Hi, I have an Orange Pi Plus 2e and I've installed Armbian_5.59_Orangepiplus2e_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop. I need to play four hd videos at the same time. I could do it with Raspberry pi3 model B with 720M GPU memory. I played videos with MPV with X11 but couldn't play with VPDAU. It is just played only one video. What can I do? Can I set GPU memory? Thank you.

  2. Started by Dima,

Hi, Since recent I have an issue that my Orangepi doesn't start anymore. My microSD is fine (did a full diskcheck using badblocks on ubuntu), en I can access all the files without issues. However, it doesn't want to boot. Every time I try to boot it (Orangepi pc), it gives the first black screen until starting kernel, and then gets stuck on the blinking underscore. For information: I have an Orangepi PC and Armbian 5.32 with mainline kernel. Now, this happened after I did an apt-get upgrade (incl. kernel upgrade) from 5.30 to 5.32, and then didn't reboot, but my orangepi had a short power interruption. After this it didn't want to start…

Hi, on my BananaPI I installed this image: Armbian_5.10_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.5.2_desktop.raw I followed these instructions: https://searchathing.com/?p=250 to move / to SATA (or USB) and crypt it with LUKS. After all, cat /proc/cpuinfo says, there is only 1 CPU-core. How can I activate the 2nd core? Thanks for your help

  4. Hi All, Just wanted to share a good story using armbian. I have used in the past 1-wire probes for temperature, and the process included decompiling, editing and recompiling dtb for my Banana Pi M1, which was not easy at all. Every firmware update deleted by changes and had to redo de recompilation. With latest kernels and armbian version, the process is now extremely easy, just edit: /boot/armbianEnv.txt Adding this lines: overlays=w1-gpio param_w1_pin=PI3 # desired pin(7th pin (GCLK) or number 4 on first column where number 1 is +3V) param_w1_pin_int_pullup=1 # internal pullup-resistor: 1=on, 0=off …

When powering the Orange Pi on, the green LED on the board is constantly ligthened. On the monitor, I get a black screen, after 4 s (or so) a totally red screen. No text. No graphics. Then after about 15 s, on the board the red LED starts to double blink. The red screen remains for ever. I know Banana pi had issues in the past connecting at gigabit speeds. I thought that was a fixed problem, though. I did a fresh Jessie server install today and it still connects at 100 megabit. Is there a user action that must be taken? According to http://linux-sunxi.org/LeMaker_Banana_Pi the GMAC wasn't supported in the community kernel but should be in later kernels. Is this still an issue? How does one set GMAC_TX_DELAY to 3? Is that a config file thing or a patch that needs to be applied? Are other Banana Pi owners just living with 100 megabit speeds? I am trying to setup a logitech squeezebox server on an Orange Pi Zero so that it can be carried around and serve my collection from a large micro-sd card. This is the 3rd iteration of this already (first was given as a gift, 2nd got fried by 12V, and now this one) and in the past I've been using hostapd to connect while away from home. I'd like to explore the possibility of using a Bluetooth Personal Area network, but I am not sure if there is a stack that can achieve this for me. The idea is that I would use bluetooth instead of wifi to connect to the orange pi zero and establish a tcp/ip connection that would allow me to control the server using the phone…

  55. Thanks for providing the new Buster image (5.4.7) for Orange Pi One Plus. All the essential stuff works well, giving me new software possibilities. As a technical feedback, I'd just like to mention 1) the red light keeps shining (instead of turning green, but Armbian runs very well, anyway) 2) an attached monitor doesn't receive any signals (but I prefer SSH anyway) 3) the console keyboard layout wouldn't accept any changes (but using SSH, that doesn't make any difference now). Everything else in armbian-config worked fine. Great tool!

  60. Hi there, I want to migrate system on OPi PC+ from 32GB uSD card to 16GB card. System is small enough to fit on 16GB, but too large for 8GB eMMC (amazingly fast according dd). How to do it? My idea is: - copy (raw, using dd) first 8192 sectors from 32GB to 16GB, - then remove partition (32GB) and recreate it with 16GB size, format using same EXT filesystem, - copy (on another computer, or "simple" Armbian installed on eMMC) partition contents using rsync. Will it work? Will there be no issue with different UUID of new partition?

I'm running OpenElec on a NanoPI-M1 and one thing missing is having the screen blanked when the screensaver kicks in, allowing the monitor to power down. In Kodi there's no option to do it, unlike when running in other OS. Probably someone is going to direct me at CEC but that does not work for me as I have a PC monitor connected to the board through a HDMI->VGA adaptor. I've read in the sunxi docs that the '/sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank' sysfs entry should control blanking for the framebuffer, therefore blanking the HDMI output, but it either does not work that way or at all, as nothing happens. On the RP world there is a command line utility that can enable/disabl…

Hey kids, it is me, again! So, this time I found out (well, you maybe knew it before and I am dumbing around again) that voltage control does not work on Banana Pi (at least) mainline kernel. Well, if I am supposed to change it in linux-mainline/arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20.dtsi. I tried to reach 1248000kHz, which is, of course, unstable. So I was adding and adding voltage, until I was too afraid to continue (1650000mV ). But BananaPi was unstable the same way (freez after few minutes of FTP transfer), no more (bad charger) or no less (would still need more voltage). So after few hours of re-compiling source and listening wonderful music I tried this: 1248000(kHz)…

Hi, we experience change in owner:group in /var/log. Eg. mosquitto folder requires mosquitto:mosquitto and is changed to root:root. After this change mosquitto service is down. Any pointers are very much appreciated. Many thanks. Rostislav

  97. I have searched the forum and the internet and am having a lot of trouble finding a guide on how to covert the OTG on my OrangePi One to a USB port. (I am assuming it is possible to do.) I believe the current configuration for the OrangePi One is one usb and a OTG. I would also Like to be able to use the OTG as a USB port when I run OpenElec as I would like the second USB to plug in the new Optional Bluetooth dongle. Seasalt

I am using Armbian_20.05.4_Lime-a64_focal_current_5.4.45_desktop.img.xz and I try run glxgears on Olinuxino-A64 with Lima. When I running glxgears I see 117 frames in 5.0 second = 23.313FPS. Also mouse response so slow on desktop. It is understood from here Olinuxino-A64 doing software render. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am new at this job and I have difficulty in fully understanding the problem. Is there a way I can get high FPS in glxgears using Lima? What exactly is problem here? Sorry if I ask silly question. Thanks. Below are some outputs for the board I use. dmesg | grep "lima" output: [ 8.579828] lima 1c40000.gpu: IRQ ppmmu2 not found [ …
