I am running Armbian Focal with Linux 5.4.43-sunxi64 (and now downgraded to 4.19.125-sunxi64) on my Orange Pi PC 2. I use motion software to provide a "18ec:5555 Arkmicro Technologies Inc. USB2.0 PC CAMERA" to the network. I also use pjsip to provide SIP functionality for the same device as audio input. As soon as I start pjsip for some reason I get a very high load average until the kernel detectets stalled CPUs and finally the entire device crashes. This worked fine in a previous version and started after I upgraded to focal. I did a kernel backtrace and this is what I got: [ 401.002517] sysrq: Show backtrace of all active CPUs [ 401.009965] sysrq: CPU1: [ 401.01…

Hi friends, i'm new here, i found an old Orange Pi PC (V1.2) in my treasure-box and try to find a bootable image in the Orange Pi sources. But any image i tried was faulty, one time the system is starting, but not booting completely ore i have a red LED (don't boot). I tried it with a 8GB und a 32GB card. Pls, can you tell me, where i can download a running image and do you know, if a 32GB-Card ist ok? I write the img with "BelanaEtcher" on the SD-Card, same as i write it on a SD-Card für a Rasp-Pi. Thank you for any helpful answer. Stefan

Hello, at first I want to thank you for your great work Igor 2 Days ago I installed the new version 5.00 Vanilla Kernel armbian for BananaPro on my SD card. And I was so glad to finally see a working wifi for BananaPro with mainline kernel. Today I did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade. Ever since there is no more a wlan0 interface. Have tried ifconfig and iwconfig. It seems to be, that there was installed a new kernel image. What can we do to get it working again? Also ReleaseHistory says there is a version 5.01 but the download link for BananaPro Vanilla Jessie still leads to a version 5.00 link. Kind regards Wolf

Hello, I want to set the boot argument 'threadirq' in the /boot/boot.cmd file for kernel 4.04. I added the option and created the boot.src file described in FAQ. When I boot the system I get kernel panic, because rootfs not found. If I revert the boot.src to default, it works fine. The file looks like this: setenv bootargs console=tty1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rootwait threadirqs .... Is it possible to do it this way? Thanks, Timo

Hi to everyone, I configured Network Manager to have a local-link connection (eth0-ll) as DHCP fallback (eth0-auto). When I do the following: Connect Orange Pi in a net without DHCP, obtaining a local link address Unplug ethernet cable Plug another ethernet cable connected to a network with DHCP If step 2 and step 3 are executed rapidly, the Orange Pi doesn't detect the network switching and eth0 keeps its local-link address. When I perform such steps slowly, Orange Pi detect which ethernet cable is not plugged in and then everything works as expected. How can I increase the refresh rate of …

IPv6 is not working correctly for me although my connection information seems right, I am not able to ping6 to google.com for example. IPv4 is working fine. Is this a known bug? Or does anybody know a solution to this problem? In the pictures below you can see what error I'm getting and also my connection information.

Hello everyone, Apologies if this is not the right forum for this questions, but could not find any more appropriate one after some searching. I get an HTTP 404 when I try to access the pre-built images for the nanopi m1 plus from the board page. I know the board is EOS but for other EOS boards I can still download the images. Is there any reason why this board seems to have disappeared completely ?

I've been using a Beelink X2 with Armbian for some time now booting from eMMC. I ran an "apt update; apt upgrade" on the box early on 01/14/2018 and a reboot was suggested at the end. The system did not successfully reboot after this update and it appears that it doesn't recognize uboot on the eMMC. At the time I had other pressing matters so I set it aside to work on today. Today I downloaded the latest image Armbian_5.34.171121_BeelinkX2_Debian_stretch_next_4.13.14_desktop.img, verified it and successfully wrote the image to a 16GB microSD card. This successfully booted the X2, I then did an "apt update; apt upgrade" on the microSD card and rebooted. This then …

