Hi All I am not able to run Armbian Buster from the Downloads page (https://www.armbian.com/cubietruck/) on the CT board. Other images run fine, including: - Armbian_5.65_Cubietruck_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.78 (from archive) - Armbian_5.65_Cubietruck_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.14.78 (from archive) - openwrt-19.07.7-sunxi-cortexa7-sun7i-a20-cubietruck-squashfs-sdcard.img.gz (from OpenWrt downloads site) The problem is that it endlessly reboots after resetting the CPU. The output from the serial port is shown below. I can interrupt the Autoboot and get to the Uboot console ok. The output from printenv is also shown below. Any…

I just noticed there isn't a i2s/i2s0 overlay for the mainline kernel series: Linux orangepipcplus 4.14.78-sunxi #412 SMP Fri Oct 26 11:37:04 CEST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux https://github.com/armbian/sunxi-DT-overlays/tree/master/sun8i-h3 Is it a simple matter of just adding some text files for DT? Or was i2s intentionally left out because or some conflict for example? (I had good luck with legacy on Banana Pi Pro a long time ago with fex, so I'm guessing it's a unintended omission?)

have there been more changes for Desktop recently except the repos? Yesterday I have updated and tried to compile, noticed that the function "fetch_from_github" was gone (replaced by "fetch_from_repo"?). After I changed my script accordingly I was able to compile, but the desktop doesn't come up any more. It looks like "fbturbo" module is completely missing? I don't see any reference to this in the logs; where should it be so I can try to debug?

Hi Just got my first Orange Pi Zero today. Everything looking good, with the exception, if I run iperf tests between this and a linux host, the Orange Pi Zero will reboot without any error messages. I changed my power supply to a wall plug which can support 2.4amp easily, also tried to tune down the frequency to 900Mhz max, 4 cores, turned off HDMI/GPU, USB. DRAM is at minimum, 408 I think. Temperature remains at 55 to 58C Still once a while during heavy network, the board will reboot. The image i used is the legacy image posted on orange pi zero, Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113 Thanks Jerry

Hi there, Recently you helped me to setup a WiFI AP on Armbian and a bananapim2p board: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/2395-access-point-mode-with-ap6212-on-armbian-521/ The current problem I am facing: the dhd module on armbian 5.25 does not on my bananapim2p boards. To be precise: I have one bananapi m2p where the dhd module loads perfectly on armbian 5.25, I created an image of this board's emmc and flashed the emmc of two different m2p boards. The dhd config file looks like: cat /etc/modprobe.d$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/dhd.conf options dhd op_mode=2 firmware_path=/lib/firmware/ap6212/fw_bcm43438a0_apsta.bin With the modprobe configuration the m2p board…

I'm on a years old Orange pi zero H2, an often forgotten single purpose print/scan server board. So i want to upgrade to the latest kernel via armbian-config->system->other(switch kernel). Previously its on 4.19. so when i tried to change to current 5.8.16, 5.8.14, 5.8.12 & 5.8.5, i got "No end-user support: unsupported (stretch) userspace!" it has taken me an hours plus just switching kernel, hoping to find the supported ones. though i dont mind unsupported / legacy kernel, i still prefer the latest supported ones. Is any of the kernel on the list supported? if there none on the list, is there a way to add a supported kernel?…

Good evening, I ran into some problems with sbc-bench on a couple of Allwinner boards Orange Pi Zero, Orange Pi Zero+, Orange Pi One and Nanopi Neo 2 spcifically. The 7 Zip benchmark causes the following error: ./sbc-bench.sh: Zeile 611: 4206 Bus-Zugriffsfehler "${SevenZip}" b >> ${TempLog} Most likely due to a problem with the ZRam: zram: Decompression failed! err=-22 This happens on all boards under Debian and focal with different SD cards and power supplies. Hi all, Running Armbian Ubuntu 18.04 with stock neo2 4.19.20 kernel I tried installing https://github.com/friendlyarm/WiringNP but after installation `gpio readall` says : "This NanoPi model is currently not supported." However all the wiki's and the Github page says it's supported.......? I can see GPIO in the sys fs at /sys/class/gpio/ but I was hoping to have an easier time with it than manually exporting each pin and calculating offsets for pins with scraps of info online etc. Objective 1: Read a high/low 3.3v/0v status from a GPIO Objective 2: Read an analog voltage, using an ADC. Does the H5 include an ADC? When I look i…

