I installed it on a 3D printer and when the system starts, the Wi-Fi connected to the USB slot is not detected. Before that, the network manager installed it. After starting the machine and the OS it does not work, but when connected to a LAN it is detected as a USB device. If you take it out and put it back in after the operating system starts, everything starts working. What is the problem? How to automate?

Hi, In order to secure my BPi-R1 I want to install a firewall on top of armbian. So please, no tipps for complete 'firewall distribution like IPcop, IPfire'. So I thought about, what is necessary to protect 'my cloud', which may be not the first interest for a hacker. My test candidates: Open Edgewize Shorewall ConfigServer Security & Firewall (csf) iptables (do it on your own) I collected some information of their functions, but I don't know what is crucial. Application Layer Filtering Just managing your network by port numbers and ip addresses is no longer sufficient. Hello, I have a cubieboard (first one), and i used it with VGA output, by changing script.bin values. Now i installed armbian with vanilla kernel, and realized that i can't use script.bin anymore (since its using device tree blobs). Does anyone know what do i need to change in dtb file to get a working VGA out ? or is there some kernel parameter to override dtb values ? Thanks PS thanks for the great work Igor!

Or by sequence order: doesn’t matter the name or number of images, if I tape 1 key the first image on the folder will be shown and key 3 for 3th image..... 10. I wanted to share my workaround of setting the proper resolution on both, console and Xorg: Display: Generic 5 inch 800x480 HDMI "Waveshare V2" clone Kernel: mainline Proper/usual way of doing it: 1. Edit uboot/dtb display variable -> does not work currently because only a few resolutions are supported (848x480 is the closest). 2. Add a new mode with "xrandr" and "gtf or cvt" -> but "cvt 800 480 60" does yield a modeline which totally glitches out the display. Possible workaround: 1. Set linux console to 800x480: "sudo fbset -g 800 480 800 480 32" 2. Edit or create something similar to "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/01-a…

I've been working on this for 3 days now. Don't know what I'm missing. I also tried installing lightdm, no change. I could also use the shut down command. Tried everything I could think of there too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hate wasting your bandwidth and time. I'm stuck! I'm done wasting bandwidth and moved to time now. Funny it asks me startx like in (OS name). If I create docker.conf in /etc/syslog-ng/conf.d with: filter f_dockerd {"${.journald._COMM}" eq "dockerd"}; destination d_docker { file("/var/log/docker.log"); }; log { source(s_src); filter(f_dockerd); destination(d_docker); }; Everything is logged go to docker.log, not just docker logs. The journal source is already setup with system() I think as if I try to add a journald source I get the error there can only be one.

I addressed my issue already in the pihole forum and the moderator suggested to ask here since in his opinion it might be an issue with the privacy extension of IPv6. I built Armbian with linux headers (5.4.48) and was able to apt install the gasket-dkms package. (The EdgeTPU requires Google's Gasket and Apex drivers to be built as modules with DKMS, and thus requires the linux headers to be installed at /usr/src). Also, there was no conflicting Gasket or Apex module in the Armbian release prior to install (an issue found by other EdgeTPU systems on other distros). My problem, I believe, has to do with the NanoPC-T4's PCIe. I have tried many different kernels (FriendlyElec's Core/Des…

  31. Hello, I'm looking to replace my x86 micro tower with a SBC, to mainly use it as a NAS and media player. On the hardware side, I would like to have a native SATA port (for the NAS hard disk), HDMI output and H.265 decoding (media player), at least 4GB of RAM (to be somewhat future-proof). Bluetooth is a plus to play some retro games Not sure about the OS storage: SD card, eMMC, an hard disk on another SATA port? At the moment I found two boards: the Radxa Rock 3A (with its DIY SATA over USB cable) and Odroid HC4. Both are supported by Armbian, but maybe there is a more recent board that I didn't find? It looks like there's progress being made by Collabora so eventually mainline support should be good enough but for now I'm looking to use Armbian with the BSP kernel as able to boot into it with both drives being de…

I've installed Armbian bookworm and found that there is no /proc/mdstat file from which to recover the RAID5 array. I've installed mdadm however still no /proc/mdstat from which to recover the RAID array. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to rebuild this array and use it in my bookworm d…

  64. I went into a problem after setting up mariadb / nextcloud installation nativ on my armbian installation odroid n2. per default the logfiles for mariadb (bin files) are logged to /var/log which is only 50 mb because of in memory usage (zram). So after some usage the whole installation stucked because of "out of disk usage" in /var/log. So I stopped nginx, php and mariadb and created a new logfile location in /var/log.mariadb and changed the necessary entries in /etc/mysql/my.conf and started the necessary services again. For now the usage is propper again in /var/log. Maybe this is useful for other people or other had another solution for this. …

When I connect minicom to this port and short the two pins 8 and 10, I wanted to see the characters that are sent. Minicom can be connected (minicom -D /dev/ttyS5). But the characters are not mirrored. Do I need to enable the UART before? How to do this? The orangepi-config program does not exist on the system. The ifb network device is quite useful when doing experiments with tc (trafficx control), and it is absolutely necessary when you want to affect incoming traffic (normal tc netem works only on outgoing packets) Thank you.