I have a "Banana PRO" One USB disk, 2TB with three partitions in ext4, the first partition is mounted (hdb1), the other two are not mounted. One USB disk, 4TB with a single ext4 partition mounted (hdc1). One SATA SSD disk with a single ext4 partition unmounted (hda1). Several aesthetic considerations: After the upgrade, reboot and login, the welcome screen and 100% battery!!! Hurrah!!! It seems that the MMC is 9% occupancy and ... oh! my hdb disk has only one partition? ah no, only reads hdb1. And the other two disks? I have two mounted partitions but only shows one. Turn off the system with the poweroff order and boot from the power button again, the battery is down to…

Hello! The same issue was solved one year ago: Module 'nls_utf8' was missing in armbian 5.3.6 (4.13.16-sunxi64) Some time ago, the absence of a module was again discovered, without which the 'mount' with option 'iocharset=utf8' fails with error. Hello ! I'm a proud owner of a Opi One which is supposed to be my media server and torrent server. I downloaded and installed Armbian, set it up, everything works great, but the only problem is video playing. I tried to run multiple videos and multiple formats (.mkv, .mp4) but the player remains black. If I go on youtube, the video plays but it's very laggy (like 10fps). What should I do ? Thank you ! Guess here is my answer, too: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1129-h265/

Hey everyone. I have an MK802 II stick, which has the A10 s.o.c, so i use the Olinuxino Lime a10 image on it. Everything works pretty much fine, except one little thing. This machine has worked fine with non-standard resolutions, like 1440x900, or 1280x1024. Now, when i turn it on, the U-boot screen appears correctly, it even shows that it set the resolution to 1440x900, and after that, the monitor says "signal out of range". Of course, it works well with a 1080p monitor, but i wanted to use this one too. Thanks!

I have just received an Orange Pi PC Plus, and am mostly happy with it. Linux orangepipcplus 4.14.18-sunxi is installed on a microSD card. There is a minor problem with IP addresses. When I first turned it on I forgot to plug in the network cable, so naturally ifconfig showed no IP address. I plugged in the cable, waited a minute, and tried again. Still no address. Maybe it's not hot-pluggable. Reboot, and I got an address. Since it was outside the range my server accepts I assigned a static address in the router, and rebooted the router. ifconfig still showed the first address, even though the router's client list showed the new …

Just stumbled upon this new board by the Friendlyarm folks. http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=197 Lots of signals exposed on the strip contacts, including Ethernet and USB, though magnetics and connectors aren't there, which makes this even more interesting to build thin appliances: you add connectors when you need them. Good! I'll probably order a couple to start playing with, but will take forever to ship over here.

Hello guys, do you know what might cause this error, it seems my "smart home" controller is not booting up anymore. In the last 2 weeks it happent again to not display any webpage while accessing it by IP, also the SSH was not working, all leds ware blinking like usually are, like there was normal activity, but it didn't respond to any request, only the ping was working, anything else was not (apache, samba, ssh). I turned it off by long-pressing the power button, it booted up, showing this warning "warning bad CRC - using default enviroment" and it passed by, showing the armbian logo and a blinking cursor, but that's it, nothing more. I was testing the orangepi PC+ armbian build 5.20 (Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop) when messing with it it seemed to have random reboots. I thought initially it was because it was lacking a heatsink or fan. So I added both and the issue persisted. Thinking maybe if I flashed to emmc it might resolve the issue it froze in emmc install and is effectively softbricked from what I can tell sadly. I also tested a second OPIPC+ but was unable to get it to boot. I tested with multiple new power cables as well.

