  1. For the second time within about 4 weeks my cubietruck is not coming up anymore after a sudo apt upgrade and reboot. Is there something systematically breaking? I think it is the initramfstools that is breaking it? Now, I have no radio, alarm-clock and I cannot turn on my coffee-maker over the internet and I will probably have to spend a day etching a new SD card etc. I bought a new SD card last time this happened since I figured ist would be related to that, now I think it is a software thing. I use the cubietruck headless over ssh and have no real video output, just audio. I also need to do some cumbersome operations t…

Hi everyone, I'm new to Orange Pi Zero 2w and Armbian. I'm trying to use the image on the zero2w. Installing on the SD fits and works so far. Unfortunately, there is no image on the screen via the HDMI port. Could it be due to the image? The old OrangePi image with the 5.x kernel works so far. Do you have an idea? Best regards

I have a problem similar to post http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/182-freezing-problems-with-bpi-r1/:my board is blocked for the second time. But my configuration is quite different from that post: Kernel: linux-image-next-sunxi 4.3 (version 4.2.0-sunxi) UBoot: linux-image-next-sunxi 4.3 (2015.07) RootFS: on sda1 powered by the board (WDC WD10JFCX-68N) UpTime: about 10 days before my last restart. When the board is blocked I can't interact with the debug console on the serial port. I cant't find anything interesting in /var/log, but I'm not really an expert.

Hi, After reading a post about NAS for allwinner, I need some advices: So far I have same performance on my raspberry pi b+ and my orangepi2e : 2 hard drives 2 To 2,5" usb on a powered hub. (approx 11 Mb/s max through AFP/nfs share). Gigabit does not seem to be the bottleneck on the pi since it does not impact my bit rates. My question is simple : can I have better performance if I make a RAID via btrfs ? Do I have to format my hard drives ? What is the best distro ? (I used armbian but does not seem very stable compared to the raspberry, what about ubuntu server, or raspbian ?) Thanks

My board works fine on TF card with every image FriendlyElec, DietPi and you here provide, but i haven't managed to make it boot from eMMC. On official Wiki there are some misleading. Anyway, if i burn boot image on TF card, should eMMC stays empty or to burn on it, say, root image? Or to burn root image on TF? I had a few attempts but no luck. Obviously. 27. I tested the actual Xenial on my BPP but got a crashdump each time I reboot or shutdown the system. I found, that armhwinfo was causing this crash by removing the module a20_tp. Disabling the line /sbin/modprobe -r $(cut -f1 -d' ' </proc/modules) in /etc/init.d/armhwinfo avoid this problem. This line is part of a patch Thomas Kaiser introduced in October last year. I don't know, if this problem occurs only in my configuration (nothing special, but a connected Lemaker 5" LCD may be the difference), or it is related to the Kernel 3.4.113 only, but it goes reproducably wrong, if this line is active. It cause the oposite of the intention of this patch, because after…

Drivers seem to be broken (05.02.2017 compilation - I read about the broken drivers, but do not have the solution) …

  48. It seems that the latest Nano Pi Neo Air Boards and the relatively new Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 both use a modified version of the AP6212 WiFi+Bluetooth module, which is physically labelled as AP6212A. This new module apparently requires different drivers to operate. From my own experience, I was unable to get the internal WiFi module to work on a Nano Pi Neo Air (with AP6212A) using any of the Armbian distributions. However, I was able to get WiFi to work on that board with the Friendly Arm distribution at from https://www.mediafire.com/folder/sr5d0qpz774cs/NanoPi-NEO_Air#oc15bwqbuxgxe. I just received a second Nano Pi Neo Air from a different vendor, and this …

  53. Hey All, I moved my armbian OS from OPI H5 Zero Plus2 to OPI H5 Zero Plus (the one with the LAN), the WiFi is working perfectly but the LAN is not recognized, nor i can find any sign on dmesg or boot (but its there, i see it). ifconfig and ifconfig -a show only the "wlan0" and "lo". I am using ARMBIAN 5.64.181015 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS 4.14.76-sunxi64 with (armbian-config for Zero Plus 2) As it took me pretty much time to spin-up the OS, i would like to avoid burning a new OS. Is there a way to activate it or add/build it drivers? Many thanks

  54. Hi I discovered that there are two versions of M64 bananapi. The first version on which all the kernel numbers go. The second version, which is not the kernel 4.19.x - kernel panic. The system will not run. I can not give you memory numbers because I covered it with sticking the heat sink. The first version is a model bought in 2016. The second version is the this year's model. The situation is similar to that of Nano pi T3 +

  55. hi all, I've been running into an issue where the kernel starts throwing error messages (https://pastebin.com/bmPJPeq0), the board becomes very slow and the cpu load goes to 11 and stays there. This seems to happen when I change the CPU freq using armbian-config to anything lower than 528MHz. Any ideas how I could resolve this?

