Hi all, I can't find any documentation (i prob just don't know where to look), so just a quick question: I have a Mi Box S, and i can run Armbian fine on it, it uses "booti ${kernel_addr_r} ${ramdisk_addr_r} ${fdt_addr_r}" to load the kernel images, i'm assuming they are all unsigned. But i would also like to run unsigned app images (openElec/emuElec/etc) which use "bootm <kernel_addr>" but those return an error: aml log : Sig Check 1467 So my question is are you guys doing any "magic" to get it to load, or does "booti" not do a signature check where as "bootm" does? Thanks.

Current system Armbian Bionic (Ubuntu 18.04) - Orange Pi One I am trying to duplicate a previous system, which I have had operating on Raspberry Pi . I have tested my script on the Orange Pi and after a few tweaks, it works fine (brilliant piece of kit!). I just need to boot to command line / terminal auto sign-in upon boot - automatically run python script within command line (the python script is an input form). Really appreciate any help / suggestions on this. Steve

Hello, I run a clearfogpro, this problem is not board specific, but I would like to use a huawei e3372h-153 USB 4G dongle on this board which has a USB3 port. The current version of armbian is Debian Buster Linux 4.14.135-mvebu. This dongle is in stick mode, as opposed to the hilink mode. In stick mode, when plugging the dongle, two devices appear : /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/cdc-ncm1. With the former I can issue AT commands to the dongle, the latter is the modem itself with the NCM protocol, known to be faster than PPP. There is also an wwan interface appearing with ifconfig -a. However, I do not know…

Hello community, when I SSH into my ODROID-HC2 I get the nice coloured MOTD which I really like. Question 1) I found the configuration file /etc/default/armbian-motd and the directory /etc/update-motd.d and after reading the bash code I lack in understanding why some information lines are suppressed in the MOTD banner when the scripts get executed. For example: I would expect to see some net traffic stats because /etc/default/armbian-motd uses the default setting PRIMARY_DIRECTION="rx" and the package "vnstat" is installed and "vnstat -i eth0" return correct output. I also tried changing PRIMARY_DIRECTION line to ="both" but I don't get any…

After upgrading to Armbian 26.2, I noticed that if I mounted a network drive (samba, cifs) and even accessed it, and then tried to unmount it (sudo umount -t cifs ...), the system would freeze. Upgrading from Debian 12 (bookworm) to Debian 13 (trixie) didn't help. I did a rollback to Armbian 25.x via backup, and this problem doesn't exist there.

Hi Guys, I have noticed that camera connected to OPI, has several frames lag. I capture image with very high speed (50 fps, camera also gives about 50 fps). Min for V4l2 is 4 buffers, so it gives about 80ms of latency. I cant find a way how to decrease this buffer count to 0 to receive the latest frame. I assume that I need to change some line in kernel and compile it. However, I cant find where exaclty.

Hi All I cannot seem to find information specific to the Cuibieboard 2 - only reference to BPI running Ubuntu on SATA? Is this still possible? I have been able to do this on my old Cubieboard 2 but with a very old image. I don't know if this is possible with the latest Ubuntu's? If so, please point me to instructions? I have downloaded Armbian 5.3 onto SD card and got one of my Cubie's to boot fine from SD but would prefer either NAND or via SATA (SSD - preferable). I think the way I was able to do this on my old boards was to have the bootloader run from the NAND and then the SSD would take over from there, but…

Hello I've seen threads about this topic before but can't get around if Armbian for Tinkerboard S is working with the official Raspberry Pi display? I have it working great with TinkerOS, problem is that I'm missing some kernel modules like CAN, CAN-raw and SLCAN which ThinkerOS doesn't ship with. That's why I would like to run Armbian instead. This is the display: https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-touch-display/ Can anyone tell me how to get the display working with Armbian?

Hi, Now that I have my NanoPC-T4 working with hardware 3D acceleration, 1080p video playback, full development environment on NVMe, Think it's time for a backup. Has anyone found a usefull utility ? Or should I just use dd to dump the eMMC partions to image files on a USB attached drive and rsync to backup the NVMe the the same ? I'd imagine to restore just boot from an install image, don't install, just dd the images to their repective eMMC partitions and rysnc to restore. Has anyone had to restore a board and how well did your solution work for you ?

