I'm pretty new to Linux, so it could just be me doing something wrong, but I downloaded Armbian_5.34.171121_Orangepiplus2e_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.14_desktop.img, put it on an SD card, and load it in the orange pi. The legacy installs fine but not this version. Before I even make it to the login prompt I get these codec errors: sun4i-codec 1c22c00.codec: ASoC: /soc/codec/analog@01f015c0 not registered sun4i-codec 1c22c00.codec: Failed to register our card Then after filling out the login info, adding a new user, it goes to boot to the desktop, but nothing happens, just returns me to the command line. After some mucking aro…

I have a windows 7 laptop and the A20 cubietruck board with Mainline 4.9.7 Debian Jessie and I need to achieve an ssh connection between them via a wireless router. On cubietruck I have installed opnssh-client and openssh-server and have checked that it listens to port 22. On windows I try with putty to connect to board via ssh. The connection is done , I give username and password but then it freezes and I cannot access any of the folders of the debian. I also tried the mobaxterm but the same result. Does anyone has an idea of what I have done wrong?

Hi, I just started to fiddle around with my Cubietruck (since I exchanged it with a Banana Pi for productive stuff). I had to realize that /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ is missing and that cpufreq-info outputs "no or unknown cpufreq driver is active on this CPU" correctly. Anyone else seeing this behaviour? Cpufreq support should be back with 4.0? Based on a sysbench run ("sysbench --test=cpu --cpu-max-prime=5000 run --num-threads=2" -- takes 58 seconds) I would suppose it's running not even at 960 MHz (since 960 should finish in less than 54 seconds). I did some iperf tests (not that promising, just 600/650 Mbits/sec) and iozone with my usual test…

Hi everyone, I am having issues with video output on my A20-micro when using legacy kernel. I get the proper output from uboot, but when it starts to load the kernel, I get some garbage on the screen, then nothing. I had a look through the forums to no avail. My boot logs are uploaded to http://sprunge.us/dGhS From what I see, the default kernel command line seems to be correct for my purpose. The system is up and running as I can login through serial and SSH. I tried setting the resolution with a10disp but I got the following response: "Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled." Anyone has a clue on what I am missing ? Than…

Hi Igor, I grabbed your 4.1 image, flashed it onto the microsd Card and boot the cubietruck. However, I received the message from my display: Out of specification: 67.5kHz / 60 Hz. The first boot is ok, but after starting the kernel the screen turns black and above mentioned message apears. This happens on the analouge (VGA) input and on the digital input (DVI) as well. How to fix the problem?? I never had any display problems with all your images. never! This is the first time. I might to use your 4.0 image to return into operation again. regards, hitam4450

Hi everyone, I want to have a diskless Orange Pi Win, i'm trying to get the Ethernet to work in u-boot, but it does not seem to connect at all with my router when booting, no blinking led at all (none on the Pi neither on the router), I tried différents cables, ports, searched on the web, found some "patches" on DTS file on the web for pine64... But nothing seems to work (but Ethernet works correctly when the Pi is booted on Linux). Any Idea ? Many thanks,

My Armbian paste is at https://paste.armbian.com/yamakinoce This is an OrangePi Zero Plus, with an H3, not an H5 or an H2. I see all kinds of problems here but don't know how to fix them. It seems the DTB is just wrong for this board. For one, there are interrupts showing up in /proc/interrupts for HDMI and LCD, but this physical board has *neither* of those. It has an Ethernet PHY but neither the kernel nor uboot see it. It also has a Wifi but the kernel does not see that either. Does a correct DTB exist for this board? What is its name? I vaguely remember a couple ways to force the kernel and uboot to use a different DTB …

Dear Igor, I made a custom 4.1 kernel with your script, where a staging driver (mn88472) is included. I'am trying to use an Astrometa DVB stick with mn88472 demodulator, but it's not working. Everything seems fine, no errors, every module loaded, firmware is in it's place. If I run wscan, it goes through every frequency, but it doesn't find any channel. The most weird thing is that two or three times it worked, but I don't know why, and I am not able to reproduce it. (I am using DVB-C so it's sure that the signal is fine) I investigated the source code of the mn88472 module, and as I see, I should get a notice about the firmware load status. An error message o…