Before Armbian, I had Cubian installed on an SD card. I saved the NAND root data and all the NAND? sub-partitions, so I have a full image of the original NAND and images of each partition. I took out the card, and inserted a fresh Armbian installation, it boots up quickly and works fine. However, as I wanted to set my CubieBoard2 up so it boots from a S-ATA disk (I bought a 1TB WDC drive), I decided to run nand-sata-install. But I got only one menu item to select, so I cancelled. I just tested DRAM reliability with my BPi M2+ just to realize that this board doesn't run stable even with just 624 MHz clockspeed (currently testing 600 MHz for an additional hour or so). Just get more speed and heat... I added an additional Wlan Stick for more powerconsumption... but this doesn't help either. In my opinion and the always stated "on 912Mhz" max 2 Watts... it should kill the 1A on 1200Mhz no? 5V 2W = 1A ... Sorry for the minimal info provided in this report but, due to the possible data corruption which the bug may cause, I'm not willing to reproduce this again on my board which runs in production. One week ago, I experienced data corruption happening on the nanopi. Last night I was digging through the logs, and i found an error msg that said that I was over clocking the board without without heat protection. Couple of Questions: 1 I don't have a heat sink on the CPU, do I need one? 2 I haven't done anything to the CPU speed, and running Wheezy and Jessie off of different SD's. Is overclocking turned on in the release? It is really cold here in the high Desert, right around freezing for 4 to 12 hours every night. Not as cold as northern EU, but cold. The room temp is probably 60-65 degrees F. I have the Micro in the Micro case from Olimex. Does the processor need a heat sink? thanks in advance Mike

  92. Hi, Using the latest Armbian release (19.11.3) on OPi Zero (512MB, board revision 1.5) I have a strange issue. On kernel 5.3.x, Ethernet connectivity drops sporadically, around once every couple of minutes, for typically 10 seconds or so and then recovers. When the drop happens, a ping from another machine on the network produces 'no route to host' - then after around 10 seconds or so the network comes back up. The OPi Zero continues running normally during the 'outage', without functional network access. There is nothing in the dmesg log when this happens. Switching to kernel 4.19.62 from armbian-config, everything works perfectly. Back to 5.3.x, the iss…

  93. Hi there. I want to use a push button on a GPIO to shutdown O Pi Zero safely. Though the acpid way runs fine on an O Pi One, I wonder if there is a way to make it work on a O Pi Zero. Please direct me if its documented somewhere already. Thanks

  94. Gents, installed Armbian Bullseye successfully to my Banana Pi M2 Berry. In second step i moved the OS to my attached 2,5 WD RED Sata Harddrive. This was easily possible with the command "sudo nand-sata-install". But now, i see that my /var/log is full, because its located in ZRAM. root@BananaPiM2Berry:/etc/systemd/system# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 431M 0 431M 0% /dev tmpfs 100M 11M 90M 11% /run /dev/sda1 687G 1,3G 651G 1% / tmpfs 500M 0 500M 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 5,0M 4,0K 5,0M 1% /run/lock tmpfs 500M 0 500M 0% /tmp /d…

Hi guys. I installed Armbian 23.8 Bookworm on mmc and I have not eth0 interface. WiFi works. Could you help me?

  96. I've installed Armbian 23.11.1 Bookworm on a FriendlyElec ZeroPi. On the cmdline the linux command who gives the following output: dgs pts/1 1011643795265722162 (172.20.10.14) Usually it should be (as on a Debian Bookworm distribution): dgs pts/0 2023-12-14 10:43 (172.20.10.14) Instead of showing date and time the Armbian who command outputs this long integer number. Why? Is this a bug or do I miss any configuration? PS: the locale settings is identical on both devices, date shows on both devices the correct time.

Hello community, Kernel 4.3.x should have support for DMA engine on A20 boards, see: http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort#Merged_into_4.3 Does / should this also improve the SATA write performance? After update to kernel 4.3.3 from apt.armbian.com I cannot see any big write Performance increase... thanks for comments... best regards and a happy new year... holsteiner

Hi! I'm using a mosfet to control a fan based on temperature on my opipc, but now it just turns on and off. I'd like to control the rpm with pwm, but I cannot use any of the pins with wiringop :S I read on an other forum that the h3 has only one pwm, but which one is the pwm pin, and how could I use it? Thanks in advance!

  100. This is a rather interesting board isn't it? H3, GPIO, 0.5GB memory. http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/07/07/smaller-than-raspberry-pi-zero-meet-nanopi-neo-arm-linux-development-board/ Would it be possible to run this on Armbian?