Installing Armbian on Beelink X2 just to play with. Installs but don't know answer to privateuser@beelinkx2:~"$ __________? What's the answer. I had Arm on this a few years ago and removed it. But stuck on install. The line says... The command could not be located because 'usr/sbin' is not included in the PATH environment variable. This is most likely caused by the lack of administrative privileges associated with your user account. ???????

Hello, I have been trying for a few weeks to get this LCD dsiplay (Store Wiki) to work with the NanoPi Neo Air. The display driver required is apparently the ST7789V. Hi everybody, One really simple question: I got to work with wvdial and establish a ppp connection with OPi 2g-IoT but now I would like to initiate the board with the wvdial included, so if the modem 2g does not connect the board keeps trying till the conection goes smoothly. Hi there, Is there a way to make an automatic switch between AV and HDMI when HDMI connector is connected/disconnected? ie By default AV composite signal is ON, if HDMI is detected while booting, then video and sound are output to HDMI instead of AV/L/R output. I read that if both TV out and HDMI are enable at the same time it can result in artifacts on HDMI and for that reason TV was disabled by default. So is there a way to detect if HDMI is plugged in, and if so disable TV out. I would say it needs 2 .bin files with each config, but how to detect if HDMI is present before loading .bin and load the right .bin according to situation? …

Actually this is answer not a question . How to drive things with the OrangePi board with smartphone? This is tested on OrangePiLite board with OS-Armbian 5.65 with node.js installed. First you have to create two files - server.js and index.html(see below) server.js is your nodejs server script file who will handle index…

rk3288.txtHi all, I stumbled across a board which may be of interest for one of my next projects. Here you can find a link to it, it is model JLD076 I have the board already on my desk, and as it is really well equipped with loads of interfaces, I would love to get Armbian working on it. J have attached the boot log from console to the message, it uses Uboot 2017, and seems to be based on a standard Rockchip eval board. Onboard peripherials are handled by the usual suspects: ethernet by RTL8211, WiFi by RTL8732, and some of the display links by ALC6540. eMMC is fixed on the baord, so RKUSB is needed (can be invoked by Uboot command or bu…

Hey, I'm new to armbian/linux and want to use an Orange Pi Zero 2 as a cheap OctoPi alternative. Bare Octoprint is already working, but I don't get the MJPG-Streamer for my usb-webcam to run. I am looking for recommendations, the outstanding group here has knowledge of pretty much every board out there I would think. I have had to abandon my OPI projects today. They are just not stable/usable. A board specific crash at every turn. Comes with a legacy kernel that doesn't even support a working BTRFS. The up to date mainline kernel is also far from working I am told. Ethernet masq causes reboot, out of memory killing processes/servers while there is lots of free ram and swap, SD slot crashes periodically making the system unusable till the storage is removed and is checked/repaired by a working system. So, even working around everything, with a repla…

Hello folks, I have been searching a lot on this topic without finding any solution. I have a bananapi and an edimax ac usb stick. I set it up to be a hotspot a few years back, it was working quite well and I stored an image as backup. Where can I get the correct DTS? Is there any guide on how to do this? I'm not unfamiliar on how to build a custom kernel, but that was on x86/x64. ARM is a very different animal.

im using orange pi with armbian and i try to rotate display by seeting in boot/armbianEvt.txt fbcon=rotate:3 it only rotate the console message. but when i run startx (startx installed via sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends xserver-xorg x11-xserver-utils xinit openbox ) is still default mode not rotated It makes me angry to know that i have achieved it without any difficulty with a RaspberryPi 3 simply by adding display_rotate = X in /boot/config.txt and that there is no way for Armbian.

Armbian Version: Armbian_23.5.1_Orangepi3-lts_jammy_current_6.1.30_gnome_desktop While hosting a Discord bot on my Orange Pi 3 LTS, Armbian sleeps on its own after a certain amount of time. This UI is so unique to me, I've got no clue how to barely do anything other than through the Terminal. Sorry for the simple question, but I can't find answers anywhere. Thank you!

