Hi all, Igor: I wanted to say many thank you and congratulate for the awesome job you made with armbian! I have a little big problem: I'm using the BPI-R1 (a.k.a. Lamobo R1 Linux version 4.2.0-sunxi (root@kitchen) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.8.2-16ubuntu4)) but out of the blue I got the well known problem of the RCP reset to the 1970. I followed the instructions reported here https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues/111#issuecomment-145634651 but I got some strange issues 1) If I plug my USB keyboard I cannot interrupt the boot process to get a shell before the kernel loads. 2) If I change my boot.cmd and update the boot.scr settings with verbosity=9 an…

  6. Hi, during the spring I used h3disp - 720p50 -c 1 (on 5.24 with sunxi-tools 1.4.2) to change the resolution for my desktop but today when I did a clean install (armbian 5.30 Jessie Default) I get Unsupported board/kernel combination: Orange Pi Zero running 3.4.113-sun8i. I've got a fresh Orange Pi PC Plus 2 with the relevant Armbian loaded onto a new card. It seems to output just fine to HDMI on my workbench at home, using a relatively new monitor and a direct HDMI cable, but when I try other monitors I get inconsistent results. One is a Quimat 7-inch display that just shows a white backlight when connected to the OPi. However that display has issues with other boards so I'm not entirely worried about it. But the other display is a fairly modern ViewSonic monitor that exhibits a more confusing behavior. The monitor only has DVI/VGA so I'm connecting to it through a passive HDMI-DVI adapter. When I boot the board, the POST screen shows up …

  8. Hi all, I've connected a Serial-TTL converter to my Macbook Pro on one side, and an OrangePi Zero on the other, when I power up the Zero, I'm getting the following, what looks like an output with missing characters: I'm connecting with "sudo screen /dev/cu.usbserial 115200" and the adapter's driver in the network connections is set to 115200. The adapter is an Adafruit USB to TTL Serial Cable with a Prolific chipset. Any ideas?

  9. Hi all, first of all, I really like the dev-tools! I successfully developed my own Image (incl. patches etc.) and it's running great. But now I want to "burn" it to the Orange Pi's emmc directly, without using nand-sata-install ... it's necessary, because the target-image does not allow shell- and/or ssh-access (for purpose). So I flashed a "normal" armbian-image to my sd-card, copied my own image-file to the card, booted the card and wanted to 'dd' my image to /dev/mmcblk1. Everything went fine till now ... after rebooting w/o the sd-card plugged in, the loader hangs in a loop (Rebooting within 10 seconds) :/ I looked into the nand-sata-install-sc…

  10. Hi, I am new to the Armbian. I have build the kernel for BananaPi M2+ using the instruction specified in Armbian document for Building with Vagrant. I could see the output file "linux-image-sun8i-5.59.armhf.deb" in the "output/debs" folder. Know I don't know how to download or install this file on the SD card which is running on my bananaPi M2+. Bascically I need guidance on how to transfer my kernel build image from my windows PC to the SD card which I will be using to test the Bananapi M2+ board. Any help or documents will be highly appreciated.

  13. After some months not using my OrangePi One, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 (previously I had a stretch release). I did a clean install, downloading the image and burning the microSD with it. I noticed the button now works for 1st time since I bought the OrangePi One. It shuts down the device, no need to install or configure nothing. But, previous Armbian versions I had, were able to set the machine CPU speed at 1.2 and 1.1 GHz. Now (with Armbian 5.90) the maximum is 1 GHz. On previous releases, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_available_frequencies contained: 240000 480000 648000 816000 912000 9…

I have a raspi hat (rak2245) that has 2 versions: a pi-hat version that has a 40 pin-header on it for raspberry pi's , but also a smaller stamp edition. It uses spi and uart to communicate with the pi. I have it running without issues on my orange pi zero, even though the pinheader is a little too large. And via a breadboard I can access all pins just fine. But since I am making my own PCB anyway, I am interested in using the stamp version. The only difference between the stamp and the pi-hat version (aside from the form-factor and pin-out) is that the pi-hat version has an additional eeprom chip to tell the rapsberry pi about the function of the pins apparently. I also have an SDCARD with Armbian (Legacy) Jessie which also boots fine. My question is what do i need to do in order to get Armbian (legacy) Jessie to be able to mount the emmc? When i boot up Armbian via the sdcard, i can't see the emmc. Am i doing something wrong, or do i need to make some changes to the .fex file? Should i use the Armbian tool to make changes to the .fex file and roll a new u-boot, if so, can you guide me as to what changes i need to make in order to see both the sdcard and emmc flash devices from…

  45. According to http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc-plus/ If I understand correctly, the only difference is that PC+ has additional eMMC and WiFi. So a system with vanilla kernel for Opi PC+ should also work on the PC. Or are there other hardware differences? The page states: "serial console only, no HDMI." Does this vanilla system support Ethernet yet, so one can login via ssh after installation? My targeted use would be a tvheadend server (without local video for the moment).

  46. I configured the on board wifi access point on my Orange Pi Lite, (WPA / WPA2 encrypted, hostapd, dnsmasq). Everything was fine. I could power the board, connect to its wi-fi and ssh into it. Just a day ago I connected to the board with ssh, just to test that it was working and closed the connection immediately. So I know that it should be working and that all the configs are good. But now I keep on getting Connection Timed Out error, tested under Arch Linux and Mac (as the connecting clients). Under arch linux my card finds the wi-fi, finds its bssid and gets to sending an "ASSOCIATING" request which gets a Timeout response. It does not seem to be a hardwa…

On my last apt-get upgrade I noticed this line reoccurring in log: > dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/usr/src/linux-headers-4.8.4-sunxi': Directory not empty Accordingly there are serveral older versions of 'linux-headers-4.8.x-sunxi' in /usr/src. Should/Can these be deleted mannually and, if so, why can't the upgrade procedure do this in the first place? On searching this forum, I found several log clips posted containing the same warning messages, however, without any response as to how these could be avoided. I've also tried booting from SD card and the emmc almong will messing with the /boot config files such as setting the console to serial and can't see anything interesting in the messages file. It shouldn't be a power issue as I'm using an Anker 2.4a PSU but I've tried other PSUs as well wit…

  98. Hello together, I'm trying to activate composite output on my BananaPRO. First of all, I've added setenv command to my boot.cmd: setenv video-mode sunxi:1024x768-24@60,monitor=composite-pal,hpd=0,edid=0,overscan_x=32,overscan_y=20 then mkimage -C none -A arm -T script -d boot.cmd boot.scr copied boot.scr to sd-card and reboot. In u-boot I see: but my monitor (DELL 2007FP with composite input) and my TV (Panasonic Plasma) are still black. Any ideas? Thanks!
