Hello, I encounter a strange behaviour with Lime2. When on battery and AC plug-in if I ask for a shutdown -h now, the board reboot by itself and the system does not stop. When on battery only, the board stop with the command shutdown -h now I read about those 2 variables CONFIG_MFD_AXP20X=y CONFIG_REGULATOR_AXP20X=y to set in u-boot/configs/A20-OLinuXino-Lime2_defconfig But after building the a u-boot package with compil.sh this setting does not have any effect... zgrep MFD /proc/config.gz command does not show the CONFIG_MFD_AXP20X=y variable Did I miss something, any ideas ? Thanks Florian

Hello all, If i detach battery all works ok. With attached battery system reboots instead of shutting down. Anyone experiencing this issue again with 5.4.21 kernel? Is there a workaround to solve it, maybe in u-boot or somewhere else? Armbian 20.05.0-trunk built from source Thank you

I explain better, I want to replace the stock Debian Image that came with the Olimex Board, but the system is on a distant location where there is no computer, I need to swap the SD card and have the system booting and usign the console of the machine to perform all the remaining operation. I need to have the SD Card image that boot with VGA output, the rest of the operation coulbe done with the machine, (I nedd to configure the wifi and connet to the router and then in internet) I have read a topic that said that i nedd to modify the fex file, but this is feasible with my computer running Li…

For some days now I have the board mentioned in the subject, the goal is to have a webserver, git server, and maybe lateron something like a mini-personal-cloud for my family. Yesterday me and my brother finally decided which OS to use - and dd-ed the SD card with the Armbian/Debian Vanilla Jessie Server image (Armbian_5.10_Lime2_Debian_jessie_4.5.2). Some hours later after installing apache2 and trying things out I thought it would be a good idea to do an apt-get upgrade for security reasons before exposing the server to "the world". Unfortunately it was not: The device is not booting any longer after the upgrade. This is the log output of /var/log/apt/term.log (I moun…

I just installed a fresh armbian 5.38 (mainline kernel) image to an SD Card for my A20-OLinuXino-MICRO board. After booting I used armbian-config to enable the spi-spidev. I then edited the armbianEnv.txt directly to add param_spidev_spi_bus=0. This gives me a single spidev0.0 under dev. Changing the parameter to param_spidev_spi_bus=2 (or 1) I can get the other busses. But only a single bus at a time. I spent I few hours googling, but I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to enable more than one userspace spi dev. Could someone explain to me how to enable all spi devices at once? Writing a custom overlays myself is a little beyond me at t…

I am making some testing over A20-SOM from Olimex. I have a signal connected to NMI_N pin and with a legacy distribution, with power_start=0 on FEX, I am able to poweroff the board from command line (while the board is still powered) and then poweron/weakup the board raising up the signal on NMI_N. However, I need to do this on an armbian mainline distribution. I poweroff the board from command line (but keep the board powered), the PWR_LED keeps turn on and the board should wakeup when I turn on the signal on NMI_N and it does on my legacy distribution but not in armbian. Has anyone any clue, advice/tip to make this work in armbian? I really don't know where to sta…

Hi, Im trying to modify the configuration of AXP209 in the A20-SOM204 to change the behavior of long and short press time to make a long press shutdown the board and a short press wake up, following the datasheet: http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/AXP/AXP209_Datasheet_v1.0en.pdf and trying with the register: https://linux-sunxi.org/AXP209#REG_36H:_PEK_key_parameter_settings but with not success. To wake up the board from standby we are simulating a POWER press as a response to an external signal rise up, but we need to NOT shutdown the board when it is already ON when this signal rise up, but after trying to change the AXP209 parameters, still, any instant press of P…

It seems like all the OS available for the A64 (for me specifically the orangepi winplus) are using the 3.10 kernel that has reached the EOL. I have been advised against using this kernel but I don't see any other options. I did find and armbian for the winplus that used 4.11 but it crumbled after upgrade every time. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks

I'm considering buying a Banana Pro, and I assumed I could just install a standard version of Debian Jessie directly from the official installer according to this and this, albeit without graphics or audio support. But then I came across this page and I'm not quite sure I understand the differences between Igor's images and regular a Debian installation. Is it the just the option to choose sunxi/4.0.5 kernel, some (or rather, a lot of) tweaks and scripts and drivers for misc components (IR, LVDS, etc)? I plan to use it as a headless server, what would be the advantages of running Igor's images vs a regular install? Also, on a separate question, is there any other bo…

