Can anyone point me in the right direction for an Armbian image that would allow audio recording over the 3.5mm jack? I'm trying to record audio over the 3.5mm jack. This works on a previous installation, but I'm trying to update to a curreent Armbian. Running Tinkerboard S R2.0 and this image: Armbian_25.2.1_Tinkerboard_noble_current_6.12.13_xfce_desktop.img Playback works record does not. Hi all, looking for a bit of advise. I had an idea recently in that I have a problem of syncing a 20Tb USB 3.0 RAID0 drive with a 20Tb NAS. I have two fully duplicated RAID0 drives with no protection, so whenever I upgrade the capacity of a drive, I do a full sync. I do this maybe once a year. Whenever I have to do a full sync however it usually ties my MacBook up for a few weeks to transfer that much data over, so I had the idea recently of having a maker board do it since Linux/Armbian supports HFS+, I can just do an rsync between the two. I opted to purchase a Tinkerboard for the GigE Ethernet (I'll live with the USB 2.0), installed, up and running all…

I confess, I have no idea what to do with the contents of this repository. Any help would be great, as I've said before, my Linux experience is lacking on things, the work I do is usually in hardware with kiB of RAM... I'm working on the assumption that this would be the best lib to install, if I'm wrong, let me know. https://github.com/rockchip-linux/libmali

Hi guys, sorry, on with my second issue with the Asus Tinker Board and installing a DS3231 Real Time Clock module. I've tried following any instructions on the internet for Tinker Board use and a couple for the Raspberry Pi, from recompiling the kernel through to trying to edit boot files. I just cannot get this thing working so I've now got myself a fresh install of Armbian Stretch 4.14 and ready to go again. Can anybody provide a step-by-step installation for the Tinker Board and this module (I've been told the DS1307 is the same kernel module but for the life of me I cannot find any modules/.ko's available in Armbian)? If anyone has troubles with HDMI when using 5.x kernels, and has enough skills to recompile an armbian, give this a try : https://github.com/Miouyouyou/build And then either answer here, or in the bug report : https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/1887

Hey everyone I've compiled my own kernel using this awesome tool, and I'm now running it on a tinker board. Everything's been working fine, except for one annoying thing I just ran into: I can't use the GPIO pins. When I try to use a pin in python I just get this message back: "RuntimeError: This gpio is set to other function!". If I run Debian I can use the gpio just fine, but I need some kernel modules that doesn't ship with Debian. That's why I've compiled my own armbian kernel. Anyways, any idea on how to fix this? Any special module I should add when compiling the kernel? Thanks Marius

I've been (trying) to move the Tinker and MiQi u-boots to 2020.07, however if I use any of the following: A MiQi, A Tinker S an image for a Tinker S an image for a Tinker on a Tinker S I get stuck in the initramfs busybox with it telling me the filesystem is toast. The only 2020.07 combo I've gotten to boot is the Tinker with the non-eMMC supporting u-boot. As for clues, I haven't found any, the u-boot source code is of course very well organized for debugging purposes . If anyone has an idea about what could be going on with this let me know, I'm shelving the effort to think about other stuff.

I have spent a considerable amount reading docs and getting my head around building a custom default kernel & desktop image. Patching the kernel and optimising the desktop environment is working well. The remaining question is: How do I select a specific - kernel 4.4.174 (based on armbian-release 5.75) ? It defaults to 4.4.176 and 5.86.

I'm using Armbian on a Tinker Board S. I did the installation back when the 4.4 kernel was still the default one. I expected that I'd get the newer 4.19 kernel by using 'apt update && apt dist-upgrade' at some point as it would become the new stable. This does not seem to be the case however, as I see the new downloads use 4.19 by default, but the stable package still points to a 4.4 kernel. Is it recommended to just move up by installing the kernel package with the next suffix or are there still reasons to wait with upgrading?

Alright, the biggest issue with the ASUS Tinkerboard being "resolved", I'm starting to take care of the VPU driver, in order to use it with mainline kernels. The hardware video encoding/decoding facilities are the real meat of the RK3288, and recent Rockchip boards. The VPU driver aims to use these facilities in order to provide the smooth video playback experience that every Netflix/Hulu addict expects when buying such boards. Which mean, once this part dealt with, you might be able to enjoy your Multimedia oriented distributions/softwares on your Rockchip boards (MiQi, Tinkerboard and maybe Pine64 too !) So the driver is already …

Hi, i get a probleme with the actual uart acces config by default on Uart2 (pin 32, 33), because i need to use PWM pin (use to set motor speed with a L293D) and on the board only pin 32, 33 can be use with PWM. Now i am using 32 33 pin as PWM but if the cable on these pin is connected the board doesn't boot, maybe because the uarts of u-boot use these pin and the result of un connected cable to my setup = Critical fail. When i remove the cable on pin 32 the board boot. So i need to solve that because i don't want to disconnect this cable at each start and i want to use uarts with this setup. I need to change uart2 to uart1 or find a way to get PWM or a other pin option …

