Hi, I've been running the OMV7 latest with the armbian headless latest. I've set the power button for powering the system off in the OMV's gui. When the system is "on" I can power the system down by short press on the power button, the system powers off after aprox 10 seconds (so hopefully a clean shut down), the power led and network led get off, but the USB HDD (external 2.5in 320GB WD) still shows activity after power down - the activity led on it blinks (like 5 blinks per second) and I can hear a light clicking in aprox 1sec intervals. The disk does not spin, however (I cannot hear the spinning). I've been using a battery backup (3.7V lion) wired to the BPi M1 bo…

I built the latest Nobel build and ended up with Armbian-unofficial_26.02.0-trunk_Nanopiduo_noble_current_6.12.63.img. Even at idle it runs 70C. If you try to do upgrades it will do thermal shutdown. The temp reporting is real because it's hot enough to burn your finger if you hold the heat sink long enough. I used a PS2 usb fan (I call it the ghetto cooler 5000) long enough to downgrade kernel to 6.1.x. Now it idles around 50C. I know there's been heating issues with H3 (Duo uses H2+). I compared DTBs, voltages and cannot find the smoking gun. I played around controlling the voltages, etc. Anyways, I'm OK with 6.1.x kernel since this board was out in 2017. I still have a…

Hi, I have installed Wheesy 3.4.108 on my Banana Pro. connected to it using SSH from xterm on my linux box, did various housekeeping, set up user squeeze Installed logitech media server works OK Installled Squeezelite ---- needed to set up alsa, ran sudo alsamixer, Alsamixer ran OK but when I hit Fkeys on host machine to select various alsa menus, alsamixer terminates and drops back to Banana pro CLI, obviosly F key keybindings are not what alsamixer expects. Fails under both xterm and putty and on two linux host systems. What do I do to make banana pro use the Function keys F1-F6 to work as alsa requires? I note that there are lots of…

Hi, to resume the problem I encounter please let me introduce the network I use. 1) a main modem/router called BBox2 which is a Sagem F@st 3464 connected in LAN-WAN to a 2) a secondary router called Lamobo R1 (also named Banana Pi R1 = BPi R1) 3) a laptop connected to the BPi-R1 4) I think to connect IP camera to the BBox2 then need to stay in the same network range (so I presume I need to change the conneciton used in 1) from LAN-WAN to LAN-LAN isn't it ?) Here is the connections and IP Addresses : BBox2 is connected in LAN-WAN to the BPi-R1 ISP -> BBox2 (LAN) -> (WAN) BPi-R1 (LAN) -> (LAN) Laptop 192.168.1.1 (DHCP->) 19…

Hi All, I'm using Armbian_5.10_Micro_Debian_jessie_3.4.112 on a custom A20 board with NAND based off the Olimex A20 Micro. I don't see /dev/nand on it. $ zgrep NAND /proc/config.gz CONFIG_SUNXI_NAND_PARTITION=y CONFIG_SUNXI_NAND=y # CONFIG_SUNXI_NAND_COMPAT_DEV is not set # CONFIG_SUNXI_NAND_TEST is not set I even tried to Livesuite an Android NAND image, but it also failed. Hey guys, I have a Banana Pro and recently switched to Armbian from Bananian. I boot from an HDD connected to the SATA port on bpi. Apparently the root fs is supposed to get resized to the max size(1TB in my case) during the first boot. But, well, it didn't work for me.. so instaed of 1TB I had 1.5 GBs. I wiped the partition in fdisk and created a new one using the old starting block(2048) but leaving the end to default. Result: I now have all the space available to me but everytime I log in it still says "90% of 1.5G". Why doesn't it scale?I know this is kinda ridiculous but I'm a perfectionist haha. ____ ____ _ ____ …

Hi, my old 1366x768 VGA LCD monitor was working with legacy kernel but after I downloaded and installed image with new kernel ( Ubuntu_xenial_next.7z) I could not get it to work with VGA output. When I set armbianEnv.txt with below, it still outputs to HDMI disp_mode=1366x768p60 video_mode=sunxi:1366x768-24@60,monitor=vga,hdp=0,edid=1 then I tried to add this with no luck. Both monitors go blank with it. extraagrs=disp.screen0_output_type=4 Is VGA supported with new kernel? If so, how ?

Hi, I've got an Orange Pi Zero Plus H5 running "Armbian_5.91_Orangepizeroplus_Debian_buster_next_4.19.59.img" but I can't seem to connect to it via the three UART pins next to the Ethernet port. I'm using this adapter using both the Windows supplied and the manifacturer's drivers. I've also tried adding "uart1 uart2 uart3" to the overlays line in /boot/armbianEnv.txt and rebooting but with no luck. I'm using PuTTY on my laptop connecting via COM7 serial port (as shown in Device Manager) with baud rate 115200, but the PuTTY screen stays black with nothing coming in. Is there something that I'm missing?

