  2. I have a encrypted external hard drive connected via USB. I want to be able to automatically access it after boot so I made a keyfile that I put in /etc/crypttab. After updating the crypttab file I ran update-initramfs -u. But after reboot the drive is still locked. Why is this? I suspect it might be because of the order of things at boot. Maybe crypttab is called before the USB device is initialized? Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I had a incorrect crypttab that's why it didn't mount. It works now thanks!

I got that stability issues on my banana pi m1, and notice that the last kernel available on armbian still the 4.14.18. Today I also run apt upgrade on raspberry pi 3 and it installed the kernel 4.14.30 that stop the ipsec vpn working, the same as in 4.14.18 used on armbian. I feel some frustration on the latest kernel updates, and wondering if anyone have some info about the next kernel update that solve this issues. Do you advise me to change to nightly builds to get a new kernel to test? สมัครufabet Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Started by erazor,

Hi there, I got some NanoPi-NEO running and need to update the kernel, modules and dtb's. With 4.18 the Ethernet does not seem to get started correctly. I noticed a change in u-boot and the newer Armbian releases have Ethernet-Support in u-boot. So my basic idea is to not just copy the kernel files but also update u-boot via dd command. I suppose there are at least 3 regions in the image: 1. the partition table which I don't want to change. 2. the u-boot configuration which I'd like to keep. 3. the u-boot runtime. So for #2 and #3 I'll need an image file. I'm trying to set-up a build environment f…

  11. Hello, in the company where I work, a nanopi M1 plus was purchased and we are developing a firmware to run on the device. In our code we need to change the settings of the active wired connection at that time, but we can not do it due to an error. Error: failed to modify connection 'Ifupdown (eth0)': Connection is read-only The command is executed correctly if the connection is not managed by NetworkManager, so when in the file: "NetworkManager.conf" the "managed" parameter is set to false. Hi there, I've just got my first H3 board (OPi Zero +2) and I'm interested in learning how boot process works in detail, with a focus on Security ID features. As far I can see there's not that much documentation about S/NBROM (essentially linux-sunxi's Wiki and Allwinner-info git repo) and what's supposed to be H3's NBROM (header 1100, 1100, 1633) looks like slightly different from A10's one (from git) at first glance. Is there anyone here who has already worked on it and/or has info/symbols/pseudocode/whatever might speed up the reversing process? Thank you!

  15. I have an Orange Pi PC Plus running the mainline Debian Stretch desktop version of Armbian, but lately I've been using it headless. When I'm logged in over ssh and shutdown it down using "sudo shutdown -h now", the ssh connection drops and the board's LED flashes then shuts off, giving every indication the board is off. However, power consumption doubles (increasing from ~1.2W to ~2.4 W)! The problem persists as long as the board is powered, so I presume the board is hung and never fully shutdown. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the board to hang when shutting down?

  19. Hi, My applications were running from eMMC when I used Kernel 3.4.113 and Orange Pi PC Plus purchased 6 months back. But on my last week purchase, armbian-config of 3.4.113 does not detect eMMC of Orange Pi PC Plus. I am told by Xunlong to use the latest kernel. This will result in huge development efforts. Are there any patches that can be applied to 3.4.113 to use my same application on latest PCB? Thanks

So, I built the needed support for g_serial in kernel and give a try, but I cannot make it work The host PC detects just nothing, as the OpiPC2 does not detect a USB host being connected to it Checking the dmesg I see something suspicious: [ 0.614423] sun4i-usb-phy…

  45. Hi, I have 3 Orange Pi Zero running with the same sd image. It's all working fine, but yesterday I added a fourth device, which for some reason took a MAC address that is the same of another device, causing issues on the connection for both of them. I'm using the mainline kernel ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi. Searching on the internet, I found someone saying that mac addresses for Orange Pis are randomly generated every time the device reboots, but in my case the taken MAC address is always the same for every device. I saw to that people suggested to check the content of the /etc/modprobe.d/8189fs.conf f…

Hi, I'm tring to solve an issue on my Orange Pi Zero: at boot time the pins PA18 and PA19 are stucked to Vcc. I tried a lot of solution, now the best result is to add at the beginning of the file boot.cmd the command to clear the gpio configuration: gpio clear PA18 gpio clear PA19 and recompile the boot.scr. Despite this the pins goes HIGH for some seconds until the bootloader reach this line. What is the boot scheme? Why i get this pin HIGH? Is it because the I2C1 is configured? Is it possible to disable it? Thanks Simone

  75. So trying to run some GPIO interrupts using wiringpi. Using the wiringPiISR function and setting and interrupt handler seems to work, but as soon as the first interrupt happens, the handler gets stuck in some sort of loop and just get infinitely called. Pretty sure this is some bug in sys, since the wiringPiISR function just uses sys gpio calls to do the interrupts. Could be wrong and just be an issue with how wiringPi does it. Either way has anyone come across this and know of a workaround to fix this?

