Hallo, unfortunately i can't find the current orangepi image (https://www.armbian.com/orangepi/). The links to the images either go nowhere (404 file not found) or point to bananapi images. What is the correct link for the current Ubuntu image for the Orangepi? Thank you very much.

Hi, I'm compiling a kernel (using 5.8.16-sunxi) for an H3 board that has the RTL8189es chip onboard. But the make fails due to a missing include file. It turns out that the makefile for this driver expects a "src" variable to be loaded with the path for the makefile. But I can't find any defining reference to this variable or any mention in the make documentation that it is an internal function. I've managed to fix this by setting src to srctree and the sub-path for this driver. But this seems very clumsy to me. Can somebody explain how "src" is meant to be loaded and why it's not happening for me ? Thanks, Steven

Hi, I have an OrangePi_4b (RK3399), mounted in aluminum case, in which I am going to install armbian. I also have a mini-double fan that I want to attach to the outside of the box, to cool it. The approximate power consumption of this mini fan is 300 mA. According to the orange pi 4b manual, I find these Gpio: PIN1 VCC3V3_SYS PIN2 VCC5V0_SYS PIN4 VCC5V0_SYS The questions (to whoever can answer or has experiences) are: For those pins respectively, what is the maximum consumption per pin, measured in milliamps? Is it feasible to connect the mini-fan to Gpio (V + GND)? If possible I am thinking both 5V (pin2 and pin4) an…

Hi all, I enjoy Armbian overall and appreciate the support that goes into its upkeep. I previously used the ayufan images but found that those were updated less frequently than I desired and I've wanted to run OpenMediaVault 5.x + and Python3.x+ which have major issues with the Debian 9/Stretch and Kernel 4.x and run better on kernel 5.x and newer. After reinstalling Armbian on a new SD card and porting my old system over from that image, everything generally works well, however there have been some slow-downs. I have the NAS-style enclosure case and two 6 TB 3.5" HDDs. I have checked the thermals and the system runs at a around 60 - 68 degrees C. …

  12. Hello everyone, I have a question. It is about SSD memory, which can be connected to the usb3 interface via a converterbox SATA 1,2,3 to the OrangePi3 device. I did not find any helpful information in the hardware recommendations inside the Arbian Forum for OrangePi3 H6 all winner (looser). Before I jump into the cold water like with my RPI 4b+, I am interested in which SATA 1,2,3 adapter to SSD to USB3 works with the OrangePi3 devices. I already know that the NVME slot and memory is not supported. And a usb3 converter with SSD additionally absorbs power. Thanks for Help

CPU usage is going to 100% and it is resulting in errors on the aforementioned CNC controller software due to this. BOARD: Oran…

After installing lm-sensors, I ran sensors-detect as root and no sensors were found. 21. I like(*) to connect to the micro-USB port of my OrangePi Zero (H2+) a USB peripheral device, so the port at the OPi must act as host. I have activated the port in armbian-config. Then, following forum posts such as [1], I switched the dr_mode in the port's device tree section to "host". (Decompile, edit, compile, then placed the resulting .dtb file to /boot/dtb-.../, then rebooted.) Nevertheless, the port does not seem to work as host, at least no device is detected in dmesg when plugging the stick in at the port. Eventually, aim is to activate a hardware component of my board, and I think I have the right option found. Problems are currently with compiling and applying the overlay. From the basics upwards: 1. Is there a way to know which overlay (of the many listed in /boot/dtb/*) is actually used during boot process? For example, I know I have a board with a H2+ soc, but my armbianEnv.txt says "overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3". 50. So...I'm trying to find the linux headers for my Banana Pi M1, so I can install Wireguard on it. But seems there's no sanxi headers? Also...no headers for that kernel whatsoever. The generic ones stop at 4.18 then jump to 5.0. Then there's a bunch of raspi and raspi2 headers, and then the misterious to me linux-headers-edge-sunxi 21.05.6, which I guess won't work on mine. Where should I get headers for my Banana Pi? Also just in case, I'm a bit worried about doing something too drastic, since this little thingy is located in another continent. Thanks!

