I know how to work with GPIO though the /sys interface, but that's not fast enough for my application. Is there a faster interface for working with GPIO on the H3, similar to the fast GPIO on the RPi. I believe fast GPIO on the RPi manipulates GPIO though a memory map interface. Is that possible with the H3. Has anyone done it?

As stated in the documentation https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-usb It appears to be quite simple but my question is, I already have everything installed and running, with the software I need etc. Will this pose an issue or should I re-flash and do it straight away? Thanks!

Hey guys, Coming from high level programming such as Java or C#, I'm quite new to mid-level development. I'm working on a project and I was wondering there are any low cost Linux compatible SoC that are guaranteed to have a long term availability for like 5-7 years or more? I've seen the H3, but since it is manufactured by a chinese company, I'm not sure about the availability of this chip on long term. Thanks

I'm building a multi-zone music streaming setup built around an SBCs running Snapcast/MPD and this MA12070P board (AliExpress link). From the pinout diagrams it looks like the board is the same as the Merus Audio Amp Hat just with a built in USB-C PD supply (why I want to use this board). If it's a clone then it looks like support is in Raspberry Pi OS, but I want to use the Radxa Zero 3W since I can get it at a similar price point with better specs. This is my first embedded project since ~2019 so a bit out of my depth when it comes to device tree overlays. How would I write a DTO to enable audio output to this device?

I have most of my multimedia on samba share in my local home network. In Windows i am able to play videos from this share with directly loaded external subtitles (when available). But from Linux it's not that easy, when open share in file manager (double click). After the last update released on July 6th, 2023 that fixed a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issue (thank you), another issue developed. Hi, First of all: Thank you for all the great work that you're doing, Igor! I really appreciate it. I think about buying a PCDuino3 Nano board and I'd like to install your Debian Jessie Vanilla kernel image on it. However, the current download page states that NAND support is not implemented yet. Can you tell (approximately) how soon it will be supported? Or are there other ways to install the image to the NAND flash? Thank you in advance!

I am using ARMBIAN Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 4.6.3-cubox on SolidRun HummingBoard-i2eX Dual SoC i.MX6 Dual Single Board Computer. I have an USB 3.0 controller attached to the board (via a PCI slot). As far as I know, xhci_hcd has to be compiled for the controller to function properly. In the default installation, xhci_hcd is disabled ( /boot/config-4.6.3-cubox says: "# CONFIG_USB_XHCI_HCD is not set"). Do I have to setup a complete build environment as descried here http://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ or I can just somehow compile the module on the board itself? Where exactly do I get the sources from? Thanks

I powered off my tvbox directy by power cord, and after boot can not enter in Xorg anymore, the screen go to black like successful Xorg start and back to console (each try delay 1s - slow blinking) and repeat this process ininterruptly. Maybe related to lightdm? How to start in console mode to try to fix it? This already happen with two different tv boxes (with buster and now with bullseye).

  94. I'm experimenting with video transcoding but am getting problems when using vdpau to decode and the hw video encoder. Using this https://github.com/stulluk/FFmpeg-Cedrus and https://github.com/uboborov/ffmpeg_h264_H3 software decode & hw encode = 15-20FPS but high CPU usage. it can do 60FPS encoding rate with 960x540 30fps h264 source dropping the compression helps a bit too (-qp 24, default is 30) hw decode & hw encode of 1080 h264 = 1FPS, using 4k h265 as the source gives 1.5 FPS ffmpeg -hwaccel vdpau -i 1080p30.mp4 -c:v cedrus264 -c:a copy -pix_fmt nv12 out.mp4 Is the video engine designed to do transcoding?

  95. Dear all, on my ODROID-HC2 Armbian Bullseye installation there is a script /usr/bin/wireguard-manager and I'm curious what this is about at all. In my opinion only wireguard-tools is "ok" to setup a wireguard VPN configuration but no "wireguard" package or such a script which installs a bunch of stuff and weird things. Unfortunately I was new to wireguard and this was my 1st configuration and setup I did. I discovered the mentioned script and executed "wireguard-manager --help" which against my expectation started an installation of different stuff. I didn't cancel this because I was afraid in ending in half-baked misconfigured states. It did "apt …

  96. I like armbian-debian but don't like that i can only do the checksum for the 'img.xz' and not the actual image. Once i extract the .img from the img.xz, i don't see how i can check the actual .img since there is no checksum for it; even though it is very difficult for malware to get on the .img, it is possible. I realize that if the .img.xz's checksum is good, then the .img image is good. But once I expose the .img to my computer, if there is malware unknowingly present, then the .img could become infected and I have no way to check it. My orangepiplus2e is 32-bit. Thanks

  97. Hello, Im using Orange Pi One with Armbian v6.6 (Ubuntu 24.04 CLI). I want to autologin to armbian and than auto run a python script. I already tried some things, but with no success. I will add screenshots of files what I modified. In the first screenshot in the red rectangle I modified it and changed every RealUserName to root as suggested in this thread: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16788-auto-user-login/ Or it doesnt work with root and I need to use user account? In the second screenshot I just added few lines according to this thread: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/7458-how-to-run-a-python-script-at-startup-on-orange-pi…

  98. Does anyone know what sort of latency there is using mainline hw accelerated video encoding on Allwinner H3(H.264/265)? How about latency of mjpeg(if it is supported)? I'm trying to build a system with lowest possible latency.

  99. i used nand-sata-install to move root from sd to ssd. at the end just after "Finalizing file sync ... Please wait" i got "Error while creating U-Boot loader image with mkimage" at the bottom of the screen. i rebooted and all seems to be working as planned. is this error anything to worry about?

  100. Started by Alberto,

Hello everyone. I have to change drivers code in ./cache/sources/linux-mainline/linux-5.10.y/sound/soc/codecs/ Which is the best way to compile a single sound driver without building all the kernel and without lost modification. I would like to work in my Ubuntu pc build Armbian directory.