Hello, I'm trying to get a opi+2e to output something on my HDMI TV without success. I know it's not an officially supported board, but it's been working really well so far, so I'll give it a shot. Today I updated my kernel to 5.9.0-sunxi (coming from 5.9.0-rc7-sunxi) and after rebooting the (wired) network was dead. Everything looked fine, ethernet driver is loaded, interfaces were up and had IP addresses, but packets were not being sent. Pinging anything but the Banana Pi itself says "destination host unreachable". Routes were set and looked correct - even tho they should not even be necessary as I was pinging the gateway. tcpdump on eth0 showed nothing at all, almost as if the kernel doesn't know where to send the packets. Anyon…

See build log https://paste.armbian.de/lesoquheja The kernel works, but installing the .deb failed because my extlinux script could not copy: /usr/lib/linux-image-6.18.1-edge-sunxi/overlay/sun8i-h3-analog-codec.dtbo The whole overlay folder does not exist. It does exist for 6.12.58-current-sunxi and last time I compiled kernel for the nanopineo was 6.16.8, the overlays were created. I remember it was also once the case with edge kernel for other SBC ( .deb package from the Armbian beta repo). That time own local build did create overlays. I am not sure where to look or what could be wrong.

Hi! Is it only me or there are no updates to packages? Let me explain, I'm running jessie server on A20 latest stable kernel and when I run apt-get update, apt-get upgrade there are never updates available. I have experienced this for some of the latest releases and now I'm starting to thing that something is wrong with my system. Especially because I have a raspberry pi and that (yes, I know is raspbian) is getting updates to packages from time to time. I haven't modified or customized anything in the sources list. And the thing is that I'm getting updates for firmware/kernel when they are available. Any ideas? Is it something normal for armbian (/debian)?

Hi, I'm fairly new to SBCs and Linux and try to get RS485 working on a NanoPi NEO running Armbian (Legacy 3.4.113). I build a custom shield for the NanoPi Neo with a MAX3485 taht is connected to the UART2 (TX,RX,RTS) but so far only transmission works. This is because the RTS pin which I planned to use for toggling the direction pins is always high. I tried to use ioctrl to have it been toggled automatically, but had no success so far. Hi I only have an old monitor, and I thus need to use a HDMI-to-VGA-converter to work with my Orange Pi PC Plus. When powering the Orange Pi on, the green LED on the board is constantly ligthened. On the monitor, I get a black screen, after 4 s (or so) a totally red screen. No text. No graphics. Then after about 15 s, on the board the red LED starts to double blink. The red screen remains for ever. I have tested the Raspbian and Debian images available on http://www.orangepi.org/downloadresources/. They work fine with the converter. Alas, the preferred OS, "Orange OS" armbian, seems not to work. Board: Orange Pi …

Hi, I've tried to use the Ubuntu Xenial Mainline 4.9.4 server on my orange pi one. The u-boot log messages appear on the HDMI monitor but after the "Starting Kernel" message, the monitor shows "No Signal". I can still acess it through SSH. Executing dmesg, there is a log "simple-framebuffer: probe of 59f42000.framebuffer failed with error -12". I'm new to Linux, Is there a way I can fix it ? Thx.

Hi guys, I am very sorry to bother you, I tried everything I could to make this work but unfortunately, I can't figure it out. So here I am asking for help ! I am using the Armbian 4.5 Jessie (Kernel 3.4.109) on an Olimex Lime A10 board, everything works fine (Wifi & Bluetooth via USB dongles), but there's no sound. I tried aplay -l but nothing is found. modprobe sun4i_codec returns "codec not found". Could you help me find what's wrong ? I would like to avoid compiling a kernel by myself if it's possible ... Thanks !

