Hi, I have Cubietrauck and I installed legacy Jessie on SD card and after configuration hostapd for using it as access point only 5 devices were able to connect to my device. After search I’ve added max_num_sta=20 but it didn’t solve my problem. I tried to use other distribution like vanilla Jessie and vanilla trusty server but I had same problem. Here is my hostapd configuration: How can I change max devices connection? Is this problem relate to the wifi module and how can I fix it?

Hi guys, Great work you are doing here, giving a second source for all kinds of fruits :-). My question: I like to have a "non desktop, no gui" = headless server with an armbian kernel >= 4.1 for the OrangePiOne to free up my expensive/more universal RPi2 for other tasks. I need a linux kernel >= 4.1, so it recognizes my DVB-C (T230) and DVB-S2 (S960/TT4600) that work with RPi2 as a headless TvHeadEnd SAT>IP server. TvHeadEnd itself works fine on your armbian kernel 3.4.110, but USB cards need a higher kernel level. I succeeded to compile myself with your tools and good explanation, got output, but the image does not startup, no video, no lights…

Hi, I use an OrangePi Zero as a race timer for a car. It is powered from the car. So when the car starts the OrangePi gets power and boots and when the car is turned off the OrangePi loses power and "turns off". This isn't ideal but I don't have a lot of options. I feel like this is a fairly common use case for electronics in cars especially ones like race timers etc. Unless I have a battery as well. I was wondering what are the best things to do to protect against the sudden power loss so that I don't corrupt anything? Is it possible to make parts of the file system read only maybe? All I do with the OrangePi is run a C++ application, it use…

I'm trying to set the Pin G11 on a NanoPi Neo, previously configured as input, to output in C++ by mapping the PIO function register into the virtual memory with mmap and setting a single bit. As per the Allwinner H3 Datasheet the following hardware addresses are specified: Similar to the Raspberry Pi's function register, the Pin knows at least two states: 000: input 001: output ... In my Script, I'm therefore trying to set the 12th bit of the PG Configure Register 1. Here's my C++ code: struct peripheral { unsigned long addr_hardware; int map_size; int mem_fd; void *mem_map; volatile unsigned long *addr_virtual; int …

Hello Everyone, I have an Orange Pi 3 and I want to wipe the default OS and replace it with Armbian. It has some foreign default OS which appears to be Android based and without a word of English. The Armbian documentation wasn't much help because it didn't provide any instructions for this sort of hardware. If any of you could give me some pointers that would be very much appreciated.

I keep my Lime2 updated with apt-get update/apt-get upgrade, but it does not upgrade the u-boot, that is still an old version: U-Boot SPL 2015.07-armbian-sun7i (Oct 11 2015 - 17:17:10) DRAM: 1024 MiB CPU: 912000000Hz, AXI/AHB/APB: 3/2/2 Because the network speed is not that fast, I suspect this could be solved with a more recent u-boot. Hello, I have the LIME2 board from Olimex (A20 SoC). I tried writing the image Armbian_5.20_Lime2_Debian_jessie_4.7.3_desktop to an SD card with dd. However, nothing happens when I plug in power (except that a red light near the barrel jack connector turns on). I tried pressing some of the switches (reset, power) but they didn't do anything either. This is the second LIME2 board I have received that just won't turn on. I have also tried with the images recommended by Olimex, to no avail. Is there something special that needs to be done that I'm missing?

I recently got an Orange Pi Zero 3W, and I noticed that the official Ubuntu image is still based on the sunxi BSP stack, using the sun60iw2-6.6.98 kernel, while the bootloader is also using an older version of U-Boot. Right now, I’m wondering whether it would be feasible to use AI agents to help compile an Armbian image for the Orange Pi Zero 3W with a mainline kernel, while still keeping the old vendor U-Boot for compatibility. Has anyone here experimented with a similar approach or have any good suggestions or ideas? I also really hope the official team can eventually provide a proper Armbian image for the Orange Pi Zero 3W, because I’ve run into quite a few i…

Hello! In order to compile software on my Banana Pi running Armbian 5.27 Debian 8, I started off uncommenting the "# deb-src" lines in /etc/apt/sources.list and then ran apt-get update and apt-get upgrade. The start screen in the shell would then ask me to reboot as the kernel was updated. But after the reboot there was no AppleTalk anymore to serve my old devices. Compiling a newer Armbian with an up-to-date version of Debian is of no use to me as I run software (A2SERVER) that is incompatible with newer systems. So how can I upgrade my system without loosing AppleTalk (which I configured as a kernel module when compiling two years ago)? …

Hello! I've built my own sbc using the Allwinner H3 chip, and I'm looking to get a custom armbian image running on it. I've already successfully compiled an image by adding a new config to u-boot and armbian-build, and a device tree to the linux kernel. Now I'm looking to get the WiFi working, but I can't seem to find where I can change its pin definitions. I'm using the AP6212: the SDIO pins are connected to SDC1 (aka mmc1) like every other board, but the WL_REG_ON (aka WL-PMU-EN) and WL_HOST_WAKE (aka WL-WAKE-AP) pins are connected to GPIO pins different from all other boards, so I'll need to change their pin assignments in the kernel manually. B…

Please help us understand how to make the graphics theme at startup and reboot.

SBC is banana pi M1 I tried the banana pi at church today, things went great as for the Libreoffice impress presentations but it was hard to navigate to menus because the banana's resolution was set to 1920X1080p. Everything was too small in the projector, we need something like 1280X1024 or 800X600. I tried `a10disp changehdmimodeforce 4` to change it to 720P, on the projector but display became unstable and I had to reboot to get it back. We have two modes for projector, VGA (HDMI->VGA converter cable) or plain HDMI. Today I tried the VGA but we can also do HDMI. Please help. Thanks.

