  2. Hello :), I have updated my system from "Armbian_5.35_Debian_jessie_3.4.113" to latest "Armbian_5.53.180722_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.17.9". With jessie there will only S0, S1, S2 displayed and Im Working with S1 (Uart1) and S2 (Uart2) from the 13 Pinheader. With Bionic and also Stretch i got S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7 and none of them is working. So how can I access the Uart1 and Uart2 with the new Bionic build?

OK, folks, I have I2C working for Luma.OLED, but now I'm trying an SPI display (SSD1331) and having some issues. I modified OPi.GPIO pin mappings as follows (see below), but I'm wondering if my SPI configuration is correct. I'm using overlays=spi-spidev and param_spidev_spi_bus=1, but I'm wondering if I should also be using CS1 configuration as well since I'm using SPI bus 1 (bus 0 is reserved for flash). i.e. param_spidev_spi_cs=1 and overlays=spi-add-cs1. I only ask this because the Luma.OLED instructions say "Because CS is connected to CE0, the display is available on SPI port 0. You can connect it to CE1 to have it available on port 1. If so, pass port=1 in your seria…

  4. Hi, I have flashed Armbian_5.35_Orangepilite_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop.img - and it works fine with my Orange Pi Lite v.1.1 But if I flash Armbian_5.38_Orangepilite_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.img which is aslo supported, the device does not boot. At least I get no output on HDMI, and no serial console over OTG. So I cannot check if it does not boot at all, or dies somewhere in the middle How can I check why it does not boot?

  6. Started by Draghtnod,

Greetings, i want to run some shaders on a headless OrangePI Zero (H2+/Mali 400 running standard Armbian on mainline kernel). I saw there are drivers available now. Is there a binary blob of the driver available somewhere? Or maybe a simple HOWTO? I don't want to mess with driver compilation if I don't have to. I just want to run my shaders on that GPU.

  7. Hi Guys, I wanted a debian stretch based OS, and I followed Olimex consideration on Armbian. The I visited the Page of Lime2( not nand or emmc): https://www.armbian.com/olimex-lime-2/ The stretch Image that is there...is configured to boot from emmc :( I want a debian stretch based version. 8. There appears to be a problem or incompatibility with the new 2018.05 u-boot configuration and/or implementation and the Armbian sunxi-next startup scripts (both in the current master branch). The "fdt" command processing doesn't appear to properly expand local environment variables before trying to execute them (?). Here's an example from a vanilla Armbian boot (u-boot 2018.05) - notice the "libfdt fdt_path_offset() returned FDT_ERR_NOTFOUND" errors when the DT fixup script runs: ... 9. Hi, every one: I installed Armbian Xenial desktop legacy kernel 3.10.y on my OPI win plus , it's good. (At least, Bluetooth, WIFI and Ethernet are good). But after i execute "apt upgrade",The bluetooth is fault. So, I tried to freeze the kernel upgrades, and hold "armbian-firmware"package, then run "apt upgrade", All do not work. However, when i insert a BT-dongle(USB), this dongle is functional. So I think there is a bug in some package, please help me to solve.

  10. I'm pretty new to Linux, so it could just be me doing something wrong, but I downloaded Armbian_5.34.171121_Orangepiplus2e_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.14_desktop.img, put it on an SD card, and load it in the orange pi. The legacy installs fine but not this version. I cannot get SPI working on my Nanopi Duo or rather there is no /dev/spi*. I build a custom Kernel with the build process and Network and other stuff works. Loading the spi-spidev overlay in various ways did not help. (Loading via U-Boot, during runtime, combine the overlay and devicetree and compile it as whole) By the way, the Images from https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-duo/ are not even booting through U-Boot for me. 12. Started by rufik,

