Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I just dug up an old banana pi m2plus (with on board wifi) and flashed the latest Armbian_21.08.1_Bananapim2plus_bullseye_current_5.10.60 on a class 10 samsung evo micro sd. When booting for the first time I had a monitor, keyboard and LAN attached and successfully set up users with the wizard and apt upgrade the system. Now I tried to set up wifi with "nmtui-connect SSID " after this guide: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/ where SSID is the SSID of my network, but I get "No such connection 'SSID' " and I can only confirm. If I open the networkmanager with it looks like …

Hello, has anyone found a way to get a relatively new nodejs running on Armbian Bionic? I can not find one. I always end up with a not supported plattform. I am using a banana Pi M2 plus. I currently have a very old one running, (8.x) and I can not remember how I did that. Thank you for your support!

Hi guys. Igor if you are reading this, I'm Paul H. on the facebook Opi board. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I think something is breaking with the recent builds. I did a standard download install on an opi plus (eos) and got nodm errors when I went to install the desktop. Then on second run it sent me into a menu to select lightdm or nodm, and I've never seen that menu before. That installed some stuff when I selected nodm, but then failed. Subsequent apt-get installs gave me nodm errors. The desktop is not booting at all. So then I decided to move to a cubietruck and did the same thing, except it boots into the desktop and…

---prelude--- Hi! I just installed ARMbian on my AllWinner H3 boards, and works great! (better than DietPi). The only perk was to enable GPIO serial uart ports, edited armbianEnv.txt: overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3 overlays=usbhost2 usbhost3 uart1 uart2 param_uart1_rtscts=1 param_uart2_rtscts=1 Worked. ---Question---- Where can i find a list of possible 'armbianEnv.txt' parameters for AllWinner H3 boards ?¿ ---Thanks--- The best distro for cheap boards. Hello all, I hope this finds everyone well. This is my first post and I’m not sure where to put it so, as per forum instructions, I’m dropping this here. After the last update released on July 6th, 2023 that fixed a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issue (thank you), another issue developed. The calendar displays words and letters in a language that I’m not familiar with. It appears to be beautiful looking symbols, but unfortunately, they are meaningless to me. I have attempted to correct this in every way I know but with no luck. The date and time format will change but the language will not. This hasn’t happened with the previous versions. I’m in th…

I have a Ubuntu Server 18.04 with postfix installed and configure it the same way as I did on my Helios64 running Armbian 21.02.3 Focal. Last week, one of my older drives died in the Helios, but I didn't get an email about this. My Ubuntu Server 18.04 will send me mails as soon as there's an issue in the SMART values from the drive. I didn't had to configure anything to do that apart from postfix. I can send a test mail from both my Ubuntu Server 18.04 and my Helios64 Armbian and receive both. Any idea what the reason is that my Ubuntu Server 18.04 is sending me those emails by default and how I could enable this on my Helios64?

Hello all, I have a Novasom M7 Plus board with a Rockchip RK3328 that initially had an SD card with Armbian. I made the necessary hardware connections to connect to a screen via HDMI and then I followed all the necessary steps to perform the BOOT through the eMMc memory but after transferring the rootfs it will not start via EMMC, only with the SD card it is possible to start the system. I have tried a lot of solutions that I am finding in the forums but I still haven't been able to solve the problem. The goal is to start Armbian without having the SD card inserted.

Hello all, Im new to Armbian and sbc's. I have a OPi Z+2 and NPi Neo Air and they are both being used for the same purpose, will use 2x UART and I2C. I will add software bundles to Debian image for production use. Can anyone tell me if I can use the same Armbian image on both devices ? ie make a single image and then just rely on the Overlay selection on the image to allow our custom software to access correct GPIO automatically for both board types ? Thanks for any advice. Chris

I've spent a day going crazy trying to sort this and am failing. I want to share an NTFS USB hard drive via samba to a windows machine. At the moment I have shared the home directory which works fine but whenever I try to access the NTFS USB drive I get a permission error from the Windows machine. As far as I can glean it's to do with mounting permissions on the NTFS drive but how do I sort this when armbian automounts the drive?

