Hello, I have problems with the u-boot both with the prebuild "Armbian_21.05.1_Nanopineo_buster_current_5.10.34" image from the armbian.com and with the "Armbian_21.08.0-trunk_Nanopineo_buster_current_5.10.59_minimal" image built form sources . First of all, the u-boot versions are different. The prebuilt image has "U-Boot 2021.04-armbian" and the second one - "2020.10" The board boots ok with the both images, but the u-boot does not see the SD card properly and is not able to load the environment file from it: "Loading Environment from FAT... Card did not respond to voltage select! : -110" Is there any fix for this problem? Thanks, …

Hi, in an attempt to add new information and correct conflicting information over at the bottom of https://linux-sunxi.org/SID_Register_Guide#Currently_known_SID.27s it would be great if as many owner of Allwinner boards could execute most recent sbc-bench version and post/share the result link here (ix.io/sprunge.us) https://github.com/ThomasKaiser/sbc-bench#execution The new sbc-bench version always lists the SID identifier next to the SoC so that it reads as follows for example: SoC guess: Allwinner H6 (SID: 82c00007) Especially boards with 64-bit SoCs like H618, H616, H6, H5, A64 but also R40/V40 and exotic varia…

Hi all I'm trying to set up a samba AD domain on a BananaPi M1+ running Armbian 5.31 (Debian Jessie) but fail miserably when trying to provision the domain. Looking for any means of finding a unique and permanent MAC address for opilites. Is there some kind of serial number or other unique number of any kind in an H3 SOC or in something on an OPI Lite board that could be used to derive a MAC ? As things currently are I either have to manually setup the mac for each board I build - in a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d or live with the fact that the board comes up with a new mac/ip with every boot.

Hello, I'm starting in this world with an Orange Pi Lite, but I'm not being able to perform the initial setup using serial console gadget on the OTG port. To prevent power problems, I'm using the DC input. Unfortunately I haven't found enough information to make the configuration on a Linux PC, since I wasn't able to know the /dev address to connect through screen. You've probably noticed that my knowledge of Linux is rather scarce. Thanks in advance!

I'm running an OrangePI PC with legacy Jessie server and armbian 5.23 and kernel 3.4.112. I never seen the ouput through the HDMI monitor. It's always without signal, even at boot when uboot start. I have tested Armbian_19.11.3_Orangepipc2_bionic_current_5.3.9 and Armbian_19.11.3_Orangepipc2_buster_current_5.3.9 images from the official download site. The Debian Buster image is fast and stable. The Ubuntu Bionic build have random hangs on different boot positions. Sometimes works, but after reboot it hangs again randomly. I have burned the the images to the same microsd card. (Toshiba 32GB) I have tested with other microsd cards like Sandisk Extreme 32GB, Samsung EVO+ 32GB. I have the same results. The power supply is enough for the board. (5V 4A) This is not my first orangepi board, so I know how to burn the images to the sdcards. screenlog.bionic.0 (problems)…

Hey guys, Firstly thank you very much for that amazing project and giving life to our opis. I really like armbian jessie desktop but I prefer ubuntu based distros. I find an xenial image from the armbian site and install-upgraded. Then I installed lubuntu-desktop. Looks very good seems very fast and smooth but I can't listen musics with audacious. Sound comes distorted and laggy. What can I do to get armbian desktop quality playing video and mp3 files.

Hello ! I recently reimaged my BPi M1 with the vanilla headless Debian Jessie from Armbian. But I have two problems: Main problem (the worst): I have a RAID SATA to USB enclosure (this one: BS-EHD-35/DUALB). After some times and randomly, the drives stops spinning and the enclosure stops itself. I've disabled any power management on hard drive, setup a cron job to write a file every 5 min, disabled autosuspend in usb core... I didn't have this problem with the legacy kernel. I cannot downgrade to it, because I'm using BTRFS with some non-compatible extensions. Note: this is a server with apache, Deluge, Plex and Sonarr. Side problems (I can live with if the first is O…

Hi, I try to play with Armbian Stretch mainline kernel 4.14.y on Orange Pi Zero and need for my idea sf funktion (SPI) and i2c in u-boot terminal. I've build mainline U-Boot but the files in /boot directory from armbian looks so "strange". There is any description how to replace the files or make changes. Thanks for help. P.S. I'm not sure if this is off-topic, but I'd like to ask the forum about a problem. My goal is to run RPi-Cam-Web-Interface (http://elinux.org/RPi-Cam-Web-Interface). I have 5.20 Jessie server 3.4.112 that has been updated/upgraded on an Orange Pi One with a gc2035 cam on an expansion board from aliexpress. As a first step I got the cam working. There are some threads in this forum that made that easy. I then installed github.com/roberttidey/userland since it includes raspimjpeg - a key element in the RPi-Cam-Web-Interface toolchain. But when I run raspimjeg I get the error * failed to open vchiq instance Google has solutions that involve permissions…