Hi. Some time ago I had problems installing this Wi-Fi dongle on my Orange Pi PC but I got help here and I managed to install it. But now I can not install it on my ORANGE PI ONE doing the same thing with the latest Jammy software for the board. All the kernel headers are installed but when I hit sudo dkms install ./rtl8188fu I receive: Creating symlink /var/lib/dkms/rtl8188fu/1.0/source -> /usr/src/rtl8188fu-1.0 Error! Your kernel headers for kernel 6.1.47-current-sunxi cannot be found. Please install the linux-headers-6.1.47-current-sunxi package or use the --kernelsourcedir option to tell DKMS where it's located. I don't know…

I I'm getting a 502 Bad gateway when I'm trying to run apt update on the http://apt.armbian.com/dists/noble/InRelease repository. I checked the forum and didn't see a server maintenance notice. And the arbianmonitor seems to fail to post the report too. Is there an infrastructure problem?

Hi , I am unable to boot my RK3568 board and cannot get it into MaskROM mode for recovery. The boot process fails with a "Synchronous Abort" in U-Boot SPL during DDR initialization. The device gets stuck in a boot loop. It starts DDR training (`ddrconfig:0`) but fails with a Data Abort exception. Standard methods to enter MaskROM /Loader have not worked. I have attached the full serial log (Boot_log.txt). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Boot_log.txt

Hello, I am trying to copy my system from emmc to sd so i can install my current system on another OP. First problem was that when I am booting from emmc, sd card doesn't show up (fdisk -l). So i gave up on doing it that way and now i am copying to usb flash drive as image so i can re burn to sd and use in second OP I believe the image is going to be the entire 7.3gb of the emmc. Is there an easy way to undo the fs_resize? EG sudo fs_resize -"back to minimal option here" I'm hoping that will make the image smaller. or maybe a dd option? thanks.

Hi All, Does anybody have a solution to the issue with playing video in Armbian that the MPV on-screen controls (i.e. Pause, Stop and the Timeline) isn't visible in the bottom middle of the video frame? Is there any way to get this back? Does it require a re-compile of mpv, or is this behaviour a result of the All winner undocumented blob based hardware acceleration, dumping pixels straight onto the frame buffer, with little one can do about it. Has anybody compiled mpv from scratch and not had this issue? I notice that when playing video, the video paints over the top of everything - including the mouse pointer. Photo attached with red boxes to highlight…

busybox or busybox-static package is needed for update initramfs must run after kernel updates. The busybox-static package is missing on the Tinkerboard and Odroid C2 image (may be others). I filed a bug report here: [busybox or busybox-static is needed for update initramfs · Issue #1124 · armbian/build · GitHub](https://github.com/armbian/build/issues/1124#issuecomment-427852788) Apparently it was not the right place. It got closed immedeatly: > The issue is closed for two reasons: it contains no valuable info and it's in the wrong place. I still consider this to be an important bug, so I leave a trace here.

Soo, few weeks ago, I left the Orange Pi Zero unpowered. Then, now, after I power it on, I quickly ran the 'update' and 'upgrade' commands to upgrade my system... Well, then I ran 'armbianmonitor -m' to check my CPU's temperature and to see if I had installed the cooling fan correctly. Suddenly, I noticed its clock speed is no longer 1200Mhz maximum. I was freaked out then, so I quickly checked the CPU's lowest and highest clock speed using 'cpufreq', and it said that the maximum speed is 1008Mhz (About 1,008ghz), and the minimum speed is 120Mhz (About 0,12ghz). I don't understand why :v I only left it unpowered for a few weeks and now its clock speed just got decreased f…

Doing apt search took just a few seconds before, but since some days, probably after an apt update && apt upgrade, it has become so slow that a search takes many minutes (20+ minutes) instead of seconds. I don't know why, and I don't know how to fix this. Do you know what to do? The slow part of the search is where it says "Full Text Search". It reaches 50% quickly, and then goes slow. If it matters: ODROID-C2, Buster

I started seeing this happen "now and then" a couple of months ago, but over the last month it has gone to "multiple times a day". It's not always the same mirror. Frequently it's the airframes.io mirrors, this morning it was lv.auroradev.org The pattern is usually like this: Err:1 https://armbian.lv.auroradev.org/apt bookworm/main arm64 linux-libc-dev arm64 23.02.2 404 Not Found [IP: 23.186.113.5 443] E: Failed to fetch https://armbian.lv.auroradev.org/apt/pool/main/l/linux-6.1.11-sunxi64/linux-libc-dev_23.02.2_arm64.deb 404 Not Found [IP: 23.186.113.5 443] Is there a place to report these issues to get those mirrors fixed?