Hi everyone, I just installed Armbian on my OrangePi 5, but I can't get it to recognize the NVMe drive. I've tried the official OrangePi Ubuntu distro, and it detects the NVMe without any issues. However, when using Armbian, it simply doesn't show up. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I would really like to use Armbian, but it seems unable to detect the NVMe on this particular device. Interestingly, I have another OrangePi 5 Pro where I installed Armbian, and it recognizes the NVMe and works perfectly fine — but not on the standard OrangePi 5. Does anyone know how to fix this issue, or can you recommend a good alternative? …

Hi, I just switched from an ancient ubuntu-rockchip install to armbian ubuntu 26.04 with the mainline kernel. I did a bit of an unorthodox installation, I wanted to install on an nvme drive, and instead of using a microSD and then copying the system with armbian-install, since I didn't have a working microsd available I did a "manual" installation, I flashed rkspi_loader.img into the SPI taken from the armbian image and then flashed the armbian img directly to the nvme drive with an usb adapter from my PC. All is good and working fine, but I'm wondering if I'm missing any settings that gets applied during the armbian-install process (are there any?) that …

Hi. I'm try use "wget -q -O - http://upgrade.armbian.com| bash" for Odroid C0, but have error "Unsupported hw"... How can I fix it?

There are updates in the most recent mainline kernel about the Odroid C0/C1/C1+ board: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/log/?h=v4.20&qt=grep&q=odroid The armbian image with the mainline kernel have not been updated. Could you please update it? I would like to use it. You can officially drop the outdated version with the kernel 3.10. The Kernel 3.10 is not supported any more and have ton of security issues that wont get fixed. Only the mainline kernel is interesting and worth upgrading to latest kernel. Thanks

Hi, toying around with Odroid C1 kernel compilation and trying new kernels (both 5.0-rc2 and the mainline amlogic kernel) there are some patches that do no apply correctly. Both general-packaging-4.17-next.patch and general-increasing_DMA_block_memory_allocation_to_2048.patch apply correctly if I remove the part of the patch referring arm64 architecture: is this fine? For sure Odroid C1 is a 32-bit SBC.. does anyone knows why there are references for arm64? If you agree I can create a pull request to remove those lines... Thanks **Bye Piero

Hi there, I have a working armbian jammy on my odroid c2, but I'm unable to get SPI to work. I believe SPI needs to be enabled somewhere additonally. In the "armbian-config" hardware section, there is only an entry for the odroid n2, which does not help/work for me. Are there any other hints somebody can give me to make it work? thanks a…

Hi! I'm running a Odroid C2 as a SAT->IP-Server for some time having two DVBSky S960 attached to the USB-Ports of the Odroid. The Odroid itsself has a nightly of Armbian installed: 5.38.180128 (4.14.15) and runs a self-compiled tvheadend on it. No big problems so far. As you released a stable stretch-image some time ago, i thought: give it a try! So I flashed the image to my 8GB EMMC, installed all updates, built tvheadend on it and installed it. Everything runs like a charm. Until...I try to use the DVBSky S960 on the USB-Port. Hello, i tried to set up a little samba server with armbian on a odroid c2. If i use only the sd card, without any external storage, the system works fine, but if i connect any usb storage to the odroid c2, the system is booting into a bootloop or stops booting If i connect the usb storage after the first bios display, the system boot is fine. I think, the bootloader is trying to boot from the usp storage after detecting this, so is there an option to modify the bootloader, so it is only trying to boot from the pluged in sd card?

Hi everyone! I've just got a new odroid c4 and am trying to hook it up to a small i2c oled display. I've wired it up to the I2C A SCA and SCL pins with 3.3V and GND as needed, and enabled both I2C A and B in armbian-config. However, when I run i2cdetect -y 0 I get the device grid with a 30 in position 30 and nothing else, both with the display hooked up or not, nothing changes. Is there anything obvious I might have missed to get I2C running? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, I am having reboot issues with my Odroid C4 running Armbian 21.08.2 Focal with kernel 5.10.60 on an eMMC card. I run the SBC headless and log in via ssh. When I issue the reboot command it shuts down but does not start up again. Does anyone know how to resolve this? It is kind of annoying to everytime cut of power and then connect the cable again. I also issues the command: nand-sata-install as recommended on the download page but this does not help. Many thanks! regards, Udo

Hey folks, I know I should rather post in the OMV forums, but those are in maintenance until next week, maybe someone here uses OMV on a HCx. I flashed the Armbian minimal image, booted, SSHd into it, ran updates, ran the OMV install script and rebooted. Now I still can SSH into the HC1, but the there is no OMV interface running for the browser. During the OMV installation it complained something about something like openmediavault-flashmedia or something but apart from that finished successfully as far as I can tell. Here's the output in the console windows as far as I can scroll back: Spoiler - directory mask = 0700 - …

