I have a problem with my wireguard implementation. When connected through it I get lag spikes every few seconds. What might be the cause and solution to this? It is not the internet connection/cable/etc because a raspberry pi running wireguard works fine on the same exact cable, port etc.

I made an application with opengles which works correctly in armbian xenial 3.4.113, I always have 40 or 50 fps, also if I run the es2gears program it gives me a constant 300 fps, I wanted to change to a more current kernel and download armbian buster, but here my program runs at 5 or 6 fps, and es2gears does not exceed 30 fps. I was reading the posts on the subject in the forums and I found that installing the lima driver activated 3d acceleration, but I could not make it work. Some information that can help me activate 3d acceleration with kernel 5.8 I am using an orange pi one thanks: D

Orange Pi Zero 512 MB has a serious wifi problem. After i connect the wifi network, i loose connection and i can't access my zero until i connect with ethernet cable. Interestingly, after i connect ethernet cable, wifi reconnects. i set up my wifi connection with nmtui. Auto connect enabled. I really need to solve this wifi issue. In my thinking there two options, which one is better i don't know. 1 st option: I have to buy wifi adaptor, but i don't know will it solve the problem. (and probably i am going to have driver problem) 2nd option: I am going to write a new thread with python. This code will check wifi connection every 10 seconds, if …

Hi there, I want to migrate system on OPi PC+ from 32GB uSD card to 16GB card. System is small enough to fit on 16GB, but too large for 8GB eMMC (amazingly fast according dd). How to do it? My idea is: - copy (raw, using dd) first 8192 sectors from 32GB to 16GB, - then remove partition (32GB) and recreate it with 16GB size, format using same EXT filesystem, - copy (on another computer, or "simple" Armbian installed on eMMC) partition contents using rsync. Will it work? Will there be no issue with different UUID of new partition?

OK, being away for a while and having 5.x kernel and sunxi_cedrus around I need some directions. I had some embedded 3.x desktop installations in a community museum showing videos (using mpv after a button press) which need revising. So I decided to update the firmware/scripts etc. These are Orange Pi One's... In the past I installed 3.x desktop version as it has better video acceleration. What should I do now? I don't see a focal desktop in downloads. Is it OK to use the focal server, install xfce4 on top of it? Will I have video acceleration? I've been using HEVC .mkv files... Thanks in advance Bülent ~# uname -a Linux myhostna…

I know it's not an officially supported board, but it's been working really well so far, so I'll give it a shot. Today I updated my kernel to 5.9.0-sunxi (coming from 5.9.0-rc7-sunxi) and after rebooting the (wired) network was dead. Everything looked fine, ethernet driver is loaded, interfaces were up and had IP addresses, but packets were not being sent. Pinging anything but the Banana Pi itself says "destination host unreachable". Routes were set and looked correct - even tho they should not even be necessary as I was pinging the gateway. tcpdump on eth0 showed nothing at all, almost as if the kernel doesn't know where to send the packets. Anyon…

Hi, I've been trying to get the next IMU sensor to work: Fusion_IMU_BNO055, on my OPi zero with Armbian Bionic 20.08.10 with the linux kernel 5.8.14-sunxi. Greetings, Some time ago, I built armbian with kernel 5.4.51. I applied a patch to two dts files that allowed for the OV5640 camera to work. By "work", I mean /dev/video0 was present in the system and /dev/media0 was also present. I could set camera parameters with media-ctl pointing to /dev/media0. Now, I've updated, and using a legacy kernel, 5.4.65, I cannot reproduce this. I've applied the same dts changes, but upon booting this image /dev/media0 is missing. I've compared the two kernel configurations, and there are very minimal differences: # diff config-5.4.51-sunxi /boot/config-5.4.65-sunxi 3c3 < # Linux/arm 5.4…

Hello ! I have a problem with an OrangePi Zero under Armbian Buster with mainline kernel (5.8). I need to put the module snd-aloop as primary soundcard (index=0), and the integrated soundcard sun4i-codec as index=1. It worked very well with kernel 5.4 and before. I just had to load the snd-aloop module by adding it to /etc/modules and add "options snd-aloop index=0" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf. But now this is impossible, snd-aloop doesn't load. I had this message when I try to load it manually : modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'snd_aloop': No such device After reading configuration file of the kernel, I saw that the module sun4i-codec (integrat…

