Hello all. I'm obviously a newbie to this all and have a Libre Le Potato I just purchased. Put in Armbian Bullseye and got everything configured so my Python script runs on boot and writes the data it records by sending a byte string through the USB port to a device and records the parsed response. All is well there, but I needed to add an RTC to this and I have many DS3231 boards that I've integrated with Arduino boards recently and they all work well. I've soldered the connections to the 3.3V, GND, SDA, and SCK pins and matched those to the GPIO pins 1, 9, 3, and 5 respectively. I've gone into 'armbian-config' and enabled…

  9. Hey all, So recently I got myself an Orange Pi Prime so I could attempt to do some SPI flashing through spidev and flashrom. I have been going at it, set up the board, got an actually decent power supply, and set up everything. Eventually I got myself into the steps of setting up the pins for spi use. At first, I used armbian-config to enable the spidev into /boot/armbianEnv.txt then I added param_spidev_spi_bus=0 into armbianEnv.txt I rebooted and the spi device file still doesn't show up, any ideas? I have: went through armbian-config (System -> Hardware -> spi-spidev) added param_spidev_spi_bus=0 to armbianEnv.txt …

I think the w1-gpio pin assigned in the supplied overlay is messing up access of the SD card. I found some helpful information from this post: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php ... #pid100639 I copied the overlay code, modified it to use GPIO2_A2 (pin 7 on the 26pin header), compiled it and copied the new dtbo file to "/boot/overlay-user/" . 49. Hi all, I have a Rock64 running on the "official" image (at the time, according to the official Pine64 documentation) "Armbian Ubuntu Bionic XFCE Desktop". Recently I updated it but suddenly it stopped working. After rebooting, all the 3 LEDs were lit, ON all the time and that was about it. I thought it was some kind of SD card corruption because it couldn't load some files from the SD card after the update and before rebooting. The only thing that came to mind to fix this was to restore a backup I had from Dec 2020. So I restored it and it worked again! But guess what... after updating the 280 packages that had an update, it stopped working again. But this time it w…

  51. This is a really weird struggle: I have 2x cubieboard that are exactly identical (same HW, same board revision) including the LAN chip (realtek RTL8201CP). Both boards work fine with an earlier version of Armbian. I learned that there is an (unsupported) Armbian 21.08.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.15.25-sunxi which I installed on both. 52. Dear community, dear @Igor (as maintainer of NEO3 CSC), thanks a lot for the NEO3 support. This board ran rock solid for me approx. two years straight – much more stable than my other SBCs running Armbian (due to various reasons, no offense :)). However, the board failed to boot with "ERROR: Did not find a cmdline Flattened Device Tree". It appears that ``rk3328-nanopi-neo3-rev02.dtb`` went missing. This must have happened when upgrading the package ``linux-dtb-current-rockchip64`` from 21.08.2 to 22.02.1. As a workaround, it helps to (download the CSC image for the board again, get the file out of the image,) place the file in ``/boo…

  54. Hi there, I have too many SBCs running Armbian with very recent kernels (even two Raspberry Pi 3B), and I love the consistency of my herd. I will change job next month, and I will at last be able to have a Linux machine as my daily driver... The thing is, I will need Windows too for video editing so that I need to keep it available when needed. I was thinking of Manjaro or Linux Mint for the freshness of their kernels (as the laptop hardware is pretty recent), but I gave a try yesterday at Armbian on x86_64, and it went almost well. 57. My OPi Zero is not accessible via SSH after installing the new supported image Armbian 22.02 Jammy. After the install, the device is up and ping-able. Any attempt to SSH in with `ssh root@<ip-address>` ends in a `ssh: connect to host 192.168.88.9 port 22: Connection timed out` error. When I reboot the board and try again, it's still the same issue. 62. This is for those experiencing a similar issue on the Rock Pi 4B (possibly RK3399 in general) who don't have a fix yet. On Armbian Focal current for the Rock Pi 4B the sound from both HDMI and the audio jack stopped working and became undetectable to the system (Both Pulse-audio and ALSA couldn't detect anything except hdmi-sound and even then HDMI sound did not work). I fixed the issue by rolling back to the latest "current" kernel version in armbian-config (5.10.63-rockchip64). Now the system sound has gone back to normal.

