I am using ARM Cortex A7 board and had run coovachilli with its internal DHCP server successfully with external and internal splash pages. Now want to run it with external DHCP server that is clients will get IPs from external DHCP server and authenticate via Coovachilli. For example two boxes running coovachilli in it seperately but the client from both boxes will get IP lease from same backend dhcp server while authenticate via its coovachilli respectively. So I have used this config in it: HS_WANIF=eth0 # has address 195.19.214.216 HS_LANIF=eth1 HS_NETWORK=10.2.3.0 HS_NETMASK=255.255.255.0 HS_UAMLISTEN=10.2.3.1 HS_UAMPORT=3990 HS_UAMUIPORT=4990…

Works good without any SD card in a school class 10 PCs RPI. https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/net_tutorial.md Is any such howto for the orange pi prime? Is it possible network booting without a SD card at all?

Hi. I'm trying to display a rtsp stream using vlc, on a tinkerboard, running armbian, legacy desktop version. It runs very choppy. I have a duplicate setup using the Raspberry pi 1, which has much fewer resources, runs smoothly. Anyone got any idea why?

Hi guys, I have an Orange Pi with Armbian running on a 5.4.88-sunxi arm 7l, and I'm trying to connect a CSI gc2035 camera. According to the manual, the gc2035 camera is only supported by Linux 3.4. Is this correct, or is there a workaround? My Orange Pi can't detect the CSI camera—do I need to switch to Linux 3.4?

  6. I am currently facing a challenge with my Orange Pi 5 running Armbian 23.8.1 Jammy. I'm trying to get an exFAT formatted USB drive to work with this setup. I cannot mount an exFAT filesystem, despite having exfat-fuse and exfat-utils installed. The system fails to recognize the exFAT filesystem, displaying the message: "unknown filesystem type 'exfat'". I tried to install this module: https://github.com/arter97/exfat-linux. But I'm getting an error, that states that the driver already should be included on this version of the kernel: root@orangepi5:~/exfat-linux# make make -C /lib/modules/5.10.110-rockchip-rk3588/build M=/root/exfat-linux modules mak…

  7. Hi evereyone, After doing some upgrades my Pi-hole Admin Page was not reachable anymore, while blocking still worked. 1. Problem The lighttpd service was not running because of the missing folder /var/log/lighttpd. So lighttpd crashes when trying to access /var/log/lighttpd/error.log and access.log. Reinstalling Pi-hole and lighttpd didnt solve the problem. So I first created the folder myself: sudo mkdir /var/log/lighttpd sudo chown -R www-data: www-data /var/log/lighttpd Then I reinstalled Pi-hole and lighttpd, now lighttpd was running. Unfortunatly now I ran into 403 - Forbidden when accessing…

Hey. I'm trying to set up a 3.5" spi touch display with my orange pi zero +2 (H5). I've gotten the display to work - console is displaying fine, and the same with Xorg. However, getting the touch panel to work, seems quite difficult. (I tested it on a pi, so I know the hardware works). I've been running through all the threads I could find in here, regarding these setups, but I haven't been able to crack it. I have tried a lot of different variations of using spi-spidev, spi-add-cs1, customized spi-double-spidev, setting the param_spidev_spi_bus etc. I have a suspicion that something is off with the second cs channel, as this seems to be where I get my err…

I know fbtft_device has been dropped as of kernel 5.4 and have been researching into how others have done it. I now know it requires custom overlays, (dts files, etc) and using sudo armbian-add-overlay xxx.dts as well as having a conf defined under /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ (attached). I'm *real, real* close (got the LCD flickering!), but I think I need some guidance with the dts file (attached). I've seen…

  11. Hi all, This used to work absolutely fine for me a couple of years ago but for some reason it isn't working at all now. I had to format the eMMC and re-flash it. Using either Bookworm or Jammy, when I try to run the script for boot from eMMC / system on NVME after the reboot it won't boot again. I've tried on both, tried before / after apt-update etc. Just doesn't seem to want to work when it used to in the past. This is what I'm seeing, apologies for phone photos, as I was in my living room, no way to take a screenshot. Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi all. For gaming on the Raspberry Pi 4 there is nothing better(opinion) than TwisterOS. It is Raspberry Pi OS with a lot preinstalled tools for gaming. Also very nice skins to make your OS look like old Windows versions, or even MacOS. You can play old Windows games with it thanks to Box86 + wine which is preinstalled and configured. Also native x86 Linux games run amazingly well with it. There is a Steam client preinstalled. Is must say I've never used it, since I've never used/liked Steam. Hi, I know at least some distributions don't remove modules of currently running kernels. Even when upgrading kernels and modules. Also, armbian has files like /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove etc, which look like they're meant to accomplish the same (protect selected kernel modules from removal), but have in fact no effect (by default). How can I prevent removal of files on upgrade (specifically, kernel modules)? That is, enable the /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove and related things to have an effect, or set some other option to do something similar. ( I'm not sure if that was the reason) Now I want to kill the AP to set up a new AP with another USB-stick. There seems to be no tool to remove / kill / forget the old setup.. How to do this ?

I think it's because of the DAC's on / off switch. Also, at the beginning of playback, the initial sound is lost for about one second. I did echo -1 > /sys/devices/platform/soc/1c22c00.codec/cdc/pmdown_time The initial and final pulses (clicks) disappeared. But there are still small impulses at the beginning and at the end of the playback. There are also small pulses between file playback. For example: aplay file1.wav file2.wav DAPM? How disable it? …

I have access to all the files. After that I used the command "mdadm --grow /dev/md127 --size=max" to grow the size. 52. In my spi protocol driver I send large buffers of data to be transferred. I am not interested in the data received so I leave the rx_buf as NULL. In the controller driver they have code to implement this use case: https://github.com/allwinner-zh/linux-3.4-sunxi/blob/6964d467510849e3e262518cb87bff7ef92e01f5/drivers/spi/spi-sunxi.c#L1003 However the transfer never completes and the kernel logs a time out for each transfer after 120 seconds. I have tried modifying the driver with various options like disabling the SPI_GC_TP_EN, which pauses transmit when the receive fifo is full, but it has no effect. Finally after hours of futile tinkering I decided to change m…

Check with the resistance setting that the resistance of your probes touching each other is close to 0 ohms. 98. Does anybody have the proven experiance that a NanoPi Neo-LTS is a drop-in replacement (no SW changes) for a NanoPi Neo? And is a NanoPi Neo2 a drop-in replacement for Neo and/or Neo-LTS? From the specs I'd assume it works. Both above scenarios. But maybe there is anybody who really did such a HW-exchange...

Hi, I'm new at this forum and I'm a little more than a newbie about linux for embedded systems. I need quickly to start an application on login of armbian, after the autologin of the user(no root). I don't know how to do. I did it in the past on archlinux using getty on tty1, but on armbian it not work. I put my application on /home/user/.profile. The system start, then I connect with ssh and my application start. It seems start as no logged user. Maybe is my board(nanopi neo) that has not output video and I can see output only with ssh or serial cable. Any advice ? Thanks a lot in advance
