drivers) to NAND so I can boot without a microSD-card installed? Thanks in advance!

I have been trying to get USB OTG to work for the past few days, but have not succeeded. I have enabled all of the appropriate kernel settings according to this. I modprobed sunxi and g_ether, but my laptop did not detect the Orange Pi (no change in lsusb). My laptop runs Arch Linux, if that matters (the image was built on a Xenial VM though). There is no dmesg output about this, so I do not know what I did wrong. The reason I need the dev kernel is because I am using docker.

USB-touchscreen doesn't work with Cubietruck 3.4.113. The touchscreen well works with versions 4.9.xxx, but doesn't work with 3.4.xxx. I connected the monitor 1920*1080 and a touchscreen to Cubietruck. Cubietruck smartly works in video browse mode, but the mouse and the keypad aren't always convenient for control. Especially at night, too loud clicks. I pasted a touchscreen on the monitor. It works with versions 4.xxx, but video doesn't work. And with versions 3.xxx on the contrary. What I should make that the touchscreen worked with version 3.4.113?

Hello, will there be a dedicated Armbian version for NanoPi Duo? I have tried Armbian_5.33.171013_Nanopineo_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.5.img, which worked on the Duo. Mosquitto, Node-RED and WiringOR could be installed without problems. One thing doesnt work until now is WLAN, which is not recognized by nmcli dev. Would be fine to get a validated Duo version. Hello everyone, Around July 2018 I was able to successfully build an Armbian image for NanoPi Duo using provided documentation: https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ The reason I decided to build the image was that I needed it with legacy kernel 3.4.113. For some reason there were significant problems with using the mainline kernel with direwolf application which is an amateur radio APRS modem. The device hanged with mainline kernel after few hours of operation without any reason and this was not an overheat problem (temperatures below 50 degrees and a huge heatsink). I believe that it is some problem with audio driver for H2 wh…

Hi everyone, I am using an OrangePi Zero with AllWinner H2+ and I need to catch UART1_TX and UART1_RX interrupts. I have been reading the Allwinner H2+ datasheet (http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/0/08/Allwinner_H2%2B_Datasheet_V1.2.pdf) and I have seen that UART1 interrupts are mented on PG_EINT (section 4.22.2.46) and UART Register Description (section 8.3.5) - I have no clear which registers I should configure to detect the UART1 interrupts, and how to do it. For example, for detecting Received data available, I think I should: - Enable the ERBFI bit in UART_IER register - Check IID field in UART_IIR to de…

As the title says, my OpiPC don't want to boot. It starts to boot, with UART console I can see u-boot loading and doing its job, but just when it would start the kernel the console gets borked with non-ascii characters. After this, the board just hangs there. I've tested with 3 different images (written out by Etcher), checked the images checksum and checked the SDcard with F3. This setup worked fine a month ago, when I last had the time to play with it. Since than, the board was just lying on my desk, turned off.

When the tunnel is brought up on the neo2 it seems I'm not able to get any traffic to flow i.e. curl api.ipify.org should return the public ip of the remote vpn server but it just hangs. Hi I have NanoPi-M1 board. It has two type of Ubuntu-Core as you can see here(https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3q2911p1qp33p/NanoPi-M1Board#dc73df73c6dk6) with kernels (3.4.39 amd 4.11.2). But when I try modinfo fbtft It says there is no file or directory like this! But I think it should be exist in kernels with version above 4.10. By the way, I need this kernel support to running my LCD! Are there any Armbian version like Ubunto core with this module support on kernel? Or can I add this support to yhose Ubuntu files in above link? how?

Hi, I'm using NetBIOS names when using ssh to access other CTs on my local network. Most of the CTs and other hosts are running Wheezy. Now I have a CT running Stretch and it's very difficult to access this host using 'ssh <stretch host name>' because it's not responding to the broadcas from the calling host. If I repeat the request (and broadcast for the name) multiple times then sooner or later the Stretch CT will respond in time. The timeout on the host doing the broadcast seems very short. Does anybody know where this timeout is specified and how to change it ? Thanks, Steven

We already compile & run new cocos2d-x-3.15.1 cpp project on Armbian. FPS is 30. If we make this project work on opengles, fps will rise. Have you got issue? I guess if i change this to opengl es then speed will be ok. Because on Android on same device, apk's fps is 60. Please help me.