Things downloaded last week, When switching to alternative kernel is executed in Armbian Config, the screen set to 1280 x 1024 has been changed to 1280 x 720 and it was not able to be rewritten, so do not run the Switch to Alternative kernel and keep the 1280 x 1024 screen It is GQRX-SDR, since error-6 (even if blacklist maintenance is done) comes out, As a workaround, I ran Switch to the alternative kernel and avoided error-6. (I give up on screen 1280 x 720) But today, when downloading and installing the same software, the screen shows 1280 x 1024 It was able to be maintained. Sorry to make software, it is truly a hard work. But the object of today (201…

Hi there, I pulled the latest changes from github and created a fresh Debian Jessie Armbian Image for my BananaPi M2+. Specifically, I run: BOARD=bananapim2plus BOARD_NAME="Banana Pi M2+" VERSION=5.21 LINUXFAMILY=sun8i BRANCH=default ARCH=arm Through a lot of debugging and googeling, I found that the latest armbian Image uses a different BCM driver (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues/484). Now I face the following issue: In order to use AP6216 with hostapd in access point mode, I added "bcmdhd op_mode=2" to /etc/module. I tried a number of things, e.g. using dhd instead of bcmdhd but without success? Any ideas where I can configure AP6216 in op_mode=2 (access …

Hi, I'm using Armbian Linux on a Cubietruck A20 device configured as a media, file and backup server. Unfortunately while trying to fix a persistent SATA-cable connection problem I accidentally pushed the FEL button on the device. I have been looking at multiple pages about the FEL mode but I'm unable to find useful information on how to quit or exit this FEL mode and to have the cubietruck booting as it did before. Hello guys, I am trying to use hardware flow control over the uart 1 of a nanopi neo core that I am using with a minishield. The GPIO pins of RX,TX,RTS and CTS of uart 1 based on this documentation (http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/Mini_Shield_for_NanoPi_NEO_Core/Core2) are G6,G7,G8 and G9. First of all I downloaded WiringNP in order to see the status of each GPIO. Before activating the rts cts on uart1, the figure "beforeActivatingRTSCTS" is the output of the command "gpio readall" . Hello I'm quite new with armbian and Banana Pi, but have some experience with Raspberry PI. I started with Banana PI M2 Zero and armbian because of current unavailibility of Raspberry PI which is needed for some of my DIY pinball projects https://lisy.dev/ With a 5.15.48 Kernel Image I noted that the internal ethernet of M2 Zero is set to disabled, where with a 5.10.60 Kernel from the archive it works. After some investigation I used the "sun8i-h2-plus-bananapi-m2-zero.dtb" overlay from the 5.10 Kernel with a 5.15.43 Kernel and was happy that eth0 was working again. However as I think it is not advisable to mixing Kernel version…

Hi, So far was working with headless Armbian images. Now I need to attach an HDMI monitor to my OPi ONE. Generated a desktop Armbian 5.24 jessie kernel 3.4.113, attached the HDMI monitor and booted. I saw the inital seconds of U-Boot logging the discovery of the monitor and a few other things and then it went blank. I guess after some reading in the forum that there is no display manager included in the distro or is there some other problem? Is there some build option that we could include a manager (eg KDE/XFCE/etc) in the image generation proccess? Or if there is any guide that gives steps for adding a display manager in Armbian to a not-so-knowledgab…

Hello, I hope someone might help me on this. Is anyone here using the ENC28J60 Ethernet port on an Orange Pi Zero 2W or Orange Pi Zero 3? If so, can you please share the file .dts (or .dtbo) that is working for you? I've generated a .dtbo using the file in https://github.com/armbian/sunxi-DT-overlays/blob/master/examples/spi-enc28j60.dts, with: dtc -I dts -O dtb -o /boot/overlay-user/spi-enc28j60.dtbo spi-enc28j60.dts but still it doesn't work. It says "chip not found". I'm using the same cable pinout as in my Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and it works successfully, but not in the Orange Pi Zero 2W. Any idea?

A board (nanopi neo) collects some information and stores it to SD card. Users than change the SD card and open it on PC (windows). Due windows limitation, there is only one (first) partition (fat/ntfs) can be visible. Current mainline image for nanopi neo contains only one ext4 partition, so I tried to gparted it (moved first partition and made new FAT16 one), but for some reason, the image did not boot. So I'm looking for info, how to make two partitions properly.

