After i've upgraded to 5.00, and upgraded the legacy kernel to vanilla (mostly for hardware crypto), i've noticed strange errors: blocky video play from dlna, and from samba too. So i did some test, copied few files on my cubieboard2, and compared the sha hashes of both version, and sometimes the cb2 version is changed, sometimes not. Also i see that a lot of synced files became different on cb2. Is there a way to do some in memory tests to verify how the hw crpyto works? For example random numbers -> hw encrypt -> decrypt -> check if still the same. These test i've made: -as i'm using the encrypted HDD as a backup storage too, i've compared the sour…

Hello Armbian Kernel Team, I own a Cubietruck (CB3) and I wanted to setup a fresh debian server system. So I installed Armbian 5.14 (Debian Jessie) on my SD Card and booted the system up. Everything was working as expected, but I have special needs regarding the usage of my filesystems and storage devices. My desired configuration is (previously working under Armbian Wheezy): Cubietruck NAND -> /dev/nand1 (32 MB) = boot partition -> /dev/nand2 (max) = some data or maybe swap 60 GB SATA Drive (2,5") via SATA to USB adapter -> /dev/sdb1 (5 GB) = root filesystem -> /dev/sdb2 (55 GB) = some data 1 TB SATA Drive (3,5") via native SATA port o…

Hi, I have a orange pi pc plus, and i want to use a PN532 NFC module with Uart. At first, i need to enable uart and i have found this docs : https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/ , but i think i miss something. My kernel version is 4.9.0, so i follow Vanilla kernel (Device Tree) explanations. What i understand is i need to modify "sun8i-h3-orangepi-pc-plus.dtb" in /boot/dtb. I try to do it, but i surely do something wrong, because my pi didn't boot anymore, so i flash the sd card. Before remaking any modification i prefer to be certain, do i really need to modify this files? And in particular this lines? /*Part of the files (Uart0 and Uart1)…

Hi, I am totally new to Linux, but already managed to run OMV on my Banana Pi M1+ with Plex and other services I wanted on Armbian. Now I tried to run Kodi, so it could serve me both as NAS and HTPC. Firstly, I have installed xorg, then lightdm and set it up for autologin, which is working correctly. Then, I have installed Kodi 16 from git, but only gray box appears and then vanishes and screen stays black. My first impression was it is lacking GL drivers, so I have followed this tutorial: https://forum.armbian.com/index. ... pi-orangepi-pc-etc/, tested and everything seemed to be ok. I installed Emilia Pinball to check additionally - it renders correctly. Still, when …

Hello everyone, I have an Orange Pi Lite and I have a problem when I try to shut down the system, I receive stack errors. I've recorded a video to see if it detects what the problem is, I'm new to armbian and linux in general. Except for a bug that occurs in the partition several times (on two different microsd cards), I do not know what the problem might be, I read that it could be a kernel bug, but I'm not sure. I put the video link to see if anyone can help me, it is slowed down so it can be read. If I do not try to turn it off, everything works fine, but when I try to turn it off, it gives the errors and restarts as seen in the video. Thanks in advance. …

Hello! I'm running CB2 board as home server for a long time and after recent upgrade I've got an issue with LXC container. LXC container has "Ubuntu" inside and provides TOR functionalty + access point via connected USB wifi. USB adapter passed to container like this: lxc-wait -n tor -s RUNNING lxc-device -n tor add wlan0 I'm not using it recently, but recently I found, that after connection to AP nothing happens (no internet, DNS servers are IPV6 :)) and host system (CB2) is completely frozen. After reboot I've connected via SSH and retried to connect to access point - again freeze, and screen is populated with this: …

Hi, I understand that powering the Orange Pi Zero through the USB OTG interface is convenient but suboptimal due to low power, especially if you have other devices attached to the board. I've seen recommendations that powering the board directly via the 5V and GND on the GPIO from a clean and sufficiently powerful power supply is preferable. I know in theory what needs to be done but I don't know how to physically connect to the board. The GPIO is a 2x13 row of conductive holes in the board. (Is there a name for this sort of thing, by the way?) Say I have two wires, 5V and GND. How do I physically attach a wire to one a hole? Do I need to …

Hi, I'm running Armbian 5.38 with kernel 3.4.113-sun8i on an Orange Pi Zero. I'm writing an audio streaming application using the portaudio library for accessing the soundcard. It seems that the OPI Zero samplerate for the built-in microphone is configured at 24kHz instead of 48kHz. $ cat /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/sub0/hw_params access: MMAP_INTERLEAVED format: S16_LE subformat: STD channels: 1 rate: 24000 (24000/1) period_size: 960 buffer_size: 1920 If I connect an external USB soundcard, I get the expected values: $ cat /proc/asound/card2/pcm0c/sub0/hw_params access: RW_INTERLEAVED format: S16_LE subformat: STD chan…