Hello, i'm trying to make a mesh network with some Orange PI Zero devices, but ibss (adhoc) and 80211s (mesh) seem not working...with an usb wifi work fine... I have read that this device's support isn't the best, but i don't kwnow if my case is a release specific bug or these modes aren't really supported. Installed release "Armbian_5.38_Orangepizero_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14", i have also trying dev kernel but this don't load the device... What are the really working modes and valid interface combinations? Reported info by iw list command seem not correct. Thanks for the help

Dear all I have the problem that when I reboot my banana pi pro it always creates a new eth0 config. Which as default has ip4 disabled hence I cant see it directly. At the moment I always access the pi via ip6 and than delete the config via nmtui. My question: How can I turn the creation of a new eth0 config on reboot off? ARMBIAN 5.60 stable Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 4.14.70-sunxi Thanks

I have 1 "Customised Olimex Lime A20 SBC with RTL-SDR chip installed in the board (AirNav XRANGE). Currently the OS I'm using is the Lime A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84, everything is works fine except for the 2 GPIO LED. I have no idea how to let it work. I have the edited "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" from Armbian Jessie 4.11.5 which is mainly for the board. May I know is there a way to incorporated the "Armbian Jessie 4.11.5's sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb into the A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84 so that the 2 LEDs will work again? The edited dtc for LEDs to work "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" attached. Hope to get so…

Hi. Simple task: connect Orange Pi Zero+ (on H5) to TV by composite (RCA). Why? Because it haven't got any other options for video (and my relatives has TVs with RCA ;-)). I find solutions for H2+ and H3, but nothing for H5 and latest Armbian. Asking for help.

Can the Audio port on the Orange Pi Win Plus A64 also output video (like TV output)? It seems like most of the orange Pi boards with an audio jack can do this and the CubieTruck (which is an A20 board) can do the same as well. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Hi, i'am desperate with my banana-p1 M1. It is (still) running nicely with an old 'Lemaker' Lubuntu version. But its an old linux version and the are 'iceweasel' issues in combination with https. So, it's a good time to use a (much) newer version of linux. I've tried several versions/downloads of Armbian: debian, ubuntu. I've tried different (tested with F3write/read) SD cards. Used several methods to 'write' the SD-card(s), like 'dd' or the etcher-tool.... ALL results have the same problem. (i've got an picture of the screen, but i can't upload it to this forum???) In sort, it say's: U-boot 2020.10-armbian ..... Allwinner Tech... CPU: Allwinner A20 (SUN7I)…

I've been trying to bring up Armbian on my Banana Pi M2 Ultra (with A40i SoC). First I tried using the community rolling release, and then building it myself from source code. In every case, it was failing to boot; on the HDMI console it was hanging at the stage where the initrd was attempting to scan for the root partition. ("Scanning for btrfs filesystems") Taking a closer look at the verbose output of the UART console during a boot attempt, I saw that there was an error message about the sunxi-mmc device driver experiencing a failure while it was enumerating the EMMC chip: [ 4.136553] mmcblk2: mmc2:0001 8GTF4R 7.28 GiB [ 4.144362] sunxi…

Hi, I am having problems connecting my orange pi zero 3 to my TV via hdmi: No matter what I try the TV reports "no signal". Before I came to armbian I have tried the vendor-supplied debian and arch images and could not get hdmi output on any of them, so it might be that my micro-hdmi adapter is faulty or that the hdmi-port on the device itself is faulty, but over the weekend I cannot replace any hardware so I thought I try here to see if anyone has an idea on what to try. The image I am currently running is Armbian_community_24.5.0-trunk.58_Orangepizero3_jammy_current_6.6.17_gnome_desktop.img. When I log into the device I ca…

I've seen this question asked quite frequently here and all the posts end before there is a solution. I think it's time we had a crystal clear discussion on how it can be done. Not just for my curiosity, but for the people who've asked before and for the people who will ask in the future. The reason: Many hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi would otherwise be compatible with OrangePi if Armbian/u-boot didn't direct the debug output to UART0. UART0 is the most commonly used serial connection for hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi. OrangePi has multiple UART gpio so it would make sense for the O.S. (Armbian) to use the one that least impacts the…