Hi I need to execute some command when system is going down for halt/poweroff. I need to know this inside my script /etc/init.d/myScript which is called when system is going down. I used to do it by checking $runlevel variable and if it is set to 0, then system was going down for halt, it was working for instance in Raspbian a few years ago. However, in my Linux cubieboard2 4.9.12-sunxi Armbian this variable is not set, and when I execute "runlevel" command inside "STOP" case in myScript it says it is in N 5 runlevel which is not true because I have executed poweroff All tips are welcome Best Regards Marek

Hi, Just as my last post. I want to know if it is possible to wakeup opi3 after I switch its state to "mem" or "disk" using gpio on CON12. I have doing some reasch but I don't know if it is right: PL/PM port can be used as wakeup source. PF/G/H/L/M port support interrupt event. PC/D didn't support interrupt. But when I try to write a device tree file, but it just report some error with error code -22. My device three is like this: /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-h6"; /* * This fragment is needed only for the internal pull-up activation, * external pull-up resistor is highly recommended if using long wires */…

I installed the kernels from and flashed them to sd card. Then i copied the modified .ko files from image that i built for latest non-rt kernel using the compile.sh. My orange pi zero is running rt version. When i try to modprobe the modified and copied module it gives me error: modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'libcomposite': Exec format error I read that incorrect arch could cause this so i ran the file command. libcomposite.ko: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, ARM, EABI5 version 1 (SYSV), BuildID[sha1]=3a49e12c7809bbbdbdc3c5c5bd0fcd53e77dde44, not stripped i think module i built is not compatible with rt kernel i downloaded. Requirements: NanoPi Duo with test Armbian image 1 female to female jumper wire Enable SPI on boot: sudo nano /boot/armbianEnv.txt Add spi-spidev to overlays= Add line param_spidev_spi_bus=1 sudo reboot If everything worked you should have /dev/spidev1.0. Hi all, I'm trying to understand how to make an infrared tx/rx module working. This is the module: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5V-IR-Infrared-Remote-Decoder-Encoding-Transmitter-Receiver-Wireless-Module/32528109291.html Is there a way to make this works in userspace? Overlays? From the docs I was only able to understand how to enable existing overlays. I enabled cir, this is from my armbianEnv.txt: overlays=cir i2c0 but I don't know how to configure pins: which is rx which tx. Do I need to write down a new/custom overlay? I think that configuring pins is crucial to enable IR communication at some level but …

I'm using Orange Pi One with Armbiab 5.14. And trying to use GPIO (keys) for volume up and down, making game console. Of course, I could read GPIOs status by Wiring Pi, but I couldn't control volume by command. I tried amixer with various parameters, but not change HDMI volume. I'm not sure the usage detail of amixer on Armbian. Please advise me how to change volume by command. It's OK to control by C source, because use C program to read GPIOs!

Orange Pi Zero has two LEDs in the ethernet port and I want to control those leds for system notifications, right now I'm running OpenWrt on the OPiZ and I just need to know which file I have to trigger the LEDs. In GL.iNet router I can control the LEDs by doing echo default-on > /sys/devices/platform/leds-gpio/leds/gl-connect:green:lan/trigger But I don't know how to do that in OPiZ. Please tell me which file I have to edit in order to control the LEDs of the OPiZ

Hi all, I'm puzzled how everybody is building clusters of cheap SBC's, but nobody is implementing HA, redundancy, resiliency, failover, etc. They're just SBC's networked together. The SBC's are underprovisioned for Ceph, so I think that even if a Ceph configuration was managed to be shoehorned in, it wouldn't perform well. I don't know if DRDB is an option. How are people actually doing implementing real clustering technology on Orange Pi, for example? I'm using OPi+2E. Kind regards, Andrew

Hello, I own several Orange Pi 3 which I bought at different times. The last batch couldn't run the firmware I used previously: the ethernet was broken. So I suspect there is a new ethernet chipset on it. Current Armbian (Armbian_22.08.1_Orangepi3_jammy_current_5.15.63) works on both types. How could I differentiate the chipsets from the command line? Thank you

Hi guys, I tried to disable console output on uart0 using this guide https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Fine-Tuning/#how-to-toggle-boot-output But I still get boot output on uart0. Problem is, that I'm using uart0 for a java application. Java application crashes a few seconds after starting. I got the hint, that I should disable console output on this port, to make it working. See here: http://pi4j.com/example/serial.html I think that's the problem, because if I unplug my serial device from uart0, java app doesn't crash. I'm using Banana Pi. Kernel is Verison 4.8.12. Armbian is Jessie 5.24 with desktop. How can I disable the output? Yours, Martin

On other side, run on wifi when the cable was pluged out When I rebooted the pi without LAN cable, the eth0 auto activated lead to I can't access the module via wifi even though it is connected successful. I must connect via serial and disable eth0 after that I connected via wifi.

Dear community, Im trying to get an USB gadget via OTG running on Linux (OrangePI Lite 2). As OPI Lite 2 doesn't support 'USB-UART/Gadget mode' like OPI Zero, I just modify the build config and rebuild kernel by myself as steps shown below. 1. I change the mode of USB from host to otg in the: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/patch/kernel/sunxi-current/board-h6-orangepi-lite2-fix-missing-all.patch 2. I add MODULES_CURRENT="g_serial" & SERIALCON="ttyS0,ttyGS0" to build/config/boards/orangepilite2.conf file. 3. I rebuild the kernel and flashed the new image to sdcard. Unfortunately, I find it…