No sound via the hdmi port to hdmi tv port however I can use headphones with the 3.5 mm audio jack and it works fine. Not sure if my board is broken either. I just got it. The only image that works with my orange pi pc plus is Armbian Stretch edition. The ones I have tried thus far are armbian xenial multimedia edition, retrorangepi, android 7 from orangepi website they all don't work haven't tried bionic armbian edition though. But that is for another post just thought to mention that. 1. Logs when you can boot the board: armbianmonitor -u https://pastebin.com/e5xb2gZD

Good morning all I have an OPi Zero H2 with the official expansion card. My goal is to make an Airport module to connect a speaker to it. The installation of Shairport in APT all is ok I can see the sharing on my iPhone. But the problem is that I have no sound when I plug a speaker into the 3.5mm jack port on the expansion card. I have correctly installed the "analog-codecs" and made a reboot. In Alsamixer I put "Line-Out" and "DAC" to the maximum (red). But still no sound ... When in doubt, I did all these operations on Armbian Focal / Buster / Bionic but it didn't change anything. Can you help me please? believe me I have tried everything for 4 da…

Hi, I've just downloaded the July 12th image with the 3.4.108 kernel from http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2013/12/24/cubietruck-debian-wheezy-sd-card-image/. After booting from SD card i can't seem to reach ssh on this machine. I can ping it though ping times vary between 1 and 220ms. I tried to boot several times but nothing changes. With the 4.x kernel i was able to boot and ssh into. Any idea?

With mvp screen looks (geometrically) ok, but pixels are 8x8 (colour). Unusable too. Any ideas? Sample film visualises on mCeleron 1.4GHz / Intel GMA w/o problem. (I know, from HDD, but it looks not like a HDD performance problem).

Hello everyone, I was running Armbian Xenial (mainline 4.11.8 kernel) on Win Plus and it was working pretty good (after a little fix). But after some bad configurations (the system was still working..), I decided to re-install the whole system. The thing is that there are no more mainline builds for this board on the download page and 3.10 kernel is too old (I need at least 4.9)... So I decided to build the system but I have some issues that makes the board pretty useless. The first is that there is no more Ethernet, no blinking light on the board neither on the switch... The second are the USB port : The two USB ports on the right of th…

Hello! I wrote the legacy image to a sd card and put it into the card slot. I can see something like diagnostic message and then "starting kernel". After that there is no video output. Neither over VGA nor over HDMI. Is that wanted? I tried 3 different monitors, but no chance. I can connect via ssh after a few minutes, but using a monitor and a screen would help, when there is no network. What am I doing wrong? Greetings, Pille

Hello -- bringing in conversation from https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/5726#issuecomment-1817668480 as requested. @viraniac -- I've attached the dmesg output from a fresh flash of the quadra SD image -- which is just armbian checked out at `90c05ba` with this patch applied: https://www.inovato.net/build/quadra.patch . Build instructions from the founder are at https://forum.inovato.com/post/building-armbian-from-source-12449428?pid=1333459893 Curiously the dmesg output almost looks truncated to me -- doesn't start with `Booting Linux on physical`, and I see a few xradio message but no results for 819. Hello, I am using the Olimex OLinuxino and I find a constant noise at about 866.725MHz or thereabout in every board. While low, at -100dBm, when using it with IoT radios this is the band in India and it is quite a pain in applications requiring high sensitivity. This particular board had it pretty nasty at -86dB. I have tried with changing the DDR frequency as well as the CPU clock, however this nuisance refuses to go away. What can be done to get rid of this noise ? I have tried multiple boards -- Olinuxino (multiple), Marsboard, but each has some noise in exactly same band near 866MHz. Please advise.

Hello, I have what I hope is a simple question, but I haven't been able to find an answer. - Orange Pi Plus2e - Debian Jessie Linux is only booting to a console prompt. I can log in, browse around which is great but I would like to explore the GUI. Hi Everyone After several weeks (maybe months) seeking for a solution for my problem I decide to post it here and hope to get a fix for it. At first I still run an Cubietruck with Armbian (everytime the latest Version) with just a few services (Pi-Hole, RPi-Monitor) and for future use Apache, MariaDB and PHPmyadmin (just installed and running, but with no content). On every crash I checked the syslog and it always show the following lines as latest entries: Jun 29 15:17:28 localhost systemd[1]: St…

I use a OPiPC as my mqtt and smb server. Until Monday I used an older version of Armbian (something around 5.20 I think) and everything worked flawlessly.