I am using Orange PI PC for running a Deluge (torrents) and FTP server. I have noticed that when Deluge is downloading something, the RAM is getting filled up. At some point the kswapd0 kicks in and start using 100% of one CPU core. This is going on until I manually release the memory, eather with reboot or with "echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches". Here you can see kswapd0 with "top": However, the kswapd0 is not visible on htop, but it shows one core at 100%. The memory usage is 111 MB. But "free -m" command shows that 865 MB of memory is used.

Hi, I am building small file server. Is it possible to boot from mmc AND have data on sd card without the need of removing sd card on every reboot? I've installed armbian on smaller sd card, used nand-mmc-* script to write armbian onto mmc. Now, everytime I reboot I need to remove sd card, wait for system to load and put sd card back. I edited .fex file, setting sd card mode to 1, but it didn't helped. Any ideas/manuals on that? Thank you in advance.

The MAC address of your wifi port on your Orange Pi Zero probably starts with C8:27:A7:F9:xx:xx I obsfucated the last 4 digits of mine. The Ethernet Port MAC starts with : de:ae:b8:d7:xx:xx I needed this when I was trying to find the device on my network to SSH in. root/1234 It showed up on my network as a reasonably "fast" device with 0ms lag. I'm running a Cat 6 network with a gigabit switch. A nice pinout that Linux34 from Orange Pi posted.

Hi, seems after some system updates SNMP stop reporting data about storage (size/used). It happen on 2x Orange PI One and on one Orange PI PC2. Actually in monitor what I use for SNMP monitoring I see last valid data was there at 05/09. I think at this time I update all boards and as I remmember there was also some update for snmpd. Can anyone confirm this problem ? And when we talk about SNMP, what is best way to change default logging level for SNMP ? Seems changing in /etc/default/snmpd doesnt have effect and after last update I must again edit files in /lib/systemd to stop that annoying flood in log from SNMP. OPI PC2 - 4.…

After many days spent wondering why is my OPI Zero2w 1.5GB not booting some Armbian images (xfce desktop version for example), I have found there is a "bug" or difference in uboot models 1.5GB + 4GB vs 1GB+2GB. Hi every body, Tanks igor for your great job with your linux versions for cubietruck. I installed jessie with kernel 3.4. I'm trying to make a media server with minidlna. Cubietruck is connected to the router with ethernet when i'm at home and minidlna stream fine. I sucessfully installed hostapd with your interfaces.hostapd file. Ethernet plugged, i can connect to wlan0 and access to minidlna. My problem is when ethernet is unplugged and i reboot the cubietruck. I cannot access to minidlna via wlan0. I set network_interface=br0 in minidlna configuration. Do i need to manually configure dhcp or something like that?

I'm trying to use the kernel-driver (1) for a DHT11 (or DHT22) humidity sensor with my NanoPi NEO. I'm already got this sensors working with some little C example-programs in userspace. I am making some testing over A20-SOM from Olimex. I have a signal connected to NMI_N pin and with a legacy distribution, with power_start=0 on FEX, I am able to poweroff the board from command line (while the board is still powered) and then poweron/weakup the board raising up the signal on NMI_N. However, I need to do this on an armbian mainline distribution. I poweroff the board from command line (but keep the board powered), the PWR_LED keeps turn on and the board should wakeup when I turn on the signal on NMI_N and it does on my legacy distribution but not in armbian. I wouldn't ask for help here if I could find enough information to solve my problem. My program takes user-space GPIO interrupts as signals. It depends on this feature and GPIO interrupts are not replaceable. Testing code is as follows (on Pin12/PA07/GPIO7) by using SysfsGPIO: echo 7 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo in > /sys/class/gpio/gpio7/direction echo falling > /sys/class/gpio/gpio7/edge Check if it works with command `cat /proc/interrupts`: watch -n3 "cat /proc/interrupts | grep sunxi_pio" After configuration, give GPIO7 a pulse by attaching it to 3V3.
