However, I fail to load the driver due to version magic: When trying to force the load: But no dmesg message about magic check failure.

But if you are already strayed like me, i decided to share my modifications, to make this inconsiderate piece of hardware useful. With this mods the device finally work as i need it to and i am fully happy with hardware part. Not so happy with software though, but that's another story. The main reason for me, to buy this router, except pc like capabilities, was SATA+SATA power connector. I used my old router with usb HDD, so it sounded good to have it in box and on native sata interface. Silly me, who would thought this will be the most troubled …

After trying to get the power switch to work as a power switch (by this I mean booting the board when it was previously shutdown), and after searching for a while, it seems that the power switch in the Orange Pi Lite is not a real one, but it's instead connected to a GPIO. Do you guys know of any Orange Pi board that implements a proper power switch? Thanks.

  23. The topic is no longer new, but I have not found the reason and its solution! If you turn off the power (just pull out the wire) then you can get a non-working system. As I noticed, the files opened at the time of launch are broken. And some files such as /etc/boot/armbianEnv.txt in general, they are recorded with some kind of garbage!!! Because of this, your settings fly off! For example, I use ttys1 and this option is registered armbianEnv.txt , but after the power loss, there is just terrible garbage in this file, as if the memory dump fell there!!! For example, I still use dotnet, so it also breaks down and does not start anymore!! When y…

Or is the network support disabled in the current builds at all? Best regards Werner

  34. I just ordered a couple of Orange Pi Zero systems to use in small IoT projects. Reading the forum I see the wireless for Orange Pi Zero might have issues. 43. Hello. I have an Orange Pi Zero board with Armbian on it. I want to use its serial pins for flashing arduinos. Right now I only have 1x3 serial pins and 1x13 media (?) pins soldered, the 2x13 GPIO doesn't have any pins and I don't have any spare ones to solder (alright, I might have some, but I'm too lazy for that). That means I only have access to UART0 pins which are currently reserved for Linux console. With RPi Zero and Raspbian the same problem was solved by simply removing "console=ttyAMA0,115200" from kernel options. However, Armbian seems to generate kernel options entirely from armbianEnv.txt, making it impossible to manually remove ser…

  44. Hello there! Its nice to meet everyone and thank you so much for having me! I have this great project i'm working on involving 30 orange pi zeros. You see SD cards are expensive when you need to buy 30 of them so I have been trying for about a month now to make armbian work without the SD card. The idea is to boot into the os get a few things running and then remove the card and boot another pi. I have tried creating a ramfs mount and copying/mounting (what I believe are) all the requirements and then using chroot. But that doesnt work at all. I'm imagining that outside of chroot services are still running and once they cant write to some file…

  45. Hi Martin and others I started a new Thread because have problems using some third party interfaces with OrangePI running Armbian. Well.. In my project I need to communicate with 5 sensors which have UART output so I decided to buy a circuit (uart2spi) which work well if connected to Arduino. The Circuit description is available here: http://www.rowlandtechnology.com/projects/2015/09/25/spi-to-4-x-uart-bridge-multiuart-project/ First step: This is how I have connected the circuit to GPIO bus on my OrangePi pc.. That is, I give my client the orange pi configured and no sd card inserted, starts with emmc, but if someone inserts an sd card with any image for this card can mount the internal partition and access the contents. 51. Apologies if this is documented/reported somewhere else, but I can't see anything on a quick forum search. I received two Orange Pi Zeros this morning, and eagerly downloaded the Orange Pi Zero flavour of Armbian (Xenial Legacy) and loaded it up on a good 8GB microSD. I then started using it, updating it, and suddenly realised that it only had a 1.4GB partition when it failed to finish updating due to insufficient space. I thought since I'd had some issues logging into it that I might have interrupted the first boot resize, so I re-imaged it, and loaded it up, left if five minutes, and then logged. No cigar... says it is still 1.4GB (1.4GB size, 1.2GB used, 2…

In my Orange Pi One with ARMBIAN 5.27.170422 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 4.10.11-sun8i I install acpi: sudo apt-get install acpi And run sudo acpi_listen And nothing is show when I press the power button. Is normal or my button is damaged? Thanks

  83. Hi everyone, I want to have a diskless Orange Pi Win, i'm trying to get the Ethernet to work in u-boot, but it does not seem to connect at all with my router when booting, no blinking led at all (none on the Pi neither on the router), I tried différents cables, ports, searched on the web, found some "patches" on DTS file on the web for pine64... But nothing seems to work (but Ethernet works correctly when the Pi is booted on Linux). Any Idea ? Many thanks,

  84. Can the opi zero decode anything above 1080p? I want to decode a 3MP h.264 stream (2048*1538) and re-encode it to 1080p and serve over RTSP. do I need to get an H3 for that? the wiki says http://linux-sunxi.org/H2%2B#Variants Is that HDMI specific or lack of GPU power for decoding? Will that be pushing it too much even on an OPI PC?

