Based on post "http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/120-f2fs-for-rootfs/" Can be added an optional choice to build image with F2FS root? Ext4 filesystem is crap for microSD/SD card and should not be used with expected large writes for example when you are running a mysql database. or tkaiser could you please post your modified compile.sh script for this purpose?

Hi all, I'm trying to get Debian on an A20 TV box. Now I've successfully got debian up and running, but only one of the two usb ports is working. Hi! I'm testing the image for cubieboard (A10 SOC) onto my MK 802 II and the legacy kernel is working fine (USB, OGT, WIFI, HDMI...) I just have changed the script.bin I'm reading some documentation about the device trees and I don't understand how you compile the vanilla kernel. Sorry if is a stupid questions but my board has his own .dts (sun4i-a10-mk802ii.dts), how you get a common vanilla kernel valid for all the configurations without using one specific .dts for each board? Probably I'm missing something very basic for ARM kernels, but this is my 1º aproach.

Hello, When patching or generally compiling, "dialog" is not my friend for reading & testing I would propose adding a wrapper in common.sh (as in branch "second") dialog_wrapper () { ARGS=$(getopt -o b:p: -l "backtitle:,progressbox:" -n "$0" -- "$@"); if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then exit 1; fi eval set -- "$ARGS"; unset cmdl while true; do case "$1" in -b|--backtitle) shift; if [ -n "$1" ]; then cmdl="$cmdl --backtitle '$1'"; shift; fi ;; -p|--progressbox) shift; if [ -n "$1" ]…

Hi guys, I am trying to get latest kernel on my cubietruck because from some reason I still have kernel + headers version 3.4.109 even I did "apt-get update -y && apt-get upgrade -y" or tried "apt-get dist-upgrade" My setup is boot on nand and root on /dev/sda1 on debian Jessie. Hi guys, I am running bananapi and cubietruck boards and these board are axp209 power management unit equipped (tech details about this unit: http://linux-sunxi.org/AXP209).One advantage of this unit is showing informations about actual voltage and current of power source because as you know we are surrounded with many bad cheap power sources and microusb cables and monitoring of these informations can help explain corrupted data on microsd cards or random reboots. It show informations about battery status and usb voltage and current as well if battery is connected. Hello Igor(?), Armbian Buddies, I have ended being not able to compile a kernel module (and it breaks dkms btw) because files in linux-headers are ELF x86-64 (not ELF ARM) but it is quick & dirty FIXED :-) (Maybe I have messed Armbian tool playing with v4.3 kernel ???) root@bpi:~/kern4.3_4# dpkg -i linux-headers-next-sunxi_4.6_armhf.deb Unpacking linux-headers-next-sunxi (4.6) over (4.6) ... Hi Igor, Hi Buddies, with the new changes of *.sh files because of "2>&1" you cannot figure out the compilation errors -- or if any staling questions like patching file tools/include/tools/be_byteshift.h patching file tools/include/tools/le_byteshift.h dpkg-deb: building package `linux-firmware-image-next-sunxi' in `../linux-firmware-image-next-sunxi_4.6_armhf.deb'. gzip: ./debian/dtbtmp/usr/share/doc/linux-dtb-next-sunxi/changelog.Debian.gz already exists; do you wish to overwrite (y or n)? so I have tried and would suggest the following changes in common.sh (or anything better for bash conditional piping) #make $CTHREADS ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE="$CCACHE a…

Igor, to add some applications ( for example, https://github.com/Freescale/gstreamer-imx), it would be nice to have the possibility, to enter at some point into the chroot, and compiling software, and installing it. Or, add a "just mount exisiting image" function to your scripts. For example, base image is finished, and then I can use a function, that unpack, mount, the existing image, and allow "the costumer" to enter into chroot. What do you think? Peter