Hi all, I've purchased a second hand banana pi M1 board with an BPI 7 inch LC connected on prarallel RGB. The board and the LCD is working with last bananian distribution and https://github.com/BPI-SINOVOIP/BPI-M1-M1Plus-Configuration/blob/master/fex/BPI_M1_7lcd.fex. I'm trying to make both working with Armbian but I'm lost. I don't find the script.bin, /boot/script.bin or anywhere. And no idea how to set /boot/armbianEnv.txt for the LCD. The kernel have been rebuilded using this topic. Any help will be apreciate. Regards Hugues

I bought an orange pi lite 2 and I would like to use it with the ADC MCP3008 but when executing the code in python using the spidev library, it always returns the value of 1023 and when I disconnect the ADC it keeps showing the same value, it is as if there was no communication , The ADC is not the one with the problem since I tried it with an arduino mega and it works perfectly, it is in the orange pi lite 2 where it does not work. the connections are: VDD=3.3V VREF=3.3V AGND=GND CLK= (PC00) SPIO_CLK DOUT=(PC03) MISO DINT=(PC02) MOSI CS = (PC05) SPI0_CS0 DGND= GND import spidev import time spi = spidev.SpiDe…

You need to connect the equipment via the I2C bus with a frequency of 1 kHz or 10 kHz to Orange pi 3 (OS Armbian Buster with Linux 5.3.9-sunxi64). Dear maintainers, I have my sensors configured to reboot every night via a user cronjob (0 0 * * * /sbin/reboot), 14 sensors do this without a problem. I've fixed the nanopi neo+2 reboot from NAND some months ago (by re-using friendlyarm first stage u-boot). I just stumbled upon a failed reboot with one of my nanopi neo+2 nodes, after two successful reboots. Looking at the /var/log.hdd/syslog, it got stuck in the shutdown procedure when the watchdog reported a failure. Hi. I'm using "Orangepi-r1_focal_current_5.8.5" Armbian. I'm connected to it via Wifi. Everything working fine, but after few hours, I notice that it is no longer showing on my network. If I connect by cable I can ssh to it via ethernet without any issue and it stays available for several days without disconnecting. Any idea why this happens? when Wifi disconnects I will have to reboot to show it again. And I am not running any program on it. Is orange pi r1 wifi like orange pi zero wifi suffering from poor software support?

Hi all, I'm new here at the Armbian board. I operate a self made house automation based on a Raspberry using a self written PHP server and Homegear. To have a better wireless connection to a differential temperature sensor, I built a Homegear Gateway based on a Nano Pi Neo with Armbian OS and a 868 MHz CC1101 module. For the network connection I use a Realtek USB WLAN NIC (Realtek RTL8188EUS-Chipset). Most of the time the gateway works. But around 2-3 times per week the gateway hangs and I cannot log on anymore. A hard restart by unplugging power is required. The only indications I find are 2 dumps of the RTL8188EU driver in kern.log…

Hi all. Firstly, sorry I had posted this query in the wrong forum. I´m trying to add support for a raw SPI comunication through SPI0, as it´s a custom comunication with a little auxiliary board, I think best option is to have a spidev device. My scenario is: Banana pi m2 ultra Armbian 5.4.35-sunxi, server (No gui). I have been modifying .dts and .dtsi files, here are parts of the files that I modified: sun8i-r40.dtsi spi0_pins: spi0-pins { pins = "PC0", "PC1", "PC2"; function = "spi0"; }; spi0: spi@1c05000 { compatible = "allwinner,sun8i-spi"; device_type = "spidev"; reg = …

I successfully installed Armbian 20.08.1 to eMMC, and it works fine. Now, I want to try Raspberry OS (I'm told that it works?) but regardless of what I put on my uSD card (I've tried several OS's) - when rebooting the OPi 3+, it always comes up with the eMMC Armbian load. In researching this, I read over and over that the uSD card always has priority over the eMMC. Is this still true with the current version of Armbian? What could explain the behavior I'm seeing? I tried the Install to/update booth loader, both option, with no change in behavior. Any thoughts?

