Is there a way to share my Armbian screen with another computer, like I can do early with Ubuntu? I have my Armbian machine in one room, and I need to be able to control whatever is running there from my other computer in a different room. I can do this easily with Ubuntu's screen share option. How can I do that with Armbian? Peter

  4. I STFW now for hours but didn't find a solution to this: When I login to my new installed OdroidXU4 image of armbian minimal it says: [ Kernel and firmware upgrades disabled: armbian-config ] # armbian-config gives: 'command not found' So I searched for a way, a hint, an instruction how to enable those 'Kernel and firmware upgrades' without having to install 'armbian-config' with no avail. How can I archive this? Thank you in advance; Gerry

Greetings, I recently changed from an old loboris ubuntu distribution to armbian for my opi PC. I never had problems with it, it was just not getting updates for a long time since it's old and not a LTS. I never had problems with openvpn also.. installing from apt and creating ca's and users was a breeze. Now with armbian i simply cannot get it to work, i tried both with apt and compiling the latest version from source. I cannot get it to start. Doing systemctl start openvpn Job for openvpn.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status openvpn.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. journalctl -xe -- …

  16. Hi, FYI, there might be an issue with old, slow hardware. Yesterday I installed the minimal Ubuntu 26.04 current 6.18.24 downloaded from https://armbian.com/boards/bananapi on my old Banana Pi on an similar old 8GB SD by sandisk. It runs normaly, but cannot set up the end0 during booting. Doing an "ip link set end0 up" manually on cli afterwards immediately activated end0, so my solution was using an script to do this command after booting. The AI aiding me thinks it's just the slow hardware causing a timeout when it should set up the interface during booting. Just wanted to let you know.

  20. Dear all, I'm frequently losing GPIO interrupts on various boards, which seem to be caused by bursty processes. When I shield the cores that have those interrupts according to /proc/interrupts with e..g. "cset shield --cpu=0,1" , way less interrupts are lost (e.g. for 4kHz interrupts one in hours instead of once per minute). Most of these (ADC) interrupts are handled by my own kernel module, but couldn't find how to restrict them to e.g. CPU0, and they are not movable using /proc/irq/*/smp_affinity. 21. Hi, I have a neo3 that has been running without any issues for about a year. Today after I had to restart it and the device wouldn't boot anymore. I checked the systemd logs by mounting the sd card in my laptop and I can see that it didn't get to boot at all (as there are no systemd logs after the shutdown). I checked the card for filesystem issues, and it seems to be OK. But I have no idea how to fix this. I really don't want to flash again an image and start from zero as I have a good amount of software installed that would take a lot of time to setup again. If this is a problem with the bootloader, how can I troubleshoot it? I don't have a serial interface so I…

  22. I recently had a sopine module start to fail on me. The symptom was most boots would fail partway through the boot. It would just stop, serial console output stops, the board powers off. Note that this is identical to lower power but in this case was not (I have multiple sopine modules and work with them daily). I successfully mitigated this issue by underclocking. Specifically I did three things: Underclocking in U-Boot I added the following line to `/boot/boot.cmd` and compiled the file: mw 0x1c20000 0x80000900 Per the Allwinner A64 manual (p84), this sets the CPU to the lowest clock speed possible: 240MHz. 50. I installed Armbian on an Orangepi Plus 2e. I have set it as Plex server, Tvheadend and Samba enabled from armbian-config softy. All perfect until I activate the wifi access point also from armbian-config. Plex deconfigures me and I can no longer access it. Is there any incompatibility?

Tried: On a fresh install of Buster Current on SD card, I booted up and did 'armbian-config > Network > Hotspot'. At the end of the setup it said there is no compatible 'hostapd' driver. I also tried an image of FriendlyWRT on this SBC. I could get the Wifi Dongle to be recognized, but radio0 said "device not set", and wifi was 'not associated'. Goal: Get DWA-131 to function as a hotspot on my FriendlyElec NanoPi R2S using armbian (or FriendlyWRT). I want to use this device as a hotspot (or rou…

  59. The usual way to get the a headless linux box up and running is to flash a disk image to a µSD card and then insert that card into the linux box, boot, answer some questions and it's done. Can I not do the same thing with an image file that I put on the µSD card (in addition to the µSD card having a complete linux OS that the box can boot from) and copy that to the emmc? Then pull the card and boot from the emmc? Does the image file used for a µSD card differ from the image file that should be written to the emmc? e.g. I have an armbian image, say "Armbian_25.2.2_Rockpi-s_bookworm_current_6.12.15_minimal.img.xz", on my µSD card at /media/…

Is there a way I can test for the possibility that my MicroSD is wearing out? The power supply I'm using came with the board and has been adequate for all other OS uses. It may just be a file permission bug or something needing a "sudo". Either way, I'm conc…

So, I don't need WiFi connection very fast and do need most of network services. Due usage of AP6210 module, WiFi and BT shares the same communication channel (UART). I continuously send data (1Mbps) via Bluetooth. WiFi is used by my app 1 time per minute. The problem is that Bluetooth drops communication for about second. Reducing BT speed does not help. I noticed that when I download file from OPI board, that drops occurs much often. It seems that WiFi has a higher priority than BT in communication.