Hi, Good people of Armbian-land! First of all, thank you all for the awesome work you've been putting into Armbian. I recently purchased an Orange Pi PC, for which I'd like to use the Ubuntu desktop image, since I need the HW acceleration features. I tried using Mainline briefly but after confirming that the performance is just not there without the Mali drivers (as suggested by the description, so no surprise there), it seems Legacy is my only viable option. Which would be fine, but the monitor I'd like to use with my setup doesn't work with legacy (it works fine in Mainline). Also a sidenote: I connected the monitor using an HDMI-VGA converter. I set th…

Hi, I have recently called apt-get upgrade (with my regular installation and also with a fresh one) and after trying to extract armbian-firmware (I think it was that name but I'm not totally sure) dpkg returns an error. All other packages are installed without error. Unfortunately the OrangePiLite then hangs on next boot. I guess this package is broken in the repositories? Has anybody else encountered this issue?

I use a NEO2 (H5), with armbian linux 4.19.13-sunxi64, and have a StarTech usb2.0 to Gigabit-ethernet adapter, which I plug in the usb slot of the NEO2 and which gives me a new additional ethernet interface. iperf3 on this interface (against another NEO2 with its generic gigabit interface) gives maximum 111 MBit/sec, even with the tips in https://forum.armbian.com/topic/7001-slow-usb-speed-on-h5-devices-orangepi-prime-probably-cpu-governor-related/ (which actually dont change much) Using a raspberry pi (2B) with the same adapter and cable I get 170 MBit/sec, which is significantly more (although still not what one should hope for, which is up to 30…

I've had an Orange Pi 3 LTS for a couple of months now. I bought it for use as a home theater tv box. I thought I'd use the official orange pi ubuntu release, but it turned out to be really outdated and broken. So I have been trying to get Armbian to work. After a lot of troubleshooting and time spent reading docs and forums, I can't get the thing to play video properly. It plays but is terrible quality and stutters constantly. I've determined that panfrost is working. In orangepi-config, under Hardware, it says the GPU is enabled. But when I run glmark2 I get a score of 100 or less no matter what I do. I've tried old builds of armbian for the pi 3 lts and the…

I'm going to use MIPI DSI LCD with OrangePi Win. In default configuration MIPI DSI is disabled. I activated Samsung DSI panel in kernel configurator. Hi, I'm using the Igor-Image: Linux cubieboard2 4.0.5-cubietruck #12 SMP Thu Jun 11 19:18:02 CEST 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux I installed a program that is using a PID-file, normally under: /var/run/fhem/fhem.pid I created a sub-folder and changed the owner and permissions. With the next reboot, all changes where lost. I noticed that the /var/run is linked to /run and this is a tmpfs. So, is there an option to add a subdirectory permanently to /run? Alternatively I will add a short script, that will do these operations after reboot, but in my opinion, that is not the fancy way... greets brenndorfler

Hi, I am new here and searched the forums for an answer to my questions regarding the NanoPi NEO2 and NEO Plus2. Most answers I could find, but a few were left open. The NEO Plus2 is marked as WIP. Why? What do I have to expect not to work? Both boards are similarly old, from what I could find. Will the Plus2 move up to "supported" eventually or does it currently more look like the route is going towards CSC? Do common features like GPIO access, SPI, I2C ... work with current images? Do specific features where the Plus2 differs from the NEO2 like WiFi, Bluetooth, ... work? I already found out, that the second USB port should work…

I have a big problem with the latest Armbian images, the problem not only persists with the latest versions, with the previous one the same thing happened to me with the old Ubuntu images, it works without problems with the old kernel, I have a video published with the problem since it works but at certain times the device turns off and does not turn on a single LED light until I reconnect it, I thought it was a problem with the power supply but not with the old Ubuntu images it works and even with the game emulators of the lakka-tv image, so I came to the conclusion that the hardware is in good condition, therefore check what the fault could be because the computer usual…

I'm thinking of getting a 128GB microSDXC card (Samsung EVO) for my Cubietruck. Is this likely to work or is 64GB a hard limit? Of course, I intend to put a sane filesystem on it, like ext4.

I've created an armbian minimal image for my pinebook with luks encryption. It works fine but I cannot see the password prompt on screen... the boot process is: * The armbian uboot is displayed * Then a black screen... After a few seconds I'm assuming it is time to put my luks password, so I do it * Then the screen starts to show the boot text Is this expected? Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to install plymouth, just the usual LUKS password prompt. Thanks!