Hi! New to the forums, this is my first post. I've been trying out some of the pre-built Armbian images on my Orange Pi Zero to get a taste for the OS and it's perfect for my purposes, however I've noticed something odd about the current mainline images that's possibly a small oversight. I browsed the forums before posting and noticed that TV Out functionality has been disabled by default on H3-based boards due to an interference with HDMI output on mainline, which is naturally understandable. There's only one small problem - the same patch has been applied to H2+ boards which lack an HDMI Out altogether. I've explored the image currently provided (the latest …

So I've installed and I'm running watchdog for some months now on BananaPi M1. I think it reboots the board when the default gateway has some issues. And that's fine, no problem with that. The board works 24/7 and it made 14+ days uptime without problems. But things have changed and the board reboots at least few times a day (seems I have a problem with armbianmonitor -u - the board rebooted twice before it ended). And here's the problem. watchdog doesnt log anything or I'm unable to find any usefull info. And watchdog.conf: (it seems that the board went offline - maybe internet connection issues, but I have another one running that's also "l…

Hi, I had until yesterday an Armbian version from a year ago on the board, until then I never had problems with my network (WiFi). Yesterday I had then made an apt update + upgrate. After that, however, I suddenly had the problem that some access points are no longer found. This is so that my access point (Fritzbox), my mobile hotspot from smartphone (Samsung) and a network of a neighbor is no longer found. Other access points are still found, so there are still WiFi access points available but I can no longer find mine. Now I have installed the latest version today and still the same problem. Manual entry unfortunately brings nothing because the connecti…

Hello, I have a Cubieboard2 and armbian in a vanilla kernel with jessie flavor. This board has a 2 cores processor. When I am logging in, load average is shown and becomes red when it is greater than 1.0. Since, there are 2 cores, it should be colorized only when it reaches 2.0. I was able to write to a Samsung sd card the image for my orange Pi lite. The overscan is bad on my TV but I got past initial setup. Once it boots to the desktop there is no response from the mouse and I thought the keyboard. No keyboard shortcuts work. But I was able to drop to terminal and type. What could be going on? Hello, as already described in this topic: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/5619-nanopi-duo-sound-delay/ I have the same problem with delayed audio. -> " if I run speaker-test -t wav, instead of the sound playing "front left" it just play the work left, the continues playing "front left" correctly." When I run an audio-output-command two times, the audio is played well with the second command. But the greater problem in my case is a loud cracking noise when audio stops. Is there anyway to prevent the shutdown of the amplifier? I have to repeatingly start and stop audio files from nodejs. Thanks for your help, Jimmy

Hello. I have a small problem: I can't change the language on my OPi Zero. I have successfully done that with OPi Lite 2 and OPi 3, but for some reason on the Zero when I go to change it, the module fails to load and just quits back to the same "menu page". (essentially does nothing). The only thing I can think of, is that both of the other boards have 1Gb RAM and this only has 512Mb and thus it runs out of memory? That doesn't sound too plausible though - a list of keyboard languages shouldn't take tens or hundreds of megs of RAM. As far as I know, each board is running the same version of Armbian, so that shouldn't be a problem.

(Finally this forum lets me enter a new topic. It's failing most of the time, making it really hard to solve my actual problem if the infrastructure also fails.) I'm using an Orange Pi Zero board and try to make it talk to a radio module via SPI. The whole thing already works on a Raspberry Pi so the module and cabling is correct. But the module doesn't respond to requests on the Orange Pi. Since this doesn't do anything, I searched for issues like this and along the way found an SPI loopback tool. I tried it and it returned all zeros. The tool readme suggests that the MOSI and MISO pins are not connected, but they are. I checked and resoldered those pins and …

**1. Summary:** The text console (`tty1`) is permanently stuck at 30 rows by 90 columns after boot, despite the DRM/KMS framebuffer being correctly set to 1920x1080 resolution. I also aim to put a 5.5 x 2.1mm barrel connection on the box (with a latching press button switch for isolation) for the +5v supply and connect a short micro USB connector from the barrel socket to the board and also attach the SATA power leads directly rather than powering from the board 2 pin connector to take the load off the micro USB input.

