I did make and make install for both of them .I did not find any issues in installing them. I built them on OrangePi itself. I did not pass any crosscompiler prefixes to ./configure command while building them.My doubt is ,are these libraries compiled with armgcc or normal gcc ? I thougt whatever gcc is available on Orangepi is armgcc so I didnot pass any arguments to ./configure while building. make process was simple and passed without any isseus for bot libsodium and opus. But…

hi: I want to use my orange pi to control some network devices which has rs232 console port. so I enable uart1 as 2 pin mode, and buy some rs232-ttl converter board. then I found these rs232-ttl converters is not working under my situation. they do work when I use my PC to control orange pi (so this is RS232 -> TTL). they don't work when I use my orange pi to control rs232 device (so this is TTL-> RS232, not working). it seems there is something difference between RS232->TTL and TTL->RS232. now I wonder if TTL->RS232 possible? or I need enable 4 pin mode and find another kind of converter for the work? thanks a …

  7. Hi there! I am using a H3 board with TV out on a small 3.5" LCD screen (with composite->RGB24 IC). But I have a problem with picture being way too bright/washed out. The LCD luminosity can be modified with LCD-driving IC buttons, when set to lower value the picture gets better but colors are still too bright (even if luminosity is low) I have tested the LCD with raspberry pi and output colors are normal. I was wondering if there is a known reason for this and if it can be fixed? So far I have just found a topic about a raspberry pi HDMI output being too bright (https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=50726) They su…

Hi Igor and everyone else. Id'like to suggest the following: /etc/fstab It´s not necesary to use both noatime and nodiratime, because noatime already implies nodiratime, so you can use only the option "noatime" instead of both. When creating the ext4 filesystem with mkfs.ext4 you can type a label for it with the parameter " -L " so when the users mount their cards on a computer, the desktop will show some name instead "NO NAME". For example: # mkfs.ext4 -O ^has_journal -L Armbian /dev/mmcblk0p1 or... # mkfs.ext4 -O ^has_journal -L Cubox-i /dev/mmcblk0p1 Cheers - Klez

  16. As listed in the topic, this is my desired and actual partition table setup for a lot of my computers. The U-boot 'partition 0' is typically somewhere in sector 1 till where partition 1 starts and only for SoCs/boards that do not understand any filesystem, like Allwinner and Rockchip based platforms. Also old BIOS PCs actually. It can be MBR or GPT (+hybrid) if more than 4 partitions are needed, for multi-boot, like adding Linux to a new Win11 pre-installed PC. The FAT is ESP or just type 0x0c/0x0700. Now I am struggling a bit with the case where a preinstalled ROCK 3A (RK3568, board ordered, not delivered yet) image has FAT mounted in /boot. 19. Hi all, I can't find any documentation (i prob just don't know where to look), so just a quick question: I have a Mi Box S, and i can run Armbian fine on it, it uses "booti ${kernel_addr_r} ${ramdisk_addr_r} ${fdt_addr_r}" to load the kernel images, i'm assuming they are all unsigned. But i would also like to run unsigned app images (openElec/emuElec/etc) which use "bootm <kernel_addr>" but those return an error: aml log : Sig Check 1467 So my question is are you guys doing any "magic" to get it to load, or does "booti" not do a signature check where as "bootm" does? Thanks.

I'm trying to create a microSD card to boot Armbian, but first would be inserted into a Windows laptop to edit some configuration. To make the microSD show up in Windows, the first partition must be a FAT partition, and so Linux would be ext4 partion 2. I suspect I'll need to put the /boot partition on the FAT volume, with directions to load from mmcblk1p2. In case it matters, this is a Rock64 without emmc. I've just started this research, but I'd be grateful for any u-boot-savvy person's help here. Thanks.

Good day! I found some oddities with UART port driver. If I change the speed or the number of bits in the transmission, then everything works fine. But if I try to set the parity it does not sets. Not work modes: "EVEN, SPACE, MARK". Normal works only "NONE". Anyone faced similar problem? Tested under minicom and Java prorgam. The same result. p.s. I mean this modes sets only logical and does not sets physical. The device on other end always reports parity errors.

  54. Hi. I was following a tutorial on how to set up my Orange pi PC. I installed this image: RetrOrangePi_v4.3_Armbian_5.97_Orangepipc_Ubuntu_bionic_dev_5.2.14_desktop.img. So I installed it. Everything ran fine and I can navigate the menus. The device I have is very similar to this one, it's a v1.3: https://imgur.com/FN1sBZF The problem is that, when I try to connect to the device using Filezilla it displays the following message: https://imgur.com/1WZI885 Yes the port I used is 22. Password: "PI" or "pi" I only have one ethernet cable, I plug that into the orange pi and I connect my PC using wifi. I've done this before with my Plays…

I believe it uses armbian (I am really not an expert sorry) and my problem is really not nextcloud related i believe. I had to cut the power to the rock64. Then i rebooted. The system clock is set to some early date (2016-xx-yy). Therefore the unmount is in the future causing an fsck. It fails miserably and drops to initramfs (where i really am lost). I don't think this should happen. I dont have a rtc battery - maybe this wouldnt be an issue if there was one attached? I hope someone can tell me how to progress or how to provide better insight …

I have read some of the discussion regarding the wifi chip on the opi0 and that's not a great chip. The only thing I am trying to do is understand the error and see if there is anything I can do to improve it. 77. I'm running Armbian 20.08.1 (Ubuntu) in NanoPi NEO3, and after running sbc-bench,sh benchmark, the temperature does not revert to the idle temperature for several hours until exactly 4am. The system was idle all that time, until a small CPU usage spike at 4am. That's because it rebooted at that time, maybe due to a short power failure. So what confuses me a lot is why the idle temperature will get back to around 60C only after a reboot. 11 hours of idle time would not do it, but a simple reboot would magically drop the temperature by close to 15C.

  80. Hi, my base problem is syncthing not starting on boot. But in trying to solve that it would be useful to uninstall and reinstall syncthing via armbian-config and hence softy. But armbian-config/softy does not let me uninstall syncthing (or for that matter samba, which I also don't want or need on that machine). Nor does apt: sudo apt-get remove --purge samba reports "Package 'samba' is not installed, so not removed", though armbian-config/softy shows it as installed. Is there a way to uninstall packages installed via armbian-config/softy? Thanks Graham
