  1. Hi there, my BananaPi won't boot after a (maybe failed) apt-get update. Is there anything i could try to make it work again? While apt-get upgrade was running, I saw (iirc) in the log that the kernel directory (?) isn't empty (?). This message stayed there for quite a long time but the update process ended without any error messages. Thank you.

Hello, I've been working with my Banana Pro since years with Bananian. Last days I formatted the SD and installed Armbian (debian), to be used in headless mode. Installation and system setup worked as expected, I modified eth0 setup for static IP and it went fine after reboot. A strange problem appeared when I installed transmission-daemon, minidlna and samba packages. All working fine before reboot, but thereafter any network interface is disappeared, network-manager can't execute fine, remains running for several seconds then something crashes. If I configure eth0 manually network works, so no hardware problem. I'm sure the board work…

  7. Greetings all! I'm working to get my BananaPro (LeMaker board) up and running with Armbian 5 (Armbian_5.04_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.4.3.raw) just downloaded to a fresh SD card. The radio is discovered and appears to be at least tolerated by the drivers. I've modified and recompiled as directed, the boot.cmd as such to point to the bananapro.dtb file directly: setenv bootargs "console=tty1 root=/dev/sda1 rootwait rootfstype=ext4 sunxi_ve_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_g2d_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_no_mali_mem_reserve sunxi_fb_mem_reserve=16 hdmi.audio=EDID:0 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=1" #-----------------------------…

  8. Hello, at first I want to thank you for your great work Igor 2 Days ago I installed the new version 5.00 Vanilla Kernel armbian for BananaPro on my SD card. And I was so glad to finally see a working wifi for BananaPro with mainline kernel. Today I did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade. Ever since there is no more a wlan0 interface. Have tried ifconfig and iwconfig. It seems to be, that there was installed a new kernel image. What can we do to get it working again? Also ReleaseHistory says there is a version 5.01 but the download link for BananaPro Vanilla Jessie still leads to a version 5.00 link. Kind regards Wolf

  11. Hi, I use BananaPro on Armbian Strech or Bionic, I try to use the GPIO python library (for bananapro from LeMaker github) gpio.add_event_detect() or GPIO.wait_for_edge(channel, GPIO.RISING) This usually disconnect my network and the event is never detected. I have to reboot the PI to restore the state. Also, a normal read/write state GPIO.input(PIN_NUM) works perfectly... Hi Forum, Please let me take a "low level" question about what I experienced on my CT. It should be my misunderstanding but it would be good if someone could help to clarify. On my CT udev mounts a USB device then starts a bash script in the background. This script lunches some bash threads and waits for them to complete. The threads has no common job on any file or resource. In the third level of nesting cp -r chrashes without any error message. It leaves the logging sentence in the middle, so it's really chrashes. rsync does the same but for different files. The scripts are fully functional if I start them from a root console. Even if started in the background.…

  15. So I have a question... I'd like to manage Li-Ion battery operation on SBCs using the AXP209 power management chip (especially the Banana Pro, as that's what I have...) I soldered a connector to the battery terminals on my BPro for portable operation, and it would be nice to have some kind of solution to raise an alert at low battery charge (like via the onboard LEDs), and automatically call system shutdown at a certain level. Googling has shown that the AXP209 has an i2c interface for sensors, and there are a few scripts for reading battery status here: http://hardware-libre.fr/2014/11/banana-pi-axp209-battery-power-monitoring/ My current plan is to pro…

Lucky me received a Beelink X2 as a gift days ago. I flashed Legacy 3.4.112 to a Samsung EVO and am pretty stoked to see this display on an HDMI TV. It doesn't display to DVI but I saw reference to h3disp, so I have hope this applies. I'd like to incorporate a Traveller mode (I made that up) that can be set so the unit knows monitors are likely to change and find an automatic way for this to detect DVI. I'll also get a cheap USB soundcard and output to a monitor that has a soundbar and avoid SPDIF for a while. That's about it: play tutorials and enjoy what Armbian can do. I can't tell you how blown away I am with this neat little Beelink X2, or how much I'm in aw…

Just to start out: how do I connect the +- to the board How do I tell the board to power on the leds And for more advanced: Is it possibly to do voltage-limiting dimming as opposed to PWM If no: what's the best way to do PWM? Hello everyone. I just got an Orange Pi Plus 2e, which I intend to use a as a personal cloud server. I understand that, in this board, Legacy Kernel is much better than Mainline for desktop usage (video accel, TV out, etc.), but I am not so clear about which one is better for a server. May main concerns are: Ethernet and Wifi speed and reliabililty (ethernet will conect to Internet, and Wifi to home devices as an AP) I/O speed for the USB attached HD Security Any advice about which Kernel to choose? Thanks!