Is there a Xenial image for NanoPi M1, or a way to “easily†build one ?. I see here https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ that there is a Xenial image for NanoPi Neo. I am asking because I would like to run HQPlayer's Network Audio Adapter on my NanoPi M1. And this doesn't run on Debian Jessie legacy as it needs libstdc++6 (>=5.2), but it does run on a NanoPi Neo with Xenial. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Hi Igor, hi all, I use a BPi M1 and today I tested Igor's debian wheezy 4.1.2 image. It works really great. Thanks a lot. As mentioned in the FAQ I had a look at /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils. As written there it is possible to change the frequencies. The possible values are stored in "scaling_available_frequencies". The default value for "max_speed" in Igor's image is "max_speed=1010000". But this value ist not available inside "scaling_available_frequencies". "cpufreq-info -m" tells the current policy: frequency shoukd be within 480-960 MHz. 960 MHz is the maximum value in "scaling_available_frequencies". Normally BPi is able to run at 1008 MHz. How can I change…

Hi all, I have no luck to get wifi work on NanoPi M1 with the usb dongle RLT8188CUS. I have followed the tutorial "OPI ONE wireless success" to config. But, I don't see any "wlan0" or wifi device at all with the usb dongle plugged in. "nmtui" does not detect any wifi device as well. It appears to me that, although armbian recognizes the usb dongle, armbian does not treat it as a wlan0 device. I very appreciate if anyone can give me some suggestions to diagnose and fix I am using armbian-jessie-server, kernel 3.4.113, jessie 5.23. Hi guys, I've been busting my head for days now trying to find a way how to permanently change MAC address on my ehternet on Opi Win Plus boards but nothing yielded positive outcome. The reason I need to permanently change MAC address is because I'll be running 6 of these boards on the same network and since all of them have identical MAC it's impossible for my router to manage them properly. I'm running Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.107_server with legacy kernel. I've tried changing the /etc/network/interfaces file by adding hwaddress ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx , changing from static to dhcp and doing all sorts of combinations in hopes that so…

I just got a Nanopi NEO2 512MB, installed Armbian Ubuntu Bionic. It works fine, except for the DVB-T/C stick. It is affected by Kernel 4.10+ problems. I wonder if I can downgrade to an older kernel, like 4.4.0 for example, where everything works perfectly? If yes, how? There is a patch that perhaps would resolve the problem, how could I apply this patch to an of the available releases of Armbian? This patch Please, help me with this. Many thanks!

Hi, I own the first Orange Pi (A20, VGA, HDMI, NAND, 4xUSB, WiFi). I notice there is no Armbian image for download anymore. The last one I still have is a 3.4.113, 5.25 Ubuntu/Xenial-default-desktop (currently running from the NAND very well, but I can't seem to run the wifi in AP mode). Is Armbian for this board is dropped for good ? Is there a way to update my 5.25 to last version without breaking everything ? Or maybe convert a A20 image to this board, using the working image I'm currently using ? Thanks !

I wanted to try 3.4 to see if I could build FFmpeg with the legacy Kernel. When I run any of the three (Trusty, Jessie, Wheezy) as soon as the script says starting Kernel, I get a few blue and green noise lines on the screen and then the screen disappears. I can use SSH and.the system is booting up and running. The one thing that I noticed is that when I log on, the name of the machine is LIME instead of MICRO. I'm running an Olimex Olinuxino Micro. Is there a config file that I need to tweek, or is the Kernel setup for a LIME? thanks MikeC

Hey all, I understand these things are in active development at the moment. Deferring probe [ 1.806320] sun50i-usb3-phy 5210000.phy: failed to get phy clock which from my limited experience with linux kernel seems to indicate that the device tree config may be incorrect for the board - as most searching for these errors show the code added as part of updates to get the pine64 board's usb 3.0 stack working. Hello! I'm trying to get SPI working with Armbian on Cubietruck. I am using orange pi + 2e, the distribution version of ubuntu I am currently using. How do I start my device under 2 seconds, is there a suitable linux distribution? On the device I only use the python programming language, and some image compression and sending operations are being done.I shut down units like Wireless and Ethernet,Desktop but I did not get much acceleration. What are your suggestions? How much acceleration can I record if I start the version of the armbian mainline in ram disk?

