  3. TL;DR: The small H2+/H3 boards unlike their bigger siblings are all prone to overheating due to smaller PCB size (on the larger boards the PCB's groundplane acts somewhat as a large heatsink dissipating heat away from the SoC). Due to mainline kernel settings not being optimized currently all these boards are slower under constant load compared to legacy kernel. This should change but won't unless someone is looking into it and spends some time on this. Two areas that deal with this overheating tendency or are somewhat related are thermal protection / throttling: use the thermal sensor(s) inside the SoC to downclock various engines if specific tre…

  4. Dear All, I need to install a MongoDB due to install unifi controller. Base on the documatation (UniFi - How to Install & Update via APT on Debian or Ubuntu) version 2.9.10 is recommend . You can find the latest installation guide for Ubuntu here, and Debian here. Both does not work. I've got the following error message when performing "apt-get update", I now this is the MonoDB version 3.4, but I got the same message on the recommended version. To be honest, I'm not a debian expert :-( Thank you for your assistance BR Patrick

  5. I'm trying to get a 4K 5.5" LCD to work (only console mode needed ) . U-boot can get it on at the desired resolution : 2160x3840 ( yes it's a portrait mode ) and display correctly . Seems that U-boot is reporting the correct information to set up simpleFB , but I don't get any display after kernel loading . The display adapter (HDMI>MIPI) have 3 options ( switching between 3 different EDID ) , the 2 others are working correctly ( 1080x1920 , 1440x2560 ) . I 'm wondering if this is related to simpleFB limitation , or memory allocation ... problem is that I'm a complete noob ... I can provide any information needed as long as you tell me what…

  10. hi guys, i'm using NanoPi neo core using a battery and a volt booster. and I want to control the voltage booster to turn off all peripherals to conserve power and prevent battery drainage. I figured there's a PWR-LED pin connected to GPIOL10, which turns off when the system shut down. is there a way to map another GPIO in the same way so i could know when the system has shut down - so it will be safe to cut power off? thank you so much.

  12. Hello and thanks in advance. I have installed the IMG Debian Wheezy With kernel 3.4.x, when income Rpi monitoring tells me I have 11 upgradeable packages, but if I run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade returns me that there is nothing to update. Moreover Igor saw yesterday published an update, it is possible to upgrade without reinstalling everything? The problem that I have and which I intend to upgrade is that once a day or once every two days or ethernet banana itself hangs and can not access until I restart the banana pi. Thank you very much and apologize for using google translator.

It looks this is known, a kernel level problem. for example: http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2011-February/037038.html Any suggestion how can I solve this issue? With a tiny world and minimal server settings(and disabled watchdog), it works but it's unplayable. Server can't keep up even with a free falling player. I have heatsinks and fan on the pi so I don't think it's about throttling. I think this CPU is insufficient for this task.

  56. I want to drive 2 SPI devices on my orangepi zero. I enabled `spi-spidev` and `spi-add-cs1` overlays and set `param_spidev_spi_bus` to 1. But by I still get only `/dev/spi1.0` available. When I add `param_spidev_spi_cs=1`, I get `/dev/spi1.1` but `/dev/spi1.0` disappears. Do I see it correctly that I can choose *either* `/dev/spi1.0` *or* `/dev/spi1.1` but not both with that overlay? How can I activate both cs pins? There are a bunch of example custom files out there, but none are meant specifically for the setup where I need spi1 (instead of spi0) and need to use a GPIO pin for cs1. And I can't really find any docs on how to write my own overlay. So any help is appr…

  57. Hi, I'm trying to get Bluetooth working on a Cubietruck running 6.6 kernels including the latest Armbian release. What I'm finding is that a Cubietruck can discover other Cubietrucks but nothing else. I have three Cubietrucks here and testing with the old 4.99 Bluetooth software or the current 5.55 release shows no difference. But if I run a Cubietruck with the ancient 3.4 kernel it can detect other devices but not the Cubietrucks running the 6.6 kernels. I'm using the same Wi-Fi firmware and BT .hcd file in all cases. So it's like the Cubietru…

  63. Wondering if there's anything similar to retroarch or mednafen that'll work for armbian on a pcduino3? I can't get the former to compile/install and the latter gives me guff about not being able to find a GLX visual when it tries to load video. It's worth noting that I'm pretty green when it comes to Linux, especially when it comes to "exotic"/SoC builds. I have nothing against learning, but I've found the signal-to-noise ratio for this product in particular is very poor and a lot of the info is woefully obsolete.

Hi! Is the Orange Pi3 image suitable for the Orange Pi3 LTs? Or where to find it?

  98. Good morning, I am using a version compiled with your script for Banana Pi M2 Berry to build a network HiFi streamer, and I am satisfied with it. I have installed LMS and Squeezelite, and everything is working great. Now I would like to add an Innomaker HAT AMP that has a 12V power connector that powers the Raspberry Pi at 5V via GPIO. The GPIO of the Banana Pi M2 Berry is declared compatible with the Raspberry Pi3, but I would like to be sure before frying the board in case it is not. Can you please confirm the total compatibility of the GPIO connector of the Banana Pi with that of the Raspberry Pi? Thank you for your response.

Hey everyone, I am attempting to update my Orange Pi Zero from Armbian 22.0.2.1 to the latest 23.11 version however I am running into the issue that I am stuck on how to perform this update, I have tried it using the sudo apt dist-upgrade command and tried regular sudo apt update and upgrade commands but everytime it says there are no new updates available (also no errors), when there is clearly a new version 23.11 available here: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/ What am I doing wrong? Is it maybe because it says unsupported userspace?

  100. I'm powering my NanoPi Neo V1.4 1801 through the USB type A port beside the Ethernet RJ45. I'm using Armbian 23.11.1 bookworm with kernel Linux nanopineo 6.1.63-current-sunxi. Now I want to enable the Micro-USB port (usually used for powering) to act as an USB host so that I can plugin an USB-stick. I found very few instructions for e.g. Orange Pi. There the device tree needs to be changed for usb@1c19000 and usb0-vbus. Also in armbianEnv.txt the line param_usb0_mode=0 should be added. But none of the instructions work for my NanoPi Neo. In the schematics, a SY6280 is connected via GPIOL2/USB0-DRVVBUS to the H3 cpu. …
