  15. Is there detailed info somewhere how to do so? Like I posted here I once prepared a new sd card with armbian, poped it in to have the system resize to full sd card storage and then restored the rsync backup. Back then I was successful restoring the backup on hummingboard. Now I tried with odroid hc2 backup via ssh. Turns out you have to be root on the client if you pull a backup via ssh, else the files and folders user, group and permission won't be transfered. Also after restore I changed the UUID in /etc/fstab to the new sd card. Since I first set up armbian with a fresh install I should also have u-boot on it. Unfortunately system does not boot on my o…

  16. Hi, I'd like to setup log2ram so that it never writes to the disk, but rather discards all logs at shutdown. The documentation for log2ram says that if I delete /etc/cron.daily/log2ram it will only sync the logs to the disk at shutdown. But is there a way to have it not even do that? Also, in order to prevent log2ram from filling up all its space in RAM, is it possible to setup an overwrite mechanism so that the logs begin overwriting themselves once they hit the space limit?

  18. Hello everyone. I've been struggling with the temperature of my Orange Pi Lite 2. Based on what I saw in the forums, undervolting might fix this issue. I know how to undervolt the CPU by editing script.bin, however, it seems that script.bin is deprecated and now I need to change the device tree. I looked into DTS config in armbian-config, I couldn't find any voltage related parameters. I need to edit something like the dvfs_table in script.bin. Does anyone know how I can edit the device tree in order to modify voltage values? Especially voltage-frequency values. Any help is much appreciated.

  34. I have Armbian up and running on a Rock Pi S with a PoE HAT. To enable the audio jack on the PoE HAT I had to run the following commands as mentioned on the official Rock Pi S PoE Hat wiki. # echo 15 > /sys/class/gpio/export # echo out > /sys/class/gpio/gpio15/direction # echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio15/value Once enabled, the audio works as needed. However, every time the device is rebooted I have to SSH in and run these commands again to re-enable audio out which is obviously not ideal. How can I persist these changes between reboots?

I am getting started in Armbian Linux Buster on the Pine A64+ and for my first project I'd like to program a 7 segment display (four digits) to display descending numbers from 1000. Hi! I'm sorry if the answer to my question is already documented somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I am trying to figure out how to build a specific release. My understanding is that you checkout the desired tag of the armbian/build repo and just build it. However, when I do this with v24.2.1 the image that comes out is named 24.5.0-trunk. Changing the version in the VERSION file (by default set to 24.5.0-trunk) changes the name of the output image, but it is not clear to me if that affects other things than just this. So basically, now I am confused which scenario is correct: Is using the armbian/build tag the correct …

  67. Hi everybody With freshly installed armbian (commit id: d9fb61be0) I created a new uboot config file: ./compile.sh uboot-config BOARD=orangepizeroplus BRANCH=current SHARE_LOG=yes This creates the file: ./output/defconfig-uboot-orangepizeroplus-current But the command: ./compile.sh uboot BOARD=orangepizeroplus BRANCH=current SHARE_LOG=yes does not compile uboot, it just touches ./output/debs/linux-u-boot-orangepizeroplus-current_26.11.0-trunk_arm64__2026.07-*.deb file. Do I miss something? Do I have to copy the file ./output/defconfig-uboot-orangepizeroplus-current to a place in ./userpatches? …

  75. Hello dear Armbian Community, I've been trying to get a custom M.2 PCIe Adapter Board, based on the ASMedia ASM1182e PCIe Packet Switch, to work for a couple of days on my NanoPi M4V2. After solving a few other issues, where it didn't even finish pci link training, it's finally being sort-of-recognized by the SBC (Atleast PCI ID [1b21:1182] is being read). But now, whenever the Adapter is plugged into the SBC, it doesn't boot and aborts with a kernel panic. I've read about this issue already in other forums and it seems to be a common problem with the PCIe Implementation on the RK3399. Usually, one just implements a delay between pci link training and scanning…

Hello, this question is not armbian specific but I am dealing with it while using armbian. I have 8GB microsd card but my armbian is using just 1.5GB on it. Now I need to clone/copy this card. I use win32diskimager (on windows) but disadvantage this approach is, that it makes bytedata image file (all 8GB of the whole microsd card even with blank space) but my data have 1.5GB only. Is there any utility/software which makes image with 1.5GB only? I mean when I burn 8GB image size after that to another microsd card, it takes 5x more time to finish as if I could burn just 1.5GB image. I think it must be able to do it somehow, because armbian images has abou…

  79. Hello; on OrangePi Zero LTS I have completely stupid values for CPU temperature. They were all reasonable for pre-LTS boards. I have read somewhere that this is a known bug. A kernel patch is probably available, but even if it's the case,I can not update my kernel. Where can I find the algorythm to compensate the value ? It's easier for me to fix the issue in userland code, rather than updating kernel. How can I distinguish between pre-LTS and LTS boards ? Maybe MAC address for LTS are always in a given range ? I have a legacy board with MAC 12:42:98:f9:c8:XX, and a LTS with 12:42:3a:63:04:XX (unfortunately the LTS has a lower MAC :/ does not seem chronologica…

I've tried to compile libgpiod (my assumption is this is a user space lib) and it depends on gpio.h which is used by the kernel. According to https://github.com/brgl/libgpiod/issues/22 gpio.h should be installed with linux-libc-dev which is already installed and gpio.h is missing. I installed the kernel headers and tried (it ends up with typedef conflicts): ./autogen.sh --enable-tools=yes --prefix=/usr/local CFLAGS="-I/usr/src/linux-headers-4.14.14-sunxi/arch/arm/include -I/usr/src/linux-headers-4.14.14-sunxi/include" configure: error: linux/gpio.h header not found (needed to build the library) I've attached the config.log. Hello, I've searched through various threads on here and can find no comprehensive answer on how to disable log2ram completely, forever, and preferably end up with only one /var/log with mainstream logrotate settings. This is for a situation where I'm using an actual hard drive and don't need to worry about destroying flash memory. I suspect it is more involved than just 'systemctl disable log2ram'. Any additional pointers would be very helpful, thank you!
