I'm using the newest Ubuntu image for my RockPi4C+, and from time to time, I try to login, but it wont allow it. If I reboot, I can login just fine. I tried from 2 devices, both devices could not ssh into the pi. running a cat on /var/log/auth.log doesnt show any attempts at all. After a reboot, I cat the log and can see my login attempts present after the reboot. Its like the sshd service is dying. hi, I've got a strange Bug with apache2 webdav. Everything works. Read Files, Write Files change Names But i cant delete Files. If i move the File into a Folder i can delete it with the Folder. Not related to armbian distribution, just curious. I googled but had no luck to find an answer. For Allwinner SoCs, there is FEL boot tool to download bootloader, kernel and initramfs to ram and to boot the system directly, without writing those stuff onto flash storage and performing a reset; I wonder whether there is a tool to achieve the same function for rockchip SoCs? or we could modify the usbplug and rkdeveloptool to implement the function? or there are any limitations to prevent it? any comments or advices?

Good morning I am using a tinkerboard S on Armbian Stretch. I would like to backup using rsync / rsnapshot to a remote nfs share. For the nfs server I tried an rpi3 on raspbian and on armbian omv4. The setup works, but on the actual job, copying a few GB, I get a kernel panic on the Tinkerboard Client everytime. The same jobs works flawlessly to local attached usb storage on the Tinkerboard. http://ix.io/1wJT Thanks for any input und happy Holidays! Sebastian

Hi I've got both left and right channels working of my analog audio jack. The quality is quite good as long as Master audio isn't set above volume 15 - 20 or so. Toggling DAC or DAC-Reversed in Alsamixer will enable or disable the physical left and right physical speakers of ear buds. However! On both channels, the left and right software signals are mixed. So if I use "aplay stereo-file.wav", I hear left+right mixed through my separate left ear. Listening to my right earbud, same story: I hear left+right audio mixed. Please help, I can't even find any snd_ module flags to mess with. I've no pulseaudio installed on this latest stable server edition of …

Hello everyone. I have a custom board with A20 SoC running Buster kernel version 5. Configured device tree, everything works. My problem is that the board uses I2C4 bus to drive CSI1 camera and that I2C4 bus seems to be reserved for HDMI. i2cdetect -l gives i2c-0, i2c-1, i2c-2, i2c-3 and sunxi-hdmi-i2c adapter. Of course, trying to access sunxi-hdmi-i2c adapter from code (c++) or a tool (v4l2-ctl) results in an error as resource is busy. As I don't use HDMI at all and I2C2 bus is free, my question is how can I set dummy I2C2 bus to be assigned to HDMI or somehow release I2C4 bus so it's accessible by camera driver. Removing or disabling HDMI from…

Hi, I have a question about maximum memory support on Allwinner processors, inc. A20 and A64. In datasheet I see: A20:"Support 2GB address space" A64:"up to 3GB address space" Does these mean the maximum installable memory on them? on the other hand, in official page, written that A64 has 1GB memory support! it is confusing. Thank you

Hello, Recently I installed docker on my armbian and motd got broken. Previously it was printing correctly information about traffic: RX today: 20,72 GiB But after installing docker and playing with some images motd is displaying following error: RX today: Error: Not all requested interfaces found in database or given interfaces aren't unique. The problem is that docker adds new network interfaces that are not initialized in vnstat. I've solved my issue by adding the new docker interfaces in vnstat: vnstat --add -i docker0 vnstat --add -i veth160e0f9 Perhaps /etc/update-motd.d/30-armbian-sysinfo script should somehow detect new interfac…

Hi ! I spent several hours looking for the solution, here and elsewhere, I didn't find. The Radxa wiki speaks about 2 SPI: 1 and 2 The device tree README speaks about 4 SPI: SPI 0 pins (MOSI, MISO, SCK, CS): GPIO3_A5, GPIO3_A4, GPIO3_A6, GPIO3_A7 SPI 1 pins (MOSI, MISO, SCK, CS): GPIO1_A7, GPIO1_B0, GPIO1_B1, GPIO1_B2 SPI 2 pins (MOSI, MISO, SCK, CS): GPIO1_C0, GPIO1_B7, GPIO1_C1, GPIO1_C2 SPI 3 pins (MOSI, MISO, SCK, CS): GPIO2_B2, GPIO2_B1, GPIO2_B3, GPIO2_B4 So, the correspondence seems to be: radxa SPI 1 <=> DT SPI 1 radxa SPI2 <=> DT SPI 3 With the latest kernel (5.10.12-rockchip64, Deb…

I think my level of proficiency with armbian has earned me an "ignore" status here :-) I am trying to configure the serial port on a Banana Pi M2 Zero. I have done it a Raspberry PI and confirmed that all works well. Can anyone help me with he following questions? How do I enable the UART for GPIO 14 & 15 (Pins 8, 10)? How do disable serial console mode (had to do this in raspbian)? How do I disable RTS and CTS using parameters? I will donate $20 as soon as a UART connection is made.

