  1. I have updated the armbian kernel from version 20.11.3 to version 20.11.6 and eth0 only works by forcing the switch to 100FD. If I leave it on automatic, the port negotiates at 1000FD but loses most packets. Any suggestion?

  3. Hi, i am actually a bit confused. I thought that a NanoPi Neo V1.0! which is set to 1200Mhz Clockspeed, enabled USB and enabled GPU should burn a additonal 1A (fast) Fuse while doing a 100% Stresstest. It doesn't. Just get more speed and heat... I added an additional Wlan Stick for more powerconsumption... but this doesn't help either. In my opinion and the always stated "on 912Mhz" max 2 Watts... it should kill the 1A on 1200Mhz no? 5V 2W = 1A ... I do a small cluster here and i want to save the GND Rail for shortage to save the other nodes if one Node is melted down and cause shortage. I thought a 1A Fuse has to burn up... but reality is kicking my …

  6. Hi, since many month I did not used my BPi M2+ that previously worked with the 5.14 image since not working with the new one 5.25 (sha signature checked = good server image of Debian Jessie downloaded with identical signature). I prepared my SD with the 5.25 armbian image (on the previous 5.14 SD, bad idea) and boot it (with USB/TTL cable and saw in Putty) but it display a message telling me that it does not find ethernet (and even if I insert a RJ45 connected to my router and reboot it this give me the same message). 7. I'm using latest armbian with kernel 4.3.3 and got some problem: I have some usb-drives that should be mounted at boot via fstab. But sometimes they are not mounted at boot, after restart they mount normally. Never had problems with same fstab, only with kernel 4.3.3 it sometimes failed to mount. Seen same behaviour with bananian with 4.3-kernel, so maybe it has to do something with this kernel? Maybe some usb modules didn't load before mounting fstab? But i'm linux noob, so i dont know what i can do... Some suggestions?

  8. Hello there, I belong to the group of users that bought a BPi-M2 to just find out that hardware is nothing without software support. First, to my background: I do spend a lot of time at my computer using both Windows and Linux, but I am not a Linux guru. I used to configure and build kernels several years ago, at the time, when we used LILO to boot Linux. My field of interest is real-time sound processing, based on complex filter banks (ideally implemented using multi-threading). For a current project I needed something small, powerful and easily programmable. Since the BPi-M2 has 4 cores and built-in microphone, it seemed ideal for the first tries. Anyway, I…

  9. Hi I have NanoPi-M1 board. It has two type of Ubuntu-Core as you can see here(https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3q2911p1qp33p/NanoPi-M1Board#dc73df73c6dk6) with kernels (3.4.39 amd 4.11.2). But when I try modinfo fbtft It says there is no file or directory like this! But I think it should be exist in kernels with version above 4.10. By the way, I need this kernel support to running my LCD! Are there any Armbian version like Ubunto core with this module support on kernel? Or can I add this support to yhose Ubuntu files in above link? how?

Hi, Since the armbian release 5.3.6 (Linux 8 jessie 4.13.16-sunxi64) does not contain the module 'nls_utf8', one can not use the OpenMediaVault - OMV - plugin 'Remote Mount' for accessing an external HDD ... for example, which is connected to a Fritz!Box (running Fritz!NAS). Further details please see OMV - Remote Mount: How to mount an HDD that is connected to a Fritz!Box 7490? Please include the module 'nls_utf8' (and maybe some more nls_* modules) in an update compilation, which is based on the same kernel. Many thanks in advance. 21. Edit: Nothing was wrong with the Orange PI. I turned out to be my switch. Hi All, Firstly, Armbian is just fantastic. Secondly, this issue is highly likely to have nothing to do with Armbian, but just the cheap crap you'd expect from a cheap SBC. Essentially, after much pain and anguish having bizarre Ethernet connectivity issues with a shiny new Orange PI PC I bought a couple of days, which was: 1. When OPI was connected my network switch (which has four other devices connected to it: two Ethernet and two WiFi), none of the other devices can reliably 'ping' or SSH to the OPI... 25% to 100% packet loss. 2. When connecting the OPI physically directly to ex…

Looking for any means of finding a unique and permanent MAC address for opilites. Is there some kind of serial number or other unique number of any kind in an H3 SOC or in something on an OPI Lite board that could be used to derive a MAC ? As things currently are I either have to manually setup the mac for each board I build - in a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d or live with the fact that the board comes up with a new mac/ip with every boot.

  45. Hi Forum, My CT with "Armbian_5.14_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_4.6.2" image fails to complete apt-get upgrade and dist-upgrade. I haven't installed or removed any package, simply used the original image as it is. It starts the process, gets the packages, unpacks, starts setting them up and hangs at compiling the new headers. I left it working a full night but found with doing nothing. No cpu or disk activity was seen. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea? Thanks, T

  46. I'm on a years old Orange pi zero H2, an often forgotten single purpose print/scan server board. So i want to upgrade to the latest kernel via armbian-config->system->other(switch kernel). Previously its on 4.19. so when i tried to change to current 5.8.16, 5.8.14, 5.8.12 & 5.8.5, i got "No end-user support: unsupported (stretch) userspace!" it has taken me an hours plus just switching kernel, hoping to find the supported ones. though i dont mind unsupported / legacy kernel, i still prefer the latest supported ones. Is any of the kernel on the list supported? if there none on the list, is there a way to add a supported kernel?…

  48. Hi everyone, I am using an orange pi one to run a table top CNC machine I built and using it to run bCNC to send the g-code to an Arduino. I had downloaded and flashed an image of the Debian Jessie Desktop V5.20 a while ago and it has been working great for other things along the way as well as this project. I had some issues with the bCNC program and decided to uninstall the OS and restart from new. When I did, everything seems normal until I get to the login screen in the terminal area where I have to create a new user account and password and enter my information, then it asks if I want to change the display settings from what I already have which I don't…

  49. Hi guys, today i wanted to access my BPi with armbian installed remote with SSH. Terminal says: port 22: Connection refused. I'm able to ping the BPi. At least last week I was able to access the BPi with remote SSH. When i connect it via HDMI i can see the boot process until it says loading kernel - then the screen turns all black and nothing happens anymore. If I try to access some installed webservices, the browser says it can't connect. What can I do?

