Hi, I'm doing some small changes to the nanopi-neo-air dtb. I am working from a decompiled dtb file. I would like to work from original patched Armbian dts files to get a better understanding without ploughing through device tree documentation. Where can I get Armbian patched kernel dts files ?

Dear all, I have an Android TV-Box which is not a common type (but brand new). No existing DTB file that I tried works properly with Armbian (Ex. WiFi & Bluetooth missing). I have managed to extract the original DTB file from the built in Android (Pie, I believe), but as I read somewhere else, these DTB files are for older Linux kernels, and Armbian refuses to boot with it. My question: would anybody here like to attempt to update the DTB file, so that it adheres to the current Linux kernels standards for DTB files? I will offer $100 to anyone who can make it work. Technical specs of TV-Box: Amlogic S905X3…

Hi, I'm using Armbian 21.08.6 Bullseye on an Odroid HC2 (http://ix.io/3JUu). I set up tgt (Linux iSCSI) and everything works fine (clients can access the targets). Hi there, I have searched a bit, but didn't found HOW (step by step) make my OPi4 (with Armbian installed) an BitCoin factory. Looks it is a quite good candidate, 6 cores (2 BIG), GPU (I know, this is not Nvidia ;p). For the moment not busy doing anything. Could someone provide some kind of HOWTO on topic? (google reports small number of BC diggers for Linux). I have found some howto and (for ARMHF, not 64) binaries to make Linux machine "full" node of BC network, but not on digging BC.

Hi everyone. I bought an ov5640 camera for my Nanopi Duo2. As their wiki clearly showed ov5640 plug and play, I thought I am facing no problems. That's not the case. Armbian seems not to support ov5640 by defualt. My problem: OV5640 do not work on nanopi duo2 with latest armbian. What did I try: I searched for answers online, but they are old (years ago), saying I have to edit some dts files to get the cam work. I tried some of them, then I messed up my system and have to re-flash the sd card again and again. I guess they might won't apply to the latest image. I wonder: Is the camera ov5640 on Nanopi Duo…

I am using Armbian 21.05.1 running the legacy kernel as I wish to use the ISP camera support from the RK3399 media framework. After porting the devicetree for my camera, all drivers are working except for the actual ISP1 driver, which seems to not be built into the kernel: grep ROCKCHIP_ISP1 /boot/config-4.4.213-rk3399 # CONFIG_VIDEO_ROCKCHIP_ISP1 is not set Looking through the kernel config for this family (linux-rockchip64-legacy.config), CONFIG_VIDEO_ROCKCHIP_ISP1 is set, and this appears to be the case in the sources installed from armbian-config. I am rather new to Armbian so I'm not quite sure what's the issue here. Would be much appreciated if someone …

I read that armbian bullseye for odroid HC2 is still unstable, while it is considered stable for other boards. Can somone explain the reaseon for this? Or point me to a place where this is discussed? If I knew what the reason is and it would be not important for my application, I could switch to bullseye now. Regards, jba

Hello, I'm trying to get a new board working using Armbian. I'm currently working from my GIT repo so I cloned armbian/build and u-boot/u-boot I added them to the compile.sh script by using userpatches/lib.conf overrides. I added the DTS file of the board, defconfig and modified the Makefile as it can be seen on this commit On the board config side, I set: BOOTCONFIG="fly_gemini_defconfig" The image is built successfully but the board doesn't boot because the DTB file isn't present in /boot/dtb/allwinner/sun50i-h5-fly-gemini.dtb I looked in output/debug files but I didn't found any error What did I miss ? …