Hello, I'm running rsync to backup a VPS to an USB hard drive on the neo2 and sometimes rsync just stops with "read error from input device (I/O error)". I believe this issue happens when rsync is causing high load in the USB disk, writing or removing a large number of files or trying to write a big file. Notes: The hard drive is on a self powered enclosure - so power failure is not really an option here I also have Apache and mariadb storing data on the USB disk and I never had this kind of I/O errors with it OS: Debian GNU/Linux 9.4 (stretch) Drive is ext4 Whenever rysnc stops I get this under /var/log/messages:…

The Luma library allows you to display text, graphics, animation, etc. on multiple display types. Here I will describe the easiest one to configure which is Luma.OLED and the I2C version of the SSD1306. You can find these displays on EBay and Amazon for less than $10 US each (you can get them for less than $3 US if you order from China, but it might not show up). I've configured Luma on many SBCs and it's my go to library if I need a small display for projects. Requirements NanoPi Duo (I used V1.0 board with 512 MB RAM) flashed with Armbian image. This will work with or without the mini shield. Small nylon nuts, bolts and standoffs if y…

I had to freeze my device on Kernel 6.1.92 & Bullseye to remain operational. Now trying to update/upgrade to Kernel 6.6.nn I run into following probs: 1) Using Armbian-config defreeze and subsequently switch to kernel 6.6.nn works OK 4me, but subsequent apt-get update/upgrade throws me back to kernel 6.1.104. Armbian-config has changed significantly w/ No other Kernel available. 2) Using Armbian-config defreeze, only and going directly to apt-get update/upgrade throws me back to kernel 6.1.104 as well and from Bullseye back to Buster! Its a mess! Will this eventually be corrected and when? RGDS

Hi, I'm using Nanopi DUO2 for few IoT projects. Using the microUSB serial console connection is very convenient and fast method to manage this SBC. Unfortunately with latest version of Armbian (tested with v24.11.0) it not working any more. Version 23.11.1 works fine out from the box, but after sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade the microUSB serial console is not available. Any suggestion how to switch it back will be very appreciated. Slawek

I did manage to use the rmbian_5.27_Orangepizeroplus2-h5_Debian_jessie_dev_4.11.0.img.xz image and things boot fine. I also get pretty console on hdmi. But no network, and I don't have a way to get the keyboard on. Any suggestions on what kind of an adapter I need to get power AND usb keyboard to the thing (since there are no extra ports on it)? Or is it serial? Good recommendation on proper 'converter". I did modify the initial armbian_first_boot to enable wifi with proper ssid / password, and even enabled static, but no dice. Thomas

Hey folks! On monday I was able to fix the overscanning issue of my Orange Pi zero (read here). Because fiddling around with the register values can be pretty harsh some times I decided to created a small programm to move the picture of the composite video output. You can find the project page here: https://projects.nwrk.biz/projects/allwinner-tvout With this tool you can easily move the picture relative to its actual position by just calling : $ sudo tvout -m -x <value in px> -y <value in px> To reset the position you can use: $ sudo tvout -r I hope some of you may find this useful. If I have enoug…

From Zadors reply to I learned there is a Video Engine for Video, Mali for 3d and a Display Engine for 2d. I used an old version of armbian on OPi PC (h3disp had no 4k option) . Moving desktop windows was very fast. In current desktop release legacy 3.4.113 moving large windows is very slow. So I guess Display Engine is not working correctly. How can I determine if it works? Mainline version gives me no display at all. Thanks.

