Ive just gotten a orange pi zero, fairly inexperienced with linux too. Ive been trying to get a distributed.net client running on it. Does anyone know if this is even possible? I tried a few differnt versions (ARMEL, ARM/eabi and ARM/ELF) always get a no such file or directory when trying to run them using ./dnetc Cheers

  4. I have a cubieboard2 running Armbian_4.5_Cubieboard2_Debian_jessie_4.2.3.zip and when I ran a seemingly innocent "npm search" command, the system became extremely slow. It responded to pings, but SSH commands were taking many minutes to complete. I was able to grab a screenshot of "top" while it was in this state (attached). Root is on SD, I set up a 1GB swap partition over SATA. My questions are: * Is setting up a 1GB swap partition over SATA a bad idea? * Why do all of the processes suddenly report 100% CPU when main memory runs out? * How can I prevent this in the future? * Is there any other diagnostics or tests that can help determine the root cause? Thanks…

Hi, I am running the latest Armbian stable headless build with legacy kernel for a few weeks now without issue (tvheadend, cups, sane, shairplay-sync, pi-hole). Yesterday I added a dvb-c stick from sundtek which works pretty well. However, I noticed that only 1 USB port works (the one by itself). I can either connect the dvb-c stick or my printer/scanner. Attaching another device to either of the other 2 USB ports does not work... What am I missing?

  17. Hello armbian forum, I have an Orange PI Win plus with armbian desktop legacy kernel 3.10.y on it. I also have a extension board from my Raspberry 1 which I want to use. The Problem is that the extension board needs the pins 8 & 10 for UART communication. I read already that UART(2) over pin 8 & 10 is used for Bluetooth? I don't need Bluetooth and want to disable it to free up the pins. Uart1 Pin 38 & 40 and Uart3 Pin 11 & 13 are working finde. How can I make this? With overlays or editing the .dts files?

SND_USB_AUDIO seems now disabled in Vanilla Kernel. Probably after this commit: - https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/commit/70231cf8ae641650ec8601124db33b5b186a285b This should be why my USB dac doesn't work anymore after an update of the system. Is there any reason or it's only an error? I must thank you Igor for your work.

I would be interested in helping with testing and fixing things atleast with those boards that I have available to me. But I could use some clues. Is there a developers guide to Armbian ? I downloaded and installed armbian (Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113) and updated everything apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade Finally I tried to connect to my wlan (FritzBox 7390, 2,4Ghz, WPA2) via nmtui. After a while I get the message: Could not activate connection: Activation failed I tried to connect to my Smartphone via hotspot instead and that worked fine. Both networks are using WPA2 encription and other settings in both WLAN settings are looking identical... Did I miss something? I uploaded my armhwinfo log here Marcel

  28. I think I know the answer to this but I'll ask anyways. Is there any command line software out there (e.g., VLC) that I could put onto an Armbian Server Edition version that would show a movie out on the HDMI port? I have a NanoPi M1 that has a HDMI port. But I'm assuming that without all the Desktop video driver, it isn't possible to do this on a headless server.

  29. Hello. Is there a way of resetting the USB subsystem in Armbian for Orange Pi Zero? I don't want to unplug and plug a USB device or reboot the system just to reset the plugged USB devices. The above is doable on a PC running Ubuntu with something like this: $: cd /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ehci_hcd $: ls 0000:00:14.0 bind module new_id remove_id uevent unbind $: echo -n "0000:00:14.0" > unbind $: echo -n "0000:00:14.0" > bind Wondering if something similar (I don't really care if the solution is not similar) is doable on Armbian for OPIZ. Cheers!

  36. I'm willing to dusto off my H3-based Orange PI+ 2, because of all the great work that has being done recently on kernel 4.20, 5.0, 5.1 etc to support both H3 and Mali 400/450. However, for some reason, it seems that my board (even though it's officially supported) hasn't been updated past 4.19 kernel, so all the cool things are missing. On the other hand there are some WIP/no-yet-supported Orange Pi boards that DO support 5.1 kernel, so I'm a little bit confused. Is there any roadmap for newer kernels on H3 boards?

The pinout shows pins 2 and 3 (229 and 228 according to the orange pi version of wiringPi) being used to i2c-3. I suspect the firmware update is corrupting the MicroSD card. I originally had an older build running and ran an update/upgrade and my system wouldn't boot (won't power on) after that. I purchased a new MicroSD card, and my system booted with an older build. Not realizing my MicroSD would get corrupted, I tried updating/upgrading again and I'm back to not booting. I don't have enough MicroSD cards to pinpoint the exact package. My working build is from 6.6.17, 24.5.0-trunk.58. It appear…

Just saw this mentioned on Orange Pi forum and had not heard of it, from name nanopi m1 I assumed it was a version of Banana Pi but on looking this and other boards are made by Friendlyarm. Wonder if armbian will get ported over ? Shame these companies don't cover armbians cost to do so . http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=69&product_id=109 Also other SOC boards they make, all good for customer and more Single board computer competition. http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=69

  58. orange pi one H3 idles somewhat warm in part due to a power regulator that switches only between 1.1 and 1.3 v. orange pi pc could idle at pretty low temperatures (closer to room without a heat sink due to a better power regulator as well), and the h3 runs rather hot say > 70deg C when under loads the trouble is the SOC die is 14x14mm, and if one wants to use a large heat sink, it wouldn't fit and you would need to use the copper shim method, to provide some clearance to fit a large heat sink that is troublesome and hence , i made do and made an attempt to try out *small* heat sinks, e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pcs-Computer-Cooler-Rad…

I have an Orange Pi Plus 2 that was running Armbian off of its onboard eMMC module, but I think I may have damaged it while working with the GPIO pins as it now will no longer boot from the module. The board will boot and run OK off of an SD card, but I'd like to copy the OS back to the eMMC module if possible. I've tried to rerun the script 'nand-sata-install', but I receive the error 'There are no targets. Please check your drives'. I'm able to log in to the desktop OK, but when screen updates happen (e.g. when I scroll around in the web browser) the display goes black momentarily, then comes back after a fraction of a second. Now I'd like to get decent web-browsing performance (i.e. 1080 videos on a browser) and I've tried installing the mali drivers with no luck. Is there an updated guide that works with the latest version of armbian? Thanks in advance

  100. Hello, long time Banana Pi user here. I have a BPI-M2+ and recently decided to write Armbian_23.02.2_Bananapim2plus_bullseye_current_5.15.93_minimal.img to emmc. I am using cat6 over gigabit LAN and am seeing scp and rsync transfers to the device averaging 1.7mb/s. Transfering an 850mb file took unusually several minutes. It starts off at 40mb/s then quickly drops to under 2mb/s. Is this typical? I would think over LAN I would be seeing much faster speeds. Untarring this same 850mb archive also took unusually long. Could the emmc be damaged or on it's way out? How would I check? Please see armbianmonitor output. https://pastebin.com/RCa…