I have OPI 2 running latest armbian mainline with MQTT broker and home assistant only. And I've started to experience hard freezes that only power re-plug helps :/ At first I thought that only networking was gone, but I've triggered hearbeat on red onboard led and this led is just stopping blinking on freezes. I've even got rid of Network Manager and setup iface in old good way via /etc/networking/interfaces. Then I've connected to serial console, run minicom in screen with logging to file. Just to see if serial console would show some kernel panic or so...but nothing, no output on serial console. Anyone experienced such behaviour? How to debug it? My sec…

  13. Hello, I've purchased a 2e recently, in order to replace a RPI3 with a more powerful device (and get graphics acceleration, be able to watch youtube videos, etc). I've tested multiple builds, and even on the legacy kernel, there is just no way to get it to work properly. The board, when it sits completely idle, is between 48 and 52°. And if I move a window on the desktop, it's all laggy and the cpu jumps to 60+° --the same with a mainlain image in fact, in headless mode... frequently the console would freeze for a couple seconds while the temperature is very high for no reason. It seems there is no hardware graphics acceleration, ever. Curr…

  17. I have a rev 1.4 Orange Pi Zero that overheats. I've confirmed this by touch and know it's a known problem. On the legacy kernel, setting CPU to 800 Mhz and RAM to 300 Mhz used to keep things cool. (e.g. "sudo h3consumption -m 800"). h3consumption doesn't exist on 4.14 kernels, so how do I underclock?

  20. So I have an application which requires 1Mbps UART and wasted a few days trying to debug my board thinking that was the issue (was working perfect at 115kps), so I decided to scope the UART TX from the orangpi, and of course that signal was not actually working at 1Mbps. Scope is saying that its running at 750Kbps. Did some research and it looks like there is some sort of UART scaling frequency set in the driver, which excludes certain bitrates from running (check here https://github.com/jernejsk/linux/blob/master/drivers/tty/serial/sunxi-uart.c#L356-L381 ) Did some further tests and 460Kbps works fine as well as 1.5Mbps (so its not an issue w…

  23. Hi Srs! I have problem in using Armbian 14 with orange pi zero .. I already used the Armbian system in my OrangepiZero. However, I reinstalled everything again and downloaded the latest version of the operating system here on the site. When I try to use onboard audio (both capture and output) does not work. Hi I am very new to computers. I have a raspberry pi 3 and just bought a orange pi one. My problem is I am unable to download an operating system to my working raspberry to burn to an sd card to be able to use the orange because the raspberry doesn't have enough space on my memory card. Do any of you know a company or person that could sell me an o/s that is already on a card for the orange, I have been hunting for ages for a site that sells something like noops for the raspberry. I have read that armbian edge might be the right choice if i can get it. Any help appreciated.

My use case: Stream mkv on local with subs or transcode if it can't show subs. Board: Orange Pi Pc OS: Debian Stretch on 4.14.18 Would appreciate any feedback even if it's only a link to your preferred software / guide.

  48. Board OrangePi+2E, Debian on SD was configured/tested, then nand-instaled to eMMC. Worked as Nextcloud headless server like a charm for more than year (thanks Armbian once again), but suddenly got stuck in boot with quite strange simptoms (read on attacched for exploration HDMI): couple of "sunxi_i2c_do_xfer incomplete xfer" errors /swap creation takes ~100 seconds then complete hang on Ethernet init The only thing I can suspect is some corruption in filesystem(s) on eMMC, but I see no chance to investigate this further as boot from it hangs completely. Fresh SD with mainline Debian boots and works with no issues, so the rest of the …

  49. Hi: I want to add "nowayout" watch dog parameter to my orange pi pc. I think the syntax should be "sunxi_wdt.nowayout=1". but I don't know how to add this to kernel boot parameter in armbian? is there a config file to add boot parameter? BTW I found if I shut down my orange pi PC normally, I can not restart it unless I unplug/plug the power cord. is this behavior expected? thanks a lot for help!!

