Hello Everybody !!! Armbian works great on beelink (Armbian_5.20_Beelinkx2_Debian_jessie_3.4.112) Just one last thing to reach the perfection : "speaker-test -twav -c2" gives good sound on hdmi But with mpv (and vlc previous version) hdmi sound and video are slowed... With audiocodec and sndspdif it's ok. Is it a known problem ? Is there other way to play sound and video ? cat /etc/modules #gpio_sunxi bcmdhd sndspdif sunxi_sndspdif sunxi_spdif sunxi_spdma sunxi-cir

I would like to upgarde my Cubietruck headless server from Legacy to Vanilla. With Legacy if I boot from NAND I can get my hard disc to spin down. But with SD card/sda root file system (as required by Vanilla) I can't get my disc to stop: if I issue 'hdparm -Y /dev/sda' it spins up again after a short interval. I have done everything I can think of to ensure that rsyslog is not writing to disc. Syslog shows frequent ata error messages that seem to coincide with the disc re-starting. Error msg: kernel: [ 104.477850] ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x200 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 I have tried this on two different Cubieboards with different makes of hard…

Hi there, I pulled the latest changes from github and created a fresh Debian Jessie Armbian Image for my BananaPi M2+. Specifically, I run: BOARD=bananapim2plus BOARD_NAME="Banana Pi M2+" VERSION=5.21 LINUXFAMILY=sun8i BRANCH=default ARCH=arm Through a lot of debugging and googeling, I found that the latest armbian Image uses a different BCM driver (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues/484). Now I face the following issue: In order to use AP6216 with hostapd in access point mode, I added "bcmdhd op_mode=2" to /etc/module. I tried a number of things, e.g. using dhd instead of bcmdhd but without success? Any ideas where I can configure AP6216 in op_mode=2 (access …

Hi all, I'm writing this post because I had an issue upgrading my lamobo-r1 from the previous version to the current one (Armbian_5.20_Lamobo-r1_Ubuntu_xenial_4.7.3). On reboot hwclock doesn't start so I get my clock set to epoch, wan doesn't go UP, postfix says "time stamp 2015-11-25 01:40:22 is 1448411826.350146139 s in the future", random says "uninitialized urandom read"... a total mess. As pointed out on some sites, looks like "/etc/init/hwclock.conf" has "start on starting mountall" so failing to mount could cause a failing in hwclock initialization. I also found on bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu that in recent versions with systemd, mountall became fussy about fi…

Hello. I am new to Armbian. My Banana PI M2 (already a disappointment, bad purchase on my part) is up and running but will not reboot all the way. It shuts down but does not restart again. Any ideas how to go about troubleshooting and fixing this? It is a deal breaker for what I planned to be a headless system. It needs to be restartable without physically pulling the plug to do so.

Hi Guys, a few weeks ago, I implemented a project wich reads the power sources of my Banana Pi. I was using /sys/power/axp_pmu/. I now made a new build to enable lcd display and such things. But now /sys/power/axp_pmu/ isn't there. Also can't find it anywhere in my system. Only /sys/power/{pm_async, pm_freeze_timeout, state, wakeup_count} Kernel of new build is 4.8.0 What have I to do, to get axp_pmu back? Martin

I'm getting broken connections when I download big files from my Cubietruck. I've tried reducing CPU freq and setting eth0 to 100 half duplex, as recommended in various places. No joy though. Hi, I have a orange pi one which I use as a test web server and everything was good so far, the first problem I came a cross that the couchbase server on debian package did'nt support arm, so I skipped that and used another computer as couchbase server, But the problem now is that I can't install the couchbase php client on the orange pi, then I tried the build the libcouchbase my self. I actually did build it (I have no previous experince with build) After I built it I don't know what to do, now I have libcouchbase.so file and other files but I can't still use couchbase php commands. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.