Hi, I read the docs but could not find out what to download to get a headless server. Getting Started says: "mainline: headless server, light desktop operations" In mainline there are 2 downloads for server (Debian, Ubuntu) and one for desktop (Ubuntu). I do not need a desktop, thus I do not want to waste space, RAM and CPU on anything related to it. May I ask, what to download or if there is no headless version what to do to remove the desktop-features alltogether? Thank you very much. Stephan

Hello! Can anyone help me to set up my Orange Pi one ,that I could use gpio's with node-red? I am using armbian 5.22. Recently I am trying to manage my OPi One to work with Node-Red. Today I finally set it up and was able to start Node-red. After that I tried several hours to manage GPIOs ,but nothing worked. Is there a short version how to manage gpios to get them working. So today I installed nodejs 4.xx, npm@2.x. After that I installed wiringPi from github, then I added to node-red -> npm wiring-Pi and modified settings.js , after that I tried npm -> wiring-op and still nothing. I was installing real time clock on Orange Pi One board ... , after some unsuccessful tries I found that the battery has bad solder and all is fine now date was set "up" and "down" ... from Sat Jan 1 02:06:23 EET 2000 to Thu Jul 8 21:37:42 EEST 2032 several times ... and during all this time armbianmonitor was running (I did not check it every time ... I made many reboots ) now armbianmonitor shows some "static" data , in which the time is always 0:18.50 ... and I am thinking that may be it is showing the "last" recorded , I mean the higher date/time ...which is somewhere in the future 2032... hi, having power problems with the two usb ports of my pcduino3 nano, i checked the schematics and it appears the otg port is not powered by the USB_5V rail but directly from the VCC_5V input rail, so i was hoping it would solve my problem. Unfortunately it seems the port acts as an OTG port by default and i can't find a way to restore the otg host mode as advertised in the vanilla kernel features. The documentation only details how to use various OTG modes but not how to revert it back to host. I'm using xenial vanilla image. thank you.

I recently switched from a Raspberry Pi 2 running Arch Linux to a Banana Pi (the original) running Armbian for music streaming using MPD. My output device is an XMOS-based Gustard U12 asynchronous USB transport feeding my DAC via AES/EBU. Using Armbian on the Banana Pi, all my 24-bit/192kHz music is being played back as 24/96, according to the display on the transport and DAC. All other sample rates (44.1, 88.2 etc.) are being played back in their native sample rates, as expected. Is ALSA on Armbian system-wide limited to 96 kHz? I have never had an issue like this before, and I don't know where to begin in regards to troubleshooting. I'm guessing th…

Hi, I've just wrote today's latest image for my Orange Pi PC: Armbian_21.02.1_Orangepipc_focal_current_5.10.12_desktop At first boot, I am asked to make my user and everything is fine and I end up in the XFCE desktop. All works fine. Then, I reboot the system. I see it booting and when X is starting, the screen goes blank (all black). If I do Ctrl+Alt+F1, I can log in in text mode, but X shows nothing. Thank you for your hard work on Armbian! -Alexandre

Hi, I have Cubietrauck and I installed legacy Jessie on SD card and after configuration hostapd for using it as access point only 5 devices were able to connect to my device. After search I’ve added max_num_sta=20 but it didn’t solve my problem. I tried to use other distribution like vanilla Jessie and vanilla trusty server but I had same problem. Here is my hostapd configuration: How can I change max devices connection? Is this problem relate to the wifi module and how can I fix it?