  85. Hi there! I've recently configured the ov5640 camera overlay and was able to capture videos either with mjpg-streamer of ffmpeg. Now on 6.1.34 both causes now a kernel oops. From the stack trace it looks like it happens inside v4l2 "media_pad_remote_pad_first" Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000030 ... ... PC is at media_pad_remote_pad_first+0xa/0x58 I don't think v4l2 is the root cause because this may mean it fails alle the time which is unlikely. Looks like a null ptr gets passed in into media_pad_remote_pad_first ffmpeg used like this, but other parameters all resulting in the kernel oop…

Hi all, First of all, a big thanks for making Armbian work, the work you guys have done is incredible. I have a BPI M2+ board and I have a problem getting the serial communication to work both ways. I am using the latest image that is available to download on the Armbian website version 5.20, Jessie server, 3.4.112 kernel. According to the board fex file (found here) the configuration for the uart2 is: [uart2] uart_used = 1 uart_port = 2 uart_type = 4 uart_tx = port:PA00<2><1><default><default> uart_rx = port:PA01<2><1><default><default> uart_rts = port:PA02<2><1>&l…

  88. Hello guys, I'm just starting with bash scripts and the bananaPi, and I'm curious how the developers came up with the value of RAM usage, and why in the welcome script that loads when I login to SSH, the RAM usage is different from the command free -m ? I don;t really understand the line about memory_usage I just noticed the result is different from the free -m Thanks # memory and swap mem_info=$(LANG=en_US.UTF-8 free -w 2>/dev/null | grep "^Mem" || LANG=en_US.UTF-8 free | grep "^Mem") memory_usage=$(awk '{printf("%.0f",(($2-($4+$6+$7))/$2) * 100)}' <<<${mem_info}) memory_total=$(awk '{printf("%d",$2/1024)}' <<&l…

The essence of the problem is this. I work with Orange PC Plus microcomputers. I used to use the Armbian_5.25_Orangepipcplus_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113 distribution And so the device address was HW Address: fa: 20: 6d: b5: 65: bd But when installing new distros Armbian MAC becomes different. HW Address: 12: 81: ab: 1a: 39: 92 Permanennt HW Address: 12: 81: ab: 1a: 39: 92 I really need the MAC to be like before. And it did not change when reinstalling the OS. How to do it?

  90. So I have a nanopi m1 and a neo. I'm running Ubuntu Xenial on them: https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ I'm attempting to access the gpio, when I attempt to echo to /sys/class/gpio/export I get permission denied (sudo or not, even if logged in as root). I've also found this library for python to handle gpio on the nanopi: https://github.com/jrspruitt/FriendlyARM_Python_GPIO But when I use it, it says: as root root@nanopineo:/home/admin# python test.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "test.py", line 7, in <module> gpio.gpio_init(16, 1) File "build/bdist.linux-armv7l/egg/fgpio/fgpio.py", line 85, in gpio_init File "build/…

Hello, I am using the Armbian_5.38_Orangepizero_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14 image on an OPi zero (H2+ chip). I tried to get "some sound" out of the LINEOUTL and right pins at the expansion port. However, alsa executables like aplay report that there is no sound card. (see below) I testet also with a non-root user (which is in the audio group). My initial guess was that there must some additioanl kernel modules loaded. As I understand, however, the lsmod output, (2) below, should be ok. What it is thing to do to see soundcard(s), e.g. as /dev/dsp? Do I need to set files such as ~/.asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf as a prereq…

  93. Hello All, I have configured OrangePiR1 as router. There are three network interfaces, two as wired and one wifi(hotspot). eth0 serve for access to internet(via ppp/adsl) and eth1+Wlan0 for internal network. Interfaces eth1 and wlan0 are in bridge br0. Problem is, that interface eth1 sometimes loses connection/link(cable and switch were checked ). Next nonstandard behavior of eth1 is, that only yellow led control is blinking, while green led control is not alight. Network interfaces were configured via file /etc/network/interfaces. However, when I checked network manager nmcli, I saw, that some connections are configured there too (there can …

Hey there, I am a long time user of your armbian operating system. It is great, I am using it for a simple home NAS system. But I have found one problem with armbian, which is very annoying: My standard Banana Pi keeps loosing the HDD Ive connected over Sata. It is a 3,5" Seagate Barracude 3TB drive formated as Ext4. It gets 5V and 12V power and runs quite perfect, as long as it has something to do. It spins up and down as I configured it. But when I leave the pi for a longer time period unattended (no workload), and the harddrive stays in spindown-mode too long, it wont identify the HDD anymore. The mount point and the /dev/sda are gone. I need to powercycle t…

  99. Hi, First of all sorry for my bad English. I am trying play video on my OrangePi Zero2+ H3 and 7inch waveshare touch screen. I couldn't get the touch screen work with Armbian 5.38 - 3.xx kernel. (I downloaded the Armbian Xenial desktop legacy kernel 3.4.y from website.