Hello there. At present I power my Tinker Board S with a bench power supply set to 5.25V. The power supply has 10A current limiter. I measure the voltage at the GPIO pins using a 6.5 digit multimeter (in cal). The micro usb cord is 1.2 meters (4 feet). When the board is running in tinker os at idle, it is drawing 500mA, and i read 5.00V on the GPIO. But when I load the CPU using sysbench the current spikes to 1.6A, and the voltage measured on the GPIO drops to 4.45V. I measured that the micro USB cable is 0.37Ohm resistance, so about 0.55V of that power drop is due to the micro usb cable. That means all of the voltage drop is not due to the power c…

Hello! I would like to know if it is possible to use the microUSB-Connector for connecting a USB device (a 7-port USB hub in my case)? Do i need some extra kernel packages and/or USB OTG to make it work? Thanks in advance, aElmecker

Hi I have a Philips pcf8563 RTC that connects to i2c-1. Could you please add support for RTC modules please particularly the pcf8563 and the DS1307 as these seem to be the most popular although some more models would be welcome. *Updated 7-23* ~~All kernels should be fixed at this point, Legacy, Next, and Dev.~~ The ASUS Tinker Board has a big problem with rebooting properly, centered around the SD card power supplies. Upon issuing a shutdown request, the kernel is turning everything off , including the vmmc regulator. To make matters worse, vqmmc is set to 1.8 Volts if you use a UHS SD card, and the kernel is not switching it back to 3.3 volts before rebooting, which is required if the Rockchip boot ROM is to communicate with the device. The result is a hung board in MaskROM mode. For the Default kernel (4.4), a patch was carried over from the vendor softwa…

U-Boot 2018.05 and kernel 4.14.53 are working fine so far with the current patchset published on GitHub (thanks for this great work!). However, the only issue I am still having is, that the ethernet port always comes up with "no-link" on the intial powerup of the Tinkerboard. As soon as I software reboot it after the initial powerup the ethernet port perfectly comes up with a link and I am able to setup all IP data, etc. But as soon as I completely power down the system and replug the power-cable it a…

I have Tinker Board S. I have been using both Tinker OS and Armbian for a while. Recently I upgraded to 5.4.28-rockchip. I noticed that randomly and frequently when I watch cnn.com or other media, my video would freeze. Initially I thought the firefox or chromium crashes. However, later, I realized it was the network issue. Other devices were still able to connect to the internet. When I checked the ifconfig, the network devices still showed proper connection. However, there is no way to ping any URLs. Disconnecting/reconnecting network does not fix the issue. The only fix was reboot. How can I troubleshoot this issue? I was trying to do armbianmonitor but at …

I have a brand new Tinker Board S with the latest Armbian buster installed. I have hostapd set up for the board to be a WiFi access point. I can see the SSID on my Windows and mobile devices but when I connect, hostapd tells me an error code 8 and that the device is disassociated. I don't think this is the issue as the kernel panics at exactly the same time. Here is the output from dmesg: [ 101.279674] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 101.284852] kernel BUG at mm/slub.c:4117! I grabbed the "Armbian 25.8.1 Bookworm Minimal / IOT" image from https://www.armbian.com/tinkerboard/, landed it on a microSD card, booted it, and ran apt update apt upgrade apt install linux-headers-current-rockchip apt install zfs-dkms zfsutils-linux This gets me linux-image-current-rockchip 25.8.1 (kernel 6.12.44-current-rockchip) and a module built from zfs-dkms 2.3.2-2~bpo12+2. So far so good. And then I ran modprobe zfs.ko and was rewarded with the following panic in the kernel's module loader: [ 1128.728803] spl: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel. [ 1128.859152] zfs: module license 'CDDL' taints kernel. [ 1128.859178] Disabling lock debuggin…

I still have a problem configuring the wifi hotspot on the armbian distribution for tinkerboard. The hotspot is clearly unstable. So none of my computers can't connect to it and my phones and tablets have a unstable connection. I thought having found a turnover using a call to iw with a frequency of 1s. This was reactivating the wifi for some times (that should simulate a continuous connection) but it looks that it doesn't work anymore. So I am stuck with that, I am unable to configure a stable hotspot. Is there something to do with the rtl8723 driver, or have I no hope to make it works ?