Hi, Seen some posts where mentioning that depending of the version of kernel there is either FEX or DTS usage, old ones called Legacy, using FEX to define GPIOs and Peripherals pins. Wit Mainline Kernel, is using DTS. Yet in the recent kernel (dev) armbian builds, eg armbian 5.21, kernel 4.7.6 (on H3, NEO), seen the /boot containing all the FEX stuff script.bin etc. Is FEX still used in the mainline kernel builds? Hi, I own several SPI touch displays, and I would like to use them with armbian. I got the displays to work already, but I'm now trying to get the touchpanels to work also. I also tried to put the options in a /etc/modprobe.d/ads7846.conf, /etc/modprobe.d/ads7846_device.conf and /etc/modprobe.d/fbtft_device.conf but nothing works. Hey there, I am a long time user of your armbian operating system. It is great, I am using it for a simple home NAS system. But I have found one problem with armbian, which is very annoying: My standard Banana Pi keeps loosing the HDD Ive connected over Sata. It is a 3,5" Seagate Barracude 3TB drive formated as Ext4. It gets 5V and 12V power and runs quite perfect, as long as it has something to do. It spins up and down as I configured it. But when I leave the pi for a longer time period unattended (no workload), and the harddrive stays in spindown-mode too long, it wont identify the HDD anymore. The mount point and the /dev/sda are gone. I need to powercycle t…

I was testing the orangepi PC+ armbian build 5.20 (Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop) when messing with it it seemed to have random reboots. I thought initially it was because it was lacking a heatsink or fan. So I added both and the issue persisted. Thinking maybe if I flashed to emmc it might resolve the issue it froze in emmc install and is effectively softbricked from what I can tell sadly. I also tested a second OPIPC+ but was unable to get it to boot. I tested with multiple new power cables as well.

Hi guys, I'm running Armbian on my BananaPi for almost a year now and it has always run seamlessly, since the latest upgrade to Arabian 5.20 (Kernel 4.7.3) I've started to experience problems with the stability of the daemons. Monit is doing an hard job lately restarting many times a day almost all the processes I'm running as damons, the most affected by the Killing are Python 2.7 (running Sickrage) and Deluge daemon. In particular Deluge being killed so many times a day is quite annoying since I have to recheck the integrity of many files almost every time I get the service up again. I Installed the Armbian system who is dedicated for my OPI version: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ with instruction, formatted SD card with format size adjustment option ON. But when I want to boot it there is only still green light (steady all time). OPI not giving any boot information on screen. This issue is not caused by SD card becasue I tried two (which one is recommended): Kingston 32GB (class 10) and Samsung EVO+ 32GB. Has anyone had similar experience or have any idea how to solve this?

I have 5.20 Jessie server 3.4.112 that has been updated/upgraded on an Orange Pi One with a gc2035 cam on an expansion board from aliexpress. As a first step I got the cam working. There are some threads in this forum that made that easy. I then installed github.com/roberttidey/userland since it includes raspimjpeg - a key element in the RPi-Cam-Web-Interface toolchain. But when I run raspimjeg I get the error * failed to open vchiq instance Google has solutions that involve permissions…

I'm trying to recompile the image from source (because I want the kernel with SATA PMP support, and I got the SATA port multiplier and 3 drives ready), but failed in the last step. As the attached image, the problem should be caused by "Device or resource busy". I'm using a fresh downloaded Ubuntu 16.4 VB image and follow every instructions in github. So, how can I get rid of it? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Hello, I am trying to get my Orange Pi One working with my ili9488 LCD screen. I followed a few "how-to's" , This one in particular There is a comment there that mentions how to do it on the Orange Pi. Also this post here. I must be missing something, because when I did all the actions listed in every "How To" I found; all I get is a black screen with a white bar down the side. Does anyone know of a comprehensive how-to on getting this screen to work?

Hello every one, I have used crosstool-ng on my Jessie server (x86), and downloaded the linaro toolchain for my Ubuntu (x64 / 16.04) laptop, but ran into a wall both times: the cross-compilers won't (and now that I think about it, can't) link to the host libraries. Do I simply get all the sources for the libraries I want/need, and adjust their configure parameters to point to dedicated directory, and then build my target? Is there an easy way to manage the versions / dependencies to match Jessie (the version on my target OPi)? I am trying to compile Duktape with libreadline, if that matters. Thanks, Steve

Hello, I'm trying to boot an Orange Pi Plus with Armbian 5.20, and it does not work. I've already check that both OPi and my sdcard work fine, because I can flash and boot the images on orangepi.org site. Besides, I checked how u-boot starts with both Armbian and "debian server" orangepi.org image (both attached)

Hello I am a new user of the armbian software. I installed the latest version of vanilla to armbian in the description of the material, I saw that the buscan was activated. I have a banana pi pro, I would like to know how to install the software for CAN bus. I read that can4linux was the driver to install. I read on this forum they've installed patches, but how do I installed a patch? Thank you for your help. PS: I speak French and I use a translator.

