I'm currently toying around with the Mia E-Ink Display (Onyx Boox) and the display goes blank during loading the Kernel. Could the problem be that the refresh rate is not supported? The specs of the display are 2200x1650 with an refresh rate of 38 Hertz. I tried to change that via armbian-config (boot section) but it made no difference. Does anybody know a way to make it work? best

  13. Hi friends, I am using armbian on orangepi lite and it is brilliant! My orange pi zero is on the way. One question - sometimes I want to make wifi AP from my armbian and sometimes I want armbian to be wifi client. Now it connects successfully to my wifi as a client. I am looking for terminal commands to switch between modes (AP vs. client) on the fly. Any ideas how to do it? Ideally I would like to run two commands: - one command to act as wifi AP (with specified wifi name, password, etc.) - second command to act as wifi client (to connect to specific network with password, etc.) Any idea how to do it, please? 14. Hello! I'm using Armbian Stretch for 1080P Pinebook A64. I've installed Armbian Stretch about 2 months ago, when it was still "Unsupported" and in-development. Now, however, it's supported. Currently, I'm on Armbian Stretch 5.60 and dev branch. I would like to update to 5.69 and next branch. However, from armbian-config, I'm only able to go from stable to nightly build (5.68, but still dev branch). Moreover, I can't select next kernel from Other menu. Is there a way to switch branches (barring re-flashing from latest image)?

If I write output to /dev/watchdog the system will reboot, but if I stop the watchdog service (and wd_keepalive) the system does not reboot. 27. According to http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc-plus/ If I understand correctly, the only difference is that PC+ has additional eMMC and WiFi. So a system with vanilla kernel for Opi PC+ should also work on the PC. Or are there other hardware differences? The page states: "serial console only, no HDMI." Does this vanilla system support Ethernet yet, so one can login via ssh after installation? My targeted use would be a tvheadend server (without local video for the moment).

Hi, I started to adjust RPi-Monitor's settings for the Banana Pi a while ago and reworked the whole stuff in the meantime (since it was focused on Banana Pi and some parts were too quick&dirty -- especially temp file handling of the temperature daemon). I suddenly have a need to test Linux 6.11 or greater, because there's a needed improvement in the panel-mipi-dbi-spi driver (thread keyword ili9488) User "The Going" has kindly advised me to try his Armbian branch with Linux 6.12, so I am here sharing results as I test it with my Orange Pi Zero 3. Initial instructions: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/35635-armbian-242-is-broken-on-orange-pi-pc2/#findComment-207980 At first try, I decided to NOT follow this step: armbian/build> egrep '^-' patch/kernel/archive/sunxi-6.12/series.conf (finds all the excluded patches) Well, I continued. 45. I was sort of disappointed with my RPi 2 VPN performance, which is about 2.5MiB/s while normal traffic can easily exceeds 5.5MiB/s. So I setup same VPN config on OPi One and run the test. The speed is impressive which is well above 5 MiB/s but it could only last about 10s before the box reboots itself. I can see one cpu core is occupied 100% by softirqd ( about 80% on RPi 2). My kernel version is 3.4.112 and StrongSwan version is 5.3.3. Don't have further information yet. When I get a chance to hook up serial console, I may collect more info.

  62. To replace my dead home server (which was just a dead laptop anyway), I picked up an Orange Pi PC for cheap locally. After solving power supply issues, I tested GUI and media performance on the board, with an aim to perhaps use the composite out for emulation, before concluding that this wasn't the best choice for the board. (That, and it'd kill my performance for the more useful server aspects.) While technically impressive, it wasn't really worth it when my PC is right there for me to use to play those video files I would on the board. Looking into the matter, it seems the ideal solution for a file server would be to install the Mainline kernel to benefit fr…

Below are supplementary quotes helpful to asking the question: can CPU presets be made into a desktop shortcut that could allow pre-defined CPU freq settings whether onthe fly or even reboot required? Is so, what would the code be? That's the question I can't answer. Hi, I´ve just search in all forum for the A20-Banana Pro. And I must realize, that it doesn't give a Armbian5.0-Trusty-without-desktop ISO or RAW. Therefore I once wanted to ask if this for "Legacy" and / or "Vanilla" possibly still comes? Because I seek the server version of "Ubuntu Trusty" for my Banana Pi Pro. Best regards, Inu

After watching a video tutorial on youtube I have attempted to use the build scripts to create a newer image for my Pcduino V2. I had been initially using an image that I found on the archives which uses kernel 4.14, this worked fine for the most part apart from shutting down which would fail 9/10 to shutdown normally. the only way I could ensure that it would shutdown was to do poweroff -f otherwise it just went into a state where most things such as the wifi and usbs would no longer be detected and i was greeted with the message failed to reach target.poweroff. from what I could find out about the issue suggested that it was some kind of issue with systemd, but I could …

Hi, I'm using a CubieTruck running Armbian 5.8.16. /dev/ttyS2 works fine if I use the 4.19.62 dtb but not when using the 5.8.16 dtb. I am using the uart2 overlay and param_uart2_rtscts. If I try to access the port with picocom it reports "Filedes is not a tty". Commenting the param_uart2_rtscts line makes no difference. It appears that uart2 isn't being setup as a serial port when using the 5.8.16 dtb (and overlays). But the kernel must be okay because it works with the old dtb. Does anybody have a solution here ? Or can you tell me where the sources for the dtb and overlay are ? The copies on github seem old. Thanks, S…

  97. So, here is the problem: I'm running the latest version of Armbian buster on an Orange PI PC+2E and as you know this piece of crap doesn't even support a proper shutdown function: all what is does is "reboot: system halted" and the screen remains on. Is there a way to turn the screen off (at least) after system halted? maybe a script that runs right before shutdown ? I've reas several discussion but non of the solutions worked

Hi all. I just want to apologize for my English, I write everything through a translator. Can you please tell me how to turn on the TV output now? Previously, this was done via /boot/script.bin

H there, I am using OPi0 TV out. I know, there are hardcoded PAL and NTSC resolutions only. But I would like to ask, if there is any tutorial how to build it up with my own lower resolution e.g. 320x240? (i know I should recompile driver for it but any help where to start is appreciated) Many thanks.
