Hello everyone! I have a Cubietruck Allwiner A20 with 8G sdcard with Armbian 5.04 Debian 8 ( Jessie ) 3.4.110 - sun7i . When you start Cubietruck with sdcard Connected , I run the script /usr/lib/nand-sata-install/./nand-sata-install.sh to copy the image to sdcard NAND . The same performs all the procedures without any error until the moment of PowerOff . When turning off the disconnect sdcard and turn again , though the S.O does not start. It is as if he had not copied anything to NAND , as if empty. Has anyone had this problem ? Grateful for the support of the whol…

The current image for OrangePiLite2 Armbian Bionic/Stretch not booting I tried, Armbian_5.64.181019_Orangepilite2_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_4.18.15 and Armbian_5.64.181023_Orangepilite2_Debian_stretch_dev_4.18.16. I just updated two Orange Pi One boards and rebooted them to get to the new kernel only to have them boot loop. I know, development, not supported. I'm not asking for a solution, I'm just alerting people to the situation so they can avoid messing up their boxes. Console log attached if you're curious. orangepione.txt

Hi, am new on orangePI, Hope my question is not to dumb. I am using the Armbian_5.05_Orangepih3_Debian_jessie_3.4.110.raw image. Kernel is Linux orangepipc 3.4.110-sun8i #18 SMP PREEMPT Tue Mar 8 20:03:32 CET 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux I want to access a serial device connectet to the pins 8 and 10 on the GPIO connector, described at uart 3. /dev/ttyS0 is the 3 connector pin close to the power plug. there is no /dev/ttySn with n>0 and the /dev/ttyGSn are also not the ones to use. How can I create the right device? Same about the IR receiver, Is there any device that represents the IR receiver? Are there modules to load? thanks a lot for help

Banana Pi M1+ There is a very strange issue using SPDIF and/or I2S output. ( mpd, alsa, Armiban 4.4, kernel: 3.4.109-banana ) When starting play a new audio track, the left and right channel random swapping. Upgrading Alsa mpd does not helps. It looks this is known, a kernel level problem. for example: http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2011-February/037038.html Any suggestion how can I solve this issue? Thanks in advance!

Let's say I'm deploying hundreds of warehoused devices employing an H5-based Orange Pi Zero Plus, and I need a reliable distinct identifier for each. In another application we're using the MAC address, but that seems not to be EEPROM-ed on the OPiZ+. So, okay, SOC Unique ID has been mentioned elsewhere (MAC generation on the OPiZ+), but where is it available? cat /proc/cpuinfo does not include "Serial". lshw has a "serial" but I'm not sure that's reliable (I've got a Beaglebone that doesn't show one - and it says /proc/cpuinfo Serial: 00000000). So what's a good low-cost (i.e. not by launching Perl scripts) way to obtain the unique CPU identifie…

Hello everybody I expose my problem ... Hi, I just bought an RTC module for my Banana Pi M2, but when scanning for i2c devices I noticed that there are no i2c device nodes in /dev using the latest Armbian version (5.15). Is there any way to get it working? Modprobing i2c-dev or any other modules I've found didn't help Thanks in advance!

Hi to everyone, I'm new at armbian forum, but following the project since some month. As far as I can tell all contributors make a great job to enable a stable debian based distribution to many as possible arm-based boards. Thanks a lot for this great job. I bought one of the first available Banana Pi M3-boards in Germany, because I wanted (and did it already very successfully) to set up a small server for email, music storage, mythtv-backend, read out my central heating.... Until now I use a stripped down image based on the provided Ubuntu 16.04 image from http://www.banana-pi.org/m3-download.html As you all know the "support" and further developmen…

When I try to read the input on PA19 immediately goes to "1" even though there is no voltage being sent to the pin. Example: #!/usr/local/bin/python from pyA20.gpio import gpio from pyA20.gpio import port pin_to_circuit = port.PA19 gpio.init() gpio.setcfg(pin_to_circuit, gpio.OUTPUT) gpio.output(pin_to_circuit, 0) gpio.setcfg(pin_to_circuit, gpio.INPUT) print(gpio.input(pin_to_circuit)) I don't understand why this would put "1" with nothing even connected to the PA19 pin? Are there some settings I need to change to get PA19 working as a normal GPIO pin?

