  1. Hello, I'm testing the latest (kernel 4.5) jessie server vanilla on a Olimex Lime2. If a battery is connected to the board and the power plugged in, the board start by itself ! I would like to change this behavior, is there any file to tweak ? Thanks

  2. Was playing around with a well tuned system, wanted to upgrade my kernel - but seem to have broken something. I was on 5.37 - manually upgraded to stretch and everything was working quite well. Today tried upgrading my kernel, and was playing around with `armbian-config` to switch kernels, but didn't go so well. After a reboot had no network. Plugged in the serial console, and was greeted with the following. pi@orangepione:~$ uname -a Linux orangepione 4.11.12-sun8i #2 SMP Wed Nov 22 13:50:32 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux pi@orangepione:~$ dpkg-query -W -f='${Version}\n' linux-stretch-root-orangepione dpkg-query: no packages found matching linux…

Greetings, Some time ago, I built armbian with kernel 5.4.51. I applied a patch to two dts files that allowed for the OV5640 camera to work. By "work", I mean /dev/video0 was present in the system and /dev/media0 was also present. I could set camera parameters with media-ctl pointing to /dev/media0. Now, I've updated, and using a legacy kernel, 5.4.65, I cannot reproduce this. I've applied the same dts changes, but upon booting this image /dev/media0 is missing. I've compared the two kernel configurations, and there are very minimal differences: # diff config-5.4.51-sunxi /boot/config-5.4.65-sunxi 3c3 < # Linux/arm 5.4…

  12. Hi. I've got a Orange Pi Win Plus flashed with armbian, everything is running great, except the bluetooth module. I have everything installed, but blueman keeps telling me that no adapters are found. I've checked if the bluetooth adapters were on with the command 'armbian-config', as well as trying to stop and restart it with '/etc/init.d/bluetooth stop and start'. I start to feel like it won't work on linux, because I've already tried debian and ubuntu from the orangepi downloads page and the bluetooth didn't work too. I don't want to run Android just because of this issue. Any ideas?

  13. Hi, I just acquired a couple of OrangePi zero's with the H2+ SoC and 512MB Ram. I could not succeed at all in installing any distro, I even tried all the distros on the orangePi website. My strategy is to run the OPi headless, only connected to the ethernet cable, so no display at all. The symptons were always the same once powered (with a 1.2Amp phone charger) the OPi would start the blinking ethernet leds, on my router there was a new IP on the Lan but th…

  16. Hello, since the build for OrangePi Plus 2 is only community maintained (and there is a warning during installation that this build is not suitable for production), I though of using some generic image or a image for a similar board with standard support. Hi There, I hope I posted this in the correct forum. We run a lot of distros on a given "disk" or "sdcard" (or whatever). We call our system "Boot-Crazy". Here goes: The partition starts with a small boot partition containing the initial boot parameters, configuration, and a pointer to the partition holding the root file system we want to boot. The boot partition is followed by some number of other partitions, like this: [bOOT]-[sWAP]-[COMMON]-[COPYOF-DISTO-1-BOOT]-[DISTO-1-ROOT-FILE-SYSTEM]-[COPYOF-DISTO-2-BOOT]-[DISTO-2-ROOT-FILE-SYSTEM]... As i understand, according to driver (cpufreq-dt): /etc/default/cpufrequtils is a bit less restrictive: Is this a driver limitation ? I have been downloading and burning different images, reformatting / trying different SD cards, 2 power supplies, using DD, WIn32DiskImager, Rufus, scanning my SD using F3, etc lots of "pain". Hey, I am currently trying to get sending IR commands from my CubieTruck working. I am using Igors Armbian_4.2_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_3.4.108 image. But it seems like the modules are not initialised in a way that they also can send since irsend returns errors that this device does not support sending. I tried it with the hardware.conf from the image aswell as with the hardware.conf and init.d file from https://github.com/matzrh/sunxi-lirc/wiki. Apparently, I have to do "echo $GPIO-Number > /sys/class/lirc_gpio/tx_gpio_pin" which I did with the right pin so in theory, the driver should be set up the way it is supposed to be. Yet still irsend throws errors. Ca…

(it used to have an old Armbian Ubuntu with 3.x kernel before) Common settings (background image, GTK theme, icons, panel) are there on logout but are not saved on reboot. I saved a text file in the home user folder, it's OK. With another common user I face the same problem, with the root account settings are saved. My Linux knowledge is average, I really don't know what's wrong. Thank you Mathieu

  64. Hi! Happy new year! Recently, I experienced a strange date problem on my Cubitruck. After a reboot or a powerdown/powerup the date is set to Jan, 1 1970 00:00:00 UTC (aka epoch). 89. Hello! Since I upgraded to 5.35 on my OPI PC Plus the connected TV-Screen (direct via HDMI Cable) ist purple. An upgrade zu 5.36 has the same problem. When I connect the OPI to a Standard PC Monitor via HDMI there is all ok. It would be nice if there has anyone a solution for this.. thanks SOLUTION: I downloaded a new version of 5.35 and upgraded to 5.36 Then I copied the files in /boot of the SD-Card (New One) to the /boot of the OLD system on EMMC - and it works

  91. I have a rtl2838 based DVB-T dongle which was working beautifully under 3.4.112 on my cubietruck. I upgraded a couple of days ago and now I don't get any video data, although the dongle is still recognised. I see 113 includes a fat patch to the rtl2832 driver. Is there some way I can back that out, or a safe way to go back to 112?

I've got a new problem with my Olimex A20 Lime2 board. The board doesn't freeze anymore (http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/295-freezing-problem-with-olimex-a20-lime-2/) but after a week I've got a very slow speed using samba: about 300 kbps. I've tried to restart the smbd service but it doesn't work. The smbd process don't use cpu: < 5 %. If I restart completely the board, samba start to works again very fast and use the cpu: > 50%. How can I discover where is the problem and how to fix it? I'm using Debian jessie 4.2.6-sunxi, and there are no more updates.

Hi, I have been using the Aruntu 2.0 desktop for CubieTruck on my sailboat mainly to run an OpenSource charting program called OpenCPN. On Aruntu I was able to compile from source and it worked well. Aruntu is no longer supported, so I am trying to switch to ArmBian. I can compile on ArmBian, but OpenGLES is not found, so the program defaults to software OpenGL which is very slow. How can I install OpenGLES support, in order to use the hardware video accelleration ? Thanks, JM.

  100. Hello. I have an OPi +2e, with Ubuntu 16.04 and legacy kernel 3.4.113-sun8i. I tried to install Nextcloud via a Snap package, but got this error: error: cannot perform the following tasks: - Run configure hook of "nextcloud" snap if present (run hook "configure": cannot open mount namespace of the init process (O_PATH): No such file or directory) I googled for the message, and found out that there are some bits needed in the kernel, for Snap to work (see https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/nextcloud-snap-install/2674/3 ). Has anybody got this to work? Maybe with mainline kernel?