Sorry for the minimal info provided in this report but, due to the possible data corruption which the bug may cause, I'm not willing to reproduce this again on my board which runs in production. One week ago, I experienced data corruption happening on the nanopi. Actually it was some time (more than one month) that I saw the board acting weird: - long ssh transfers would sometime brake (via https://github.com/dooblem/bsync) - `apt update` reported invalid keys for the official armbian repository - on rare occasions, the board would freeze (not respond to ssh, requiring manual power cycle) After experiencing data corruption, I …

First off, I'd like to thank the maintainers for all the work you've put into Armbian. It's really been a pleasure to use. I'm currently using an OrangePI 2+as a kiosk computer, and I'm wondering if there might be some other way to wake it from sleep other than pressing the power button. Would it be possible for it to wake from sleep if one of the GPIO pins were pulled high, for instance? TIA, -Jim

This is regardless of the HDD setup chosen, at least I tried with the two disks inside configured as JBOD as well as RAID1. After connecting the USB HDD, dmesg doesnt show any output, lsblk doesnt show it. Is there anything I can do about it to get it working, is it a firmware issue?

(Finally this forum lets me enter a new topic. It's failing most of the time, making it really hard to solve my actual problem if the infrastructure also fails.) I'm using an Orange Pi Zero board and try to make it talk to a radio module via SPI. The whole thing already works on a Raspberry Pi so the module and cabling is correct. But the module doesn't respond to requests on the Orange Pi. Since this doesn't do anything, I searched for issues like this and along the way found an SPI loopback tool. I tried it and it returned all zeros. The tool readme suggests that the MOSI and MISO pins are not connected, but they are. I checked and resoldered those pins and …

Hi Guys, I bought one of these pcDuino 4 (Nano Pi M1) boards: http://www.linksprite.com/pcduino4-nano/ Works great with Armbian Legacy Kernal. I got this screen with the HDMI + DSI Driver Board. Works fine with normal PC -> HDMI output but will not work with the Nano Pi.. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/LS055R1SX04-1440x2560-5-5-2K-LCD_60672828148.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.1.3c93b095HGc0XS The LCD screen just turns on then off and on and off forever. It never locks on to the HDMI signal. The Nano Pi M1 works just fine with a regular monitor but not with the LCD/Driver combo. I have seen some purple images come up on …

Hey guys, I was wondering why the Browsers doesnt support H/W Acceleration, now i found out its because the Mali Driver is outdated. I installed also Chromium and forced it to use the GPU, well at least it trys but i got a bunch of errors. Is there a way to add a new Driver? Tried also to compile it myself but i was never that deep into linux and never had to compile drivers, here are the sources: http://malideveloper.arm.com/resources/drivers/open-source-mali-utgard-gpu-linux-kernel-drivers/ I think the current Kernel uses a horrible outdated r3p0 Version and a new one is r7p0, at least r4p0 is needed which should work with Chromium and finally add H/W Accelerat…

I use "./compile.sh BRANCH=default BOARD=orangepilite KERNEL_ONLY=no PROGRESS_DISPLAY=plain RELEASE=xenial" to build the whole booting image for my orangepi lite, it works very good as the official prebuilt armbian image. Here, the usb otg port seems configured as peripheral mode already( g_searial module works as gadget in fact), I can use it as usb seraial well. However, I want to make it works as a usb storage, so, I though the g_mass_storage was the right module. I loaded it using following command: insmode g_mass_storage.ko file=/dev/mmcblk0p1 removable=1 then, I got kernel message like: [ 194.842091] usb open ba…

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I just got a Orange Pi plus 2E. The specs are nice and the price is competitive. However, I don't seem to find an image with gpu working well. No hardware acceleration available. This means I cannot use chrome properly / watch videos / play web games with WebGL. From armbian website / logs: Mali OpenGL ES does not work on H3 boards with 2GB RAM (Orange Pi Plus 2, Orange Pi Plus 2e) Any idea when will the Mali driver work on 2GB RAM models? The OPi is nowhere near usable right now. Thanks!