FYI I've found a problem with the nand-sata-install script after building a 4.6 version for my pcduino, nand-part does not exist in /usr/sbin. Did a full, default compile. Seems the command its in the PATH but if i try to run nand-part i get "/usr/sbin/nand-part now found" lf I go manually in there and do a "ls " its there, but even if im in the folder and do ./nand-part same error appears. The error that I'm getting from nand-sata-install is not enough space on nand2, because nand-part is not able to run and aprtition the disk its trying to copy all root to 16MB(old partitioning from stock linksprite image). To make it work for myself i manually compiled nand…

FYI - seeing the following error on completion of a build... I suspect it's transient since it just seems to be verifying the image... "Re-reading the partition table failed.: Invalid argument" Image build seems to otherwise complete successfully. Haven't tested the image yet. A small patch addressing some power monitoring related issues: 1. The script was always writing to the "REG 82H: ADC Enable 1" register (on each login). 2. The value being written (0xC3, raising bit 6) was overwriting the old one, wiping out other bits that may have been enabled. On my cubietruck for instance it defaults to 0xFF, not 0x83, so that "i2cset" call was effectively disabling/zeroing the /sys/class/power_supply/ac/current_now thing that I use for calculating and graphing the power usage in munin. 3. Raising that flag (bit 6, Battery current ADC enable) seems irrelevant to the bash.bashrc.custom script, as it doesn't appear to read that curren…

I am working with a Hummingboard that has the 3.14.14-cubox-I kernel on it (was given to me with that version on it). I need to add a module (specifically g_hid.ko HID Gadget Module) which was not initially activated in the kernel build. I’ve tried making the module from the git repository (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib) and succeeded in building it, but it does not work on my hummingboard as a the module has vermagic of 3.14.14+ while my hummingboard has 3.14.14-cubox-i. I know I could just flash this new kernel onto my device, but I have some customization in place all ready so I would like to avoid that. So I am looking for help as to how I can get source c…

I created a Wheezy and Jessie image. Whenever I try extracting the Jessie image, I get a CRC error. I am using 7zip. I tried extracting the zip also using Windows Explorer (Win10) and it also runs into an error. It seems like there might be an issue with the Jessie images being created. I cleaned my output folder and created a new clean image and still run into the same problem. This is using the latest libs and creating a 4.2.3 image (the default settings in the lib config). FYI, the Wheezy image extracts without any problems. Any ideas why the Jessie image is corrupt? Thanks.

Hi, Igor, it is a wonderful thing you got going on here I would to add applications to the image by either installing them as anyone would (apt-get install ...) or by compiling source code for the desired applications. What would be the approach to do so? I tried reading the messages on the forum and the documentation but could not find a way to do so. Example: Mono (can either be added with apt-get or compiled. Dear Igor, I'am trying to make an image with 3.19 kernel now for a while, but I couldn't make it work. It won't boot. A few weeks ago there was some problems with the patchings, so I tried to do it manually. But it lead me to the same result. Now the patching errors disappeared, but I still get the same result, a non booting image. The error says, that "File not found /boot/.next" then "File not found /boot/zImage", "Unrecognized filesystem type", "Bad Linux ARM zImage magic!", ..... Picture from it here. I tried whe…

Greetings, everyone I decided to try armbian for my recently acquired cubox-i4pro. Unfortunately it was missing some kernel modules that I require. No problem, it is easy enough to change the kernel configuration and recompile! Debian Jessie (main system) is even listed as a working development environment, so I thought I would test the included compile script using the instructions from the github. I had recently completed some cross-compilation (for armel, not armhf), so I manually updated the dependencies and read through instructions and looked through the script before getting started. First I compiled the kernel only with the following settings: KERNEL…

I get a lot of prompts and I said m for modular or Y for yes to each of them. The tuner still isn't showing up in Tvheadend. I can donate some BTC so you have a test unit to help get this working.

I am going to use your Banana Pi image for my media server image release. I would like to know how to re-enable the regenerate ssh keys and resize the SD card on first boot (I want the password to stay the same).