  90. Hi, I'm running Armbian Stretch with the 4.14.y kernel on my Orange Pi Zero, as a headless Samba server. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how i can add a GPIO button to run the shutdown command, so I don't have to SSH into it every time I want to shut the thing down? thanks.

  92. So I have an application which requires 1Mbps UART and wasted a few days trying to debug my board thinking that was the issue (was working perfect at 115kps), so I decided to scope the UART TX from the orangpi, and of course that signal was not actually working at 1Mbps. Scope is saying that its running at 750Kbps. Did some research and it looks like there is some sort of UART scaling frequency set in the driver, which excludes certain bitrates from running (check here https://github.com/jernejsk/linux/blob/master/drivers/tty/serial/sunxi-uart.c#L356-L381 ) Did some further tests and 460Kbps works fine as well as 1.5Mbps (so its not an issue w…

  93. Hello. I want to test wireguard with the bionic nightlies on my OrangePi Plus 2e, but I'm unable to install the correct linux headers. In armbian-config, it show the "loading kernel modules" and the installing screen 2 times for a second, then goes back to the main screen. If I want to install with "sudo apt install linux-headers, it shows these possible options: linux-headers-udoo 5.52.180715 linux-headers-sun8i 5.52.180715 linux-headers-sun7i 5.52.180715 linux-headers-rockchip 5.50.180630 linux-headers-odroidxu4 5.52.180715 linux-headers-odroidc1 5.52.180715 linux-headers-next-udoo 5.52.180715 linux-headers-mvebu 5.52.1…

  94. Started by pbies,

I have simple Banana Pi. I have Armbian on it installed on Feb this year. I can see in Changelog that there were no kernel updates for this (A20) board. Will there be any kernel updates? And when?

  95. Hi! I successfully set up a headless web server using an Orange Pi PC, and Armbian Stretch (mainline kernel 4.14.y). I installed MySQL, PHP 7, and a custom web application built with Symfony. It is running better than I expected (faster than my local XAMPP). However, I was wondering if it could handle 35-45 visitors/users connected at the same time or not? Thanks!

  96. Hello, I've purchased a 2e recently, in order to replace a RPI3 with a more powerful device (and get graphics acceleration, be able to watch youtube videos, etc). I've tested multiple builds, and even on the legacy kernel, there is just no way to get it to work properly. The board, when it sits completely idle, is between 48 and 52°. And if I move a window on the desktop, it's all laggy and the cpu jumps to 60+° --the same with a mainlain image in fact, in headless mode... frequently the console would freeze for a couple seconds while the temperature is very high for no reason. It seems there is no hardware graphics acceleration, ever. Curr…

  97. Hi, Got Debian (8) legacy 3.4.113 server/console and would like to setup a WiFi hotspot. (latest Armbian build 5.51) Seen two methods in Armbian docs 1. -> https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Advanced-Features/#how-to-set-wireless-access-point and via armbian_config in https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Armbian-Config/ 2. -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__BJtInOQFY So I'm a bit buffled about it. Got some questions Got a RTL8188CUS is it suported nowadays? or should I get a specific other one? Do I need to have internet/ethernet/lan connection active during the hotspot creation via armbian_c…

  99. Started by John,

Hi I am very new to computers. I have a raspberry pi 3 and just bought a orange pi one. My problem is I am unable to download an operating system to my working raspberry to burn to an sd card to be able to use the orange because the raspberry doesn't have enough space on my memory card. Do any of you know a company or person that could sell me an o/s that is already on a card for the orange, I have been hunting for ages for a site that sells something like noops for the raspberry. I have read that armbian edge might be the right choice if i can get it. Any help appreciated.

  100. Hello to everyone! I am trying to configure dual boot using u-boot. But I've got some misunderstandings, maybe someone will help me with that problem. When I'm booting from SD card everything works fine: rootdev=/dev/mmcblk0p1 (armbianEnv.txt) or rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX in both cases. When I'm booting form eMMC something goes wrong: I can not set rootdev=/dev/mmcblk1p1 cause in this case I've only error message: But if I'm setting as rootdev=UUID=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX everything works fine. Maybe it is bad way to use /dev/..., but I need it. So, I tried a lot …