Hello Guys. สมัครสมาชิกufabet เว็บพนันบอลต่างประเทศ I want to extend the current kernel (Tinkerboard with rockchip-kernel-4.4.120 on Debian-Armbian) to include IR (GPIO) and DVB modules. What do I have to consider or is this possible with the usual run-through? (copy .config from current system, make menuconfig, make, sudo make install, sudo make modules_install) Is there possibly already a tutorial that I have not seen?

I try to understand the usage of Tinkerboard for Industrial Application usage, we have below questions. 1. Operating temperature is between 0-60 C [as many Industrial PLCs recommend 0-55 C only] 2. Long Term Supply of the Boards 3. Bulk Quantities buying [Get 30 to 50 boards in 2-4 weeks notice] The board and quality seems top notice, RPI interface is good for our use cases, anyone sees a risk in above points or would like to suggest something? We are looking a good sized community, Ubuntu OS, much stable and better performing board compared to Raspberry PI, all seems good with Tinkerboard. Please share your idea…

Anyone who typically updates on nightly kernels I would recommend freezing and not updating until we clear up some issues gifted us by some large amount of upstream changes that broke well, pretty much everything. I will update this thread as things get brought back to life. June 7th 2018: I've made a branch (rockchip-default) to work out the kinks. So far I have the board booting and Mali working again (with an initial error on load) , however there is no HDMI terminal, so initial boots would require a uart or SSH hdmi terminal is back thank you to Ntemis on github, I'd missed part of the conversation (I only have cell phone while at w…

Just got my new tinkerboard powered up with armbian. For some reason I could not get anything after build 1.3 off the Asus site to boot! Anway, first impressions good, however in the graphics settings it seems to max out at 1920 x 1080 whilst on paper the tinkerboard is supposed to support 4k. I'll admit I am new to linux so perhaps i'm missing something ovbious, but if someone could explain how I can up the resolution to 3,840 x 2,160 that would be great. For the avoidance of doubt I have it connected to an Acer 27" 4k monitor.

Since Armbian moved to the official Rockchip kernel, camera support should work with their new ISP1 driver. I built an image with the needed drivers but unfortunately it doesn't boot anymore... Hey everybody, First, thanks for Armbian. The Asus Tinkerboard and the ROCK64 both have the same processor. I'm interested why the Asus Tinkerboard gets the mainline kernel, but the ROCK64 only gets the legacy kernel. Why is this?

Hello, I usually use the Next version of the image for the tinkerboard. I would like to use the nightly version. But the nightly version does not automatically log on to the user I created at the beginning in contradiction to the other version. How do I reactivate automatic login in nightly build ? Thanks

Hi I was struggling to find the right package for my Tinkerboard. I needed a reasonably powerful 24x7 appliance that could provide torrent downloading, wifi hotspot, a shared network drive and a LMS box. After trying out the Asus effort and DietPi - both with severe issues) I landed on Armbian and it seems to have everything going for it but the LMS install just does not work. I am a Linux newbie, I know my way around Windows and a GUI, and used the instructions here and a few other places to successfully set up the hotspot and the sharing and automounting of large USB drives. It took me the better part of 6 hours just to figure all of that out (j…

Hy again :p; I have customed my sd for my tinkerboard. i have done some settings like eth0 in static, partitions modified scripts and hostapd. When i put it in another Tinkerboard, everything works except wifi ap. I have searched why, and i have found that in my initial tinkerboard wifi is wlan0 and his settings is in /etc/network/interfaces.d/armbian.ap.nat When i put my SD in another tinkerboard, it is wlan1 which mounts and no wlan0. Wlan1 has no ip address. i don't see where is the problem? thanks by advance

Hello, I'm unable to make the RTL8723BS chip on my Tinker Board to work on AP mode with the 5.4 kernel (same configuration works on legacy kernel). When I try to connect I get this error on dmesg: RTL8723BS: ap recv deauth reason code(3) sta:40:4e:36:cf:8a:18 On the console I also get a bunch of kernel errors similar to this: Message from syslogd@localhost at Dec 27 14:26:11 ... kernel:[ 799.239910] ff60: bf0377a4 dd8057e8 dd07ffac dd07ff78 c014a17c bf0377b0 de2d9128 de2d9128 Is this a known problem? Thanks

Hi out there! I've managed to build a quite complex system based on Tinker, using 1 Wire sensor, I2C-s, all of all UART's, and all of all remaining GPIO's... :-) Unfortunately a long term test in a climate chamber have failed... (although the core was just heated up to 70 degrees Celsius) The need for a hardware watchdog then arise... I've build new kernel using latest compile.sh with the HW watchdog checked resulting Linux tinkerboard 4.4.110-rockchip #2 SMP Wed Jan 10 16:41:03 CET 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux but there is no /dev/watchdog Not even in /proc/iomem at ff800000... …
