I just got a working version of the mcp251x.dts overlay running an the Allwinner H3, and ran into a few issues along the way. 2. Hello, Thru various and sundry means, I have acquired this unusual specimen; a ZeroDesktop MiiPC M1140. This was originally intended to be a "family desktop PC" that runs on Android Jelly Bean and was released in 2013. It looks like a TV box had a child with a NUC. The machine runs a Marvell Armada 1500 Plus processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The company, Zerodesktop, ran a Kickstarter campaign to fund producing these - my model is one of the Kickstarter Editions. I know that the Marvell Armada 1500 was used in the Google Chromecast 2, along with a bunch of set top boxes. ZeroDesktop no longer exists as a company, having only produced t…

  5. Hi guy's, trying to get my hdmi screen to work on some board (not really relevant but board is orangepi on and lcd is "7inch hdmi lcd (c), usb capacitive touch screen, 1024x600, rev 2.1" - the box it came in states brand is "waveshare") with armbian and I'm having issues. I don't care too much of getting screen to work "ideally", having txt console working is all I need. When I turn the board on I see everything properly, background is, as expected black, letters are white + some colors, it starts the booting process, looks for mmc controller, ethernet etc etc.. then it finds the kernel and start loading it and then - puf, the screen is gone... depending on what h3disp op…

  6. Hello everyone, my wife has transitioned my family to google calendars and in an effort to keep myself up to date I built a Magic Mirror using an OP PC+. It worked beautifully in testing in standard video layout but to effectively use the screen I have mounted it rotated in a frame and this is where my problems began. Upon rotating the image in XFCE either 90 or 270 degrees video performance drops to single digit FPS. No increase in CPU utilisation so i cannot understand what the issue is. I have done a bit of googling and there is litle information and no apparent solution available. has anyone else suffered with this? …

  9. Started by Gerald,

I am trying to setup my Odroid-XU4 with Armbian 20.05.2 booting from MMC and no SDCard in slot. It took me a while but finally I found what I needed. Next I've installed OpenMediaVault using armbian-config, that worked well. Within OMV I've tried to setup VLANs which I could define but they didn't work, so I had to take a deeper look into it. I've found that the interface name needed to be reverted back to eth0 since the new naming convention enx<MAC-address without ":"> uses the max available number of characters already: In my case "enx001e06320261" , so if you add a vlan "enx001e06320261.1" the name is to long, it will not start. This could be so…

I recently took delivery of a Voltastream Zero, a just-released evaluation board which uses an i.MX6ULL processor. The support forum for that board isn't even up yet. Their main board image has neither the PPP kernel modules nor a C compiler, at least one of which I need in order to use the board for anything. How easy would it be to get a rudimentary Armbian image running on this board? I've had some luck with Armbian on my other boards and would like to see it on this one too. It doesn't have any video output or Ethernet, I just need the very basics.

I'm looking to potentially set up a dedicated VPN server probably using an Olimex Olinuxino A20 Lime 2. The main thing I was somewhat confused about is how to connect to my router and how to ensure that traffic is routed through the VPN server? Presumably to connect to my router I would just use an Ethernet cable. But how then would I ensure that all traffic goes through the VPN? The vast majority of SBC that I have seen only have 1 Ethernet port so connecting devices physically is a no go. I assume I might need to use some form of port forwarding?

Good day! I have made modifications to the kernel driver for the temperature sensor Dallas ds18b20 on w1 bus. Slightly corrected timings, have achieved stable operation of sensors with parasitic power, and also added the option of changing the resolution. Now you can easily set 9,10,11 or 12bit resolution, by a simple command "echo 9..12 > /sys/bus/w1/devices/28-xxxxxxx/w1-resolution". Accordingly, when you lower the resolution significantly decreased the response time of the sensor from 1100ms (whith 12bit) down to 125ms (with 9bit). My question is can I post here the modified source code of the driver, or it will violate any rights? w1 folder, after mo…

Since some H2 and H3's run hotter than some people would like, and people are measuring voltages etc I thought I'd make the following warnings for your benefit in the hope that we collect quality data and solve all challenges quickly. Measuring voltage accurately Your DMM (digital multimeter) may lie to you. Measure the input voltage as well as the test voltages before posting voltage readings. Check with the resistance setting that the resistance of your probes touching each other is close to 0 ohms. I own many DMM's and one of them reports horribly inaccurate voltages when the 9v battery is near or less than 8v. If your DMM sucks, buy a better one (link at botto…

Official docs mention NVMe support but are light on details. I'm curious if this could handle a low-end GPU like an RX 570 (or even lower) through an NVMe-to-PCIe adapter/riser—thinking for light gaming or compute tasks. Has anyone tried eGPU setups on this board or similar ARM SBCs? What about power delivery, drivers, and performance? Running Linux (Ubuntu/Debian probably). Thanks for any insights or benchmarks!

I've had pretty good experience with Armbian so far and I would like to make sure I can continue using it with the new board. I didn't find a specific image for BTT Pi v1.2, but I did find a "Desktop > ARM64" entry. I'm confused on what should I use and whether it's supported at all. Can someone clarify that for me? Скрытый текст Changed the post tag to the closest one to this board, since it doesn't allow posting without a tag, and I misunderstood what "unmatched" tag meant

  49. Hi, I am trying to optimize torrent download speeds on SBC. and I have the RPI4-2GB board. I get somewhat similar results for the Odroid HC1. I only download 1 torrent at a time, and I dont upload. So very simple requirements. On a 1000/1000Mbit connection. Samsung 4TB 870QVO HDD - UAS enabled and tested with good controller. Same file downloaded multiple times. So the external factors such as the ISP or the Storage is for sure NOT the bottleneck here. Transmission - 21MB/s ~ 168Mbit/s qBittorrent - 34,8MB/s ~ 278,4 Mbit/s ruTorrent - 29,3MB/s ~ 234,4 Mbit/s Laptop - 118,7MB/s ~ 950 Mbit/s I have identified that transmission bottlen…

Usually, when I configure SBC devices (in particular headless as the OPI Zero), what I do is to disable NetworkManager (even uninstalling it) and to provide a basic standard configuration on /etc/network/interfaces. However, I am noticing that the NetworkManager it is becoming more and more interleaved on the standard Linux configuration (as it is happening with systemd). In fact, my thought is that NetworkManager it is more a desktop thing than a server one. My question is: What is the right method to configure static servers, having unmovable IP addresses, routes and these types of things, with current and future Armbian releases? If it is nec…

  60. QUESTION: I downloaded the BUSTER image (19.11.6 / 5.4.8) .img. In my .GNUPG directory, there is only an empty 'private keys' directory. Is this supposed to be like this or should there be 2 'text' documents next to the 'private keys' directory? One of my former buster downloads from a year ago or so, I know there were 2 simple text documents in the .gnupg directory. I am trying to learn how to send an encrypted message using gpg, but haven't been successful, yet. I was thinking that maybe there is a problem with my .gnupg directory and this is why I'm running into a snag with it. Thank you.

  75. So...I'm trying to find the linux headers for my Banana Pi M1, so I can install Wireguard on it. But seems there's no sanxi headers? Also...no headers for that kernel whatsoever. Where should I get headers for my Banana Pi? Also just in case, I'm a bit worried about doing something too drastic, since this little thingy is located in another continent. Thanks!