Hi, I have been using Armbian for the Tinker Board S for quite a while and communications with my peripherals using /dev/spidev2.0 had been working fine. I just did a an apt update and then an apt dist-upgrade and now it appears that /dev/spidev2.0 is gone. The /boot/armbianEnv.txt looks fine (untouched) and still has spi2 and spidev2 listed in the overlays. I did see that the dist-upgrade touched the rockchip overlay and I am trying to figure out what changed there. In the meantime, is there a way to get spidev2.0 back? Thanks in advance. PS: Details. broken w/ Armbian Buster with kernel 5.10.34-rockchip #21.05.01 w/ XFCE …

Hi I was trying to setup my RK3328 based A5X Max tv box running armbian ( a fairly recent version 4.4.154 based) as an access point. Yesterday I tried the armbian-config option, and it downloaded/setup things and the access point worked. Because I only need it as an access point sometimes, I went back through armbian-config and turned it off. Today I tried to go through armbian-config and start an access point again, and I see the access point option has disappeared from Networking in armbian-config. !!! Has something changed recently? I might have done a update/upgrade in between. Or does armbian-config just set it up, …

I'm using OrangePi-Lite2 board with image : Armbian_20.08.1_Orangepilite2_buster_current_5.8.5.img Most of the functions that are important, do work well as of now. There are two major issues : 1. I setup my Bluetooth headset from armbian-config and it is paired and connected and I'm able to output a .wav file using aplay etc. However, I can not record anything from the microphone with arecord. No devices are listed for recording. But when I connect a USB microphone to the board, I can record well with arecord. Bluetooth record function is very important for me right now. Appreciate any pointer as how to get it to work. Thanks. …

I recently bought an Odroid HC4 to use as NAS. I then installed the latest Armbian (kernel 5.10, so pretty current one) and zfs-dkms (2.0.3-1, from backports - so again should be pretty current). I can now create ZFS pools from my attached HDDs (currently just one - may mirror later). Great... except I want them encrypted and performance is BAD. Like 40 to 70MB/s when copying via Samba (depending on which cypher I create the dataset with, no compression or deduplication) and CPU pegged at 100% bad. I was honestly surprised by this, considering the S905X3 is supposed to have hardware crypto acceleration (and cryptsetup benchmark shows results more in line with …

I have a couple NanoPi (Neo, Neo 3, R2S, Neo 2 Black) devices and recently I wanted to tinker with trying to get them to be an IP KVM. The hang-up I hit is that I can't get g_hid to work. I am in way over my head but usually my google-fu gets me through. I can't find what I am looking for and it seems that most of the posts on the forum were from 2017 when there was an issue with the kernel that was supposed to be resolved. I am running Armbian 20.08.7 Bionic with Linux 5.8.13-sunxi on a NanoPi Neo (H3) but the error is on all of the devices. Hi folks, I'm new to the Armbian project. I have an old board (pcduino3nano) that I never managed to get working because I found the built in OS to be lacking and the general linksprite environment poor as compared to that of the RaspberryPi. So I put the pcduino away for awhile and never really got anywhere with it, but recently decided to give it a go again. I found two projects that claim to "officially" support this board (either current or past). Armbian and Fedora for Arm. Because Armbian has EOSd the pcduino family of boards I started with the Fedora project and found that it worked but only as a server/cli the GUI no matter which deskto…

Hello, I installed armbian on my board and decided to attach HDD to move rootfs on it. So I used script which you provide nand-sata-install. It worked as expected but not sure why it kept /boot still on SDcard? I will connect all the devices with the same MISO - MOSI - SCLK line. static void transfer(int fd) { //n.SLAVE CS LOW int ret; uint8_t tx[] = { 0xAD, 0x03 }; uint8_t rx[2] = {0, }; struct spi_ioc_transfer tr = { .tx_buf = (unsigned long)tx, .rx_buf = (unsigned long)rx, .len = 2, .delay_usecs = delay, .speed_hz = speed, .bits_per_word = bits, }; ret = ioctl(fd, SPI_IOC_MESSAGE(1), &tr); if (ret < 1) pabort("can't send spi message"); //n.SLAVE CS HIGH puts(""); } Can I do like above? I have downloaded the cli image file and imaged it to a SD card. However, when I attempt to boot, I never get a screen. I tested the board using the NanoPi-R6 image file and do get the initial setup for Armbian. However, it does not recognize USB devices. I realize that the image for NanoPC-T6 is a work-in-progress, but I don't understand why it doesn't boot. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, I know that the cubieboard2 is quite old, but I also got the impression from the forum that there should be a NAND support available somehow. Is there anybody who could give me a hint what I need to do to activate the NAND on the latest armbian-buster image? That would help me a lot .