[BANANA PI PRO - SO running on SD] So, on every system upgrade I do, I end up with something broken. Normally it won't boot because of some kernel misconfiguration or due the encrypted HDD that I use connected to it. On the last upgrade the same occurred. However, normally, I can solve stuff by myself. This time I couldn't fix everything (yet). I think that the only solution would be me compiling the kernel myself. First the system wouldn't boot. After a few kernel replacements, I could make it boot, kind of. If I have my encrypted LUKS HDD connected to it, it will boot to some degree and hang in there forever. If I take it …

I just upgraded (using a fresh image with the 5.69 image) one of my SOPINE A64 modules from Armbian Xenial - legacy kernel 3.10.y to Armbian Bionic - mainline kernel 4.19.y. The onboard ethernet will no longer work. The sopine module is connected to a clusterboard instead of a sopine baseboard, but the NIC is on the module so it should not make a difference. On Xenial 3.10.y kernel the driver loaded for the NIC is the sunxi_geth driver, on bionic 4.19.y kernel it is the st_mac100 driver. Here is the output of the lshw for 4.19.y *-network:0 description: Ethernet interface physical id: 6 logical name: eth0 seria…

One of the Bananapi-m1+ GPIO pins is connected to an LED that I need to illuminate as quickly as possible after power-on. Using an older Fedora Linux release, it turns on in 3 seconds. Using a recent Armbian build, it takes 45 seconds. I've tried many ways using services with early "After=" targets, to access /sys/class/gpio/* interfaces more quickly, and this improved it by 5 seconds, but it's still too long. So I tried adding a device tree overlay to set the default value in the pin controller. I am confident the DT overlay is getting read and parsed properly, based on seeing artifacts in debugging streams, but still, no LED illumination. Anybody got any ideas on …

Hi all. Hello, Im using a Orange Pi Zero, running nginx with Nextcloud. Im noticing 99.99% usage on the IO reported by iotop, but disk read and disk write show 0%. Even a refresh on the homepage bumps it up to the top of the IO list. As far as I am informed... isn't kswapd0 supposed to deal with swap memory and go wild when I am about to run out of RAM? I have disabled (hopefully), my swap partition, but I am still getting this. I have commented out the swap line in fstab... htop reports 0KB SWAP. It doesn't seem that I am running out of memory. About 50% of it appears to be free all the time. I am really new to dev boards and such, but this didn't appea…

So I thought I had a stable system with my OPI PC the 4.7.3-sun8i kernel (for BTRFS support), but the OOM killer keeps silently triggering. I can see it on the serial term and in the logs. I have an odd problem with a Orange Pi Zero H2+ 512mb I have samba setup with share all correctly BUT my windows XP pc cant see the share name at all unless I search for the IP then under the IP I can setup share maps on my PC and all is good. However I have tried 4 different Windows 10 PCs now and they cannot see either the server name or even the IP to get the shares :-( even though I can ping the server (OP-zero) IP address and get a perfect response. I am tearing my hair out here I need this to work on Windows 10 for a small server project I am working on. Also the exact same PCs CAN see the Shares and server easy with the exact same setup with Ubuntu 16.…

Hi all! Kinda "mayday-mayday" I recently upgraded Armbian to 5.35 and after reboot it gone. After long investigation i figured out, that it boots ONLY when HDMI cable connected to even standby tv. This is my home server and it works nonstop in headless mode.. I am on kernel 4.13.16-sunxi, rootfs on sata SSD. I guess something cannot be detected with uboot. How can I fix this ?

Hi I have added some drivers in the kernel source code in the cache folder and I am not sure how to rebuild the kernel with the new changes. I am trying to rebuild the mainline kernel. I'm trying to get the Orange Pi One Plus' OTG port to function in "otg" or "peripheral" mode. I've modified the device tree configuration to change the "dr_mode" from "host" to "peripheral". This works as long as the Orange Pi One Plus and the device are separated by a hub. If directly connected via an OTG cable/adapter the device instead charges from the Orange Pi One Plus. I assume this would be due to the OTG port acting as a power source rather than a power sink. However, after experimenting I've been unable to find a device tree configuration change the role of the vbus. Does anybody have any advice?

Hello, my BananaPi M1 sometimes just stops working. The maximum uptime is 5 days. Usually the time is shorter. The system simply hangs. I can no longer access the system via SSH. When I connect a monitor to HDMI, nothing is displayed, so I can log in. I have connected an external hard drive that is self-powered. I know the stories with the power supply. I have run ' stress -c 2 -m 1 '. The system remains stable. Hi there, with Armbian Buster "OOB" (+update) I have following problem on Orange Pi 3: - Firefox (with language Polish) does not play network radio: https://www.rmfon.pl/play,25#p , - at the same time: - there are /dev/snd/ files, only for HDMI, but I have read that currently there is no driver for H6 audio, so I may expect at least ALSA is working, - VLC plays MP3 files correctly, (but it can play with pulse and ALSA), - pulseaudio is not started / configured / present. What should I do?