Good day. Yesterday I downloaded the latest Armbian version for the ASUS Tinker Board S and flashed the built-in eMMC (with Etcher Balena). The software works fine, but - the SD card is not mounted as mass storage, the file manager THUNAR does not recognize it. also lsusb does not recognize it. - a plugged USB- flash-stick is not mounted by the file manager THUNAR, although lsusb lists it. Ist das Problem behebbar? Is the problem fixable? The USB stick of a wireless mouse is recognized and also connects to the conputermouse. Hi! I have Orange Pi Pc Plus and Armbian based on Linux 5.8.11-trunk which successfully loads with any U-Boot taken from official Armbian distro. Hello everyone, my wife has transitioned my family to google calendars and in an effort to keep myself up to date I built a Magic Mirror using an OP PC+. It worked beautifully in testing in standard video layout but to effectively use the screen I have mounted it rotated in a frame and this is where my problems began. Upon rotating the image in XFCE either 90 or 270 degrees video performance drops to single digit FPS. No increase in CPU utilisation so i cannot understand what the issue is. I have done a bit of googling and there is litle information and no apparent solution available. has anyone else suffered with this? …

Hi all, I have found that hw acceleration can be achieved with OpenGL, sunxi Cedrus, using old Xenial on 3.4 kernel. Haven't tested yet using OpenGL, but regarding Cedrus everybody was talking about video decoding and didn't see anyone talking about encoding. Don't want to try on old kernels, therefore I'm not using Xenial. Is there a way to get hw acceleration for video encoding on recent kernels (5.10.y) for Orange pi one?

I just released Armbian Focal Desktop MAINLINE images for Khadas VIM3 Pro. These are individually, pure arm64 and hybrid arm64/armhf variations. Thanks go to @lanefu for key pointers in understanding how to "re-arm" the firstboot and firstboot-config mechanism in current-state Armbian. Please offer feedback and experiences if you test these. The images are currently hand-built, but if enough interest is generated, and time permitting, I will commit to a git fork for an unsupported standard building process. I have more detail on the distribution site at archive.org, and in the corresponding posts to the Khadas forums: …

Hello everybody, I am not using OpenMediaVault but I am trying to implement some of its feautures into my existing system based on Armbian Bullseye, running on ODROID HC-2. Is there any tutorial or HowTo available that explains steb-by-step how to install and setup auto-shutdown feauture and WOL? I'd like my odroid hc-2 shut-down when not in use (especially over night) and let it auto-start again whenever I access it via \\myhost\share or \\192.168.0.1\someshare. If that's not possible then I can live with sending a WOL magic packet manually. Any known tutorial avaible for doing this on a ODROID-HC2 ?

Hello everybody, is it possible in u-boot (boot.ini) to make a user input and let the user choose from A or B and according to the choice load a particular uInitrd? In case a non-valid answer is given a default answer should be used. Best of all would be if I could implement a time-out. When user does not make input answer B should be selected. I would know how to do this in bash but is that also possible in boot.ini somehow?

Hello, I'm attempting to port an unknown rk3399 board to Linux from Android with kernerl 4.4. Funny thing about my OrangePi PC was that there was one and only one old Armbian image version (Armbian-20.05.4-Orangepipc-focal-5.4.45.img) which ran GUI successfully out of the many other Armbian and OrangePi images I tried which helped me run it as a desktop for using Libre office and others. Unfortunately 1GB RAM was too low for Gaming lol. Thanks to the Armbian community for that. Before buying, I presume the PineA64 LTS version has a 64bit Rambus if not - I don't understand how processing speed will be bett…

Hello, I have a few small questions: Cubietruck with latest Armbian Two log folders, /var/log and /var/log.hdd, the first kept in RAM that's regularly copied to the SD-Card, keeping the wear of the SD small This used to work flawlessly, I don't know when this changed Lately I realized that the RAM-disk is flooded very quickly by something that is writing to /var/log/journal/random_hex_number/ until it runs OOM. Almost all other logs are empty, likely because a lot more gets written to the journal log. Unfortunately the content of all files in the journal subfolder contain binary data, the only commonality I see is that all files start…

Hello. I am using the NanoPi NEO Core board to communicate via UART1 and UART2 ports. I configure the ports using Python - pyserial. This is my configuration code: import serial com = serial.Serial( port = '/dev/ttyS' + str(port), baudrate = 115200, parity = serial.PARITY_NONE, stopbits = serial.STOPBITS_ONE, bytesize = serial.EIGHTBITS, timeout = 0.02 ) The problem is that the UART TX signal is not clean, as you can see from the following pictures: https://ibb.co/5sdvGVf https://ibb.co/zfgZrGT I get the same signal on both UART ports.…