Hi, I'm using an Odroid C2 with 8 DVB-C/T (6x TechnoTrend TT-TVStick CT2-4400 and 2xTECHNOTREND TT-connect CT2-4650). Those DVB-C are connected via 2x 4 ports USB 3.0 which are connected in USB C2 ports. The problem is that if I'm using 4 or maximum 5 DVB-C, Odroid C2 has a CPU usage about 30-40% from 400%, so pretty low usage. Now the issues are starting: if I'm trying to start another DVB-C or if I'm doing for example something which uses high CPU suddenly Odroid C2 is rebooting. This is the first thing. The second thing is that the DVB_SKY_2 seems to crash when the mumudvb is starting on a DVB device. The third issue is that I can't change …

Sorry if that already has been answered, couldn't find anything via search function: I have a 1920x1200 TFT attached, works well with 1080p but of course everything is a bit stretched. I tried to understand how boot.cmd/scr work, but essentially there are no entries in those files for that resolution. Search for fdt_disp_mode showed up exactly 2 hits on Google So I'm a bit lost. Is it possible at all?

The /sbin/armbian-install script that ships in Armbian_22.08.7_Odroidn2_bullseye_current_5.19.17_minimal.img.xz has a couple of faulty lsblk arguments that cause it to exit instead of allowing the user to select the installation target partition. The script works properly after both instances of the string MOUNTPOINTS are changed to MOUNTPOINT which is easily done with sed -ie s/MOUNTPOINTS/MOUNTPOINT/ /sbin/armbian-install

Hello everyone, my wife has transitioned my family to google calendars and in an effort to keep myself up to date I built a Magic Mirror using an OP PC+. It worked beautifully in testing in standard video layout but to effectively use the screen I have mounted it rotated in a frame and this is where my problems began. Upon rotating the image in XFCE either 90 or 270 degrees video performance drops to single digit FPS. No increase in CPU utilisation so i cannot understand what the issue is. I have done a bit of googling and there is litle information and no apparent solution available. has anyone else suffered with this? …

I don't know how to explain this, so I start with my hardware: Two Odroid HC1. I love swapping Kernels, default was 5.4.199 but that was "too old" because I like it bleeding edge. Did upgrade both to 5.17.5 and it works like a charm! Really good performance and some errors from dmesg disappeared too! However the problems did not wait for long: Kernel 5.19.x broke fstrim commands on my SATA drives so I rolled back, everything was good on 5.17.5 again. My logs showed TRIM was supported and running again, cheers! Now to the actual problem at hand and this might be my own doing. I froze the upgrades in armbian-config. Thinking this would prevent upgrading to the n…

I installed Armbian 23.02.2 aarch64 running kernel 6.1.11-meson64 on Le Potato and the system is running great with xfce4 as the desktop. Hello everybody, is it possible in u-boot (boot.ini) to make a user input and let the user choose from A or B and according to the choice load a particular uInitrd? In case a non-valid answer is given a default answer should be used. Best of all would be if I could implement a time-out. When user does not make input answer B should be selected. I would know how to do this in bash but is that also possible in boot.ini somehow?

Flashing odroidc4 images, each installation gets an identical IP address of '00:50:43:84:fb:2f' as specified in https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/7d758026b57380b17b6337e23b053db01c7e0b3d/config/bootenv/meson.txt This gets especially cumbersome with encrypted rootfs. Is there any way to override this without having to rebuild the image? Ideally the hw MAC address would be used, but being able to configure it through a simple change of the boot parameters after flashing would also work.

Dear members of the forums. I am shopping for a new single board computer, already have a few manufacturers, but I am not sure yet. Couple years ago I bought BPI-M2U from Sinvoip, and I regretted that soon. Sinvoip was not providing good documentation nor open source contributions of drivers. So to avoid the same situation, I'd like to ask which manufacturers are co-share, contribute to open source and don't sell boards with schematic errors? Orange Pi (4) Khadas (Vim3) Friendly Elec (m4) Odroid (N2) Thank you in advance and sorry if this is not the right forum.

Hey there, has someone got bluetooth working on his Banana Pi M2 Berry? I looked up that the bluetooth chip (ap6212) is connected via UART3, so I changed the "ttyS1" to "ttyS3" in /etc/default/ap6212, but the service 'ap6212' crashes with several input/output errors. While reading about similar problems with different boards I discovered that the ttyS3 / UART3 is not enabled on my device, at least "dmesg | grep ttyS3" does not find anything, while "dmesg | grep ttyS0" and "dmesg | grep ttyS1" does show that these devices are enabled. There adding the lines "overlays=uart3" / "param_uart3_rtscts=1" helped them, but these lin…

Hi guys! I've a project with raspberry pi B+ and a usb modem for communication with server. Is a unattended system but I've many problems with communication cuts and memory card corrupted. Communications is not important issue, because isn't a real time system, and I manage the cuts with own scripts. In the other hand, the memory card corruption is a damn headache. I think that problem is caused by the model B+ because I've other similar project with model A+ and I haven't this problem. The reason for my question is that I'm looking for alternatives to the raspberry pi B+. I tested Orange Pi 2G-IOT, but is very unestable and I discard it. What borad…
