What do I need to use a separate monitor for my M4. . . . . keeping in mind, I've used nothing but MS Windows up to this point. Saying that I'm a novice when it comes to Linex, etc. is an understatement. I'm actually having someone else do the initial set for me.

  6. Hi, I run a cubietruck appliance, booting by sd-card->sata (stretch). For availability reasons, I have to build up a spare part machine for quick exchange procedure if hardware/ software will crash. Thus I take a second cubietruck and copy both sd-card and ssd to second ones as a first step. How to tweak the copies to get it up and running? I am not sure about understanding the boot procedure. I assume, I have to change the UUID´s in /boot/armbianEnv.txt and in fstab to the second ssd/sda1. I tried this in the past, but didn´t succeed. Now I want to give it another try. Could someone give advice, if I am right with the UUID issue …

I'm using Debian Buster server image for Cubietruck. Everything works fine except Ethernet. ethtool says the link is up, full duplex 100Mbit. Neither networkmanager nor dhclient are able to obtain IP address from router. Static IP assignment (via /etc/network/interfaces or with "ip addr add/ip route add") succeeds, but router is unreachable for ping ("Destination Host Unreachable"). I've ruled out hardware failure: Inserting the same cable into laptop produc…

  9. Hello all, I have a Novasom M7 Plus board with a Rockchip RK3328 that initially had an SD card with Armbian. I made the necessary hardware connections to connect to a screen via HDMI and then I followed all the necessary steps to perform the BOOT through the eMMc memory but after transferring the rootfs it will not start via EMMC, only with the SD card it is possible to start the system. I have tried a lot of solutions that I am finding in the forums but I still haven't been able to solve the problem. The goal is to start Armbian without having the SD card inserted.

  13. Recently we bought several BananaM2+ boards to integrate them into our future fiscal project We are developing software using Armbian Linux Debian-3.4.113-sun8i with standard core, which was chosen as a stable platform. For now we have a problem with integration. Due to our fiscal laws the board should be placed in the fiscal box with no access from outside. Now we are testing the board “on the table†using typical operations (even without loading it by typical cashiers operations) and the temperature rises very high. As a result the board starts switching off processor’s cores leaving only 1 working. We even still haven’t started testing the board placed into…

I am trying to setup my Odroid-XU4 with Armbian 20.05.2 booting from MMC and no SDCard in slot. It took me a while but finally I found what I needed. Next I've installed OpenMediaVault using armbian-config, that worked well. Within OMV I've tried to setup VLANs which I could define but they didn't work, so I had to take a deeper look into it. I've found that the interface name needed to be reverted back to eth0 since the new naming convention enx<MAC-address without ":"> uses the max available number of characters already: In my case "enx001e06320261" , so if you add a vlan "enx001e06320261.1" the name is to long, it will not start. This could be so…

  30. Edit: Issue is solved, see here. It's an application problem but according to an extensive Google research this does not seem to be a common problem of Samba, so it might be an integration problem with the environment it is running in. The setup: Armbian 19.11.6 (Debian Buster) running the current kernel on a NanoPi M4V2, offering network shares via Samba. Clients are Windows 10 and a BananaPi running Armbian (Debian Buster 4.19.y kernel) as well. The observation: When downloading (large) files from the Samba share to Windows 10, the download speed very often suddenly drops down to zero and stays on that rate (forever). This can be best…

  31. Hi, what options do I have to access the GPIO from Python3 as a non-root user? 34. I'm looking to update my current Armbian File server (orange pi plus). The main reason is to gain USB3 for faster file serving, particularly rsync. I have little need for most of the features available (bluetooth, wifi, gpio, audio, hdmi), just a stable, low-cost, box that has usb3/gigabit ethernet and doesn't need a fan. Appears that armbian-config installs Sonarr as a service, but it doesn't appear to be running after I reboot (http://192.168.1.99:8989 gives error connection refused). Looks like Sonarr relies on mono, but mono has not been installed at /usr/bin/mono. Did I fail to do some required post-armbian-config steps?

  52. I am currently attempting to compile a device tree overlay, in connection with an OPi Zero 2. But my questions here are of rather general nature (with regards to DT compiling), so I posted it here. ------- Goal: Creating a DT overlay to enable certain hardware currently not working on the board: wifi and HDMI output. Alternatively, compiling a "full" .dtb file for the board, replacing the one currently used during boot. For completeness: In the below I experimented starting from the Armbian_22.08.7_Orangepizero2_bullseye_edge_5.19.16.img.xz image, 406585908 bytes. uname -a: "Linux orangepizero2 5.19.16-sunxi64 #22.0…

  54. When using Armbian on my Orange Pi 5b, I can't select 120hz when the resolution is 4k but I can when it's set to 1080p. In other distros like Joshua Riek's Ubuntu and the official Orange Pi 5 Ubuntu release, 120 hz is selectable in 4k and works wonderfully. Is there something I'm missing somewhere? Is there something I can do to manually enable this somewhere? This distro checks all the boxes for me otherwise. Using 120 hz makes a massive difference when streaming games from my desktop to my living room TV using Sunshine/Moonlight.
