  1. My armbian system is installed from Armbian_community_25.2.0-trunk.160_Orangepipc_bookworm_current_6.6.62_minimal.img.xz. All updates applied. I wanted to make it run with overlayroot. So, I installed the package and added "extraargs=overlayroot=tmpfs" to armbianEnv.txt. After reboot nothing changed. In /run/initramfs/overlayroot.log I found this: builtin set cfgdisk='disabled' [warning]: loaded 'overlay' module but no 'overlay' in /proc/filesystems Unable to find driver/module. searched: overlay overlayfs [failure]: Unable to find a driver. searched: overlay overlayfs I looked into scripts/init-bottom/overlayroot inside the initrd, and f…

  5. i was able to get analog audio from the orange pi one (with some soldering of course) and its plugged into my speakers, but the sound quality is poor while using the default mpv player that came with the image. Were is the equalizer so i can change things like frequencies to make more bass or treble? The music sounds flat like from a portable dvd player.

  6. I just installed Armbian 5.30 Desktop to my Orange PI Plus 2E I want to use for video playback, but built in MPV player. MKV videos quality is good, but the player has very poor functionality. And it plays Xvid Encoded AVI files totally mess way with lots of artifacts, sometimes with colored stripes instead of video stream. I also tried SMPlayer and VLC, but they play some MKV files with green artifacts and AVIs are totally mess. I tried different settings for VLC but have not reached success with the settings. So what video player is universal and good for Armbian ro what settings should I set to get good video quality?

  8. Managed to get RaspAP working on my OrangePi Zero 3 (OPZ3). At the time of writing, the RaspAP quick installer script did not support Ubuntu 24.04 on my OPZ3. So, I decided to try and install RaspAP manually, based on the manual installation step on the site. It mostly went smoothly, with some hiccups along the way. Some tweaks needed were around disabling wpa_supplicant and a missing library for isoquery. Some configuration details: OrangePi Zero 3 with 1GB ram Ubuntu 24.04 (6.12.23) server image downloaded from the Armbian site After all the apt upgrades and updates, the kernal was updated to 6.12.35 Attached below is the…

  11. Let's say I'm deploying hundreds of warehoused devices employing an H5-based Orange Pi Zero Plus, and I need a reliable distinct identifier for each. In another application we're using the MAC address, but that seems not to be EEPROM-ed on the OPiZ+. So, okay, SOC Unique ID has been mentioned elsewhere (MAC generation on the OPiZ+), but where is it available? cat /proc/cpuinfo does not include "Serial". lshw has a "serial" but I'm not sure that's reliable (I've got a Beaglebone that doesn't show one - and it says /proc/cpuinfo Serial: 00000000). So what's a good low-cost (i.e. not by launching Perl scripts) way to obtain the unique CPU identifie…

Then I had updated the UUID in armbianEnv.txt and running the system from SSD was working fine. The system was running headless in my closet for about 2 months, and I even had no problems to remotely restart the device until today, when it did not come back up after a reboot. 18. I had got a OrangePI One Plus (H6) on a few day ago. I had a problem with HDMI to VGA Converter that it do not work with my OrangePI One Plus. Then I fix it by replace regular HDMI to VGA to be HDMI to VGA with 5V external port. 21. Orange Pi Lite - Armbian 5.14 The desktop shutdown (or shutdown -h now) shuts down the desktop, the system starts shutting down, then the desktop starts again, then disappears and the system shuts down. Its not a disastrous problem, but just annoying. I've traced it to the fact that 'nodm' is seeing the desktop stop, and then restarting it. Apparently either 'nodm' isn't getting the shutdown signal, or ignoring it, or getting it too late. Any guidance on what 'nodm' config, or some other config might help me to fix this? /K

I installed bananian (the first distro that I found on internet) but after a week I switched to armbian trying to create my own image from scratch. Very well, I like to have control over things. The question is: I should connect a lipo battery to the board so that when the main power goes off a daemon script syncs sd and then shutdown, but when the main power is reconnected the board must do a reboot automatically. It is possible to do this? Where should my daemon sc…

Thanks for the hard work on Armbian. I finally got the EmulationStation GUI to run under OpenGL ES @ ~88fps on OrangePI PC. The trick was mostly building SDL2 from source and not installing it with apt-get per the instructions. Really want to avoid anything "mesa". IIRC, I configured SDL2 with a similar command before making: ./configure --host=arm-linux-gnueabihf --disable-video-opengl Then building EmulationStation from source using: cmake -DGLSystem=OpenGL\ ES . make make install FWIW I did symlink some shared objects into /usr/lib/ (like libMali.so) Next is sorting out libretro stuff.

So through looking at documentation I was able to decipher that GPIO7 is physical pin 7 on an RPi. I am using pyA20.gpio. Accordingly Pin 7 = PA6. How can I disable the auto login as the root user in the cubietruck ubuntu (XFCE)? That does not sound a good idea. How could I auto login with a different user? The GUI settings editor "display chooser" inside Session Startup doesnt work. I've been looking around how to do that, but in this case I cant find the config file which was supposed to be inside /etc/lightdm/ Thanks and congratulations for your work.

Hi. I am hoping to connect this type of IR receiver to my NanoPi Neo. https://www.jaycar.com.au/arduino-compatible-infrared-receiver-module/p/XC4427 I am hoping that all I need to do is connect 5v, ground and signal to the IR receiver pin to pin 6 on the header. Can anyone help me with the software and what I need to do to install lirc so the IR receiver is recognised? TIA V.

  99. Hello, I'm new to working with Armbian and Linux in general, but I have a HiLetgo VK172 G-Mouse USB GPS/GLONASS USB GPS receiver connected to my Orange Pi PC. When I open it with MINICOM, I get a response, but it doesn't give me the coordinates: $GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,99.99,99.99,99.99*30 $GPGSV,1,1,01,27,,,22*7D L,,,,,203410.00,V,N*4E $GPRMC,203411.00,V,,,,,,,031223,,,N*79 $GPVTG,,,,,,,,,N*30 $GPGGA,203411.00,,,,,0,00,99.99,,,,,,*63 ... But I want to open it for serial communication in /dev/ttyACM0. Thank you very much, and any help you can give me would be appreciated.

  100. Hello First, sorry for my English Second, the problem... I have an Orange PI Zero 3, 4gb I install the OS without any problem, the image I use is the following: "Armbian_23.08.0-trunk_Orangepizero3_bookworm_current_6.1.31-1GB-2GB.img" I configure the network with the program "nmtui", everything is fine. I enter through ssh since the screen is not detected through HDMI, I do an apt update and then apt upgrade... everything seems correct, until I do a reboot... my Orange Pi does not start anymore. I am interested in installing openmediavault, that is why I resort to a debian image. What is the problem? I am not using the correct image? I need your help