I need/want USB ethernet via OTG. I've wasted over 16 hours trying to get the g_ether module to work. A prominent poster told me that all recent Armbian images have this ability, just follow the directions... It's not. I'm using the stock Armbian image from this website, and I've updated it via "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade". Still no luck. The OTG connection currently shows up as a USB serial gadget, but I want a USB Ethernet gadget.

Hi all, First of all, a big thanks for making Armbian work, the work you guys have done is incredible. I have a BPI M2+ board and I have a problem getting the serial communication to work both ways. I am using the latest image that is available to download on the Armbian website version 5.20, Jessie server, 3.4.112 kernel. According to the board fex file (found here) the configuration for the uart2 is: [uart2] uart_used = 1 uart_port = 2 uart_type = 4 uart_tx = port:PA00<2><1><default><default> uart_rx = port:PA01<2><1><default><default> uart_rts = port:PA02<2><1>&l…

There is problem with the internal wifi on Orange Pi Lite and Armbian 5.20 (5.16 too). I installed tshark (and tcpdump) and try to capture wifi packets in monitor mode. Without success. What's better. Aircrack-ng works flawlessly. I think, pcap library has a problem with switching the device to monitor mode. "dumpcap: The capture session could not be initiated on interface 'wlan0' (wlan0: SIOCGIWPRIV: Argument list too long)." 'iwpriv' command runs without error, but the private command list is really long. Buffer too small?? Dumpcap run with no errors on external USB wifi dongle (TP-Link TL-WN722N), so I think problem is in firmware of internal wlan chip…

Hi, I've had a PcDuino3 for some time now, but I have barely used it because linksprite work was shoddy; so I never bothered to give the pcduino much time. I Also own a banana pi (A20), an O-DROID XU-4, several rPi's and an Orange Pi PC. All non rPi's are running armbian; you are all awesome for your work! I think I understand this problem with 4.x has something to do with the device tree .dtb files, but no clue what to do to get it to boot and display through HDMI. I'm actually wanting to use it as a headless server, but initial setup requires me to see the screen only because the onboard wifi is not working either (despite manually editing /etc/wpa_supplicant/wp…

Hi All, Sorry if this has been asked before, I haven't been able to find the answer yet. I wish to configure my OrangePi's (Lite and PC+) such that they power on automatically whenever the power is restored after a power outage without needing to press the power button. I'm not sure where we could configure this as the OrangePi's don't seem to have a bios like a Desktop PC. Dave.

I've upgraded to 5.20 from 5.17 and I've had to modify my /boot/bin/micro.bin to activate the VGA output. After Upgraded the board didn't reactivate the VGA, and I've to do it manually. Maybe some warning in the changelog will be an help to those have to do such modifications. The upgrade process copied the bin dir to bin.old. I have to apply "sudo apt-get upgrade" twice as the first run complain about come conflicting files and abort the upgrade, the second run did the job. I'm running legacy debian Jessie image and upgraded from 5.17 to 5.20. Now it seem to work well.

Hi everyone, I am having issues with video output on my A20-micro when using legacy kernel. I get the proper output from uboot, but when it starts to load the kernel, I get some garbage on the screen, then nothing. I had a look through the forums to no avail. My boot logs are uploaded to http://sprunge.us/dGhS From what I see, the default kernel command line seems to be correct for my purpose. The system is up and running as I can login through serial and SSH. I tried setting the resolution with a10disp but I got the following response: "Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled." Anyone has a clue on what I am missing ? Than…