Hi, ALL! Have anybody success story with an Armbian and Kodi? With Armbains 5.05...5.10 I installed (apt-get update ; apt-get install kodi) kodi 15.2 from this repository: Quote as described here and allways (in all Armbian releases) has a problems with a sound: sound level very low ans high level noise starting even no video - beginning while kodi GUI started (permanent noise in menus). Film sound also exists while film started playing, but sound level near noise level and very low both (btw, kodi volume regulator not working, only mute mode working in kodi). I watched AC3, MP3, AAC sound coded films - effects are the same: noise with low volume soundtrack. A…

Hi there Have purchased a Lime 2 device, as it offered GigE-which my Pi's dont :-) Loaded up both the vanilla and the normal distro's but both have this annoying habit of the device just goes to sleep-sometimes after a few hours. When I say sleep, I can still see the Ethernet LED's blinking away-but it wont respond to PING's, and it wont respond to SSH. Plugging in a monitor and keyboard doesn't bring it back to life either. If I power recycle it (2.5A unit being used-have tried the OTG and the 5vdc but no difference), up she comes. Fully updated in terms of packages. I have even set up a continuous ping to my home router from the Lime 2 (its on my internal LAN) to see …

Hello All, I have Orange Pi one board with Armbian 5.20 Desktop and Kodi/mpv/mplayer installed. I want to make OP1 a home media center. Desktop is set to 1080p60 (1920x1080p 60Hz, by h3disp script). Hi, I am new to Orange Pi, Armbian and this forum. Done lots of Raspberry Pi and other Linux stuff. Can someone tell me if the Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H3 & H5 boards are supported by armbian? They are available on Aliexpress here(H3) and here(H5). They are not listed on the download page, but are listed in this post. Also, if they are supported, is it better choosing the H3 or H5 variant? Seems to me like the H3 might have better software support, and might be the better choice.

[H5: Nanopi neo core 2] I observe the UART Rx line to be influenced by the RTS line which I am using during sending. Is there a way to enable an internal pull-up on Rx so that this doesn't happen? I suspect it's the cause of communication errors that I observe. I confess that I am currently on a FriendlyCore 4.16 build, but I wouldn't expect such an issue to be too distribution-specific.

Good day! I connect the real time clock, made according to the instructions: RTC time is set I set the wrong time in the RTC, reboot. What am I doing wrong? Or what else needs to be done?

Greetings! It's not a influential or serious bug. I couldn't control the LEDs on Orange Pi One Plus by the command setleds, So I navigated to /sys/class/leds, and there are two items: orangepi:green:status@ and orangepi:red:power@. I tried to do echo 255 > brightness respectively and found that: orangepi:green:status@ controls the RED LED, while orangepi:red:power@ controls the GREEN LED. Please tell me if it's a minor bug or an intentional setting, thank you.

Hi, I've been using Armbian for three years on some work's project and this is the first time I see this issue. Basically I have an image of the operative system and all the programs and scripts already saved in it, so when I have to prepare a new SD card I just use the command "dd" and then I modify some registry stuff specific for the object I'm creating. It has always worked without problem, but now we bought a new batch of SD cards and I'm facing this issue: the dd command goes succesfully and if I mount the partitions after it has finished I can see all my data, but when I boot the system sometimes I get some errors. Here is the last part of the…

Hello, Do you guys have some tips on reducing power consumption to an absolute minimum? I've made some progress and reduced it to about 500mW on idle. with some CPUs shut off. I would like to get it lower for battery saving. I'm currently building a custom image with as much of the functions I don't need (SPI, i2c, bluetooth etc) turned off hoping that I will get some more power savings. Not sure if this will make a difference yet. Ideas would be appreciated!

The system v26.11 rolling for Orange Pi PC Plus running Armbian Linux 6.18.53-current-sunxi cannot boot from eMMC on the Orange Pi PC Plus. The bootloader is looking for an old partition on /dev/mmcblk0p1, whereas the current partition of emmc is identified differently - as /dev/mmcblk2p1. Therefore, it is necessary to use a bootloader from an SD card, which specifies the path to the eMMC partition for subsequent operation.

Hi Everyone. I intend to use this sbc with a hdmi to lcd controller (not yet arrived). I noticed the predefined resolutions do not include 1366x768. I tested on a smart tv and I with the closest resolution of 1360x768, there was a vertical purple line on the left. I could probably live with the slightly lower resolution, however if the purple line appears on my final setup, how do I remove this or is there anyway to run the full 1366x768? I have tried 1280x720 in windows and it blurs the text so that seems to be out of the questions for me. Regards, Rauli

My Prime is reasonably stable now, except for running youtube videos in fullscreen 1920x1080, which drives the heat up (I've seen 87 !), and after a few minutes freezes the video with the sound continuing. I can't find any mention of YouTube in the documentation, and only video URLs in the forum. Is there some trick I have missed?

Hello, I have an image based on Armbian 5.37 and I have noticed that after upgrading linux-jessie-root-lime2 from 5.37 to 5.60, the Lime2 was not able to get an IP for eth0. The only way is to execute dhclient eth0 I have noticed that a lot of file was added in linux-jessie-root-lime2_5.60_armhf/data/usr/lib/armbian and I think that one of them are responsible of this issue. Do you have any idea on how to fix that ? Thanks