Hey folks, I'm hoping for some advice on achieving decent graphics for my application. I've got a prototype running with a custom board hosting the NanoPi Neo Air and a bunch of my own hardware. The biggest issue right now is getting reasonable graphics performance. The difference between mainline and legacy support has had me confused and switching back and forth trying to find a useful solution. Here's what I've learned so far: Mainline feels like the future, so that's my preference. My application uses fbtft over SPI for the graphics. I achieved 72MHz SPI on mainline which gives almost reasonable performance. On legacy the SPI driver seems buggy and …

I installed Armbian onto a reliable 16GB class 10 SD card, put it into an Orange Pi 3 with a 5v 3000 mA power supply (not a phone charger) and I've bumped into this error.. ALERT! /dev/mmcblk0p1 does not exist. Dropping to a shell! The armbianmonitor -u command was not found so I had to take a photo of the computer screen. I'm not sure what is going on here and I couldn't find someone who had this error on an Orange Pi 3 before. If anyone has some advice I'd love to hear it.

I know that mainline kernel now is 4.14, and now is experimental for A64.. I have tried build my own armbian form Orangepi Win Plus. Kernel 4.14 does not recognize audio and LAN. Question. Is it possible to build Armbian 5.51 with old kernel 3.10 for that device ( Ubuntu 18.04). Old kernel works much better with devices A64 cpu. I know that is old......but mayby not so experimental.....

Checking in... NanoPi-NEO v.1.31 with the OLED hat... need to be a bit specific as there are multiple HW revs of the NEO - v1.2 and later moved from LDO to a DC/DC regulator, so info from 1.0/1.1 might not be accurate these days - still sorting out the regulator in use, as there are a couple of options with Allwinner H3 there. For a lark I wanted to see if a BPi would do as a softsynth. I started with the very nice 2.9 Jessie image* and 4.x kernel, but noticed only then that there's no sound, so I installed the 3.4 packages. After booting, ALSA seems to be working fine wrt line sound output and mixer. I could also play MIDI files with fluidsynth fine and hear clear audio on headphones. Connecting a USB MIDI keyboard also gets detected and its ports show up. Now, fluidsynth as a server won't start and neither does jackd. Both seem to complain about missing /dev/snd/seq. So I'm wondering if there's a kernel module or option missing or if it's an artifact of there being no actual MIDI synt…

Hello, I am using the Armbian 22.08.2 Jammy with Linux 5.15.69-sunxi. When I issue "aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav" or "speaker-test -t wav" playback misses a few seconds from the beginning of the audio file. If I restart it immediately, I can hear the file playing correctly. Then I wait for a while, run it and the problem reappears. I read on this forum that people have had the same problem for years without finding a solution. Is there a solution or does anyone wise know what the problem is?

Hi guys, I've been having problems on my NanoPi Duo implementing a music streaming service using Alsa PCM to output the audio. When calling snd_pcm_open with the nonblock flag set, I had snd_pcm_writei returning a broken pipe error several times per day (when continuously playing). I noticed not setting this flag and, thus, allowing snd_pcm_writei to block until there was enough room in the Alsa PCM buffer, did not show this problem. This was however unusable because the blocking behaviour slowed down the rest of the software enough to be annoying. I think I solved it now by checking with snd_pcm_avail_update if there's enough room available, …

Hello there, I belong to the group of users that bought a BPi-M2 to just find out that hardware is nothing without software support. First, to my background: I do spend a lot of time at my computer using both Windows and Linux, but I am not a Linux guru. I used to configure and build kernels several years ago, at the time, when we used LILO to boot Linux. My field of interest is real-time sound processing, based on complex filter banks (ideally implemented using multi-threading). For a current project I needed something small, powerful and easily programmable. Since the BPi-M2 has 4 cores and built-in microphone, it seemed ideal for the first tries. Anyway, I…

So ARMbian is my preferred OS for the pcduino3 because it outperforms all of the other options. However, I'm having trouble altering the screen resolution. I'm trying to get it set to 1024x768@60p and it's not playing ball. I've edited script.bin and boot.cmd to change the display mode to output mode/type 4 (desired res and VGA mode respectively) but it just goes to a blank screen and refuses to boot when I reboot it. What exactly do I need to do to get this resolution working? If 1024x768@60 isn't an option, I can work with 1280x1024@60 as well, but I'm still clueless as to the necessary steps to take to change it. -edit- Sorry I should add I'm using the jess…