Good morning, I have made a board where I have put an RTC DS1307 to a Neo core nanopi. From what I have been able to see, the system loads some kind of RTC module called sun6i-rtc. this module "occupies" the / dev / rtc0 so when loading the DS1307 it assigns it / dev / rtc1. Can the sun6i-rtc be disabled in some way? On the other hand, if I do this command. hwclock -w -f /dev/rtc1 --verbose hwclock from util-linux 2.37.154-c2ca2 System Time: 1625751906.401974 Using the rtc interface to the clock. Is there any place where I can find this file for the stock kernel? Or a procedure for generating it myself? Many thanks.

Hello, Here is the end goal of what I am trying to achieve: I am using a rockpro64 and would like to be able to boot from SPI into a rootfs present on an encrypted hdd RAID. I tried building an image with root encryption enabled but apparently, has stated on the wiki, it is possible that no prompt will be shown during the boot process. This is exactly what is happening to me, the boot process halts without showing anyway of entering the passphrase. Is there a way to solve this issue ? Or to reach my goal with a different method ? Many thanks !!

My problem is: After booting cubietruck and installing the updates the USB devices aren't recognized anymore. I'm using standard devices: wired Logitech mouse, wired Cherry keyboard. Updating went smoothly and finished normally. Immediately after it, at the console prompt the keyboard was already dead. I rebooted repeatedly via HW switch because I couldn't log in and keyboard LEDs were also off. My questions: What could I try to fix this? Is any important info missing? Here is an extraction fro…

  56. Hello! I follow instruction "Add names of overlays you want to activate to overlays= line in /boot/armbianEnv.txt" I try to find /boot/armbianEnv.txt but nothing. I see Build tools overview from https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/fcb8b6f195bbb76c83c612c425fdf08cfd48c68b/README.md And nothing about /boot/armbianEnv.txt May be documentation talking about build/config/bootenvrockchip.txt and build/config/zynq.txt and others txt files in build/config/ ? It looks like /boot/armbianEnv.txt is file on microSD after I burn armbian image on it. But reading docs I don't understand nothing about build/config/bootenv/rockchip.txt

  57. Howdy, everyone! My apologies if this answer is available elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. I'm trying to better understand Armbian's policy toward closed-source components. Discussions on closed-components often times get confusing because "component" is overloaded, so I'm separating "components" into several categories: 1. Firmware/microcode that is loaded into hardware but never executed by the operating system itself 2. Drivers that operate in kernel space (often called "binary blobs") 3. Software that runs in user space 4. Firmware for "autonomous subsystems" or "coprocessors" like the Intel Management Engine or ThreadX on the Ra…

Hi, I know at least some distributions don't remove modules of currently running kernels. Even when upgrading kernels and modules. Also, armbian has files like /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove etc, which look like they're meant to accomplish the same (protect selected kernel modules from removal), but have in fact no effect (by default). How can I prevent removal of files on upgrade (specifically, kernel modules)? That is, enable the /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove and related things to have an effect, or set some other option to do something similar. Actually, I would also prefer to keep a few previous kernels and support …

Some time ago, I had to re-install as an upgrade went fatally wrong and now I cannot remember the exact steps to switch from the SD card to the SSD as the root FS. I changed the root= in /boot/boot.cmd and generated the /boot/boot-scr and also changed the /etc/fstab entry but findmnt -n -o SOURCE / still shows "/dev/mmcblk0p1". Hello, the description of Armbian image for Olimex Teres-1 mentiones that it supports HDMI auto-detect. Which i suppose it means basically HDMI support. However, my HDMI display is not detected at all. No message in journalctl/syslog. xrandr finds only one screen. Does it work for owners of Teres? Just to make sure HW-wise all is OK i tested that with the Olimex provided image v1.5 and the HDMI output works just fine. Thanks

Hi, I have a really strange situation, which I don't understand and for so - I need help to solve it. I had 2 rockpi, one with sata hat which plays the nas role and one without sata drives, which is my frontend for home cinema (connected to AVR and beamer). Last few days I had the effect that the frontend froze and after close examination it turned out that all memory was used up. Fortunately, I already had a new rockpi with 1,4Gb memory. I thought I'd just change the eMMC and go on as before. But that was probably a big mistake. The new one did not start at all with the eMMC from the 1.2Gb rockpi. That's why I thought I had to compl…