Hello, I own two odroid hc1 both run on armbian buster Kernel 4.14.222. With my second one I am experiencing something odd. I tried setting it up as a webserver with docker multiple times, at some point I have to reboot and then it never comes back up (not reachable via ssh). Now after each package install I tried rebooting to see if it comes back up. Below is a list of things I did in armbian after initial boot. - apt update --> reboots fine - apt dist-upgrade --> reboots fine -change hostname --> reboots fine - add docker armhf repository -install armbian to disk --> reboot stuck but with power cycle bo…

Hi I have an Odroid HC1 which has been happily running along for a while now. The OS has been moved onto the SATA drive I used arminian-config to run the updates but the reboot failed. I found this post which may be related but I am not sure. As the OS is on the SATA drive I can't log in to check what is happening with the data drive. I attached a small video to that post to show what is happening with the HC1's lens when I attempt to boot it. I really need to get this server back up as it has my Nextcloud instance on it. Any help appreciated Jon

After upgrading to 5.14.2 I found that 1.5Ghz was missing for the LITTLE cores, what had previously been available with the optimized board settings. dmesg output: [ 0.982387] exynos-chipid 10000000.chipid: cpu0 opp0, freq: 1500 missing [ 0.982499] exynos-chipid 10000000.chipid: cpu4 opp0, freq: 2100 missing I decompiled the DTB file and found no 1.5Ghz section within in the opp-table1.

Always running latest Armbian Buster: Since some months multiple machines with totally different application sets get slow writing to ANY mounted volume after one or more weeks of uptime (the busier the earlier). According to top IOWAIT exceeds user/kernel cpu usage. All applications and networking incl. disk reads run without any problem, until they write to the disk which makes them crawl. Even cp on a small file hangs. Any hint?

I do not have petitboot installed. I ran the Armbian buster with OMV5 for over a year. I decided to make a clean install and booted Armbian bullseye 11. I changed hostname and rebooted (curiously reboot doesn't reboot the hc4, why?). I used armbian-config to install OMV. Installation completed, brought me back to armbian-config and prompted to reboot. I hit reboot (then was forced to power cycle as hc4 won't come back to life after a soft-boot?). Note that I was able to power cycle and get a good boot BEFORE omv installed but not after. At that point Odroid hc4 never comes back online. I've been through this 3 times today. I gave it as…

Hi! installed the recent armbian 25 server image on my Odroid HC4. Used armbian 22 before, but microsd was physically damaged. Unfortunately, the board can't reboot! I already tried to apply this solution, which was prescribed for armbian 24 reboot problems, yet it does not seem to help. Any help is appreciated. Although I do not want to downgrade... what is the last stable (=rebootable) armbian for the Odroid HC4? Does anyone know?

If possible, I would like to shutdown or wake up the Odroid N2 using a GPIO button. I followed the guide here: https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-n2/application_note/gpio/gpio_key_wakeup. The button LED works, but the button does not trigger shutdown or wake up using pin 9 and 11. Has anyone gotten a power button to work on the Odroid N2? Is there a specific Odroid module/software that isn't installed by default in Armbian? Additions to /boot/boot.ini setenv gpiopower "479" setenv bootargs ${bootargs} gpiopower=${gpiopower} After these additions, /proc/cmdline shows "gpiopower=479" as expected. I have an Odroid N2 connected to my TV via HDMI, 1920x1080. This works with the Ubuntu 18.04 Mate OS. In order to not block my TV for hours making it useless to my family, I would like to use my PC monitor instead (DVI/VGA, resolution 1680x1050). There are two entries in the file boot.ini regarding the resolution and interface. Currently it is set to the default (1920x1080, HDMI). Is it required to change both values to 1680x1050 and DVI or is it just sufficient to change the resolution ? Of course, I'll loose the sound. Guys, I've been trying for quite a while to get a custom resolution of 1280x390 to work with my Odroid N2+. Hi all, Using Armbian Focal for a couple of years now and booting from an SSD plugged to USB (used the armbian installer to move to it) and it always worked perfectly but after an apt-update (stupid of me I know) I'm now stuck on a boot loop, it looks like the entire system is fubar'd. I don't mind formatting and reinstalling everything, the problem is that I lost the eMMC to USB converter I had and can't find any in the UK... Attached an image of what I'm seeing. Anything I can do to either salvage or do a fresh new install without the eMMC converter? Can be removed. Did a full format.