Hello, Earlier on this week I decided to upgrade the kernel and the DTBs on my Armbian cluster (quite a few different boards but all of them based on Allwinner A20) from buster-next-5.92 to buster-current-20.08.2. Having successfully completed the upgrade on several other servers, I moved on to the lime2 one - which promptly failed to come back up after the reboot. Connecting the serial console shows u-boot doing its thing without issues and the kernel beginning to boot, producing normal messages - only to suddenly freeze. When exactly the freeze occurs varies, sometimes it even happens halfway through outputting a message line - but it is definitely before th…

Hi, I installed Armbian image 20.8.1-focal-5.8.5 to Orange Pi PC. I am experiencing issues with playing sounds (tested with playing .wav files). Upon starting playback first 1-2 seconds are omitted and then sound plays as it should. I didn't notice this issue on Xenial (3.4.113). Issue is identical to the ones reported in following threads: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12059-orange-pi-lite-missing-first-second-of-the-audio-output/ https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12059-orange-pi-lite-missing-first-second-of-the-audio-output/ Has anyone managed to solve it? Thanks

Hello, I have OPI0 with Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS with Linux 5.8.6-sunxi and I would like to set 240 MHz as minimum frequency. cpufreq-info shows that available steps starts at 480 MHz but on older kernel 240 MHz and 120 MHz were available too. I also tried to "force" 240 and 120 by editing /etc/default/cpufrequtils but no go. Lower reachable frequency is 480 MHz and what I see are a bit CPU higher temperatures. cpufreq-info cpufrequtils 008: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009 Report errors and bugs to cpufreq@vger.kernel.org, please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: cpufreq-dt CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0 1 2 3 C…

After having my old debian (wheezy? or jessy?) unbootable from systemd update I decided to clean install. Having gotten a good Power supply, an A1 Speed 10 SD card, etcher image, and armbian debian 20.08 (also tried 20.07), The board boots (Welcome to armbian) up to "network interfaces up) - then the screen goes blank/black, and I get the green led heardbeat (slow blinking) for a while. Pushing power again the board shuts down (green LED blinking rapidly for a moment, then red power LED comes off). I have had installed boot to nand / Sata disk before but all that shouldn't matter I think because the boot from SD Card seems successful - why could it be th…

On a fresh install of Armbian 20.08.1/Linux 5.8.5-sunxi on an OPi Zero (256MB version), total memory is 238MB according to "free -m": root@orangepizero:~# free -m total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 238 74 78 1 85 154 Swap: 119 0 119 238MB is not 256MB. :-) I assume the discrepancy is due to reserved framebuffer memory, but after a bit of testing I've found that the "sunxi_fb_mem_reserve" parameter (set to "16" in /boot/boot.cmd by default) has no apparent effect. Hi, I just wanted to report this bug. Latest Armbian Buster images for OPi Lite 2 don't work. When they're booted up, it takes 30 seconds for the device to freeze completely. The screen, keyboard, network, everything is frozen after less than a minute. I downgraded to a release from a month ago and it boots up correctly.

Hello, I am using Armbian on a Nanopi Neo Allwinner h3. Hello, I am trying to use BPI with legacy Armbian and Stella emulator with 16:10 monitor (using HDMI-DVI cable) I just dont know how to set proper 16:10 resolution. The resolution I set in armbian-config is 1680x1050, but it is different from resolution that Stella uses, when I launch it on the startup. It uses the resolution defined in FEX. So I checked https://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide#disp_init_configuration and tried various resolutions, but dont know which of them is 16:10 and what is the exact resolution. For example 576p can mean anything. How can I find it out? Thank you very much.

Hi guys! I have a problem with Orange Pi 3. After a night leaving the small board turned on I reboot the board and try to use a Bluetooth connector it shutdown. Again and again the same problem. When I touched the board it was so hot. Even when I use outside the case the board can't support a process for at least 30 minutes without turning off. I got the outputs of dmesg. As I don't know, I am a replay newbie, I ask for help here. Best regards. Paulo

Can we switch a 64 bit image from downloads section to 32 bit kernel, repos and apps? I want a 32 bit (armhf) build server, but can see 64 bit OS images only. Do I need to build my custom armbian image? Are there command line examples for build script that produces armhf image instead of aarch64? I prefer H6 SoC instead of H3 because H6 is two times faster than H3, but the price of H6-based boards is very similar to H3-based boards. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm using Armbian Linux on a Cubietruck A20 device configured as a media, file and backup server. Unfortunately while trying to fix a persistent SATA-cable connection problem I accidentally pushed the FEL button on the device. Now the device is always booting in FEL mode searching for USB devices, and I'm unable to reverse this. I have been looking at multiple pages about the FEL mode but I'm unable to find useful information on how to quit or exit this FEL mode and to have the cubietruck booting as it did before. Although I'm not a Linux novice, the information about FEL is quite complex and I have to admit I'm clueless about how to fix this s…

