  1. Hi, I bought a OrangePi Zero, burned the latest image on a good SD card, and started it. I bought a hat with a video output, but I don't have the right cables yet. So... Hi, I am currently using Armbian on my Pinebook Pro. I am having an issue with the volume up and down keys on Armbian. They are not working; other keys like brightness control seem to work without issues. I have checked the XFCE keyboard application shortcuts and there seem to be two items relevant to volume control: amixer set Master 5%+ amixer set Master 5%- I have checked out other xfce based distros and they don't have these explicit shortcut. Do I need to delete these items to make the volume up/down keys work? I was also asssuming that pulseaudio is the default software for managing volume (not alsamixer). Do I ne…

Since the h5 is 64 bit and the code they speak is quite old, therefore I cannot use it, I wonder if there is any version of ffmpeg that takes advantage of the HW acceleration of the H5 processors. Thank you Max

But trust me I am struggling to add my custom prebuilt apk in to the Android 10 AOSP to include it in my custom ROM. What I have tried so far; 1. It came with a xpt2046 so I loaded the ads7846 driver I compiled from fbtft. No error messages, but also no response to a touch. Probably, if I set a listen to 192.168.x.x in the config file of the sshd (same as the IP set in the wlan0), and a different network on the ethernet, it would work, but as I won't be using ethernet I would rather disable it completly. I tried already ifdown, ifconfig down, ifconfig eth0 down && rmmod -f sunxi_gmac, and some others. 22. I am looking for recommendations, the outstanding group here has knowledge of pretty much every board out there I would think. I have had to abandon my OPI projects today. They are just not stable/usable. A board specific crash at every turn. Comes with a legacy kernel that doesn't even support a working BTRFS. The up to date mainline kernel is also far from working I am told. Ethernet masq causes reboot, out of memory killing processes/servers while there is lots of free ram and swap, SD slot crashes periodically making the system unusable till the storage is removed and is checked/repaired by a working system. So, even working around everything, with a repla…

  23. Hello, Thru various and sundry means, I have acquired this unusual specimen; a ZeroDesktop MiiPC M1140. This was originally intended to be a "family desktop PC" that runs on Android Jelly Bean and was released in 2013. It looks like a TV box had a child with a NUC. The machine runs a Marvell Armada 1500 Plus processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The company, Zerodesktop, ran a Kickstarter campaign to fund producing these - my model is one of the Kickstarter Editions. I know that the Marvell Armada 1500 was used in the Google Chromecast 2, along with a bunch of set top boxes. ZeroDesktop no longer exists as a company, having only produced t…

  24. Hi there, I would like to have a Docker container accessing the GPIO on the Orange Pi Zero. For the time being, I'm using OPi.GPIO as a library to make a LED blink, but will use Java-Periphery and SSD1306 later on. As for now, the LED is blinking, all is fine. Perhaps it would be good to build the kernel with the modules for open source GPUs for Mesa... AMDGPU, XE, and i915.. Currently I'm in this position... I know I could clone the project from GIT, and build my own kernel, but this seems like an obvious next step and I wonder how many other people would …

  30. As listed in the topic, this is my desired and actual partition table setup for a lot of my computers. The U-boot 'partition 0' is typically somewhere in sector 1 till where partition 1 starts and only for SoCs/boards that do not understand any filesystem, like Allwinner and Rockchip based platforms. Also old BIOS PCs actually. It can be MBR or GPT (+hybrid) if more than 4 partitions are needed, for multi-boot, like adding Linux to a new Win11 pre-installed PC. Hey. I'm working on getting a small touch screen working on my OPiZ+2. It's a Waveshare 4.3 with a resistive touchpanel (using HDMI for displaying). I've had some issues getting the touch panel to work, and just wanted to share my findings, and ask whether I have misunderstood something. The waveshare wiki does provide a script for setting up the panel, but I think it's more aimed at a raspberry pi, and it didn't get the touch panel working. I manually added spi-spidev and spi-add-cs1 to to armbianEnv.txt. I also added the parameters: param_spidev_spi_bus=1 param_spidev_spi_cs=1 (took me a bit to figure out that I…

I wonder if I cheated and lightdm is still broken and using gdm3 is simply a cheats way out. Why would lightdm not work would still be interesting investigating. I do not know if this is a bug or something I've done, but I can not get the xfce4 desktop environment running over the RDP and was wondering . . . 1) Does someone know how to diagnose this problem and fix it? ... OR ... 2) How do I rip out the problem software and all other files so I can try an…

Has anyone tried to install PiVPN or EasyRSA on a Rock64? I tried this and had some issues where EasyRSA did not install. No errors were shown on the install or captured in the install log. Took me a while to figure out that EasyRSA was not installed. It even created .opvn files for clients... I finally figured out what happened. Did some research and found a suggestion to manually install some packages BEFORE installing PiVPN. That seems to work, so now I have a working VPN. I just wanted to see if anyone else is having an issue. I will also post on the PiVPN Github site to get their input. Thanks!

If the server is "hot" then the page loads immediately. I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to keep the page loading at its fastest speed. I'm confident that it's not due to the hard drive going into standby.