Hello folks, I plan to build a power bank or a ups for my Orange Pi Pc H3. Here is the log dump for more info: http://ix.io/2kMo I have been using my Pi PC as a full fledged desktop thanks to all you Armbian contributers. We have occassional power outages and to counter the issue I'm planning to build an alternate power source. After some online search I found that some of the IOT boards support usb power banks as a power supply, hence would like to know if Pi PC H3 supports this feature or can be programmed? Another option is to use a MoPi board, not sure if Pi PC H3 supports the board. https://pi.gate.ac.uk/pa…

Orange Pi Zero H2+ Armbian 21.08.1 Orangepizero Bullseye current 5.10.60 from armbian.com/downloads. I have attached external RTC module with DS3231 on TWI0 (/dev/i2c-0) and activated it with command echo ds3231 0x68 > /sys/bus/i2c/devices/i2c-0/new_device After that /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0 links to temperature sensor on DS3231 instead of SOCTEMP. Hello I am trying to build a driver for a PineCube. The driver is Cedar_Ve.ko. Unfortnately I'm running in to problems either building the driver or deploying it. Hello I've previously build and deployed an armbian image for a pinecube using "bionic" which used kernel version 5.10.60. I have recently tried to build and deploy a new image, but the kernel is now 5.10.72 which wouldn't normally be a problem, but I have found that I've not been able to get gstreamer and some of it's dependacies installed. Is it possible to specify a particular kernel version when I'm building an armbian image, in if so how do I do it? Thanks in advance Andrew

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this question. I just installed Armbian onto a Odroid XU4 and it looks great but I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I can't paste more than about 146 characters into the terminal. I'm logged in over SSH. I'm trying to create a text file by pasting the contents in from my mac's clipboard and every time it only pasts the last ~140 characters of the text. I've tried everything and searched everywhere and can't figure out where this is being limited. Any help would be greatly appreciated : ) Joel.

Is there an SPI LCD module that works out of the box with the latest armbian image for the orange pi zero board? I am using Armbian_21.08.1_Orangepizero_focal_current_5.10.60.img and it seems to be missing fbtft_device file which looks like it is very important. Dear all, on my ODROID-HC2 Armbian Bullseye installation there is a script /usr/bin/wireguard-manager and I'm curious what this is about at all. In my opinion only wireguard-tools is "ok" to setup a wireguard VPN configuration but no "wireguard" package or such a script which installs a bunch of stuff and weird things. Unfortunately I was new to wireguard and this was my 1st configuration and setup I did. I discovered the mentioned script and executed "wireguard-manager --help" which against my expectation started an installation of different stuff. I didn't cancel this because I was afraid in ending in half-baked misconfigured states. It did "apt …

Hi all, I'm looking for an sbc with low power consumption, but still able to run linux (arduino like solutions are somewhat unflexible, and take longer to configure). Wifi/ethernet/hdmi are not required if there is a way to use a serial console (apart from the extra rs232 which is connected to our measuring device). Hello community, when I SSH into my ODROID-HC2 I get the nice coloured MOTD which I really like. Question 1) I found the configuration file /etc/default/armbian-motd and the directory /etc/update-motd.d and after reading the bash code I lack in understanding why some information lines are suppressed in the MOTD banner when the scripts get executed. With the Orange Pi Zero 2 (Bullseye), when in Armbian-config I install desktop with browser...it seems working but when you enable the desktop it finished by a kill() in the terminal. You can solve the issue by apt-get install tightdm.after and not before. You will get the desktop for the user and not root. Grey Background with the pinguin. If you install Desktop in Bullseye with Orange Pi One Plus or Orange Pi Zero, no issue. You have the new Debian Desktop with a Background dark blue. Regards F1ATB.fr