Hi, I'm using raspberrypi ili9488 GPIO LCD (Image here) and I was able to make it working with notro's fbtft drivers and it works fine. What I am trying to do now is to control the backlight or just turn it on and off inside my application with a linux command or for example by turning on and off a GPIO pin but I was not successful. Turning on a off the +5v and +3.3v did turn the whole lcd of and when I turned it back on it did not work and I had to restart the system. I managed to control the backlight by using a transistor on the lcd board backlight power pin but it was not so practical as it needed a lot of time and what we do is producing more than 1000 product ea…

Playing with freshly installed/updated armbian, tried to compile "patched" realtek drivers for those weird realtek 81xx things. Bumped error: ./scripts/recordsmcount not found Go to /usr/src/linux-headers-whatever-version-4.x/scripts then, sudo make recordmcount After this even DKMS version installed/build without any issues. Not sure I will survive next kernel update without manual intervention with this "make", but anyway, it worked for me.

The GPIO pins on the Rock64 are very similar to the Raspberry Pi's GPIO, except the Raspberry pi calls pin #19 GPIO 10, pin #21 GPIO 9 and pin #23 GPIO 11. Where as the Rock64's pin #19 is GPIO3_A1, pin #21 GPIO_A2 and pin #23 GPIO3_A0. The Rock64 documentation does say that it is quasi-Raspberry Pi compatible, but it's hard to find anyone who has actually tested this. Here is the GPIO layout of the Rock64, compared to the Pi 3 I'm currently trying to figure out if a display such as THIS can be connected to the Rock64's GPIO pins without any major issues. User documentation for the display can be found HERE on page 2, in the PDF named …

I have several rock64, rpi, and opi boards but only one ftdi232 serial adapter. Since not each board has hdmi output or in some cases it is buggy a serial connection is the only way for me to see what's going on. I'm running Armbian 20.11.3 Buster on the Odroid N2 (kernel 5.9.14-meson64). I wanted information on memory pressure of the system, but I was surprised to see that pressure stall information (PSI) was not at /proc/pressure/memory. I then noticed that the PSI tool is not configured in the Armbian build. Specifically, the /boot/config-5.9.14-meson64 file contains "# CONFIG_PSI is not set" Why is pressure stall information not configured on Armbian? Are there better or other tools to provide this information? I briefly looked at free and /proc/meminfo, but I'm of the opinion that unused RAM is wasted and looking at free memory is not a good indicator if operation…

I loaded a kernel module from the official Linux Github repo, compiled and placed it within /lib/modules/......... Now if I make changes to this kernel module, and recompile it and reboot, the old one still gets called. If I rmmod and modprobe however, the new module gets loaded. The module I'm talking about is qcaspi. This issue doesn't occur on RPi so I'm thinking it could be an Armbian issue or an oversight by me. Any help please?

Hi guys, I stumbled upon an issue and I really hope someone can provide me with some insights. TL;DR: On my NanoPi M4 with Kernel 5.10.43 the upload bandwith is limited to about 70 % of the available bandwidth. Dear all, on my ODROID-HC2 Armbian Bullseye installation there is a script /usr/bin/wireguard-manager and I'm curious what this is about at all. In my opinion only wireguard-tools is "ok" to setup a wireguard VPN configuration but no "wireguard" package or such a script which installs a bunch of stuff and weird things. Unfortunately I was new to wireguard and this was my 1st configuration and setup I did. I discovered the mentioned script and executed "wireguard-manager --help" which against my expectation started an installation of different stuff. I didn't cancel this because I was afraid in ending in half-baked misconfigured states. It did "apt …
