  2. Hi, I have connected Orange Pi Lite over serial UART, but looks like the default settings are to not output the boot log to serial. You can only see U-Boot messages, then "Uncompressing Linux kernel" and after some time the login prompt comes. What exactly do I need to change/configure to get the classic kernel boot log to serial console? Thanks

  4. I am trying to install Tensorflow on my Orange Pi One. Everything seems okay on install, but pip says ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement tensorflow ERROR: No matching distribution found for tensorflow My guess is that the OS is a 32bit version and that Tensorflow runs on 64bit ones only. However, I can't find any source of checking whether the Armbian version I have is 32bit or 64bit.

  12. Hi Guys, I installed armbian on an SD Card and the installed it to the eMMC. Which all worked fine. After a bit of tinkering, it would no longer boot (no ssh access) and when I insert the original sd card now it wont boot from that either. I think I read that the it won't boot from the sd card if there is a valid boot record on the eMMC, so what can I do now? Thanks

After a fresh install and apt-get update apt-get upgrade I get errors with : dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-libc-dev_4.4.0-78.99_armhf.deb (--unpack) This is for the Armbian_5.25_Cubietruck_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.9.7 image, with other images this concerns a different package. Only Armbian_5.25_Cubietruck_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113 works. After this error, the filesystem seems to be defect and is remounted ro. On another try, I removed the rmount ro on error option from the fstab and the /var/lib/dpkg directory was corrupted. …

After researching it for a while I noticed that the wlan0 interface sometimes lost it's IP address. At first I thought it had something to do with the DHCP lease or sleep mode of the adapter. 52. I have few of i2c devices that was successfully tested working with RPi Zero W (Tiny RTC, BME280), but no one is visible to NanoPi Neo Air board with Armbian. 56. Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem with logrotate on my OrangePi Zero with Armbian Focal mainline. Basically I have a process that is always running with a `tee` command that outputs the stdout to a log file in the /var/log/ directory. My logrotate configuration file looks like the following: /var/log/smartbit/gocpp.log { rotate 10 daily compress missingok notifempty copytruncate dateext } It's all working correctly except the copytruncate part: logs are daily rotated and gzipped but the gocpp.log is not truncated to 0 bytes, so it gets bigger and bigger. I noticed that in this new Armbian version logrotate is not triggered…

  65. Hi everybody, I recently purchased a Orange Pi Zero since I needed a tiny board, and after setting it up I noticed that the resolution didn't fit properly in a portable TV I was using. Doing some research (I'm a complete newbie), I found the command "h3disp" ot change resolution on Armbian for H2+ and H3 boards, so I gave it a try. Now it's completely black and no signal on AV IN. Thanks to a post in this site, I noticed that every command in h3disp was for HDMI outputs and that doesn't fit Orange Pi Zero since it supports PAL and NTSC only, so now after changing between 480i and 576i doesn't seem to be showing anything at all. I was wondering if I could restore…

  66. Good afternoon, I am using armbian 5.25 on orangepipcplus with legacy kernel. when visiting google.com site with firefox, I will only see the "mobile" site with restricted functionality. On the bottom of the screen there is a link "Google-Ansicht klassisch" which should bring me to the desktop version of google. But when pressing this a popup tries to come up but will not finish its presentation. Now this tab is blocked, I never get to accept google terms and conditions and can not use google. Do you see the same behaviour? Is there any known remedy? PS: Yes, I tried firefox "safe mode" - same thing! Thanks, gnasch

  68. I am running the newest version of armbian (5.30) on my Orange PI One, but I run into a strange issue. Whenever I connect an usb dongle (RTL8188EU), it is recognised and works, but two NICs are shown in the network manager. Also ifconfig shows interfaces, where the lsusb shows only one device. Also strange is that one is shown as wlan1, but the other as wlx<macaddress>. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

  69. Hi, Is there any sleep or low power modes in orange pi with soft wakeup I want to wake up Orange pi zero at some specific time. For that i go through some forums and searched alot about that but could not found any way to do this. I also go through some 'rtcwake' commands but they didn't work. Any Idea regarding sleep modes and how to wake up would be great help for me. Thanks,

On the device I only use the python programming language, and some image compression and sending operations are being done.I shut down units like Wireless and Ethernet,Desktop but I did not get much acceleration. What are your suggestions? How much acceleration can I record if I start the version of the armbian mainline in ram disk?