Hi All, I am working on project using Qt(IDE), C++(language) and opencv libraries. The board I am using is Olimex Olinux A64. In the project I have a GUI that displays the input from a camera and has various status indicator labels. These labels indicate various states the system is in at any particular instance of time. I load different images in the labels to indicate different states. As of now the trigger to change the image of a label comes from soft buttons written in c++ using the Qt buttons layout. I am trying to find a way to control the change of images in the labels using hardware buttons that are connected to the GPIOs of the A64 board. Cou…

I have my Orange Pi running for a while on the CLI release of Jammy with kernel version: 6.6.16. It has been working well. I was building another one up and I went to download Armbian and I noticed that OrangePiZero is community supported now (Don't think it was before?). I looked here: https://armbian.hosthatch.com/archive/orangepizero/archive/ But there is only minimal for 6.6.16, all/most others have minimal and CLI (typical, the one I want lol) Is there somewhere else I could find the CLI vers…

I'm connecting my Orange PI PC 3.5mm jack to this power amp: HiLetgo 5pcs PAM8403 2x 3W Mini Digital Power Amplifier Board AMP Class D 2.5-5V Input If I connect a 5v 2a power supply to the amp and a 3a 5v power supply to the Orange PI PC, it sounds great with no noise form the Orange PI and no distortion from the amp power supply. If I try to run the amp from the 5v pins on the Orange PI PC with the 3amp 5v supply, it will work, but there is a lot of noise from the main board and the amp does not get enough power to run properly. Hi, I just installed ARMBian on my Banana Pi M2+ (BPi-M2+) and think to do the same on my router Banana Pi R1 (BPi-R1). As the WiringPi is created for GPIOs from Raspberry Pi, I presume there are perhaps not the same on those Banana Pi boards. But I discovered there are many Wiring libraries for this GPIO use on the BPi. Does somebody give back its knowledge to know which Wiring library is the best for those two Banana Pi boards ? - WiringBP - WiringOP - MikuPi I want to use them for reading Temperature and Humidity (DHT22) and a sonar sensor (HC-SR04). And further with a NFC rader. Sincerely thanks for your help.

Hello everybody, I have recently bought an Orange Pi Lite. I start with the easier one: Internationalisation (and I have not written internationalization to remind US peop…

I am sorry but even after long searching I could not find out how to enable internal pull up resistors in an A20. I am on a BananaPro with Bionic, kernel 4.14.70. I want to use the pull ups on I2C-1. Presumably it is quite easy. I know that internal pull resistors are usually too weak for I2C, but the I2C is only connected to an external level shifter since all connected I2C devices have 5V lines. So the internal resistors should be sufficient, and the expansion board is working reliably on an old Rapsberry model B with internal pull ups. So, how can I enable internal pullups? The I2C-1 overlay seems not to have an option for that. Can it be done via dev…

Hi all, I have an application running on an orange pi pc plus 2 over the emmc 8gb memory. Everything is in there (os, db sw) and what it does is acquiring data from some sensors and then pushing it over mqtt to a server. Now, due to frequent internet connection issues, the board is able to store up to ~ 1 month of data in a local db but this means quite a lot of writes per seconds (plus all the logs). I would like to have an idea of how much the emmc can keep up with this rates and thus I am trying to understand how to calculate the life span in years (hopefully nothing less). Can anyone help me on how to do that? I am using right …

But if I use linux-u-boot-orangepiplus-default , it will boot. My running root is mmcblk1 during this "rescue" boot). Both 5.15 & 5.16 exhibit this behavior. Thanks, wha bad-uboot.txt

I have a NanoPi Neo V1.4 running Armbian 23.8.1 bullseye with kernel nanopineo 6.1.63-current-sunxi. Hi, I am having an issue with my system running a nanopi Air. After boot, my system won't detect my rtc (i2cdetect doesn't show it) nor my USB device. The problem must come from my SD card or is software related. Indeed, when I am booting from another SDcard, with aembian installed, everything is detected normally. Does anyone has a clue? Thank you, Tibibs

Armbian version …em, latest at this stage, I guess, it’s a bit hard to check exactly right now press power on button, it powers on via HDMI I see the Armbian boot logo some early boot messages pop up and ends with “Starting kernel ....” (Loading init Ramdisk seems OK, loading of device tree also OK) it goes back to black screen with Armbian logo and the _ blinking for a very short time I see an error with a long number and saying something about ”rebooting again…