I need to attach some devices via spi and i2c to an orange pi zero but would like to keep it in its original case. Just soldering a few wires to the gpio pins and drilling a hole in the case isn't really an option. I am looking for a nice and clean way. Browsing through AliExpress looking for connectors has not revealed any suitable options so far. I already thought about adding an 2.54mm 2x26 Pin Male Double Row Right Angle Pin Header and cut a suitable hole to the case but I guess it would protrude too much. Which connector do you recommend? It should have at least 4 contacts. Has anyone modified the case and added some small connectors? Photos? Lookin…

As title says, how to install image on eMMC on this board? My board works fine on TF card with every image FriendlyElec, DietPi and you here provide, but i haven't managed to make it boot from eMMC. On official Wiki there are some misleading. For Ubuntu they say to select image from eflasher and burn it on TF card. Eflasher folder has two images. Which one? Although i tried both. Anyway, if i burn boot image on TF card, should eMMC stays empty or to burn on it, say, root image? Or to burn root image on TF? I had a few attempts but no luck. Obviously. On Android, they say to insert TF card into PC and burn image on eMMC? LOL. Again should i burn any…

Hello, I'm trying to install Armbian to my Orange Pi Zero. I tried stable (5.30), dev (5.30 and old (5.24 from January 2017) versions of Debian and stable version (5.30) of Ubuntu. They all have the same problem. I log in from ssh using root/1234. Then I get prompted for password change. I enter the old password, new password twice, then I get logged out without any error message. When I try to login again, the password is unchanged and same prompt screen. I tried to write the images to my sdcard using dd, gnome disks, etcher. dd was not working at all, but the others have the problem I mention above. I was worried if my sdcard is not s…

Before installing this Armbian legacy kernel (3.4.109), I was using a Bananian-based image with OpenMediaVault (the so called BanaNAS image) and was getting regular 30MB/s transfer rates to my Samba shared hard drives (USB and SATA). My PC and Banana are connected through a gigabit switch, and working at 1Gbps. After installing and configuring the new Armbian image, I notice my transfer rates were now around ~23MB/s which was odd. After trying to change some smb.conf parameters and getting nowhere, I decided to test just the network performance by setting up a simple web server on my PC and doing a wget -O /dev/null http://<my PC-IP>/test.zip of 3Gb. The values …

Hello, I bought an orange pi plus 2 and connected it to the power supply, the android that is already installed recognized the mouse and keyboard without any problem. I tried to boot the ARMbian using the version I was given, the orange pi plus 2e version, because there is no direct support for the orange pi plus 2. The BOOt works without any problem, but when I create the user, the system doesn't recognize my keyboard or mouse and I get stuck on the creating user screen. I'm using a 5V/3A power supply and a bluetooth mouse. Can anyone tell me if this is a kernel bug or am I using the wrong version to BOOT?

I'm trying to add concurrent mode to the wifi driver on an Orange Pi PC Plus running the latest stable distribution of Armbian, but running into an "invalid module format" error due to the kernel version not matching the source version I'm using to recompile the wifi driver. I installed both the source and header files from armbian-config. The kernel version is 4.19.59 according to uname -r. This apparently is the linux-image-next-sunxi image, according to `apt-cache search linux-image | grep 4.19.59`. However, the source for the next-sunxi branch in the repository is 4.19.57, not 4.19.59, as `apt-cache search linux-source | grep next-sunxi` gives: linu…

Hi. The following happened. When power is suddenly cut off in emmc, the file contents created by fopen (), fprintf (), fflush() and fclose () are not saved after rebooting. It seems that it has not been physically written out while being cached. If display the file before cutting off the power, the contents are correctly saved. In addition, if it is normally reboot it is saved correctly.

