Hello i have a KM9 S905x2 and want to get linux on my box and keep havoing issues trying to boot into Armbian.

i have buy cheap tv box tripsky mini q3, i have look on recovery is based a95x_r2 and have this specs : and i search on google for dtb is in here : https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/arch/arm64/boot/dts/amlogic/meson-gxlx-s905l-p271.dts i don't know how to port this, because i don't have any experience for porting this support, any support on this ?

To run latest desktop build on F3 Air one can use below steps. I am not sure if there is an easier way exist. 1) Downloaded the image Armbian 22.05 Jammy XFCE from Odroid HC4 section. 2) Write to SD CARD, this will create ext4 partition. 3) Use Partition tool of your choice and create another Partition at the beginning of disk and format as FAT type. 4) copy the files from /Boot to FAT drive and place the u-boot.ext file from old release which worked for you earlier. 5) Place the extlinux folder with extlinux.conf file and update the FDT. 6) Rename the files like image and initrd as required. …

After having seen the continuous hardware changes made by the manufacturers of the cheap Android TX boxes, I would like to understand if it is possible to recover the firmware, therefore the factory Android image compatible with the Amlogic USB Burning tool. So if next year or whatever, if i want to go to my first day after the installation, I could go quickly. What will be the best way to create a "rescure image usb" ? I have an OTT TV Box, model ABOX-A1 ( 1G + 8G, S905X ). Inside it looks very similar to NEXBOX A95X. When it starts up while connected to a Protron PLTV-26 TV, the TV EDID gets changed. This happens both with the original Android and when booting Armbian. I don't think it's due to Armbian. I wonder if it is due to startup code on eMMC or SOC ROM. I've been trying to run Armbian using the Armbian_community_24.8.0-trunk.554_Aml-s9xx-box_bookworm_current_6.6.45 image along with a 16GB Sandisk Ultra SD Card (flashed using balenaEtcher), and my main issue is initramfs not being able to mount /dev/mmcblk0p2 as a root file system. I've been using this setup for a few good weeks without issues, same powered hub and everything, however after accidentally unplugging the server and being unable to boot I decided to reimage the SD Card and now the box refuses to detect my external 1TB 2.5" HDD (powered hub). Hi, I have installed Armbian on an SD card and can successfully boot from SD by holding reset button during power plug. Given that it is not possible to install Armbian to eMMC on S905, is it possible at least to make it always boot from SD?

Downloaded the official version Armbian Imager. Created a bootable USB drive. Edited the file extlinux.conf for the TV box. I tried to install it, but nothing happens (I pressed the button inside the mini-jack; the USB indicator flashes five times, and Android boots up). Anyone else ever get just a blank screen? I’m trying to install onto a Trongle S3 box. I’ve tried a number of dtb’s but as it’s a relatively rear box nothing is definite. Tried to match them by spec but hoped it would at least register an output on my monitor. I get a no signal notification. I will be trying to tty the com port but this includes soldering so wanted to see if anyone else knew of a possible solution before I spent time doing this.

Hello all, First straight to the point. Are there some issues with using Amlogic boxes as headless servers with armbian? For some reason ethernet "dies" if I boot it without HDMI connected and it doesn't "come back" even if I connect it back to the monitor and power it on again. I have to reflash SD card with fresh armbian to get it back up. Is this some known issue when using android boxes or is this something else? I tried two DTB files for S912 but there was no change. Hi, I have these 3 Android TV boxes, chipset : Amlogic S905D Quad core ARM Cortex-A53 Amlogic S905-B, Quad core Cortex A53 Amlogic S905 Quad Core Which of these boxes can have Armbian installed on it, specifically onto the internal eMMC memory? I am willing to use even older versions of modified armbian that can be installed on the emmc without upgrading. Especially if it can be installed in emmc. If it is not possible to install it in the internal emmc memory, how can I at least use the internal emmc memory for data (Boot from SD card, use internal memory for data) ?

Hi I have x96 box with s905x cpu, a long time ago i flashed it with libreelec and it was running from emmc only without a problem. Now flashed armbian to emmc but bootloader works only from usb or sdcard (cannot see mmc). Tried images s905x and s905x-t95 - same result. Is this a result of some misconfiguration/image selection or ..? Currently using sdcard for boot partition only as workaround.

Hi, I have a H96 prop plus tv box, which I managed to install and works fine. I want to highlight the work done here, where the dtb modified to be "meson-gxm-q200-mod.dtb" which works well, except that the OS cannot be moved to eMMC. Can I check if this dtb can be the default in the device selection list (203 is the number for this device) . Currently thr default dtb is meson-gxm-octopus-planet.dtb, which does not have the wifi and bluettoth working. Also, can the mainline boot file can be dafaulted to "u-boot-s905x-x912x.bin" file? Hi i have done a few boxes with armbian installed, some boxes wifi do not work but that is to be expected.But i got a amlogic box now that is giving me intrm error,It seems i can boot armbian and it loads up but after the loading it just get stuck at intrims.This has somethnig to do with the boot process from sd card.When i boot it form usb stick it works fine but the same setup from sd card gives me that error. I suspect the second part to boot the os is controlled by the box,I need to have first boot all the time What can i do to modify the sd card.

I found an older Armbian version (and dtb) that works on this box and I have network and everything, so I'm happy with it, except that I would like to add also NAND support. Hello to all January of 2020 I installed armbian on my Mini M8s (S905X). The installation is on e-MMc and I did not keep a backup of the original eMMc firmware. It is Debian Buster. So I am stuck on linux 5.3.0-aml-g12. What is the upgrade path to a more recent kerner and/or Debian version? If possible I would like to keep my root filesystem, I have some servers running on it. As far as I understand the SPDIF and AV ports are not supported with Armbian, however, HDMI Audio is I think. Hello, i tried "Armbian_community_25.11.0-trunk.208_Aml-s9xx-box_plucky_edge_6.16.7_xfce_desktop.img" booting from a usb stick. First it looked, that it loads (the minix logo disappeared for some 100ms) which indicates that it loads, but then at the end the internal android booted. For comparison "LibreELEC-AMLGX.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20250926-2f25ce3-box.img.gz" booted fine, even from the sdcard slot. My final goal is, to run "tvheadend" as server with a "Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD" Usb STick and "Moonlight" client for "sunshine" on a 1280x1024@60hz nec display.