This is a simple one, but the most annoying. The only Linux distribution I can not get to work in the Armbian on the Banana Pro. Sandisk 32Gb Class 10 MicroSD card. A USB power supply that does supply sufficient power and current. I write the image to the MicroSD card, insert it into the Banana Pro's card holder, power it up, the red LED lights up and ................. that's where it stops. No heartbeat on the green LED. The one thing I notice is that the image I download has only got one partition on it and that's the ext4 partition. It does not have the small FAT formatted partition and I think this is where it all goes wrong. …

On my orangepi pc (legacy kernel) I'm trying to using separately the left and right channel as two separate sound cards (to be used by two different programs). I have a working asoundrc for that, but the problem is that the left channel leaks into the right one and viceversa. They also do the same on my laptop, but there it's hardly noticeable. It's not a matter of my asounrc, I confirmed it also with speaker-test. I suppose it's a hardware issue, right? BTW the right and left channel are inverted (and that could be a driver issue). This is the my asoundrc, the !default line is because one of the two programs is linphone and I couldn't find a…

Hi, We use different armbian images for our different orangepis and every time we change a board model we only point script.bin shortcut to .bin file of the new board and it always work without changing the whole image. But we could not make Opi zero work with this technic. Opi zero does not work when we copied orangepizero.bin from opi zero image to /boot/bin folder and point script.bin to than file. (as older armbian images do not have orangepizero.bin we had to copy from new opi zero image.) We tried to boot from opi lite image but wifi and usb (and probably other things as well) does not work. As our image is custom made and we have to change a lot of things is…

It is one of the smallest board featuring H5 soc. Since it has an on-board HDMI connector, i think it would be great to have a Desktop image for this board. Other H5 /similar boards like PC2 and Prime already have various desktops available (xenial / stretch with xfce).... Do u guys have any plan to release one in the future? and thanks a lot for the tremendous amount of effort u have put into this project :)

I've been using pyA20 as H3 gpio library in Orangepi. Recently we've moved to nanoPi M1 . But the problem is H3 on nanoPi has more gpio pins than orangePi and A20 gpio library does not recognize these pins. Is there any H3 gpio library like pyA20 available ? (Please note WiringOPI is for C not python) Thanks.

You know in Waynes World when the boys went to the Alice Cooper concert and got to meet Alice Cooper (they were his biggest fans)..... All they could say was "We're not Worthy.... We're not Worthy". That is the way I feel after downloading and installing the Jessie version of Armbian for my Olimex Micro. My hat is off to you.... Great Job!!!! It blows that awful SD I got from Olimex away..... I really want to see your desktop now.....

Hello, I'm a new user of Orange Pi One - it just arrived yesterday. I installed Armbian and hoped to try out some H264 video. It appeared just fine on the first time - but I noticed lack of any OSD/subtitles. I tried to use different player (VLC), played with different video outputs. 'X11' worked well on both VLC and mpv... until I tried fullscreen. After long time spent researching the topic I found out that Armbian is using libvdpau-surni whitch is a community driver reversed-engeineered from Allwinner's commertial one, apparently avalibale for Android. I also read that its output will alvays overlap any other elements of the screen including subtitles, menus et…

Hello. I have an OPi +2e, with Ubuntu 16.04 and legacy kernel 3.4.113-sun8i. I tried to install Nextcloud via a Snap package, but got this error: error: cannot perform the following tasks: - Run configure hook of "nextcloud" snap if present (run hook "configure": cannot open mount namespace of the init process (O_PATH): No such file or directory) I googled for the message, and found out that there are some bits needed in the kernel, for Snap to work (see https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/nextcloud-snap-install/2674/3 ). Has anybody got this to work? Maybe with mainline kernel?

I'm looking to compile a kernel for Gentoo (Orange Pi Prime), but afaik the HDMI support has not been mainlined yet. Does anybody know how Armbian kernels have it? And is there more to it than just the kernel sources? Last time I tried, I had no luck getting output.

I installed the SoftetherVPN using the script provided in Armbian distribution, than I configured it from my windows machine, using the VPN Server manager application downloaded from softether website. When I try to connect from my iPhone I get an error "The L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem persists ..." What I didn't do , is opening ports in my router, do I need to forward 443, 992, 1194, 5555 to my BananaPi IP in my router ? Some more details I posted on the softether forum, but it seems there is noone around to answer, and alot of spam is posted daily Thank you. VPN Tools>check Check command …