Hi Back in February '15 I have started to write an instruction about the setup of a BPi-R1 (Router). In the threads of the Forum, the information is scattered and it takes so much time for each to get along. So I thought such a document would help to become not only faster, but to achieve a better result as well, as you can faster spend time with the device and tweak it. My know how is getting better, but things are still missing. If you like to help the 'community' with your know how, please leave comments in the document if you find errors or you find something missing. Google Docs Thank you in advance - for your support Cheers Tido

  52. This is a simple one, but the most annoying. The only Linux distribution I can not get to work in the Armbian on the Banana Pro. Sandisk 32Gb Class 10 MicroSD card. A USB power supply that does supply sufficient power and current. I write the image to the MicroSD card, insert it into the Banana Pro's card holder, power it up, the red LED lights up and ................. that's where it stops. No heartbeat on the green LED. The one thing I notice is that the image I download has only got one partition on it and that's the ext4 partition. It does not have the small FAT formatted partition and I think this is where it all goes wrong. …

  61. as of some network release before the current (unsupported) 4.11.3 kernel, the networking has started having random value hw mac addresses on every boot. I suspect if you can do so and look @ your DHCP server, you will possibly see the orangepi (or whatever your hostname is) lurking there. Another way to do it if you have to, is to /sbin/ifconfig and get the HWaddr and look for that mac address on your dhcp server. I came by your post while trying to find a workable solution to assigning the mac on the orangepi zero 512 I am bringing up. Jim

Hi, I've installed Debian Wheezy with 4.0.5 kernel on my BPI and connected an 1To hd with sata. When i try to mount it, i get : "mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1, missing codepage or helper program" I can mount it on my other server ubuntu 14.04 LTS with no error. Do you have an idea why i can not mount it on BPI ? Maybe it's due to the Guid Partition Table ? Tks Nerek

  91. I know this is a well known topic but since I didn't find an issue like the one I'm having I felt the need of explaining it. I recently bought an Orange Pi Zero board + extension board with AV, micro and 2 additional USB + case. During the 3 days I've been testing it I've been having a lot of issues related maybe to the heat (or maybe not). I have built a streaming media server called Mopidy, which is pretty cool but at certain times it completely hangs when I'm reproducing audio (by the way, I'm using only stable Debian / Ubuntu because kernel 4.11 isn't detecting the soundcard for some reason). It sometimes takes 1 hour to get stuck, …

Use GPIO.setwarnings(False) to disable warnings." When trying "GPIO.setwarnings (False)" before change output of pin. Pin voltages when write "1" to output: PA13 -> 3V PA14 -> …

Hello! I wrote the legacy image to a sd card and put it into the card slot. I can see something like diagnostic message and then "starting kernel". After that there is no video output. Neither over VGA nor over HDMI. Is that wanted? I tried 3 different monitors, but no chance. I can connect via ssh after a few minutes, but using a monitor and a screen would help, when there is no network. What am I doing wrong? Greetings, Pille

  94. Hello... I've got an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H3 with Armbian Stretch. If I do update and upgrade and then try to activate SPI, it is not working. I dont find the spi device in /dev. Any idea what could be the problem? P.S: Before last week, I didn't have this problem. So I think it is related to a recent update done on this image. Thanks in advance. …

I have OrangePi Zero and have forgotten password. I have two users, root and ordinary user. Is it possible to change some file on SD card to reset password? Regards, M.

  97. I have couple H3 and A20 devices and all run fine except one - Opi Lite, running latest Arbian (5.26) with built in wifi connected does not close SSH session upon reboot/poweroff. The session eventually times out on client but sometimes I have to kill it manually. There are no modifications to PAM nor systemd-logind configurations and the configuration is exactly the same as on other devices. I'm wondering what may cause this misbehaviour, and how can I fix this? (This topic was created yesterday before db failure/site update and I can't find it now on restored site, I guess it has been lost)

  98. I just updated two Orange Pi One boards and rebooted them to get to the new kernel only to have them boot loop. I know, development, not supported. I'm not asking for a solution, I'm just alerting people to the situation so they can avoid messing up their boxes. Console log attached if you're curious. orangepione.txt

Hello! Sorry, I can't speak english well! A year ago, I buy my Orange Pi PC, and download last image of Armbian, and it work's well. But yesterday, I update my system through apt-get, and notice that there be some kernel packages. There was packages, with "sunxi" or "sunx7" in his names, don't remember well. Hello I was wondering how can make possible usage of software raid1, using integrated emmc and another card placed into the slot. So far I have used that on Slackware x86 without any issue, but there I tells the Lilo to boot from /dev/md0 for example. Wonder where I should make adjustments here (in Armbian(. Can someone point me at the right direction?
