  1. Regardless of whether I use the main or v25.08 branch, set REGIONAL_IMAGE to china or not, or switch between noble and trixie base images, I consistently encounter a 403 Forbidden error right after the customization step. I've tried various configurations, but the issue persists. Any help?🤔

New here, first of all congrats for the good work. I am using Armbian (Debian vanilla) on a Bpi R1 with iperf throughput of 860 MBit. Not bad.... My question: do you plan to upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 as Freedombox (deb available on Launchpad for 16.04) needs several packages from 16.04. I tried a partial upgrade with Debian to testing, however the R1 did not boot after the upgrade.

Hello, I'm building a device driver which controls gpio pins. When I developed one in the kernel 3.x, I could get the proper gpio pin number from script.fex(converted from script.bin in /boot/bin/ folder) For example, if the pin I'm using is PB03, I was able to use 3 to control that pin in device driver program. gpio_pin_1 = port:PH10<1><default><default><0> gpio_pin_2 = port:PH20<1><default><default><0> gpio_pin_3 = port:PB03<0><default><default><default> However, from kernel 4.x, script.bin file is not used anymore. Instead of this, there is a dtb file, but I have no idea where I can…

  6. ROCK64 is a RK3328 Quad-Core ARM Cortex A53 board with up to 4 GB of RAM. Unfortunately it has a non-functional RTC (/dev/rtc0), which is not battery backed. If your board is not connected to internet 7/24, you can not use the NTP or systemd-timesyncd. Therefore you need to connect a battery-backed external RTC module to the ROCK64 header, and get the time via the i2c protocol. The good news is, the GPIO headers on ROCK64 is compatible with Raspberry Pi headers. Therefore almost any Raspberry Pi RTC module will work on ROCK64. But you need to do some tweaking to communicate with the RTC module. I will explain the required steps which worked for me. 1. Buy an e…

  8. Since volatile journald logging is done in-memory in /run/log/journal, and made persistent in /var/log.hdd/journal, the rsync of /var/log/journal in nand-sata-install no longer works because it is a symlink to /var/log.hdd/journal in the live system, and will create a circular symlink when booting from NAND. On the target image /var/log is the folder that is directory-mounted to /var/log.hdd during boot. I propose to exclude /var/log from the rsync, and rsync /var/log.hdd to /var/log on the target image. Another solution could be to exclude only /var/log/journal from the rsync, and create an empty /var/log/journal in the target image. Kind reg…

For the past months, I have had issues with the error Illegal instruction for my Odroid N2 server. I did a clean install earlier today (Armbian_23.02.2_Odroidn2_jammy_current_6.1.11) without success. Igor, to add some applications ( for example, https://github.com/Freescale/gstreamer-imx), it would be nice to have the possibility, to enter at some point into the chroot, and compiling software, and installing it. Or, add a "just mount exisiting image" function to your scripts. For example, base image is finished, and then I can use a function, that unpack, mount, the existing image, and allow "the costumer" to enter into chroot. What do you think? Peter

Hi, I have a OPi lite board and the U-boot model name shows Orange Pi One. Reason: It's patched as a "one" in u-boot-99-add-missing-boards.patch. I copied this file to the userpatches/u-boot/u-boot-dev directory and made some changes so it refered to the sun8i-h3-orangepi-lite.dts I created. (According to the user provided patches section) This didn't do the trick because it didn't override the original patch. No change and the patching log shows that the original patch is applied. So obviously I did something wrong but I have no idea what. What I would like to achive is that I can control the green led on my board. (Pin PL10, signal name PWR-LED, signal name LED1 an…

I downloaded the latest opi5 gnome desktop image and looped it and parted shows it is in GPT. 24. Currently all of the Armbian kernel defconfigs include the actual build configuration statically as part of the kernel. The standard Armbian build process also includes a copy of the .config file in /boot/config-<version>-<platform>. Are both required, or should the kernel configurations be updated to make Kernel .config support an LKM instead of static bind? True this is a minor item. The actual kernel configuration takes up a very small amount of memory, though on many SBCs with limited memory to start with every byte not used by the kernel can help. This would amount to changing from: CONFIG_IKCONFIG=y to: CO…

But when I run h3disp in order to allow DVI monitor connection (-d), after the restart I still get no output to DVI monitor, while remote Putty connection works. I understand that this is version-in-development, but is there any way to fix (workaround) the problem?

With kernel 3.x, there was no problem, but in the kernel 4.x the touch did not work. I was searching about the structure of usb port, and found out that to use micro usb as a host mode, the forth pin(sense) and the fifth pin(GND) should be connected. 59. Just a minor problem: uptime from procps-nf 3.3.15 (Armbian buster) - as used in 30-armbian-sysinfo to get uptime/logged-in users/load - generates different outputs if the uptime is either less or more than 1 day or less than 1 hour ("hh:mm" or "d days, hh:mm" or "nn min") - this gets the 30-armbian-sysinfo confused on gathering the logged-in user count resp. load. I'm not aware of anything that ifupdown can do that NM cannot and ifupdown doesn't have a TUI/GUI like NM so as far as I'm concerned ifupdown is just clutter that causes config clashes and boot delays. 96. It's been decades since I did application development but I want to get started again. I see that Ubuntu IDE SDK is included in the 'software boutique' but when I install it there are numerous errors when trying to configure. Do you guys have a preferred IDE for application dev on Armbian and do you have any tutorial how to build it? The Ubuntu IDE SDK looks good but so do several other IDEs that include GUI designers such as QDevelop. Before I go down a long path I'd rather try what you kids are already successfully using. I know, most guys use Vi(m) and command line, but I want to give the IDE style of development a go. This is a ver…

It uses a CRAZY cheap module, becomes a serial to wifi bridge, outputs on the module can then be connected to a standard serial tx/rx, 5v/gnd, and not only does it have a webgui, but also a web console https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link The esp-link firmware connects a micro-controller to the internet using an ESP8266 Wifi module. It implements a number of features: transparent bridge between Wifi and serial, useful for debugging or inputting into a uC flash-programming attached Arduino/AVR microcontrollers and LPC800-series and other ARM microcontrollers via Wifi built-in stk500v1 p…

Since update to 5.5.0 kernel (-rc2) my Orange PI often freezed after uptime of several hours up to 3 days (usually less than 24 hours). Since downgrade to 5.4.10 it seems to be stable again (1 day for now, so I still keep my fingers crossed). (Before upgrade to 5.5. it was up for several weeks - and I don't remember any unplanned reboot). Unfortunately I have no logs (it logs to ram), but in one case if was connected via ssh and had "htop" running - it showed nothing special at freeze time (CPU temperature around 50°C, no high load (around 0,5 load avg, only one CPU cure with a CPU % > 50% (still < 80%)). When I noticed the frozen system, I n…