Hi, I recently purchased a Banana Pi M2 zero, and I can't seem to get the OTG port to work with any kind of operating system. I have tried all of the normal remedies like cable issues, power supply, etc. With no luck. I know Armbian is usually the best OS for these little boards, but I can't seem to get a keyboard or mouse to work with it. Although it boots up just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Igor, I grabbed your 4.1 image, flashed it onto the microsd Card and boot the cubietruck. However, I received the message from my display: Out of specification: 67.5kHz / 60 Hz. The first boot is ok, but after starting the kernel the screen turns black and above mentioned message apears. This happens on the analouge (VGA) input and on the digital input (DVI) as well. How to fix the problem?? I never had any display problems with all your images. never! This is the first time. I might to use your 4.0 image to return into operation again. regards, hitam4450

I have the gc2035 camera working on my Orange Pi One running Armbian, but I need a better image sensor. I've had a quick attempt to get an ov5640 working without any luck. It is a popular 5Mpixel module similar to the RPi camera. I know that 'Sitheek' on the Orange Pi forums had it working. However, that place is a ghost town now and Sitheek has not visited since January. So, I wonder if anyone here has got an OV5640 camera working, or failing that, could just offer some pointers on how to go about this? Thanks.

Hello there. I'm owner of nano pi m1 board. I want use hid usb gadget on this board, but no success. First I use prebuild image from download section. I fugured out, that the image contains android_usb gadget and it's works (i didn't go deep, but i see, that after some manipulations with files my computer see nano pi as mass storage). Ok, this shows that nanopi board can be used as device. Go next. I need to load g_hid module, but there is no such module in the default image. Ok, time to compile custom kernel (with Igor's script this is easy). I included hid usb gadget via menu. Booting and "modprobe g_hid". Failed. "No such module" turns into "No such device". Hm...…

Hi. I've got a Orange Pi Win Plus flashed with armbian, everything is running great, except the bluetooth module. I have everything installed, but blueman keeps telling me that no adapters are found. I've checked if the bluetooth adapters were on with the command 'armbian-config', as well as trying to stop and restart it with '/etc/init.d/bluetooth stop and start'. I start to feel like it won't work on linux, because I've already tried debian and ubuntu from the orangepi downloads page and the bluetooth didn't work too. I don't want to run Android just because of this issue. Any ideas?

Hi, I use BananaPro on Armbian Strech or Bionic, I try to use the GPIO python library (for bananapro from LeMaker github) gpio.add_event_detect() or GPIO.wait_for_edge(channel, GPIO.RISING) This usually disconnect my network and the event is never detected. I have to reboot the PI to restore the state. Also, a normal read/write state GPIO.input(PIN_NUM) works perfectly... I try this : https://forum.armbian.com/topic/3249-bananapi-m1-gpioadd_event_detect-not-working-after-switch-to-vanilla-kernel/ but not work. My python script work fine on Bananian on the same bananaPro. thank for your help.

Hi All First post here. Have been using Rpi Zero 2W for a couple of years in various installations and other then speed been happy with it. So got an Orange Pi Zero 2 W in an attempt to use it as a plug in replacement for the Rpi. Installed Armbian and other than a booting issue, it all works. The first obstacle is the i2c, it is obvious that is nowhere near as easy as a Rpi to set up. I have read many posts and get more confused as the days go on. So, the question: Is there a step by step instruction on how to enable I2C. I am connecting 2 x ADS1115 A2D converters, one at &H48 and the 2nd…

Hi, I have a orange pi one which I use as a test web server and everything was good so far, the first problem I came a cross that the couchbase server on debian package did'nt support arm, so I skipped that and used another computer as couchbase server, But the problem now is that I can't install the couchbase php client on the orange pi, then I tried the build the libcouchbase my self. I actually did build it (I have no previous experince with build) After I built it I don't know what to do, now I have libcouchbase.so file and other files but I can't still use couchbase php commands. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.

Hi, Need to have a point to point ethernet network without any router or dhcp server in between two OPiPC running legacy and Ubuntu desktop. Currently, when I connect a ethernet cable between them, they get valid IPs (IPv4LL) after 5 minutes so that might be the dhcp timeout today (300sec?). Tried to see where this value is in order to get it lower, so to have faster their valid IPs and start working, but could not find it in Armbian, any hints on where to look for that timeout value?

Hi, I have some issues regarding the Orange Pi becoming non responsive and only accessible. When I look at the log, i just see an sudden stop of writing to the logfile. And this line: [mmc]: sdc2 set ios: clk 50000000Hz bm PP pm ON vdd 3.3V width 8 timing UHS-DDR50 dt B Is the mmc failing? I currently have 80 orange pi's installed. 20 of them have this issue. Is this an PSU problem? Some external persons said that they had an problem with installing two Orange Pi's on the same electricty net. But was not confirmed by me. I've added an logfile logfile.txt