At first i like to say that this problem is not caused by Armbian. On my OpiPC+ my EMMC has became unusuable. I got a first hint to this by updating 5.17 Jessie Desktop to 5.20, that failed after downloading 135 MB of Files. I did not thought of an Error and compiled 5.20 myself, put it on SDcard and run nand-sata-install. The Script does it work without any Errors, but after power down, the Opi did not come up again. Put in the SDcard again and tried to look at the EMMC but it was not mountable. There were some Errors fixed by running fsck but next time i tried to write on the Emmc i got Errors again, in fact i tried to run nand-sata-install again after i trie…

Hi, I have recently called apt-get upgrade (with my regular installation and also with a fresh one) and after trying to extract armbian-firmware (I think it was that name but I'm not totally sure) dpkg returns an error. Hello, I have a cubieboard A10 connected to a SSD drive (transcend) trough the sata port. I use it as a headless server to run transmission, nfs and barracudadrive. The board runs from a sandisk 16gb µSD card, the data is on the SSD (with dynamic links). I use the standard legacy armbian image without DE. The SSD is powered by the board and the board is powered with a 2A 5V power supply, comming from a sony psp. If I measure the powerconsumption at the wallsocket, I measure 6W in idle and it goes up to 10W in use (so just enough for the power supply). Because there is a specialist here in powerconsumption (tkaiser), I wonder if it isn't possible to make …

Hi, I installed armbian onto eMMC. Frankly, I expected better results. Please anybody confirm what I understood. 1. The sequence reading speed is 70MBytes/s. 2. The sequence writing speed is 10MBytes/s. 3. eMMC is not optimized for random operations. 4. When writing operation is performed, the system gets VERY SLOW to respond. And the couple of questions. 1. What utility and where to get to benchmark disks well? 2. Will USB SSD perform with better performance than eMCC? Thanks a lot in advance and hope to see this in the FAQ. Dmitry

Hi, I'm trying to install Armbian 5.20 vanilla kernel to eMMC on my Opi PC+. After nand-sata-install finishes I shutdown the Opi PC+ and power it back on. At least, I enable the power, I don't see anything happening in minicom on my pc. Only when powering it with a microsd in the slot (with armbian) will the uboot show in minicom on my pc. Doing a nand-sata-install with 5.14 legacy worked. What am I doing wrong (especially seeing nothing after a reboot with my ttl-to-usb connected is a bit strange for this noob)?

Hello, I'm trying to get a opi+2e to output something on my HDMI TV without success. I got SSH over eth access. I disabled nodm service, rebooted to have FB console only (easier to debug, or so I thought) Still nothing. Hi, I yesterday built a new image for my A20-OLinuXino-MICRO board (Armbian 5.17 Jessie with kernel 4.7.3) At first boot, everything worked fine. But... The keyboard is not responding on that serial connector. After a few tries,…

Hi Few days ago i've upgraded by armbian to the newest release version 5.17? from 5.11. The problem is, that minidlna DLNA server is only visible for few minutes after the service is started. Later i need a restart the service to make it visible for the new clients. The strange is that when i don't exit/shutdown the client, after the server discovered, it stays visible and works perfectly. But i want to make it visible for a newly started client, i need to restart the service. It doesn't seem to be client problem, as the same happens with my samsung smart tv, and a windows pc with foobar 2000 dlna plugin. What's the problem? (it maybe a broadcasting problem)

Hi all I need a bit of assistance in installing OpenMediaVault on the Cubietruck. I'll admit I tried this a while back, so I'm coming back to this to try and use my Cubietruck as a mini NAS. Tried to install using the instructions over at the debian site, but after the install, the web interface showed lots of errors and it wouldn't work. Done lots of googling to try and find further information but I'll admit I'm a bit vexed. Does anyone have some idiot-proof instructions or a prebuilt image they could provide to a bit of a linux newby? thanks in advance -matt

What I do to prepare the sdcard with the following procedure: 1. remote the old partitation, and create a new fat32 partitation 2. dd bs=1M if=Armbian_5.14_Bananapi_Ubuntu_xenial_4.6.2.raw of=/dev/sdc; and sync 3. mark the written partitation as bootable with fdisk ps: I'm using fish shell, and the syntax for the dd command is valid So, what's wrong with my steps? How can I troubleshoot? …
