I just did a an apt update and then an apt dist-upgrade and now it appears that /dev/spidev2.0 is gone. The /boot/armbianEnv.txt looks fine (untouched) and still has spi2 and spidev2 listed in the overlays. I did see that the dist-upgrade touched the rockchip overlay and I am trying to figure out what changed there. In the meantime, is there a way to get spidev2.0 back? Thanks in advance. 5. My main desktop workstation is, in actuality, a server motherboard (KGPE-D16). I have a need to turn it on remotely from time to time. Apparently it is not capable of Wake on LAN, as that is a feature reserved for some add on server management card (which I don't have and am not going to purchase, as it requires some proprietary software). So I realized I could simply hook up some relay to a microcontroller to pull the power switch low for 200 ms or whatever. Well then I thought, I have a Cubietruck and an ODROID-XU4 (and a ROCKPro64 for that matter) right in the case which should have GPIO available and are already connected to Ethernet, why not use those instead... …

  7. I recently bought an Odroid HC4 to use as NAS. I then installed the latest Armbian (kernel 5.10, so pretty current one) and zfs-dkms (2.0.3-1, from backports - so again should be pretty current). I can now create ZFS pools from my attached HDDs (currently just one - may mirror later). Great... except I want them encrypted and performance is BAD. Like 40 to 70MB/s when copying via Samba (depending on which cypher I create the dataset with, no compression or deduplication) and CPU pegged at 100% bad. I was honestly surprised by this, considering the S905X3 is supposed to have hardware crypto acceleration (and cryptsetup benchmark shows results more in line with …

It worked as expected but not sure why it kept /boot still on SDcard? I do understand that uboot needs to be still on SDcard present, but uboot should be able to find /boot directory also on HDD partition, right? Or is there some compatibility issue, why this approach was decided? My concerns are if sdcard dies, i need to recreate not only uboot but also /boot. JV

Hi, I just updated my armbian current to 5.10.35 and I'm quite excited, as pwm and gpio works as with LE :) Then I tried to mount some nfs-shares from nas. Usually I only have to install nfs-common. I did that on armbian, but when I try to mount a share, I get the error message, that nfs protocol (version) is not supported. The used command work on every other system I have (desktop and rockpi). I just use 'nfs' as filesystem type - no version specified/requested. Is there something special on armbian, to have nfs support enabled?

  23. Hi, I am using Nano Pi Duo2 (Allwinner H3) with latest Armbian OS. My goal is to have all the OS and Data on SD Card Encrypted. It should be secure from hacks. In Developer Guide, LUKS encrypted rootfs needs a key to unlock. In our case we want the device to unlock itself so key has to be stored on the Allwinner H3 securely. Has anybody implemented it on Allwinner H3 ? Is there alternative solution to secure the data on the device.

  35. If you're getting poor/bad audio performance from an audio VST on the N2+, it can sometimes be the context switching between the BIG.little ARM cores. In my case, Pianoteq was giving me a lot of x-runs and wide fluctuations in performance when it switched between the 2x low-performance and 4x high-performance cores. One way to get more stable performance is to assign the application to the 4x high-performance cores like this. taskset -c 2,3,4,5 'Pianoteq 7' On the N2+ the 2x low-performance are numbered 0 and 1. The 4x high-performance cores are 2,3,4,5. 'Pianoteq 7 STAGE' is the name of the application being assigned. This is more useful …

Hallo, I hope the topic hasn't existed before .. I have an Bananpi M2+ as H5 (64bit). Good Images are OrangePi-PC2 or NanoPi K1 Plus. My problem is, no support of emmc. Are there any known compatible images for the Banana Pi M2 + H5 that work? The NanoPi K1 Plus has problems rebooting and recognizing a keyboard. The OranngeP PC2 works fine, but no emmc support. Thanks and Best wishes, Mahdi2006

Much of the information in this subforum is c 2017, and relates to /etc/init.d locations which are now obsolete, etc. Definitive assistance is much appreciated! I'm building clean Armbian-based images, for a number of unsupported desktop configurations on unsupported boards. 64. Hello everyone. I've been struggling with the temperature of my Orange Pi Lite 2. Based on what I saw in the forums, undervolting might fix this issue. I know how to undervolt the CPU by editing script.bin, however, it seems that script.bin is deprecated and now I need to change the device tree. I looked into DTS config in armbian-config, I couldn't find any voltage related parameters. I need to edit something like the dvfs_table in script.bin. 94. Hi!, i got some issue with armbian version 20.11. The problem is similar to https://forum.armbian.com/topic/2076-a20-cubieboard-2/ . I tried to blacklist the ir, too. But it do not fix my problem, because there were changes at the commands to blacklist the ir. But also i am not 100% sure that it is the ir, because the prompt shows me the stacks and pointed at the smbd PID (at the appendix - fotos). (Sorry for the bad foto quality!) I appreciate your help! Thank you ! Armbian version: # PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BOARD=cubietruck BOARD_NAME="Cubietruck" BOARDFAMILY=sun7i BUILD_REPOSITORY_URL=htt…

  95. Hello everyone. I'm using the latest version of armbian for the NanoPi R2S. I noticed that the board has 4 exposed GPIO ports on the board. I'm interested in using the RX1 and TX1 and use it for the UART interface. It seems I cannot use it. It might be disabled by default. Can somebody confirm or not if UART1 is enabled by default and if not what should I do to enable it ? Thanks Guillaume

Hello folks, I have completed my Armbian NTP server based on the wonderful little NanoPi Neo3. However something bothers me a bit, i.e. how much delay or latency is in eth0 (It is a 1Gbs port). By checking the default eth0 settings (ethtool -c eth0) I have the parameters below. In particular rx-usec = 327usec means that when a packet is received, the IRQ to alert the CPU can be delayed up to 327usec. With these settings on the nanopi (NTP server) I get about 1msec delay on the NTP client (Windows PC). By cutting the rx-usecs to 35 usecs I get a delay on the client of about 450usec, so a massive improvement and 30% faster than rpi 4. At the mo…

  100. I was initially overjoyed to find these loads for the Macchiatobin, as they allowed me to install a boatload of software including drivers for a PCIe device. Unfortunately. it appears that the U-Boot version (21.01) does not enumerate the PCIe bus correctly. As a result, I can't test that PCIe device. The relevant failure is: PCIE-0: Link up (Gen2-x2, Bus0) PCI: Failed autoconfig bar 10 PCI: Failed autoconfig bar 14 PCI: Failed autoconfig bar 10 PCI: Failed autoconfig bar 14 pci command output is: => pci 0 Scanning PCI devices on bus 0 BusDevFun VendorId DeviceId Device Class Sub-Class _____…