Hi Everyone. I intend to use this sbc with a hdmi to lcd controller (not yet arrived). I noticed the predefined resolutions do not include 1366x768. I tested on a smart tv and I with the closest resolution of 1360x768, there was a vertical purple line on the left. I could probably live with the slightly lower resolution, however if the purple line appears on my final setup, how do I remove this or is there anyway to run the full 1366x768? I have tried 1280x720 in windows and it blurs the text so that seems to be out of the questions for me. Regards, Rauli

Hi, I'm using a xenial system with Kernel 4.9.11-sunxi on LIME2 (actually it's an Olimex A20-SOM with external RTL8211 PHY) and trying to prevent the ethernet from coming up on boot. When turning the system on, the ethernet interface will assign a random MAC address; later on my script sets a proper MAC from an assigned range. Until then the eth0 interface must stay down to prevent the network from being spammed with bogous messages. This is because the ethernet interface chooses a random MAC address when the system boots up; later on a script sets the proper MAC address from an assigned range (along with IP and route configuration); The link must stay down un…

Hi, I am running Armbian Jessie (4.11.6-sunxi) on Banana Pi M1. For reading and writing SD cards I use linux dd cmd on another box. I do not have a Windows system. My question is this: My SD card is a 16Gb device. With gparted I can reduce the size of the system to a partition that would easily fit on a 4Gb device. But when writing the .img file dd will still see and write an image of 16 Gb There must be a way to make an image that can be written to and booted from a smaller device to save resources on the backup disk. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

I use the HDMI screen, because the kernel sets vedio output is HDMI 720p by default. when running , i can see the debian GUI in the screen. After that, I got the Armbian_5.20_Micro_Debian_jessie_3.4.112.iso, and dd the image into the SD card. The board can work. I can login into Debian by ssh. In boot procedure, I can see the boot information on the HDMI screen, but after boot finished, the hdmi screen only display blue. Because the kernel does not output signal to HDMI interface. I input the command by SSH t…

Dear Armbian Zen Masters, Please, help me turn on bluetooth on my Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H5 board (running armbian focal server). This board is up to date (apt update and upgrade). I've enabled bluetooth support from armbian-config on this board. But, bluetoothctl is not working (gets stuck in waiting for response on command execution). Wifi is working fine on this board. (I could easily use bluetoothctl on my khadas vim3 pro board with "current armbian xfce desktop" on it) Waiting for your response. (Please, find the relevant board info below.) Thanks in advance, Spherulite. -------------------------------------------…

I live in the desert in California and the only Internet access I have is using PDANet on my phone. Is there a way to build an SD Card using rufus (which is a great app by the way) that I can use to load LXDE on my Olimex Micro? Once I get the desktop loaded I will get PDANet working on Olimex, but this seems like the lessor of two evils. I have both Jessie and Wheezy working and I'm still running off of the SDCard's. I have SSH working in both versions if that helps. thanks in advance. Mike

I'm trying to get audio out work on Orange Pi Lite using HDMI. aplay -l lists sndhdmi as card #1 and I have set it up as default in ~/.asoundrc. aplay -v shows it being used, but my AV receiver doesn't recognise the Pi nor output any sound. The same cable & receiver works fine with e.g. Macbook Pro. Should the HDMI audio output work in the legacy Jessie server image for OPi Lite? If yes, how could I debug more why it doesn't seem to work?

Hi all, today I tried ubuntu xenial (dev) with kernel 4.9.4 for OrangePi Plus2. seems to work fine, but the screen resolution is 3840x2160. That is cool but a smaller resulution would be better. I tryed to change the screen settings over Settings -> Display, but it is not possible to change the values there. I also tried it with: sudo h3disp, but it is not installed on my system. What is the best way to change the screen res?

I'm getting logspam from RTL871X running buster on my OrangePi Plus 2e. I'm not using wifi on this so I guess I could just disable/blacklist rtl871x to stop this? Hello Everybody I'm using olimex olinuxino lime2. I'm to expiriment on real time linux. I could build the kernel with the real time patch by disabling newer kernel patches, .108 and on, but I would really like to have a ticking system. There are not options for this in the kernel menu configuration. Just tickless system. That may cause some extra delays on realtime processes. Is there a way to configure tick frequency at 1khz? Thank you for your time

Good afternoon. I have an Orange Pi One and I need to achieve the maximum boot speed. The ultimate goal is a kiosk mode and the only application on the QT. The network is not needed. The simplest way will probably be to change the run level to the single mode, but with this there are problems. Any tips, suggestions, experiences?