Unfortunately, the input of special characters (é, ñ, ü, ß) doesn't work. The letters appear as UTF code. However, the letters are displayed correctly in chromium/midori/firefox, and the console. Thus, I blame Qt. This is very annoying e.g. for webmailing and editing text, since typing in languages with special characters such as Spanish and German is practically impossible. Hey, i bought somewhere on the end of internet some board with AllWinner A10 - ARM Cortex A8 processor. Board was cheap (15$) and had info about compatibility with Armbian. Sound good deal for tests. BUT of course cant be so easy It was true, Armbian working but only version 5.24 Jessie for Lime-A10 from previous age. All newest version booting well but without working usb ports. What i figured out its a problem with device tree configuration but Armbian based on Jessie working with fex files, all newest distributions unfortunately with dts files responsible for device tree config and i dont know how to set up device tree in newer versions. After few days fighting i…

  91. New to Armbian... I am working on Armbian 21.08 Bullseye as it is suppose to work on Odroid HC4 and it uses uboot from the mSD card. I downloaded the image from https://redirect.armbian.com/odroidhc4/Bullseye_current I wrote it to SD card with xzcat Armbian_21.08.9_Odroidhc4_bullseye_current_5.10.81.img.xz | dd of=/dev/mmcblk0 status=progress bs=4M Connected the serial console, inserted the mSD card and LAN cable and booted (no HD yet). I am getting a # prompt when I should be getting a login to login as root. So something is not write. Do I have to delete the bootloader as discussed at https://www.armbian.com/odroid-hc4/ …

  92. Does "orangepi3" also support Orange Pi 3 LTS? The board looks different from the Orange Pi 3 on the download page and has a different number of USB ports.

Hi all, I have upgraded an Odroid C2 setup to C4, and encountered some strange issues. The SPI interface of C2 is bit banging, while the C4 offers "real" hardware support for SPI. I use a current kernel (5.10.102) with Bullseye. I use two SPI /CS lines, while one SPI controller takes care of "user" interaction with the LatticeSemi MachXO2 FPGA on the addon board. The other SPI controller is used to reflash the MachXO2 by the SPI. On the C2, everything works fine (while slow, due to bitbanging). On the C4, the same code on Odroid and FPGA fails - but only on the reflashing interface, not the user interface. The user int…

I'm using an Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 trying to setup double spi. By configuring my boot armbianEnv.txt I am able to see two spi devices. verbosity=7 logo=disabled console=both overlay_prefix=sun50i-h5 overlays=analog-codec spi-add-cs1 spi-spidev uart1 uart2 usbhost2 usbhost3 param_spidev_max_freq=12000000 param_spidev_spi_bus=1 param_spidev_spi_cs=1 user_overlays=spi-double-spidev-cs sun50i-h5-spi-cs usbstoragequirks=0x2537:0x1066:u,0x2537:0x1068:u However I only see one chip select working on the physical board. Is there something I need to do to assign with gpio the second chip select will be on? Thanks, Dan

  95. Hey guys... Having a strange issue since a couple of days. We got a couple of new board (10) and all of them are using an eMMC of 64GB. For an unknown reason, some of them are unable to survive after the first update and reboot using the latest armbian 21.08! Either, it's not booting from SPI OR at some point we see strange thing as segfault when trying some program! We try to replace the eMMC but the same eMMC works perfectly in another rockpro64! I also try to install first the old image with kernel 4.4 and it will survive all the time until we upgrade to 5.10 and then it refuse to boot from SPI! EDIT: Did another…

hello guys, how to activate bridge mode between the 2 ethernet ports of R2S (WAN and LAN) which are referred to as eth0 and lan0 respectively, so as both of them have the same ip address. i tried this https://wiki.debian.org/BridgeNetworkConnections#Manual_bridge_setup but when i reach the command which adds interfaces to the bridge (# brctl addif br0 eth0 lan0)then the ssh connection is lost. i noticed something as well, in interfaces file i added eth0 and lan0 and gave each one a different ip. but then it seems as is now i have two IPs but for the same port (WAN), and no ip for lan port!!!

  97. I'm trying to upgrade my kernel. However on the new kernel the boot loader says 'Applying kernel provided DT overlay sun50i-h5-spi-spidev.dtbo'. But there are no spi devices. If I run the old kernel, everything is there. In a bit more detail... 1) Download linux source 5.16.10 2) Copy config from /boot/ directory 3) Make menuconfig 4) turn on real time PREEMPT (something I want to experiment with) 5) build 6) build the modules 7) copy the kernel and modules to the sd card 8) link Image to the new version. reboot The device comes up and networking is working, but I have no /dev/spi …