  71. I've had an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H5 for a few months, and it is driving me crazy. I can easily boot into the useless Android distro included on the eMMC. I can run most of the distros on the OrangePi website, although they seem to all be missing features or not working 100% in one way or another. I would LOVE to run Armbian on this board. Each time I try, I have huge problems. My video signal is often garbled or at best full of artifacts. I get segfaults every few minutes, and it seems like the filesystem is corrupted. I've tried running it with multiple power supplies (I have several Canakit 2.5amp ones), as well as several different gen…

Hello guys, soon I will receive this nice toy (512MB) and I want to be prepared for my project: a domestic vpn server (using pptp) serving 1 o 2 guests at most. For this project I just need the RJ45 socket thus I would like to switch off as much as possible (e.g. GPU, on board wifi and others if there). Someone can point me to some resources or list what I can do to accomplish this? P.S. I know that pptp is not as secure as IPSec (and maybe IPSec is heavier for such device) but for the purpose of my project it is enough. Thanks a lot Gianni

  75. Hello ! I have a Banana Pi M3 that has 0 output on every pin. I measured 0 output using an oscilloscope. I have been on all of the forums I can think of and I got no answer. How can I make the pins of this damned board work like the ones from a Raspberry Pi ? How does one define a pin ? What does defining a pin means ? Because the pins look dead to me. How do I make them start ? How do I make them to output something... anything ? I am a total and complete noob and I have no idea of the kernel voodoo that has to be done. Hello everyone, I know this is a well known problem of the OPi Zero, but in regarding to "solutions": h3consumption works only with the legacy kernel because of the use of Fex Is there a way to tweak the things h3consumption did in the mainline version? In the mainline version from armbian-config it is possible to disable USB, in /etc/default/cpufrequtils it is also possible to set the maximum frequency and wifi can be disabled. Does anyone know any option for disabling the GPU, limit the DRAM clockspeed and the maximum active cores? Is the only possibility to recompile the kernel, at the moment? Unfortunately the main tu…

I had some embedded 3.x desktop installations in a community museum showing videos (using mpv after a button press) which need revising. So I decided to update the firmware/scripts etc. These are Orange Pi One's... In the past I installed 3.x desktop version as it has better video acceleration. What should I do now? I don't see a focal desktop in downloads. Is it OK to use the focal server, install xfce4 on top of it? Will I have video acceleration? I've been using HEVC .mkv files... 80. I have tried the image for Buster from the Download page for OrangePi PC Plus, and also built new images from current Git repo. In all cases the device bootloops when it tries to start the kernel. The image from the OrangePi website works ok. This looks like a similar issue as experienced recently with CubieTruck and BananaPi A20 boards (https://armbian.atlassian.net/browse/AR-749) which was fixed with a workaround (https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/2963) Is it possibly the same / similar underlying problem?

Normally when you have installed a XFCE-Desktop image for the Pinebook A64 you could set the display brigthness with the following pkexec command to a readable higher level - like I did in the past (possible brightness values are 1-10 - on startup this is only set to 2): pkexec /usr/sbin/xfpm-power-backlight-helper --set-brightness 8 read-out command for the current value: pkexec /usr/sbin/xfpm-power-backlight-helper --get-brightness but on standard CLI-install pkexec and xfpm-power-backlight-helper are missing, so to use this command-line (in /etc/rc.local) you have to install these 2 packages: sudo apt install xfce4-powe…