After a (sudo) poweroff, the ethernet port leds turn off, the usb sockets' power supply too, but the green led remains on. I would like the green led to turn off after a sudo poweroff. How can I do that? What's the best way to do it? It's an Orange Pi PC with ARMBIAN 5.60 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.113-sun8i Thanks.

Dear All, I need to install a MongoDB due to install unifi controller. Base on the documatation (UniFi - How to Install & Update via APT on Debian or Ubuntu) version 2.9.10 is recommend . You can find the latest installation guide for Ubuntu here, and Debian here. Both does not work. I've got the following error message when performing "apt-get update", I now this is the MonoDB version 3.4, but I got the same message on the recommended version. To be honest, I'm not a debian expert :-( Thank you for your assistance BR Patrick

I have a BananaPi running 4.2 (with Wheezy) and I am getting poor network speed. When testing download a file from the internet, I am averaging ~500k/s. I have another BananaPi running 3.4 (also with Wheezy) and on that board, I am averaging ~3MB/s downloading the same file from the same location. I tested this multiple times and the results are pretty much the same. Any idea why network performance is so poor on 4.2? Thanks.

Hi, I have been running Armbian on OrangePi Lite for more than a year just fine. Then I decided to upgrade and flashed the latest version. Now with the latest version the device looses wifi every few days no matter which wifi device I use. In order to investigate I have plugged additional USB wifi. Some time both wifi work. Then built-in may disconnect and stop working, but USB keeps working. Or vice versa, USB stops working, but the built in keeps working. I have been able to send syslog to an external machine and here what it showed Connection works fine: The next day one of the connections stops working and…

I'm trying, with no success, to make a 3,5 inch tft lcd screen function with an orange pi zero plus (h5) via SPI. I will love if someone could help me diagnose the reason why I'm failing in doing so. The screen in question is a WaveShare knockoff -> link (the pinout can be found at the bottom of the page.) I'm running Armbian buster 5.92 with the kernel 4.19.63 and all packages upgraded. I also have a working serial connection (using the UART pins located next to Ethernet jack on the board) and am using the 'screen' program to communicate with the device. When connecting the screen and turning on the board the leds on the screen turn…

Hello every one, My first post here i'll try to be clear but english is not my mother langage. I bought a couple of opi zero with usb expansion board and a case. I needed small devices able to run a linux daemon and control a bluetooth LE device. They are used as antennas in a bluetooth mesh network. The orange pi zero seemed to be a good choice. I first installed the opizero with armbian 5.24 debian version. Unfortunately I was unable to use bluepy lib. It was the same with the xenial version. Another user of the bluetooth advertisement plugin told me to use last firmware (5.25) and upgrade to 4.x kernel. I was then able to use bluepy lib. I moved the opi zeros …

Hi. I'm a new user. I have a Banana PI M1+, that is connected to a monitor with maximum resolution of 1280x1024 and with only DVI port. I'm using Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, and I installed XFCE using tasksel. If I leave it without any user interaction, the monitor goes to sleep, and I'm not able to wake it up anymore. But it works, because I'm able to connect to it using putty from another computer. So I tried to install Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, but I have the same problem. I tried also to disable "Switch Off After" in the Display section of power management without success. Can someone help me please?

Hi Guyzz Just got a OPI1 (H3 512MB), and was trying out the stretch image from here https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one/ https://dl.armbian.com/orangepione/Debian_stretch_next.7z It won't boot It starts up , w. both Orange & Green leds on lan , then i can see it requests a dhcp address , and it gets one (req/offer runs many times), then nothing happens after that. Just - Green light blinks on lan , Orange is unlit. I tried to write (linux dd) it on 2 different SD-cards , a 8GB Intenso , and also a 16GB Sandisk - same behaviour. I grabbed the latest Jessie from the archive , and wrote it to the Intenso 8GB , and it booted fine w. jessie. I don't mind…