I'm running OpenElec on a NanoPI-M1 and one thing missing is having the screen blanked when the screensaver kicks in, allowing the monitor to power down. In Kodi there's no option to do it, unlike when running in other OS. Probably someone is going to direct me at CEC but that does not work for me as I have a PC monitor connected to the board through a HDMI->VGA adaptor. I've read in the sunxi docs that the '/sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank' sysfs entry should control blanking for the framebuffer, therefore blanking the HDMI output, but it either does not work that way or at all, as nothing happens. On the RP world there is a command line utility that can enable/disabl…

  48. Dear Armbian Zen Masters, Please, help me turn on bluetooth on my Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 H5 board (running armbian focal server). This board is up to date (apt update and upgrade). I've enabled bluetooth support from armbian-config on this board. But, bluetoothctl is not working (gets stuck in waiting for response on command execution). Wifi is working fine on this board. (I could easily use bluetoothctl on my khadas vim3 pro board with "current armbian xfce desktop" on it) Waiting for your response. (Please, find the relevant board info below.) Thanks in advance, Spherulite. -------------------------------------------…

  53. Hi. I've got a Orange Pi Win Plus flashed with armbian, everything is running great, except the bluetooth module. I have everything installed, but blueman keeps telling me that no adapters are found. I've checked if the bluetooth adapters were on with the command 'armbian-config', as well as trying to stop and restart it with '/etc/init.d/bluetooth stop and start'. I start to feel like it won't work on linux, because I've already tried debian and ubuntu from the orangepi downloads page and the bluetooth didn't work too. I don't want to run Android just because of this issue. Any ideas?

I am trying to setup a logitech squeezebox server on an Orange Pi Zero so that it can be carried around and serve my collection from a large micro-sd card. This is the 3rd iteration of this already (first was given as a gift, 2nd got fried by 12V, and now this one) and in the past I've been using hostapd to connect while away from home. I'd like to explore the possibility of using a Bluetooth Personal Area network, but I am not sure if there is a stack that can achieve this for me. The idea is that I would use bluetooth instead of wifi to connect to the orange pi zero and establish a tcp/ip connection that would allow me to control the server using the phone…

The reason is probably BCM chip. But I am not sure. Everything works well on the table, you can stress it as much you want , everything works well. But when you use it for real traffic, the board starts to collapse, unexpected restarts etc. I followed all recommendations of you, but without success. The question is ... Which board for router I have to use? Any ideas welcome. Petr P.S. If somebody wants R1 for home router/NAS (for home is ok), I have two available, the third ended …

Despite this the pins goes HIGH for some seconds until the bootloader reach this line. What is the boot scheme? Why i get this pin HIGH? Is it because the I2C1 is configured? Is it possible to disable it? Thanks Simone

I used it for a couple of days but now I encountered a problem: the boot stops after the following writing appears: "started hostname service" I tried to wait several minutes but nothing happens anymore Best regards Marco UPDATE: The problem occurs when the device is powered only by the Debug UART, probably the pc usb is not enough to power it

Hello, greetings from Bulgaria and thanks for the OS. We use Orange Pi Lite and something may be is problem. Full boot time is around 1 min and 15 sec, how can we degree this time because it's so slow? When we was with 5.23 distro it was around 45 sec with same SD card and power supply.

Hello fellow Armbianers! I'm using Orange Pi zero. My only complaint is the 30s boot time. Looking at the log files, seems like it only takes 5 seconds to boot once the kernel is loaded. The majority of this 30s is spent in uboot somewhere? Does anyone know how to speed up this boot process? I'm always just booting from SD card, don't need USB boot/network boot, console, or any of that. Thanks!

  96. I have problem with transmission-deamon on my CubieA20. It not starting listening on boot. Only after service restart. Met same problem on Raspberry-3 but it cured by enabling "boot to wait until a network connection is established" option. I checked the raspi-config and taken same measures on my A20 ("ExecStart=/sbin/dhcpcd -q -w" etc). Not succeeded! Anyone have alternate methods? There's some more applications that not starting on boot if connection not active, Blynk-client for ex. PS: I use legacy kernel on 5.25 Armbian. UPD: Problem resolved by editing /etc/network/interfaces.

I Installed the Armbian system who is dedicated for my OPI version: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ with instruction, formatted SD card with format size adjustment option ON. But when I want to boot it there is only still green light (steady all time). OPI not giving any boot information on screen. This issue is not caused by SD card becasue I tried two (which one is recommended): Kingston 32GB (class 10) and Samsung EVO+ 32GB. Has anyone had similar experience or have any idea how to solve this?

Cubieboard2 How to create the armbian image with capability of booting with gps connected to the uart port ? The armbian can't start if gps connected to the uart port and vice versa - It starts with unpluged gps. After system is started up, I do connect the gps and can easily get the gps data from /dev/ttyS0 As I understand - it's happened because of ttyS0 can be using as keyboard, so bootload is interrupting. Also it's can be a problem while initial password changing.

Hi There, I hope I posted this in the correct forum. We run a lot of distros on a given "disk" or "sdcard" (or whatever). We call our system "Boot-Crazy". Here goes: The partition starts with a small boot partition containing the initial boot parameters, configuration, and a pointer to the partition holding the root file system we want to boot. The boot partition is followed by some number of other partitions, like this: [bOOT]-[sWAP]-[COMMON]-[COPYOF-DISTO-1-BOOT]-[DISTO-1-ROOT-FILE-SYSTEM]-[COPYOF-DISTO-2-BOOT]-[DISTO-2-ROOT-FILE-SYSTEM]... Armbian (as downloaded for the BananaPi-M2) is simply one large partition, like this: [armbia…

Is it possible to set Orange Pi Plus after "poweroff" command to boot-up by LAN impulse? I am using armbian ubuntu xenial OS. The LED-s on the Ethernet connector are on so maybe there is some chance.