Hi @all, I currently try to build a door-opener with a NanoPi Neo and a MFRC522 Rfid-Module. Unfortunately I don't get the SPI working. I loaded the newest Armbian-Debian from the Website: uname -r = 4.14.18-sunxi and downloaded the SPI-library for NanoPi: https://github.com/wertyzp/WiringNP By using armbian-config I activated "pwm", "sei-add-cs1", "spi-jedec-nor" and "spi-spidev". The problem: If I try to activate SPI with gpio load spi I get the following error-message: modprobe: FATAL: Module spi-sun7i not found in directory /lib/modules/4.14.18-sunxi gpio: Unable to load spi-sun7i So it seems that wiringNp d…

  51. Hello everybody! Can I read data from the RFID-MFRC522 module with my NanoPi, if so, tell me what python libraries are in Armbian or will it be necessary to install an official ROM and work through RPi.GPIO?

  52. Hi, I'd like to keep the features provided in AX but have my OPi Lite starting and running some software that communicates with a webserver periodically over the internet without the monitor, keyboard and mouse connected unless performing maintenance where remote access isn't appropriate. Is this possible or am I looking at an Armbian Bionic (unsupported) installation?

Can you power an Orange Pi Zero or Orange Pi One from the 26/40 pin header ? I am pretty sure the answer is yes as the OPI Zero expansion board has a power jack. But is there any information regarding how to do this ? Do you feed the +5v or the +3.3v Is it the same for all of the RPI compatible headers ?

I have been using this orangepi for several years now. Today SSH stopped working (it would hang indefinitely after password prompt) so I decided to restart it by removing and re-plugging the psu cable. After that it never appeared on the network again. 1) the board lights up: green / orange light on ethernet, and one green light on MB that turns on for ~25sec then turns off for ~10sec 2) I connected it to two switches with multiple cables, none of them show the ethernet port as active (no light on the switch port) Obviously due to 2) it doesn't appear on the router 3) microsd mounts fine on my pc, did a backup and flashed a clean image to no avail, wil…

  57. Hi, I just installed the Armbian_5.35_Orangepilite_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop.img on my 32GB SD card for my new OPi Lite. On start-up the screen res overlaps the monitor a the top and bottom and the screen text is thin, fuzzy and illegible in places. I can see from the Fine Tuning section of the Armbian documentation and a post by tkaiser that the h3disp utility can be used to modify the script.bin file to permanently update the start-up screen res. I have a NEC MultiSync LCD1830 that's optimal res is 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz to 76 Hz so naturally I'm trying set this resolution. The monitor is connected to the Opi Lite via a VGA to HDMI adaptor. I can confirm that I was able to compile Dual DHCP DNS Server on the Orange Pi Zero Plus board by using the instructions for 64 bit Linux as given in the Dual DHCP DNS Server manual (in the download). The project is hosted on Source Forge https://sourceforge.net/projects/dhcp-dns-server/ This is a very lightweight but powerful DHCP/DNS server for Windows and Linux. I currently am running a primary server on Windows and a secondary on the Orange Pi. My current OS is ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS 4.14.48-sunxi64. So I have the OPi PC and I purchased this 7" HDMI USB touch screen Now, I've plugged it all in and the screen worked fine right out of the box but the touch did not. I've verified it's working by plugging it into my desktop and everything worked great. I can only assume that it's not working due to a lack of drivers. The screen came with a CD that contained the screen drivers but not the touch drivers. It also came with a handful of RPi distros with the drivers preinstalled. But nothing for OPi Can anyone offer some suggestions?

  95. Hello everybody. AFAIK Banana PI M1+ share the same costumed Armbian OS with Banana Pro. The Armbian can run pretty well without any changes on my Banana Pro. The problem is, with the same OS image, the on-board WiFi is not working and i can't remember what im doing (what i remember is I do something inside /boot directory), then the WiFi is detected and working properly on my Banana Pi M1+. My simple question is What is the right way to configure Armbian for Banana Pi M1+ after installation? I assume all the default configuration is for Banana Pro and we need some tweak for Banana Pi M1+ especially to enable on-board WiFi and to use GPIO properly.
