  7. TKaiser. If you install the Desktop version of Armbian 5.10 then the following list of codecs (containing h.265 with 8 bit but not 10 bit!) is available for HW accelerated decoding: http://linux-sunxi.o...ed_codec_matrix Is 8 Bit versus 10 Bit a limitation. Can the Orange Pi PC with Armbian 1.10 decode all HEVC 8 or 10 bit encoding to 8 bit decoding, or can it ONLY do 8bit encoded to 8 bit decoding? Seasalt

  8. Hi, currently my small server is running under Armbian 5.16 on Orange Pi Plus 2 board. It is using eMMC as root fs. I am expecting to get Orange Pi Plus 2E to be delivered shortly. The question is if following procedure will be OK to migrate server between boards: before: stop services etc. 1. insert SD card (16GB) when system is running. eMMC is visible as /dev/mmcblk0, SD card will appear as /dev/mmcblk1. 2. use nand-sata-install to copy system to SD Card. 3. mount /dev/mmcblk1 under some mount point, for example /mnt 4. verify, if /mnt/etc/fstab is valid: /dev/mmcblk0p1 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-ro 0 1 5. modify lin…

  12. Hi, I have problems with the versions "Armbian 5.25 Orangepizero Debian jessie default" and 5.26. When i install Nginx, the directory "nginx" is created in /var/log/. After a "reboot" the directory is then "disappeared", not possible to start Nginx. I can create the folder with error.log and access.log and restart Nginx. After this, it runs. After a reboot again, nginx is missig again... Any hints? The same happens with 5.25 and 5.26 on OrangePiOne, so far tested... I thing i'm not the only one with this problem. I have used in the past 1-wire probes for temperature, and the process included decompiling, editing and recompiling dtb for my Banana Pi M1, which was not easy at all. 30. I'm trying to use 1080p60 with a DVI-HDMI cable on an Orange Pi One so I run h3disp -m 1080p60 -d and restart. Monitor shows randomly moving white lines on both sides of the display (probably the console text all garbled) for a few seconds then goes to sleep. Tried with a TV (using an HDMI-HDMI cable) and it cycles between Unsupported Mode and No Signal. 1080p without the DVI flag works on the TV but the monitor doesn't even come out of sleep with it. Other resolutions seem to work fine with the DVI flag on the monitor, including 720p and 1080i. The monitor also works fine with a 1080p output from a PC. Unfortunately the given driver (http://kedei.net/raspberry/raspberry.html) doesn't work with Armbian. Is there support in Armbian for this new (may 2016) LCD touchscreen or do I have to (re)compile the kernel myself? (not knowing where to begin...) Regards, Don

  54. Hi, I'm Olivier, french engineer, and i have bought an orangepi plus card in april. I use linux (x86) since 1994 Sorry for my bad english ... I was happy to find Armbian because linux images provided by xunlong have many security problems (example / and all system directory aren't owned by root but by orangepi user). Thank for your work on Armbian. My Orangepi + has been installed with a 5.10 armbian image (Armbian_5.10_Orangepiplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112) and run perfectly. I wanted upgrade to 5.20 and since the card doesn't boot anymore. I can boot with the native android on NAND memory but I can't boot on SDcard. When I boot on sdcard, only gr…

Hi specialists, I'm trying to understand how the axp209 on Banana Pi works with the A20. In the Banana Pi schematics I see, that they are connected with only four lines. Two lines are used for I²C (TWSI), one is from axp209 PWROK to RESET# of A20 and another one is connected from axp209 IRQ and GPIO2 to NMI# of A20. When system is off and I press my Power Button (K1) on the Pi, the system is booting. System is running and I long press the Power Button, System shuts down. But can anyone say whats happening? What does axp209 do with IRQ, GPIO2 and PWROK pins? Wich way does the A20 recognize, that it has to shutdown? Yours Martin

Looking for any means of finding a unique and permanent MAC address for opilites. Is there some kind of serial number or other unique number of any kind in an H3 SOC or in something on an OPI Lite board that could be used to derive a MAC ? As things currently are I either have to manually setup the mac for each board I build - in a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d or live with the fact that the board comes up with a new mac/ip with every boot.

  58. I encountered a strange problem and I do not know what to do: When I am restarting my OPI with inserted USB audio card, then LIRC does not work. When I am restarting my OPI without inserted USB card and this USB card I put only later after a restart, then LIRC works. Can anyone advise how to proceed? I need to insert USB audio card permanently (it's inside the device).

  59. I just recently acquired a few Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 boards. I need to get them working for a Bluetooth application. After a somewhat rough start with the WiFi they appear to be running smoothly now. The first problem I am noticing is that sata-nand-install does not exist on the distribution for the H5. Can anyone shed some light on what is necessary to get these boards to boot from eMMC? Is there anyone currently working on this problem? If not, what is the correct version of that script that I should download to begin trying to port it, and what utilities will I need to adapt to make it happen? Any advice on how to begin? The sytem acted a bit wierd, so I rebooted it. Since the moment, the server did not launch, rebooting itself again and again. I edited boot script to get more informations, and this is the moment, where the sytem gets stucked before it reboots (I have panic set to 180, so this screen is visible for around 3 mins). Banana pi M1 armbian 5.14 installed on SDcard and HDD This is not PSU error, since other distros are running smoothly. This is not SDcard error, since I dded this SDcard to another and tested it.

  61. My newly received Orange PI Plus 2 gets stuck in a reboot loop, if I try to boot headless (no USB, no HDMI; UART is connected to see boot messages). Is such a problem known here? I have the same issue with some other linux images from other distributions, but hope to find some experience here. In detail: Power supply: Regulated Power Supply set to approx 5.2V (max 2A, built-in analog amperemeter shows max 1.4A during boot). No cables connected except power supply and UART I tried various SD-Cards (8GB or 64GB SDHC) --> The Orange PI Plus 2 boots till USB initialization and then reboots (sometimes it freezes). …

My OrangePi PC boots fine and ok. When I open a terminal and try to do a "sudo this that" it asks my password and won't accept the one I gave, nor 1234. I've done the full installation a couple of times and same problem persists. How do I rest root password? The problem is that everytime I re-install everything and I'me at the very firts log (where I enter root and 1234) the screen scrolls so that I cannot see what it is asking since my monitor is 1600x1024. What I mean with freeze: - samba shares disconnect - sometimes SSH works till the password is submitted, then it times out - sometimes http works when I hard restart it - I always see a very high temp & in some logs I had seen some weird dates, so I set to write out date & temp and I got this beauty on the next freeze: Spoiler date: Sun Sep 30 13:27:03 2018 -- temp: 41.99 date: Sun Sep 30 13:28:…

However, I'm already stuck even getting the BD drive to work with the OPi in the first place. I have the optical drive hooked to an externally powered USB 2.0 to ATA bridge (has a SATA port on it as well, this hardware config was tested in windows and worked great) and that's plugged into the single USB port on the board. 77. have there been more changes for Desktop recently except the repos? Yesterday I have updated and tried to compile, noticed that the function "fetch_from_github" was gone (replaced by "fetch_from_repo"?).