If you're getting poor/bad audio performance from an audio VST on the N2+, it can sometimes be the context switching between the BIG.little ARM cores. In my case, Pianoteq was giving me a lot of x-runs and wide fluctuations in performance when it switched between the 2x low-performance and 4x high-performance cores. One way to get more stable performance is to assign the application to the 4x high-performance cores like this. taskset -c 2,3,4,5 'Pianoteq 7' On the N2+ the 2x low-performance are numbered 0 and 1. The 4x high-performance cores are 2,3,4,5. 'Pianoteq 7 STAGE' is the name of the application being assigned. This is more useful …

Hi All, On an Odroid N2+ board, I have tried to install ZFS following different suggestions I found on the web. None of them worked so far. I tried: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/19952-cant-install-kernel-headers-via-armbian-config/ https://forum.armbian.com/topic/18790-odroidhc4-with-5139-meson64-missing-zfs-modules/ https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17337-zfs-just-works-now-on-armbian-2-step-instructions-if-you-are-thick-like-me/ I installed both Armbian 22.05 Bullseye 5.10.110-meson64 first, and then Jammy 5.17. Hi! I just flashed Armbian 24.11.1 Bookworm Minimal / IOT onto my Odroid HC1 SD-Card. The download page states: "For HC1 and HC2 we provide specially optimized config which has to be applied manually. This results in shorter boot time and lower consumption. Edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt and add: board_name=xu4 # or xu3, xu3, hc1" However there is no /boot/armbianEnv.txt. Should I just run the system as is or do I have to modify something to have it run optimally? Should I just create the file and add line? Thx! Björn

So, before some days I've updated some packages - so I can't say which update cause the following described problem: The Odroid boots up and doesn't do a dhcp query - the eth0 interface won't get any IP-Address. 'nmtui' shows (even if I delete every connections and set mine to default) after every reboot a new connection with "eth0" as name and no dchp config and no automatic connect selected. Trying to use armbian-config and set IP to DHCP wont help also, because at the next reboot this "ghost" profile appears again and overwrites the Armbian profile. If I try to activate the Armbian profile (or mine) the "ghost" profile disappears... My /etc/network/inter…

I realize the A10-OlinuXino-Lime has been EOL for Armbian for some time now; however, I am curious if kernel support for GPIO functionality is available on the latest available for Armbian Xenial (kernel 3.4). If it is a mainline kernel this may explain why the GPIOs are not available for use.

Hi, I'm having encountering the above errors, it is persistent with every boot. It occured both on buster and on buster-minimal. Note that specifically the micrel kmod fails verification, but because it shares a signature with many (all?) kmods, I assume it applies for them all. See output of dmesg below. Edit: Wanted to say - I can't tell if these are 2 distinct errors, so I posted both together Thanks [ 0.000000] Booting Linux on physical CPU 0x0 [ 0.000000] Linux version 5.10.21-sunxi (root@hirsute) (arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc (GNU Toolchain for the A-profile Architecture 8.3-2019.03 (arm-rel-8.36)) 8.3.0, GNU ld (GN…

I'm getting some strange behavior with the new image when trying to enable OMV on my T4. Its always installed no problem, but now when I try to do a clean install Im getting the below info. Although after reboot the box is checked in softy to suggest OMV has installed ok, I haven't gone far enough in configuration to see if anything isn't working. Can anyone tell if Im doing something wrong? (I also experienced similar behaviour in Buster but I had no prior working installation's to suggest its a bug or me) --------------------------------- Executing: /tmp/apt-key-gpghome.wBAnSaHxyZ/gpg.1.sh --keyserver hkp://keyserv…

Hi all, I am new to linux and SBC. I have installed armbian on banana-pi M1. I want to setup a NAS and Media server for my home network. I am trying to install Openmediavault using armbian configuration as documented in the article here. But I am unable to see the openmediavault under Softy. Is there anything I am missing here. https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Armbian-Config/#software Any help will be really appreciated.

Grazie mille e buona serata

Hey everybody, unfortunately no one could help me in OMV-forum due to a lack of armbian knowledge. Did all required preparations before running the upgrade script, nevertheless 6 services are broken afterwards, especially ifup/eth0. Apt update, apt upgrade and apt full-upgrade ran without problems before starting upgrade script. My system (set it up years ago with an amrbian-OMV3 image): # cat /etc/armbian-release # PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BOARD=raspberrypi BOARD_NAME="Raspberry Pi" VERSION=5.27 LINUXFAMILY=bcm2837 BRANCH=next ARCH=arm IMAGE_TYPE=experimental # lsb_release -a No LSB modules are av…

I've just downloaded the latest Armbian Buster image with kernel 5. I have installed OMV via the Softy solution as well as manually via https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/25062-Install-OMV5-on-Debian-10-Buster/#codeLine_2_c9c4c4 which has worked previously. After the install the we bserver loads the default Nginx page, however after a reboot nothing works. Any thoughts? I'm about to try kernel 4 The same thing happens on Kernel 4. I'm wondering if there was an OMV update that broke the install...