Hi, I am having a hard time getting Armbian to boot on my Cubietruck. I have recorded some serial output but it does not show anything helpfull (at least for me). It just stopps at "Starting kernel". Verbosity is set to 7. Serial output 21.02.3 https://pastebin.com/DMWRzTgn Serial output 21.02.1 https://pastebin.com/a9Hasywc I tried the same SD-card and power supply with Arch for ARM. Arch boots fine. Serial output Arch Linux: https://pastebin.com/bMPf3gfx What further options do I have to debug this? As I am not really familiar with Arch I'd rather run a Debian / Ubuntu based OS. Hello, I am going to make a project using OrangePi (most likely OrangePi Lite, but could be other model) with a camera. So, there is my supplication, for someone to make a test and check HOW MANY pictures (let's say 640x480) can the camera take PER ONE SECOND (working continuously, in a loop)? I am interested in both types of cameras: a USB webcam and OrangePi CAM module. And it's about taking pictures, not a movie. By the way - it is possible to take pictures into RAM? I mean not writing it to SD card. It would improve performance :-) Thanks to everyone in advance!

Hi again guys, I buy some usb wireless boards to connect to the GPIO with the UART Pines, but in the especifications of the GPIO, only i see 1: Has you can see only GPIO 14 and 15 have TXD and RXD... I will use too the SPI to add other ethernet so... its possible use other GPIO for TXD and RXD?? In my Pixhawk (board for drones) i use I2C for monitoring stats via wireless (2.4Ghz), maybe this pines can work for usb wireless. If is possible, how can i program other pines for that? will be any diference? (more slow or more cpu resources or whatever?) Thanks like always!

Hi, currently my small server is running under Armbian 5.16 on Orange Pi Plus 2 board. It is using eMMC as root fs. I am expecting to get Orange Pi Plus 2E to be delivered shortly. The question is if following procedure will be OK to migrate server between boards: before: stop services etc. 1. insert SD card (16GB) when system is running. eMMC is visible as /dev/mmcblk0, SD card will appear as /dev/mmcblk1. 2. use nand-sata-install to copy system to SD Card. 3. mount /dev/mmcblk1 under some mount point, for example /mnt 4. verify, if /mnt/etc/fstab is valid: /dev/mmcblk0p1 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 5. modify lin…

Hello all. I'm having a banana Pi and two days ago I had bananian OS on it. Now after searching online I decided to install armbian because it seems the most updated and more user-friendly one. One of the things that I want to do with my Pi, is to create an AP and connect other devices to it. So I read the documentation that is online from armbian site that refers on A. Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/4cYv Hi I'm trying (and failing miserably) to achieve a simple goal with my Orange Pi 3 LTS: to have pin PD15 set as 'output-high' on startup. I've been playing around with my orange pi pc for a while now, not really wanting to spend much time on it (family, children, work, you know the story) or dig into details, and did not find any PnP distro that was 100% satisfactory (always something missing, unstable,...), until I gave a try to armbian. Hi all, I upgraded my jessie 5.05 desktop version for Orange Pi PC via "apt-get upgrade" to 5.10 without any issues. Now I noticed that the green status LED blinks twice every ~0.5s after first reboot. Can anyone figure out the meaning of this?? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I'm trying to change the setup I have running on a pi pc to my new pi pc2 running latest version of nightly (at least latest version of the packages) Every kernel version I tried does include the w1-gpio and w1_therm but it's missing the w1-sunxi that's required for it to work. Is it missing from the kernel or am I the one missing something?

Hi Forum, My CT with "Armbian_5.14_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_4.6.2" image doesn't shut down. Neither short push of power button nor shutdown -P (issued as root) doesn't really power off the board. The red LED is lightning and the display is ON, it halts after reporting "Reached Target Shutdown". The board is OK, for a long push of PB it powers off and with a Cubieez image it shuts down well. Has anyone seen this issue? What to do with it? Thanks, T