Hello, friends. I am using legacy Armbian 3.x kernel on my development boards where I run Stella emulator with some special USB joystick. I tried to build it from the source using this https://github.com/paroj/xpad I can load it with modprobe, the joystick seems to be detected, but it is not working in Stella, I cannot eve…

Hi everyone, I am trying to setup a new armbian buster system on a lime2 eMMC board. Not currently using the eMMC. Wanted to have a regular armbian install on the sd card, and then an encrypted root partition on an SSD attached with SATA. Good day friends, For some time now I've been trying a DAC (dac-pcm5102mk-i2s) with the Orangepi Pc Plus OS "Debian Stretch with Armbian Linux 4.19.62-sunxi" to put into operation. Unfortunately without success so far. Debin strech does not have a script.bin that I could convert in order to be able to make the settings. I would be happy if someone could help me. Best regards Hans-Jürgen Grigoleit

When I try to read the input on PA19 immediately goes to "1" even though there is no voltage being sent to the pin. Example: #!/usr/local/bin/python from pyA20.gpio import gpio from pyA20.gpio import port pin_to_circuit = port.PA19 gpio.init() gpio.setcfg(pin_to_circuit, gpio.OUTPUT) gpio.output(pin_to_circuit, 0) gpio.setcfg(pin_to_circuit, gpio.INPUT) print(gpio.input(pin_to_circuit)) I don't understand why this would put "1" with nothing even connected to the PA19 pin? Are there some settings I need to change to get PA19 working as a normal GPIO pin?

Hi, I'm having some instability issues with WiFi driver on Orange Pi Zero Plus, it uses RTL8189FTV instead of buggy XR819 chip. Hello, Im trying to get 2 Uarts working on an Orange Pi Zero+2. Im using armbian Buster image for OPiZ+2 Linux orangepizeroplus2-h3 5.4.43-sunxi #20.05.2 SMP Mon Jun 1 18:26:22 CEST 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux I added UART1, UART2 and UART3 to armbianEnv.txt and was able to read / write on ttyS2 on pins 8 (PA00) and 10 (PA01). But couldnt find which pins ttyS1 or ttyS3 are on. I read at that UART 3 should be Tx PA13 Pin 24 Rx PA14 Pin 23 Is anyone able to suggest which pins I can use for a 2nd UART and is there a file I can look in to find the configuration for the UART Overlays ? Thanks Chris …

I am not sure if this is intended or bug, When building the image for Nanopi duo2 I cannot add kvm. This worked before so I guess that this is regression. I get this search result for kvm in the build process: ┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Search Results ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐ │ Symbol: KVM [=KVM] …

I am using Armbian_20.05.4_Lime-a64_focal_current_5.4.45_desktop.img.xz and I try run glxgears on Olinuxino-A64 with Lima. When I running glxgears I see 117 frames in 5.0 second = 23.313FPS. Also mouse response so slow on desktop. It is understood from here Olinuxino-A64 doing software render. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am new at this job and I have difficulty in fully understanding the problem. Is there a way I can get high FPS in glxgears using Lima? What exactly is problem here? Sorry if I ask silly question. Thanks. Below are some outputs for the board I use. dmesg | grep "lima" output: [ 8.579828] lima 1c40000.gpu: IRQ ppmmu2 not found [ …

I am running Armbian Focal with Linux 5.4.43-sunxi64 (and now downgraded to 4.19.125-sunxi64) on my Orange Pi PC 2. I use motion software to provide a "18ec:5555 Arkmicro Technologies Inc. USB2.0 PC CAMERA" to the network. I also use pjsip to provide SIP functionality for the same device as audio input. As soon as I start pjsip for some reason I get a very high load average until the kernel detectets stalled CPUs and finally the entire device crashes. This worked fine in a previous version and started after I upgraded to focal. I did a kernel backtrace and this is what I got: [ 401.002517] sysrq: Show backtrace of all active CPUs [ 401.009965] sysrq: CPU1: [ 401.01…