Hi, I built Armbian (bionic) from source for Orange Pi PC 2 and everything went through fine. I burn to SD card and load it on the board and it boots well. Then I use "root" to login and forced to change password from default 1234 to somepass. Everything seemed fine until I tried to login with the new password (old password failed to work anymore). The errors are in following screen shot. Kinda new to this stuff, not sure how to fix it. Tried to connect to serial port but somehow a couple of TTL cable all failed to work. Still struggling. I installed Armbian xenial 3.4.112 on an Orange Pi PC in July of 2016. It ran non-stop until sometime in February. I realized it was no longer sending data to the internet. When I checked, the Orange Pi PC was still powered. However, the green+yellow ethernet LEDs were both blinking together at what looked like 2sec intervals. After only a short time of running, the CPU was already 84C. When I originally had put the Orange Pi PC into service, it would remain close to 43C. I connected a monitor and keyboard. It booted and a look at syslog showed the eth0 was looping on `DHCPDISCOVER`. I tried `ifconfig etho down` and `ifconfi…

Hi, I'm using Orange Pi 2E+ with 3.4 Multimedia kernel (intend on using Kodi) I have a DVI monitor I want to use, and a crappy HDMI > DVI adapter which for some reason doesn't let computers know that the DVI monitor is connected to their HDMI port Confirmed on 2 different computers. The adapter probably lacks the hotplug-detect pin because computers don't know there's a screen connected, but the screen will show an image if I force my laptop to send a video signal out it's HDMI port using xrandr. Hi All First post here. Have been using Rpi Zero 2W for a couple of years in various installations and other then speed been happy with it. So got an Orange Pi Zero 2 W in an attempt to use it as a plug in replacement for the Rpi. Installed Armbian and other than a booting issue, it all works. The first obstacle is the i2c, it is obvious that is nowhere near as easy as a Rpi to set up. I have read many posts and get more confused as the days go on. So, the question: Is there a step by step instruction on how to enable I2C. I am connecting 2 x ADS1115 A2D converters, one at &H48 and the 2nd…

Also strange is that one is shown as wlan1, but the other as wlx<macaddress>. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

Hi everyone, I have an orange pi pc+ (also a orange pi one) and i'm trying to use one of them as a wifi-wifi router. Hi! I thought, I might save some energy by using a Sinovoip Banana Pi M2+EDU (it is like the M2+ but no WiFi and no display (EDIT: I mean 8 GB EMMC) and 512MiB DRAM) instead of an Atom N270. After first attempt i added overlays=uart3 to /boot/armbianEnv.txt and rebooted the system. oot@orangepioneplus:~# cat /boot/armbianEnv.txt verbosity=1 bootlogo=false console=both disp_mode=1920x1080p60 overlay_prefix=sun50i-h6 rootdev=UUID=d7bd3629-b17f-4c85-9031-909157a0ce7e rootfstype=ext4 overlays=uart3 usbstoragequirks=0x2537:0x1066:u,0x2537:0x1068:u Then i also executed update-initramfs -u and rebooted the board. None of these are helped I wonder what i am doing wrong? I see the following in the logs: root…

Hi I would like to communicate whith an arduino(as receiver) with RF 433. On a first thought I wanted to use rc-switch lib, do you know if there is a way to use it with the PI zero(transmitter) once I have installed the wiring pi zero? if not what would be my best choice as library for OPIZ (and arduino as receiver)? As MCU are better choices to drive hardware part, would it be a good idea to interface OPIZ with a ATMEGA328 as a SPI slave which one would drive the 433 RF emitter with the rc-switch lib above? This would be the overkill situation as I'm new to SPI (and OPIZ). thx

So, the Linux Kernel 4.6 is out. Supposedly it comes with a lot of new ARM processor support. I'm excited about this. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to kernel development, especially with ARM devices. I guess the question is, what's it going to take to move the devices that use these supposedly newly supported chips up to 4.6? I'm somewhat keen on updating to a kernel that isn't approaching EOL.

Hi, as many did, I've bought a (CSI) OV5647 camera from AliExpress and am struggling to get it to work. Been at it for a week now and am at a loss. So i'm trying to get some clarification via this thread on how to get this camera to work. What I've done so far is to compile a mainline kernel (Ubuntu Bionic) and edited the kernel config file to include sun6i_csi and ov5647 driver. Build finishes successfully and am able to boot and load the drivers Unfortunately the OV5647 isn't recognized and /dev/video0 isn't created. Second build included a userpatch I've found online which i applied to no avail to the kernel https…