For some days now I have the board mentioned in the subject, the goal is to have a webserver, git server, and maybe lateron something like a mini-personal-cloud for my family. Yesterday me and my brother finally decided which OS to use - and dd-ed the SD card with the Armbian/Debian Vanilla Jessie Server image (Armbian_5.10_Lime2_Debian_jessie_4.5.2). Some hours later after installing apache2 and trying things out I thought it would be a good idea to do an apt-get upgrade for security reasons before exposing the server to "the world". Unfortunately it was not: The device is not booting any longer after the upgrade. This is the log output of /var/log/apt/term.log (I moun…

Anyway android is the only way to get net into this system.Well of course I have to figure out a bit , stay up some nights. I have myself why keyboard gave wrong keys. it is very usable now except that it needs some gpu acceleration, and more of a GUI presentaion. My HD display needs some good video rendering .Anyone, tell me how to copy paste in terminal, also I kept my screen at 1080p , I think it is not appropiate.Text in terminal are so small. I had an annoying issue with the WiFi of this board with Armbian 5.65 Ubuntu and Stretch. Sometimes it would spontaneous lose its WiFi connection. After researching it for a while I noticed that the wlan0 interface sometimes lost it's IP address. At first I thought it had something to do with the DHCP lease or sleep mode of the adapter. I just couldn't get my head around it and I ended up removing network-manager and going back to creating an interfaces.conf file for setting up my network interfaces. Somehow this solved the issue, the WiFi connection hasn't failed since! To do this, first create the wpa supplicant configuration file: ~# …

Greetings all! I'm working to get my BananaPro (LeMaker board) up and running with Armbian 5 (Armbian_5.04_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.4.3.raw) just downloaded to a fresh SD card. Hello, I use Orange Pi Zero + 4 ports USB hub + CM108 USB-Audio cards with mic-in. All by default. I just tried my Orange Pi PC with a Samsung TV connected via the HDMI port. I'm able to log in to the desktop OK, but when screen updates happen (e.g. when I scroll around in the web browser) the display goes black momentarily, then comes back after a fraction of a second. This seems to be worse for some applications (e.g. the web browser) than others (e.g. terminal), and so far I haven't seen it while not running X. Also, playing videos (with mpv) does not cause it. I'm running this image with no customisations: http://image.armbian.com/Armbian_5.20_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.7z Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi guys, I have just completed to build my "development workspace" including OpenCV, Qt5 and working OV5640. I've noticed that people reach about 30 fps of the frame rate using VGA/QVGA resolution. Datasheet says about 120 FPS for QVGA and 90FPS for VGA. I was working with this camera chip on STM32Fx and I got much better results than OPI0+ Is it weird, it is? I am wondering what is a limitation to get better performance and quality on this camera. I plan to write drivers myself, however I want to be sure it is only driver limitation. Any advice will be appreciated.

I've posted this on the Orange Pi subreddit here: https://redd.it/5bqnghbut figured a more active community might be better. I am using my Orange Pi Ones for SETI@Home, I also use Raspberry Pis for the same purpose. I've noticed since, around, Armbian 5.20 that SETI@Home(BOINC) won't stay running for any more than 6-12 hours. It's being sniped by Out of Memory. I've tried a few things, posted on the subreddit, but here is the short list: Logged Memory ---> Can dip below 100MB during usage but not often Enabled Swap/Increase Swappiness---> 0 to 10 (I don't care about SD Card life) Adjusted BOINC/SETI to use 75% memory None of the above seems to have helped. Hello to all I am using Debian Jessie 5.25 on OPi PC+. And using rpi-monitor for monitoring stuff. Hi! Upgrading to the mainline kernel removes /dev/snd/seq, which is needed for MIDI applications. Synthesizers are my main interest in using these boards, so that is a big loss. Greetings all. I am having no success getting access to gpio pins in NR using opi-gpio. I am trying to re-build a system that I messed up due to an update. The update broke access to the 1-wire host adapter I had running on I2C. Hi all, I'm new here at the Armbian board. I operate a self made house automation based on a Raspberry using a self written PHP server and Homegear. To have a better wireless connection to a differential temperature sensor, I built a Homegear Gateway based on a Nano Pi Neo with Armbian OS and a 868 MHz CC1101 module. For the network connection I use a Realtek USB WLAN NIC (Realtek RTL8188EUS-Chipset). Most of the time the gateway works. But around 2-3 times per week the gateway hangs and I cannot log on anymore. A hard restart by unplugging power is required. The only indications I find are 2 dumps of the RTL8188EU driver in kern.log…

Hello everyone, I have an Orange Pi Lite and I have a problem when I try to shut down the system, I receive stack errors. I've recorded a video to see if it detects what the problem is, I'm new to armbian and linux in general. Except for a bug that occurs in the partition several times (on two different microsd cards), I do not know what the problem might be, I read that it could be a kernel bug, but I'm not sure. I put the video link to see if anyone can help me, it is slowed down so it can be read. If I do not try to turn it off, everything works fine, but when I try to turn it off, it gives the errors and restarts as seen in the video. Thanks in advance. …
